Underpants is a Webtoon created by Sr. Pelo, which is a parody of Undertale's various endings. The plot of each ending follows the same one as the game, but the events that happen are what makes this series stick out from the rest. Notable for being really weird, but hilarious. Because of this, the animations are full of spoilers (as indicated next to the title). You can find all of the episodes right here.
All spoilers for Undertale will be unmarked! You Have Been Warned!
DON'T YOU WANNA TOUCH THE TROPES!?
- A God Am I: At one point, Photoshop Flowey says to Frisk "You can't kill me! I AM A GOD! I HAVE NETFLIX!"
- Ambiguous Gender: Lampshaded when the souls refer to Frisk as both "him" and "her". Although, Sans refers to Frisk as a "he" after Frisk spares him in the Genocide Ending.
- Ass Shove: Happens twice during Frisk's Humiliation Conga in the Genocide Ending. The first time, Frisk's reaction is the same as any other of Sans' attacks. The second time around, right after Sans calls them someone who would never be satisfied, Frisk seemingly enjoys it. Sans is disgusted, of course. You can probably tell what Sr. Pelo's reaction was.
- Author Avatar: Pelo appears quite often — it's implied he is the Player.
- April Fools' Day: The "Genocide" Ending is just a repeated animation of a weird-looking Sans (called SANAESSSS) while a version of Megalovania sung by Sr. Pelo (titled Mogolovonio) plays in the background. The real Genocide Ending was then released months later.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: In the True Pacifist Ending, when the monsters see the surface, they see war, disasters, pollution, Donald Trump, and the Undertale fandom.
- Berserk Button: The monsters hate it when someone harms Frisk. They'll believe anyone if they say a certain person is touching Frisk. This includes Asgore, Flowey, David (Sr. Pelo) and Sans (even though Sans was justified in killing Frisk).
- Butt-Monkey: Frisk suffers through several Amusing Injuries in nearly every episode. The Genocide Ending takes this even further.
- Call-Back: 2 in the Genocide Ending to the fake Genocide Ending. Both involving SANESSSS. They are both triggered when given the option to spare Sans:
- If No is selected, SANESSSS appears for brief seconds when Sans states that they'll have food, keep watching, laughing, and making more memes.
- If Yes is selected, after Sans wakes up for the third time, he sees SANESSSS next to him and gets his eye impaled by a bone shot by a gun, and then gets disintigrated by the Tom Blaster.
- Calling Your Attacks: Sans calls his last volley of attacks the "Sans Dance"... at the top of his lungs.
- Catchphrase: "Too bad!" is this for Flowey.
- Deranged Animation: This is Sr. Pelo, what do you expect?
- Dream Within a Dream: Sans goes through these in the Spare option of the Genocide Ending.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The Normal Ending is about 2 minutes long and not as loud as future videos.
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: In the Genocide Ending, Flowey says that creatures like him and Frisk wouldn't hesitate to kill if either of them got in the other's way… as he's standing in Frisk's way. His first words after he fully realizes this are "Oh, shit...".
- Fun with Subtitles: Yes, as with most Sr. Pelo videos. For example, whenever there's loud yelling, it usually is put as [PAIN] in the subtitles.
- Hahaha No: Sr. Pelo's Author Avatar starts laughing after the game crashes itself when he dies to Photoshop (Omega) Flowey, only to start slamming his hands on the desk.
- Hates Being Touched: In both the True Pacifist and Genocide Endings, if someone touches Frisk, many monsters appear out of nowhere and start to smack someone who touches Frisk. Flowey, Sans, Asgore, and even Sr. Pelo learned that the hard way."WHO'S TOUCHIN' DA CHILD?!"
- Humiliation Conga: Frisk goes through this in the Genocide Ending.
- Knight of Cerebus:
- Chara is a parody of this, and would be played straight if not for their comedic moments and David's incessant screaming.
- Underpants - 17 firmly cements W.D. Gaster as one of these.
- Lame Pun Reaction:
- Sans calling himself a "Sans-sation" gives Sr. Pelo pain, even though it makes the game's other characters laugh.
- Papyrus exclaims a Big "NO!" after Frisk announces, "Here's a joke!"
- Loudness War: Again, this is Sr. Pelo, would you expect otherwise?
- Mirthless Laughter: In the Neutral Ending video, Sr. Pelo engages in a bout of this, before devolving into a fit of screaming and smacking his desk angrily. (Some more.)
- No Holds Barred Beat Down: The monsters give this to anyone who touches Frisk.
- One-Hit Kill: Sparing Sans in the Genocide Ending, of course. Instead of impaling Frisk with a bunch of bones like in the original however, he slides one through the back of their head after tucking them into bed.
- Reaction Shot: Used several times, cutting outside of the "gameplay" to show Pelo's reactions to the game he is playing.
- Running Gag:
- Papyrus becoming Waluigi.Papyrus: Hello, human! It is I... WALUI- *Boop*
- Also, Frisk (after talking about Papyrus) and Sans becoming Waluigi and Wario respectively in the Genocide Ending.
- DON'T TOUCH THE CHILD.
- Whenever Sr. Pelo gets angry at the game, he breaks down into fits of angry screaming, while beating his own desk.
- Nearly every major character cries at some point, and it is always Inelegant Blubbering.
- Papyrus becoming Waluigi.
- Shout-Out:
- In the Pacifist Ending, when Flowey shocks everyone, the X-Ray Sparks on Sans show Ness, a reference to Game Theory's "Sans is Ness" theory.
- In the Genocide Ending, during the Humiliation Conga that Frisk goes through, when they're burnt, the subtitles read PAIN-T.
- Shown Their Work: Sans' final attack in the Genocide Ending is nearly identical to its original counterpart. Sans also shambles off screen exactly like he does in the original after he's finally slain.
- Slasher Smile: Frisk gives one in the Genocide Ending when they're about to kill a sleeping Sans. They failed. ...Or did they?
- Smash Cut: Used alot, as with many Sr. Pelo videos.
- Sensory Abuse: Many scenes had too many ear rapes throughout the episodes.
- Suddenly Shouting: It's a Sr. Pelo video. This was bound to happen.
- Stylistic Suck: SANESSSS, a poorly drawn and poorly animated version of Sans. His theme music, Mogolovonio, is Megalovania, only "sung" by Sr. Pelo himself.
