Noteworthy Disney Staff: This page is massive. It's far too long, and it needs work. There are some ways I think we can go about fixing this (in approximate order of how they should be done).

I've moved the Disney + Nine Old Men folder to a separate page at The Walt Disney Family and the Nine Old Men.

  1. There's a lot of actors on there, I've started moving those to Noteworthy Disney Actors, but letting the ones who have done other things at Disney or who acted in very important things remain as duplicates.
  2. There's an issue with 'Notable' and 'Disney Staff' — that's what the page is for, and yet there are some people listed who did minor work on one television show that was made by a company that is now owned by Disney. I would not call them Disney staff. As for 'notable', well, some of the people who have done minor Disney work do have a page on here, which is notable enough. If you haven't really worked for Disney but close enough and don't have a TVT page, why on earth do you have an entry on that page? I could add myself by that logic. I think to really qualify, someone should have either A. a bonafide working relationship with the Disney corporation, so much so that they would be able to tell immigration officers that they work for Disney kind of close, OR B. a definite position having done work for a Disney company and a page on this wiki, but preferably they would have A and B.
  3. Following the separate page for actors, to make a separate page for Disney Legends.
  4. It's alphabeticised by first name, sometimes nickname. This needs to be sorted.
  5. Some of the descriptions attached to people are very poor. They should not be overly long, delve into anything unrelated, or be badly written.

Yeah, I agree. Have not done a major edit for the page in months except for adding the producer of Ratatouille, Brad Lewis, to the page.

Think he's relevant enough to be considered noteworthy disney staff?

Also, I think we should move this to short-term projects as Nombretomado suggested.

I'd already made it here before going to ATT, I felt like since it was so big and full of cruft, some constant maintenance might be necessary.

A lot of the edits were pretty old. The George Lucas one was there for at least a year.

The "alphabetization by first name" was done by someone on the former version of that page, which was a creator page. It was like that when I found that page. That page was cutlisted and deleted in Spring 2016, so I have no idea who started it.

My response to OP numbered for each of item in the OP's numbered list.

  1. I don't think that's a good idea to have duplicates. Innocent tropers may expand an entry on Page A but then not realize the example has another entry on Page B.
  2. I think there's a problem with this page and There Is No Such Thing as Notability. I think mere popularity (in this case, within the company or outside it) shouldn't be a factor here, but the person being on one project or something (like OP said) shouldn't be enough to count as being on this list.
  3. What would a "Disney Legend" be? Someone who is even more notable than "very notable"? I honestly do not understand the logic.
  4. Yup. Agreed.
  5. While I do agree with you, I'm only seeing one-line (very short) entries on the page. So, what would "overly long" be?

All that said, I just want to say that working on one film should not qualify (on its own) someone as "notable" for this page.

Moved this to short-term.

If we start on the main page, the biggest issue. Best thing to do is streamline it. That's making all entries very subjectively "this person has done this thing by Disney", unless it's significant at which point the significance gets explained. Unless you find one that has nearly no relation to Disney, which is either a simple cut or bring it here and ask the hive mind if they think it should be cut.

Then it's arrange the page properly.

[up][up]Oh, Disney Legends is an actual honor that's given to people who have worked with the company. Good point on the duplicates, actually. There were some Wall of Text entries that were mostly tangents or subjectivity that I have cut.

I'll take a whack at Folder A. I'll cut out entries that don't even mention the person's position at Disney, and anything that's fairly obviously insignificant. I'll post a list of those I think aren't significant in case I happen to be utterly wrong (though someone hosting the final season of a show probably won't be significant). I'll put anything back if it's actually significant to the company.

EDIT: Here's a list of the people I found who weren't really significant, imo. Just posting this as an early double-checking method. Basically, if they've only worked on one or two projects, or happened to be the president or VP, or an assistant to somebody, I cut them. This only includes those entries that I cut for being insignificant, but that happens to be most of my cuts in this case.

    Fairly Insignificant Entries in "A"
  • A. O. Scott: New York Times film critic who co-hosted the At The Movies program from Disney for its final season.
  • Aimee Scribner: A co-producer of Frozen Fever.
  • Al Bertino: Animator who worked on Pinocchio and Fantasia
  • Al Hirschfeld: The late artist was the artistic consultant on the Genie in Aladdin and the Rhapsody In Blue number in Fantasia 2000.
  • Al Hoffman: One of the music composers for Cinderella.
  • Al Perkins: One of the screenwriters for The Reluctant Dragon.
  • Alaina Yohe: Assistant digital production manager of Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  • Alan Barillaro: The director of the Pixar short Piper.
  • Alan Baumgarten: One of the editors of The Muppets.
  • Alan Burnett: The DC/Warner vet wrote a handful of Ducktales episodes and wrote the screenplay for that cartoon's theatrical adaptation, which is the only made-for-cinema project he's ever worked on (Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was meant to go Direct to Video before WB ordered it for the big screen.)
  • Albert Hurter: Character designer on Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.
  • Alice Dewey: The producer of Hercules and the production manager of Aladdin.
  • Alex Ebert: Music composer for Feast.
  • Alex Hirsch: The creator of Gravity Falls.
  • Alf Clausen: The composer provided orchestrations for Splash and helped arrange the second version of the Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers theme song.
  • Alfred "Tops" Cruz: The layout artist for the Mickey Mouse Mini Masterpiece Get A Horse!.
  • Amy Pell: Co-producer on Aladdin.
  • Andrea Van de Camp: Disney board member.
  • Andrea Warren: The producer of the Pixar short Lava.
  • Andrew Jimenez: Pixar short producer.
  • Andrew Kam: President of Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • Andrew Lacy: The former chief operating officer of Disney's Tapulous studio.
  • Andrew Page: Director of music production on Tarzan.
  • Andrew Sugarman: The executive vice president of Disney Publishing Worldwide.
  • Andrew Temesvary: Assistant to the producer of Lilo And Stitch.
  • Andy Bird: Chairman of Walt Disney International.
  • Andy Gaskill: Art director for The Lion King.
  • Andy Heyward: Main mind at Di C before, during, and after it was owned by Disney.
  • Ann Sorenson: Assistant supervisor of color models on Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  • Ann Tucker: A technical coordinator at Disney Animation.
  • Anne Gates: Former Disney executive, now with the Kroger grocery store chain.
  • Anne Marie Bardwell: Supervising animator for the character of Audrey in Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  • Anthony Connelly: Chief operating officer of the Disney Cruise Line.
  • Anthony Cookson: One of the second assistant directors for Never Cry Wolf.
  • Anthony Wayne Michaels: Lead animator of Sitka in Brother Bear.
  • Arden Chan: Layout supervisor for Lilo & Stitch.
  • Art Levitt: Former Disney Parks and Resorts vice president of resorts and special projects, and the former boss of the defunct Disney Regional Entertainment.
  • Art Rascon: Anchor at Houston's ABC station.
  • Arthur J. Vitarelli: The live-action second-unit director on Mary Poppins.
  • Artie Butler: Composed the musical score for The Rescuers.
  • Axel Alonso: The editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics.

Maybe keep Andy Bird: Chairman of Walt Disney International, given the fact he's chairman, if we can find something valuable to add to that (in charge of X, has contributed to Y). Otherwise... boy, the assistant to the second director, we'll miss you. And did one of those say that she now works at a grocery store?

There's also a few presidents and V Ps in there. So, chairman signifiant, pres. not so much? Also, yes, it has that much detail as to say where some of them went to work afterwards. I think that sort of information can go for being irrelevant to their time at Disney, since this is about the staff at Disney.

[down] People don't always realize how public their asides are. It's entirely possible that someone searched for this person in the deep web... or happened to know her in RL (or was her?). I'm not going to check, honestly.

How is the staff of Disney (or any other content producer) relevant to our site? Unless they qualify for a Creator article, there's no content worth preserving. Otherwise, why not make a page for everybody in Sony Pictures America, or Valve? It's a rabbit hole of pointlessness.

Just cut it down to people with pages who aren't actors (and that aren't shoehorned)? Anyone without a page that does seem of reasonable importance gets a commented out red link (Disney Legends, long time contributors, created things of importance).

Non-gratuitous non-actor people that are blue linked on Noteworthy Disney Staff:
