Bloo plans to play the ultimate trick on Halloween, but things go awry and he ends up unleashing a zombie apocalypse.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Accidental Murder: Bloo believes he accidentally killed Mr. Herriman because his Halloween prank was so scary.
  • All Just a Prank: It turns out, Bloo never actually killed Mr. Herriman and there were never any zombies. It was just a trick they pulled in order to give Bloo A Taste of His Own Medicine.
  • Body Wipe:
    • When Eduardo hears Frankie come back in the house, he runs screaming her name
    • Then Bloo and Coco follow him.
    • Ed, Bloo, and Coco altogether as they run to the foyer.
  • Brick Joke: One Eye Cy decides to go trick-or-treating as Blossom from The Powerpuff Girls, which just so happens to be Frankie’s costume as well. This leads to Cy walking away muttering "I should have gone as Bubbles..." In all later scenes he appears in, he's dressed as Bubbles.
  • Call-Back:
  • Chained to a Bed: In a non-romantic variation, Bloo ties Mac to a bed to keep him from eating a bunch of Halloween candy and going into one of his crazed sugar highs.
  • Deadly Prank: Bloo thinks his Jump Scare prank scared Mr. Herriman so badly that it gave him a heart attack and killed him.
    • This ends up being subverted when it turns out in the end that Herriman wasn't dead and that the zombie invasion was all an elaborate prank to get back at Bloo.
  • Death Glare: Mac gives Bloo one after Bloo asks if he can bring him anything and everything he lists has sugar in it.
  • Door Handle Scare: When Bloo is alone in the house, the handle on the front door starts shaking before it bursts open to reveal…Wilt and Coco coming back in from handing out candy.
  • Dwindling Party: Bloo’s friends all get turned into zombies one by one.
  • Eat the Camera: Mac does this while screaming as Bloo is about to force-feed him candy.
  • Elmuh Fudd Syndwome: Bloo uses this combined with Puppy-Dog Eyes when he asks Mr. Herriman to open his can of peanut brittle.
  • The Executioner: Bloo dresses as one and raises a giant ax above his head, making it look like he’s about to execute a tied-up Mac. In a Bait-and-Switch however, it’s revealed that he was just using the ax to cut a sandwich.
  • Failed Attempt at Scaring: Wilt tries to scare some trick-or-treaters by wearing a fake arm and having it fall off when he hands them their candy, but they’re far from impressed.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: When a sugar-crazed Mac attacks all the zombies, Zombie!Eduardo is actually shown flinching and bracing himself for Mac’s attack, indicating that the zombie apocalypse was only a prank just before Mr. Herriman reveals the truth to Bloo.
  • Furniture Blockade: Bloo, Coco, and Eduardo barricade themselves in a room, only to find that they’ve locked themselves in with the zombies.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: While Eduardo is having a breakdown and speaking in Spanish about how he doesn’t want to be a zombie, Bloo slaps him and tells him to get a hold of himself - he even does so in Spanish!
    Bloo: Controla te hombre!
  • Gone Horribly Right: The zombie prank ends up being so believable that Bloo gets desperate enough to give Mac some candy so he can go on a sugar rush and fight them off.
  • Halloween Episode: Bloo thinks one of his Halloween pranks has killed Mr. Herriman and that he’s come back from the dead.
  • Never My Fault: The rest of the house act like it's Bloo's fault for unleashing a sugar-crazed Mac on trick-or-treaters, but Bloo only did that because they went too far in making him think he and Mac were being attacked by zombies.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Bloo refuses to leave the house and escape the zombies without going back for Mac, who is still tied up and locked in a bedroom.
Bloo: We leave no man behind! Especially my best friend!
  • Of Corpse He's Alive: Bloo has to pretend that Mr. Herriman is alive as he takes his body through the house in order to bury him in the backyard.
  • Ominous Knocking: The zombified imaginary friends pound on the door of the room Bloo and Mac have locked themselves in before Mr. Herriman finally punches through it.
  • Overly Long Gag: Of Bloo and Eduardo taking turns screaming after they scare each other by hiding in the same closet.
  • Perplexing Plurals: Bloo can’t quite figure out what the plural of zombie is:
    Bloo: Zombies? zombi? zombeses?
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: A play on A Nightmare on Elm Street.
  • The Prankster: Bloo’s favorite part about Halloween isn’t the treats, but rather the tricks.
Bloo: How can I pass up a chance to trick all I want and not get in trouble?!
  • Raised Hand of Survival: After Bloo does a poor job of burying Mr. Herriman, he leaves to go trick-or-treating and Mr. Herriman’s hand shoots up out of the dirt.
  • Running Gag: The other characters having flashbacks to the last time Bloo used his peanut brittle can prank and all the chaos it caused.
  • Scared of What's Behind You: Wilt thinks he’s finally scared some trick-or-treaters with his fake arm prank, but really they were afraid of the Mr. Herriman and Madame Foster zombies creeping up behind him.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Bloo’s Halloween costume in a Flashback was Mojo Jojo from The Powerpuff Girls.
      • Frankie is going as Blossom for the current year’s Halloween. To One Eye Cy’s dismay, he also chose Blossom as his Halloween costume and has to switch to Bubbles instead.
    • Mabel Licorice is dressed as Batman.
    • Pinecone Cola is dressed as Huckleberry Hound.
    • Wilt opens the door to three trick-or-treaters who are dressed as the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz.
    • In a flashback, Madame Foster is dressed as Yoda from Star Wars and Frankie is dressed as Tank Girl.
  • Skewed Priorities: Bloo is more concerned about getting in trouble than the fact that he (seemingly) killed someone.
  • Sugar Causes Hyperactivity: Hyperactive would be an understatement for what Mac becomes after he eats sugar.
  • Three-Dimensional Episode: The way the episode originally aired.
  • Time for Plan B: Bloo moves on to plan B after he can’t bring himself to give Mr. Herriman CPR. His plan B consists of beating on Herriman’s chest and yelling at him to live.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: While Bloo was being annoying people with his old "snake in the can" prank, and cared more about getting in trouble for supposedly killing Mr. Herriman, the "Zombie Apocalypse" that happens has noticeably brought out the best in him, as he tries to prevent as many friends as he can from becoming one of them, to unfortunately so little avail that he and Mac are the only "survivors" in the house. And speaking of Mac, he also refuses to leave the house without his creator (and best friend), knowing Mac's been tied up and rendered helpless against the "zombies". His buzzing Mac on sugar was not meant to cause chaos, but to make sure he had the energy boost he needed for both of them to escape unharmed. Sadly, this reasoning doesn't spare Bloo from punishment.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: The Creative Closing Credits scene has Mac wake up in the morning after his sugar-crazed frenzy, horrified to find himself in his underwear and wondering what he's done. Wilt arrives to put on his fake arm as Mac faints.
  • Worthy Opponent: Upon learning that the whole zombie apocalypse was a prank by the house orchestrated by Mr. Herriman, Bloo admits that it was well-played and congratulates Herriman.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: Mr. Herriman comes back to life and starts biting everyone in Foster’s Home, turning them into zombies as well. Or so it seems...
