This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:
- creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
- moving discussion pages
- moving reviews
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
- Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
- If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
- We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
- If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
- If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
- To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
- Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
- Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
- Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

Please recreate and cutlist the following ghost wicks:
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Please redirect the following:
- Magical Language to Language of Magic.
- Divine Language, Holy Language and Liturgical Language to Sacred Language (these are considered synonyms/subsets/so closely related and similar that we may as well lump them together IRL).
- Accidentally Mistranslated Speech and Accidentally Mistranslated Dialogue to My Hovercraft Is Full of Eels.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
- Magical Language suggests that there is a unique language that is inherently magical, whereas the trope Language of Magic refers to the necessity to use a specific language in order to correctly enact other magic (e.g. spells are all in Latin, for example)
- Accidentally Mistranslated Dialogue sounds like it would be about a bad dub or subtitle malfunction, which is not the trope and is definitely covered by other trivia items. Will get massive misuse. Accidentally Mistranslated Speech isn't much better in that regard, not to mention the trope page literally saying "this has nothing to do with bad translations". It's a character attempting to speak a language and saying something hilariously or dramatically wrong.

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!- 14851: Please keep in mind there's no need to include Main as a namespace.
- 14853: Did the Sacred Language redirects.
I think we're caught up, folks.
I'd like to request that Yuri Game be made a redirect to Romance Game.
Request: Add Pokemon Sun and Moon to the main franchise's That One Boss page using these examples from YMMV:
- Totem Pokémon Mimikyu, of all things. Its Disguise ability (basically a free Substitute—sans the HP loss—as soon as it's sent out) guarantees that it'll survive to call in an ally Pokémon, and every ally it calls has Hypnosis, so if you don't OHKO it immediately, it will put you to sleep. Its Totem Aura boosts all of its stats, so have fun trying to outspeed and overpower it. Thanks to these boosts, odds are it will survive to call another ally if you KO the first ally first. Thought you were going to be clever by bringing a Dark-type? Mimikyu has Play Rough to make short work of it.
- Unless you happened to pick Rowlet, then Totem Wishiwashi will be this. With decent bulk and sky-high offenses, it will blow holes in your team. All of its allies have Helping Hand to further boost said offenses, and it can also summon Alomomola, who can heal it. Thankfully, it loses its school form once it reaches 25% HP or lower, though Alomomola will usually heal it back up and restore its school form.
- Totem Lurantis can also be a complete pain. Its moveset includes hard hitting attacks like Solar Blade, which it can charge up in one turn because it holds a Power Herb, and X-Scissor. It also knows Synthesis, so it gains half of its HP back whenever it wants to. It will even call forth a Trumbeak that loves spamming Supersonic and Pluck. Thought that bringing a Bug type would be helpful against it? You're dead wrong. But the worst part if it calls a Castform. The Castform it calls know Headbutt, which is surprisingly powerful at that point in the game and can let it flinch you, Weather Ball, and Sunny Day. This means two things; First, it can take out most Bug types one might bring to beat it in one shot (Plus, if you chose Rowlet it can likely one shot that too). Secondly, it lets the Totem Lurantis heal 75% of its HP and use Solar Blade without wasting a turn or Power Herb.
On Literature A To L, edit The Acts of Caine with the following:
- The Acts of Caine: Berne distinguishes himself from other assassins, like Caine, by being a stone cold psychopath, torturer and rapist. We first see his insanity manifest when he kills a nonhuman prostitute for absolutely no reason, and he relentlessly hounds Caine and his allies with murder on his mind. Berne kills any of Caine's allies that he can and, at one point, tries to rape a captive man as an interrogation tactic. At the end of the day, Berne's only goal is to kill whom he can and get away with it. He especially wants a fight with Caine to satisfy his bloodlust.
And if merely having "translation" or a related word guarantees misuse, then that raises a big question considering we have several such tropes in which the word in question refers to in-universe translation.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. On Donald Trump please add a period to the end of the last sentence in the description section.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! For the Sword Art Online and Arrowverse captions, please put them in quotation marks. Everything else looks good
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsFilm F To O: In the Ken Castle entry under Gamer, please pothole "brainwash most of the planet" to Mass Hypnosis.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Please redirect Stage Parent and Stage Parents to Stage Mom.
We haven't allowed simple-pluralization redirects (i.e. just add "s" or "es" to the wikiword) since years ago.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. And while I wait for the possibility of reevaluating the case involving my remaining redirect requests from this post in light of what I've said in this one...
Please redirect Quintessential British Butler, Quintessential British Valet, and Quintessential British Manservant to The Jeeves (drawing on parallels to Quintessential British Gentleman, who is often served by The Jeeves).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.- 14853: Created the redirect for Language of Magic.
For My Hovercraft Is Full of Eels, it's going to be a no. The wording of "Accidentally Mistranslated Dialogue" makes it sound as though the dialogue is correctly said, but it is then mistranslated, while the trope is that there is an accurate translation of botched dialogue.
DTH.
... What do you mean "accurate translation of botched dialogue"? From what I've understood, the trope is about a character wanting to say something in a language other than the one they normall speak, and due to their poor grasp of the language (whether because they were taught it wrong, are relying on an inaccurate translation resource, or in case of languages like Chinese, unknowingly use a homophone instead of the word they should be using) they immensely botch the translation from their native language into the foreign language. That doesn't seem like "accurate translation of botched dialogue".
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. What the character says is what the character says. They say in French, "My hovercraft is full of eels", and the audience understands what they said accurately.
So, yes, the character who says it mistranslated it when speaking it, but it was not mistranslated by who the character is speaking to. Which is what Accidentally Mistranslated Dialogue seems to say. Either way, this conversation is demonstrating perfectly how Accidentally Mistranslated Dialogue is unclear as to who is doing the mistranslating.

for The Lonely Island, there is a trope Crying After Sex which applies to their song "I Just had Sex" since at one point one of the members mentions he was crying during the whole sex act
Provide the actual write-up, as if you were editing the page directly.
On Gundam, for the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam entries, fix this typo in Yazan Gable's entry:
"he does all of thisjust by the sheer force of his evil.
For Bask Om, remove the unnecessary italic in his entry.
Why so serious? On the Hollywood Tactics page, the mention of David Drake needs to be namespaced.
On the Pokémon That One Boss page, please add this to the section about Totem Lurantis at the end:
And just to add insult to injury, Totem Lurantis can also use Synthesis more times than is possible for the player tonote .
What unnecessary italics?
DTH.
Lots of editors like to italicize words in their writeups for overemphasis when it's often unnecessary. I don't believe it's technically breaking any rules, but it looks pretty dumb.
It should be easy to spot.
