Hello all, it is my favorite time of year once again, and as we approach my favorite day I have only one thing to ask of all of you. Do you want to do something silly for this Halloween?

The Concept

Off in Angela, around a quiet town is a old mansion whose owners died recently, the place is up for sale but currently there are few buyers, as the place is more well known as a haunted spot. It's more popular as a exploration point and haunted house, it has a few inhabitants but one major individual, named Beetlegeuse.

Yes folks we are doing a Beetlegeuse plot, hopefully, I'll be working on the deets very soon but who wants in?

I've been meaning to try out another character... and so here's my proposal. Hopefully she'll have more potential for exciting plots and whatnot. :V

Name: Noémi Vega

Age: 46

Gender: Female

Ethnicity: Mexican, of mixed European/Native descent (Mestizo)

Appearance: Vega (not to be confused with the claw-wielding assassin or the psycho-powered dictator) is a rather short and squat middle-aged woman - at around 5'2'' - with dark skin and frizzy black hair that reaches just past her neck.

She typically dresses in a grungy, militaristic fashion; she usually dons a grimy green set of fatigues with the sleeves rolled up, with a single fingerless glove on her left hand, though she usually wears combat boot-sandals instead of plain boots. She's never seen without her trademark green beret, Aviators and her tall-collared poncho - a similar grimy shade of green as the rest of her ensemble - that she wears like a cape, slinging half of it behind her left arm to leave her right arm covered up. She was apparently inspired by the main character of some old Western movies who wore his poncho the same way.

She keeps her right arm covered because, due to an incident with an Eelektross, she's paralyzed on the entire right side of her body - she walks with a limp for the same reason, as she lacks much sensation in either of her right limbs.

Any ties to an organization: Was formerly the Champion of the Angela region; she doesn't maintain any ties with the Pokémon league, nor does she maintain any ties with the scattered remnants of Pokefutures, who endorsed her as Champion.

Region of origin: Currently lives out in the Angelan desert (and sometimes commutes into the nearby cities for work), though she was born and raised South of the Border.

Bio: Born into a poor family, Vega originally took up battling out of necessity; lacking any skills beyond attention to detail and an excellent throwing arm, she found she had the perfect toolset for seeking out and catching rare Pokémon. Battling alone didn't provide much in the way of a good income, however, and she soon turned to Pokémon seeking - that is, being hired to track down specific Wild Pokémon - for pay.

When she eventually made it to Angela, she found herself working for Pokefutures, the local corporate giant, hunting down whatever rare Pokémon they sought out for what she thought would be bog-standard research and marketing applications. Her connections with the company got her far in the local Pokémon League, and over a number of years she eventually became the region's Champion, though Pokémon seeking would remain her chief source of income.

It was during one job that she had a nasty run-in with an Eelektross she'd been sent to capture; lashing out in self-defence, it electrocuted her almost to death. She survived - though she had to take a few month's leave, claiming she'd 'dropped her toaster in the sink', because for some reason Pokefutures wanted her to keep quiet about her work with them - but she never fully recovered, being badly paralyzed on the right side of her body.

During this time, she traveled to Azalea Town in the Johto Region to meet the renowned Poké Ball specialist Kurt, and learn how to make Poké Balls from Apricorns, to make her job easier after the Eelektross incident. Unlike Kurt, Vega's custom Poké Balls are subject to Crippling Overspecialization, being geared towards specific categories of Pokémon but being useless on anything else; this prevented her from making a significant inroad into the Poké Ball industry, dominated as it is by vast corporations who can do the same thing much faster.

When PEFE blew the lid on Pokefutures' true activites in the region, Vega - who had no knowledge of the nasty experiments the company had been running - was horrified at the part she had unwittingly played. Calls were made to have her arrested and put on trial for aiding Pokefutures' experiments, and also to have her Champion status revoked due to the influence Pokefutures had played in getting her there in the first place. Ultimately, the charges against her weren't pressed, but she was forced to step down as Champion. She was still undefeated at the time.

Since then, she's gone into seclusion in the Angelan desert, living in an RV, and she's gone back to working as a Pokémon Seeker (her license wasn't revoked on the grounds that the contracts Pokefutures had placed were 100% legal, and the parties responsible for posting them had already been prosecuted). She also grows her own Apricorns and maintains a side-business building custom Poké Balls to order, and sometimes makes Aprijuice from the leftovers of the Poké Ball production process.

Vega specializes in Normal-type Pokémon, as she believes they are more reliable and versatile than any other type. Because she's been training for a long time, her team has rotated a fair bit. She used to have quite a few Mons, but after she stepped down as Champion, she released all of them but her core battling team. The three Pokémon that have been with her since before she became Champion - Maria-Dos, Gallardo and Elgato - are known as Los Viejos (The Old Ones), while the other three are Los Jóvenes (The Young Ones).

Species: Kangaskhan

Nickname: Maria-Dos

Gender: Female

Ability: Early Bird

Personality/Bio: Maria-Dos is the daughter of Maria, formerly the oldest member of Vega's team before she passed away not too long ago. She's probably the most like her trainer; focused and confident in her abilities, but with a silly streak (in her case, a love of bad puns). However, she's not nearly as cynical as Vega is, often admonishing her to return to the public eye and do some good. Despite her Normal-typing, she has a preference for Fighting-type attacks.

Species: Bouffalant

Nickname: Gallardo

Gender: Male

Ability: Reckless

Personality/Bio: Despite his ability, and belonging to a notoriously aggressive species, Gallardo is probably the most laid-back and easygoing of Los Viejos. A notably spiritual and philosophical fellow who prefers to go with the flow, saving all his energy for when he needs it; and when he needs it, it's released with devastating force.

Species: Zangoose

Nickname: Elgato

Gender: Male

Ability: Immunity

Personality/Bio: Elgato is currently the oldest surviving member of Vega's team after the original Maria passed away, though he's still a fair bit younger than she was, and just barely older than Vega herself. Bit of a grouch who likes getting smashed and hates getting hugged, and is quick to suggest violence as the solution to any problem. 'Elgato' is actually a shortening of his full name, which he rarely uses as it's a reference to a 'lowbrow kid's movie about an Ogre'.

Species: Kecleon

Nickname: Che-Che

Gender: Male

Ability: Colour Change

Personality/Bio: Che-Che is noted as something of a hard-to-read figure, fitting given his species; he can be quiet and anxious one second, and wacky and wisecracking the next. It seems his personality varies somewhat depending on what type he currently is due to his Colour Change, and it's not entirely clear if it's an act or not. He's also the party's chief berry conoisseur.

Species: Exploud

Nickname: Angel

Gender: Female

Ability: Soundproof

Personality/Bio: In stark contrast to her name, Angel is something of a Ladette, and not the graceful sort. She eats a tonne, speaks loudly and bluntly, loves getting into casual battles and is very fond of her trainer's Soda Pops. She gets along with Elgato for these reasons.

Species: Lopunny

Nickname: Miguel

Gender: Male

Ability: Limber

Personality/Bio: Despite being the youngest member of Vegas' team, Miguel is probably the most serious and no-nonsense of the bunch, and is even noted as having no sense of humour, with an overly-literal mind that means most jokes fall flat when attempted on him. Never mistake him for a girl.

None of these Pokémon were her starter; her original starter from way back when was a Dunsparce called, rather imaginatively, Dun. He has long since been released back into the wild.

Alright so some of you may or may not have noticed that I have left the Discord channel. I'm quitting the RP for the foreseeable future and also these forums. Granted I'm about as active as a cicada (Nincada?) on here anyways so no real big change on my end.

Why am I leaving?

Well it's a mix of personal reasons and background drama. Work takes up a lot of my time and often I need to use my free time for other things. As well I don't actually feel welcome in the community anymore. Dealings with various people have lead me to believe that despite being here for so long most people only tolerate me at arms length rather than value me as an actual person, evident by various things like ignoring P Ms when I have issues, refusing to accept friend requests, etc. Several occasions I have called out to the community asking if there's anything I could change about my behaviours but I received very little aid.

But maybe that's mostly my fault. Maybe I am too abrasive or judgemental, or maybe I just didn't participate in the RP with enough frequency to develop a rapport with some of you. Either way I don't feel like you are my friends.

I did have some good experiences in the RP and I hope that maybe there were moments where some of you appreciated me being here. But now it's just time for me to move on. Will this be forever? I dunno. Will I be in the discord again? If I'm up to it and you'll have me, then yes. Will I be on these forums again? Probably not for anything not WAAPT related, but there's the possibility that I could be back here.

Now as for some plot threads that need tying....

Shocking absolutely nobody Lita was Des's futurekid from a bad future where the J-Dan took control of the world and she was sent back to prevent it, only she wound up in the wrong timeline or something. Also she was a Steel-type auramancer. The old woman she met was Des's mom (of course she was). As for the Big D himself he's been embezzling money and resources from Mobius during his stint there and he's now establishing the Rough Riders as their own autonomous organisation who ride pokemon and generally do humanitarian work. Do with them as you will. Des as his fam are gonna fade off into the sunset and grow vegetables or something.

As for me I'm officially retired. If you wish to keep in contact friend me on Discord. I hope when you think about me you remember the ill deeds and the good and judge me accordingly.

Reynard Albright's Pokemon

Today a virtual monotyper, Reynard has kept charge over numerous Pokemon over the course of his lifetime.

Primo (Official Starter)

Species: Gengar (Butterfree prior to death in 1982)
Gender: Male
Ability: Cursed body

Reynard found Primo as a caterpie in 1942, who served as his main companion throughout his tumultuous years as a messenger for the [Italian Resistance] in [World War II] and in his brief flirtation with the mafia in the early 1950s. Retaining his carefree and sociable persona long after his death, he is one of Reynard’s oldest friends and acts as a confidante and wingman. He broke the typical mold of his species and became a self-styled family man and is protective of both the Albright family and his own (a colony of butterfree established by him and his mate in a cacao plantation in Valencia Island). After his death, he appeared in the Albright doorstep as a gastly, where he explained everything that happened. It took awhile for everyone to be okay with the whole thing.

Bella (de facto starter)

Species: Skiddo (Deceased, 1942)
Gender: Female
Ability: Sap sipper

Bella was part of a small herd of gogoats raised by the Albright family on the outskirts of Alto Mare. Bella herself was delivered and largely cared for by Reynard for the first year or two of her life, and they became inseparable friends thereafter. Affectionate if a bit gluttonous, the sprightly Bella provided young Reynard with comfort after his father was murdered… until the Fascist Army seized the Albright herd, to be served at the table of "Il Douche" for a lavish dinner he had with representatives of the [Axis]. Il Douche had stomach upsets and unspeakable diarrhea not long after. Reynard's ill-fated attempt to save her helped him find a caterpie.

Giacoma

Species: Milotic
Gender: Female
Ability: Competitive

A go-getter of a milotic, Giacoma serves as part pet, part caregiver for her aged trainer. Much more than a pretty form, she takes great pride in her abilities and enjoys winning battles for Reynard (and making sure he takes his meds on time). Remarkably intelligent even for her species, she asked Reynard to teach her how to read and then started reading up on human psychology. She often works as either a therapy mon or a therapist. She grew up as a feebas that was won in the county fair and has largely considered herself as belonging to the Albrights as a whole, though she does admit to be especially fond of Gavin, who was her primary caregiver.

Kipper

Species: Wishiwashi
Gender: Male
Ability: Schooling

The assertive and confrontational Kipper is the self-proclaimed leader of a school of wishiwashi called Blue October. He is held in general high regard by all his schoolmates… and by literally nobody else. He is not happy about this.

Lucrezia and Alfonso

Species: Mantine (Lucrezia) and Remoraid (Alfonso)
Gender: Female (Lucrezia) and Male (Alfonso)
Ability: Water absorb (Lucrezia) and Sniper (Alfonso)

Lucrezia and Alfonso are almost never found apart. This duo does almost everything in a carefully coordinated manner, up until and including their policy for finding mates (they only want to find another mantine paired with a remoraid). Despite this, they are also prone to incessant arguing due to fundamental personality differences: Lucrezia prefers solving her problems with finesse while Alfonso likes More Dakka.

Jack

Species: Wishiwashi
Gender: Male
Ability: Schooling

The newest member of Blue October, Jack was drawn to the shoal because he fell head-over-heels in love with Rose, Kipper's daughter. This did not endear him well to the rest of the shoal, at least at first.

Professor Conroy Hawthorn

Age: 42
Ethnicity: White Unovan
Appearance: Lithe, lean man with short, platinum blond hair who dresses as an academic. Has a prosthetic left arm.
Gender: Male
Region of Origin: Castelia City, Unova
Affiliation: Pokémon professor, Unovan Museum of Natural History; former advisor to Pokefutures (1998, left due to ethical concerns c. 2002); Devon Corporation R&D (Former research team member, 1993 to 1997, re-hired as a scientific consultant, 2002 to present)

Biography
A paleobiologist and geneticist currently working at the Unovan Museum of Natural History, he has mostly focused his energies on researching ways to reconstruct paleoenvironments for fossil Pokémon and thus improve their care standards. He spearheaded the digs at the Sturgess Shales north of Angela, which contained some of the oldest Pokémon fossils known to science, with some coming from taxa that has yet to be formally described.

One of his students was Thomas Petersen, who he described as "brilliant and very friendly, but amazingly scatterbrained, not too unlike myself." He wrote him a very generous recommendation letter to the Geographic Society, which has him on as a regular. He is considered an oddball among professors as he had a brief stint as a nudist.

Due to a complicated issue early in his career, he ended up occasionally transforming into a Charizard, which he has usually kept a secret from everyone. This once got into a conflict with Arachna-Guy back before he could control it, who managed to calm him down long enough to be told to "flee upstate and not bother anyone." After realizing that the new clothes he bought at this shop from a funny salesman named Bartleby managed to not tear up when he transforms, he later claims that he has become a cosplayer, a hobby he eventually tried out for real.

Besides his interest in paleontology, he is an avid amateur historian and archeologist and is good friends with people from the anthropology department. A widower, he once lived with his daughter Stephanie, who now attends university in Angela.

Professor Hawthorn's Pokémon

Sir Guiscard (Gramps)

Species: Honedge (Human in a previous life)

Gender: Male

Ability: No Guard

Professor Hawthorn's ancestor, Sir Guiscard was once a 15th Century knight who lived in rural Kalos. Having come along with a few late medieval period artifacts donated to the UMNH's anthropology collection, he has since become his descendant's constant companion. He had described himself as a gallant fighter who adhered to the codes of chivalry, regaling his descendant and his colleagues with tales of the thieves and abominations he brought to justice and innocent lives he saved. The verifiable ones turned out to be true.

Robbie

Species: Kabuto

Gender: Male

Ability: Battle armor

Robbie is one of several kabuto cloned from Dome Fossil 28, the only specimen from the Sturgess Shales with salvageable DNA. Rather than stay with his colony of siblings or go with Professor Conroy's students like his brother Shinji, he decided to live alongside Professor Hawthorn. He is pleasant and milquetoast and rarely goes to battle himself, instead more eager to please as a lab assistant.

Chris (Starter)

Species: Archeops

Gender: Male

Ability: Defeatist

Chris is a second-generation Archeops, born not from a cloned fossil but from a pair of Archeops that laid a clutch of eggs at the Nacrene Museum. A bit silly in many respects, he is known to dazzle his opponents by moving slowly from side-to-side with his wings outstretched. He also enjoys music from the 1970s and 1980s, which make him bob his head around while perching.

Meaghan

Species: Tyrantrum

Gender: Female

Ability: Rock head

Much like Chris, Meaghan was not a fossil clone but a second-generation specimen bred from one of the earliest established breeding tyrantrum pairs. Her egg was given to Professor Hawthorn as a gift from the Devon Corporation, who he has worked loyally from 1993 to 1997 and again in 2002. His main "battling" mon, Meaghan is more bestial than her other counterparts and tends to only calm down around Professor Hawthorn. Incidentally, she can recognize him even in his Pokéform, which he uses to his advantage when training her.

Cammy

Species: Anorith

Gender: Female

Ability: Battle Armor

The youngest of Hawthorn's mons, Cammy was cloned from an anorith fossil from a slightly younger formation close to the Sturgess Shales whose fossils were only recently found to be cloneable. The new anorith seemed to have vague memories of its donor's past life, in contrast to the mons cloned from Dome Fossil 28, which seemed to indicate that they've only ever known being alive in the 21st Century. A cooperative experiment participant, she's mostly content to living in her climate-controlled tank at the museum and is very fond of visiting children. Her memories are said to be a great help in establishing an accurate picture of Early Cambrian anorith.

Name: Theodora Williams, Esq.

Age: 28 (physically stuck in this age)

Gender: Female

Ethnicity: [Very British]

Appearance: A pale, brown-haired [European] woman of aristocratic lineage, Theodora has the outward appearance of an elegant and proper 19th Century noblewoman, wearing an outfit very clearly based on the styles popular during the 1890s. On occasion, she would take on accessories of a "quaint yet strangely appealing modern mechanistic aesthetic" to keep up with the times.

Any ties to an organization: Unovan Bar of Lawyers. Her uncle was also a Pokémon professor who happened to be traveling across the world. She also notes that a version of her eventually married, with her daughter being a key member of what would be the Ranger Union.

Region of origin: Castelia City, Unova, though born elsewhere.

Biography
A lawyer and engineer from a time long past, the brilliant inventor Theodora had discovered a way to traverse through timelines, validating her father's theories. Her expertise in mechanics and law have helped her out of scrapes throughout her excursions in time.

She was trained in the classics at a young age and was initially groomed by her relatives, especially her domineering Aunt Coraline, to be the bride of some stuffy academic nobleman. She eventually pledged to move to Unova to where her Uncle Maximilian worked, where she eventually took up the law program, one of the few available to women at the time in the region.

After spending what felt like several decades exploring the time stream and discovering the destinies of many events, she decided to intervene in the course of history, believing it to be in the best interests of future generations. Her meddling with the time stream, however, has earned her the ire of a few other time-travelers.

She travels in what appears to be a telephone booth, "one of Mr. [Gray's] wonderful inventions," which is remarkably roomy on the inside.

Personality
On the surface, she presents herself as a typical [British] aristocrat, haughty, elegant, and almost always seen with a cup of tea. A second glance confirms this. She is a stolid academic and excellent conversationalist. Despite her traditionalist trappings, she fancies herself a true scientist and barrister and stays updated on the changing laws and expanding body of knowledge, something that her nemeses at the IDPD know all too well.

How she adapts to culture, however, varies; she's come to love the growing popularity of a certain science fiction subculture in the 2010s yet seems to think that the culture of the Early 1990s is ''most excellent'' (Air Guitar).

One would not be faulted for thinking that her upper crust upbringing makes her a prudish and joyless. "That's my Aunt Coraline," she would be quick to correct. She is especially fond of cameras and posing for funny pictures.

She does occasionally break out into almost stereotypical bouts of cultural insensitivity known from her time period (especially toward Kalosians), though it is unknown if she sincerely holds them.

Theodora's Roster

Hogarth (Starter)

Species: Steelix

Gender: Male

Ability: Sturdy

Once an Onix owned by her uncle, Hogarth was gifted to her when she first started exploring the backwoods of Unova on his scientific expeditions. The gallant Hogarth is gentle toward others when not ordered to attack and is dedicated to "the madame" and her continued safety.

Henry

Species: Metagross

Gender: Genderless, male personality

Ability: Clear Body

Styling himself as the Madame's "esteemed colleague," Henry thinks of himself as an Adventurer Archaeologist and is keen on rediscovering and reclaiming his past heritage. An erudite figure, he has found the madame's acquisition of a translating device to be quite fortuitous. She couldn't agree more.

Ada

Species: Klinklang

Gender: Genderless, female personality

Ability: Plus or Minus

Ada was acquired in one of her excursions to Nacrene City in the 1940s, where she once lived in a printing press. She still feels like she's in a pulp adventure come to life and is grateful for her new gal pal for the opportunity to take a more proactive stance in shifting the gears of time. She alone addresses the madame in casual terms: She calls her Teddy.

Ewan

Species: Lucario

Gender: Male

Ability: Inner focus

Ewan is the Madame's main errand boy and the only one among her roster to have dexterity that matches a human's. Although he gives the impression of a spineless yes-man, he does have a sense of biting sarcasm that, in the madame's opinion, keeps her grounded and not mad with power. Besides this, however, he seems way too on board with his mistress' desire to change the time stream "for the better."

While I've mentioned this in Spectra Castle already in case people missed it one of my cousins died via getting hit by a train last Thursday and the funeral's tomorrow so I probably won't be around that much on Saturday, and potentially Sunday as well since I don't know if we'll be spending the night because Rochester's 6 hours from here.

Hey, so, one of the things I've had on the back burner for a while was the idea of a Distortion World visit and miniplot, and I think I want to start working toward actually developing that idea. Unfortunately, as of recently it's been fairly clear that I simply don't have the creative energy to develop the plot alone, and will definitely need help.

As it stands, there is currently a hook for the plot. PRIMA-1, the glitch from the Metroid Prime arc, fused with the Samus from that arc and escaped to the Distortion World, and is currently the last remnant of the Re:Glitch arc left unchecked. Presumably, a big part of the plot will be trying to snuff PRIMA-1 out.

It won't be a direct Metroid Prime 2 arc, but I do intend to adapt some world concepts from the game to help flesh out the Distortion World as a whole. One of the the main things is that, like MP 2's Dark Aether, areas in the Distortion World are covered in Obscuric gas so thick that it hurts to breathe; surprisingly, this is actually supported in the Giratina Movie, where the Reverse World reflects imbalances in the prime material plane by manifesting toxic gas. Since the multiverse is kinda torn asunder right now, obviously there's going to be a lot of this gas around. As another MP 2 tie, there'll be crystals that repel the gas enough that people can recover and breathe while nearby.

The other idea I had was that this could help set up one point for the Rainbow Rocket arc — specifically, due to PRIMA-1's interference, Cyrus manages to escape his timelocked prison, disappearing until the RR arc finally comes and he appears again as the Cyrus representative in the ranks.

I do have one more general idea I've shared with Umbra, but I'd like to keep that a surprise (except with those who are helping develop the arc) until it happens :P
