  • Malicious Slander: In My ex was telling lies about me behind my back, so I…, Mayu dumps Satoshi and accuses him of being an abusive delinquent before hooking up with a CEO named Ryo Akagi, whom she also dumped and accused of being a gambling maniac. Thankfully, her slander comes back to bite her at Shuichi's revenge party, where Satoshi reveals himself as a police officer to whom Akagi reported her and arrests her. Later, Mayu worked nonstop to pay the 5 million yen settlement offered by Akagi. Eventually, her constant begging for money turned her friends and family away.
  • Media Scrum: This story features one in Chiyo's wedding, when a heavily drunk guest said something about the groom being involved in a corruption scandal.
  • Miles Gloriosus:
    • Sano keeps bragging about how he's a former gang member and uses that fact to bully his subordinates. When he poured beer on Maina, she revealed that she was a former delinquent and gave him a good scare, forcing him to admit that it was all a lie.
    • Aori claims to be a former leader of a street racing gang to make himself look cool in front of his co-workers, however he turns out to be full of crap as he was easily scared when Tsuchiya drives the car erratically to teach him a lesson. The incident turns Aori into a laughing stock by his co-workers after Tsuchiya showed the footage of him to them.
    • Tatsuma claims to be the son of a Yakuza member to force the employees at the office to let him use the parking lot, but Oshima threatens to call the police on him for calling himself a yakuza. Tatsuma's father later comes to the office to apologize, while it is true he was a yakuza member, but he quit the gang long time ago due to his imprisonment. When Tatsuma's father finds out that he was using his former status as a yakuza to intimidate other people, he immediately scolds him for it.
  • Mistaken for Cheating:
    • "My wife was cheating on me and when I demanded a divorce…": Takuya suspects that his wife was cheating on him with another man. When he attempts to divorce her after gathering enough evidence, however, Megumi reveals that the man was actually Takuya's brother who asked her to help him out after his business tanked. To make things worse for Takuya, Megumi is also aware of his own affair with another woman from the seminar.
    • "The result of looking into my husbands affair": Shiho thinks that her husband Koji was cheating on her with another woman after finding unusual stuff in his bag, causing her to get a private investigator to investigate him. However, the investigator tells Shiho that she and Koji are never married, revealing her as Koji's affair partner because he lies to her about being not married, and the woman also turns out to be Koji's real wife and they already have a child.
    • "My girlfriend who had left me after we got in an argument and confessed to me...": After Yamato was hospitalized due to cancer, several rumors sprang up about his girlfriend Misuzu cheating on him with other men. Even Reiko, who is Misuzu's best friend began to believe the rumors especially after she kept seeing her with other men. However, it later turned out that the men that were supposedly Misuzu's were actually Yamato's relatives and she was helping them. Reiko was able to talk to Misuzu and apologized to her for suspecting her for cheating.
    • "My wife was going out a lot lately…So I followed her, but then…": Fumito thinks Nanako is cheating on him because she started going out a lot and his sister Rio also saw her walking together with another guy. To find out the truth, Fumito decides to follow her secretly to the meeting location, which is in the mountain. However, he finds out only that the man who he thought Nanako cheating with is actually a woman and the reason Nanako started going out because she had lot of meetings with her friends about their favorite anime.
    • "I was hiding with my son for a surprise to my wife and when she came home…": Shinya becomes suspicious that his wife Tomoe is cheating on him after he noticed her strange behavior. One day, when Shinya and his son Yusuke prepare for his wedding anniversary, Tomoe brings a man inside their house, causing Shinya to confront them about their affair immediately. However, the man turns out to be one of Tomoe's best friends who became a trans man and Tomoe reveals the reason she approached him because she wanted to talk to him about Yusuke only going out with girls.
  • Mistaken for Gay: In My ex wanted me to be a great novelist but then she left me for a model, when Rio tried to call out Koji for making her husband Reiya divorce her, she finds out both young men live together. On top of that, Reiya is the one who does the chores and cooks for Koji, which grosses Rio out into leaving them alone.
  • Momma's Boy: Toru lives with his mother despite coming from a well-off family, and always takes her side even when dating Asuka.
  • Ms. Red Ink:
    • A rare couple example is found in Kaede and Mao's parents. Both of them blow any money they're given, even to the point of selling their unfavorite daughter Mao to a shady-looking man named Akio, who turned out to be a nice guy. Their overspending worsens things even further when they force Kaede into prostitution to bring them money, which drives Akio to take action against the couple.
    • Soma was told by his brother Tatsuma about the money he wired to their father's account to pay the debt that he caused after failing to be a model, he decides to withdraw all of the money and gambles them all.
  • Mugging the Monster:
    • In My colleague bragged about being an ex-gang member and poured beer on me…so I... (sic), Maina was mistreated by Sano who was on a power-trip since she is his subordinate. When he poured beer on her, she revealed that she was a former delinquent and gave him such a scare that slipped Sano out of his bravado.
    • My annoying neighbor told me that her boyfriend was a gangster so I... : Ms. Makita crashed Yoko's car from behind; the former brought up her Yakuza boyfriend as usual to silence her, but Yoko counters that her dad is part of an anti-gang squad. When the latter man arrives, Ms. Makita is frightened at the sight of his towering build and the scar on his face (which he got from an injury at work), mistaking him for a real Yakuza, and confesses to bluffing.

  • Nerdy Bully: Tatsuya bullies Chisato because he can't stand losing to her in an exam, he is also the son of the school's principal. Tatsuya is revealed to be cheating because he blackmailed Makoto into helping him. Makoto decides to spill everything about Tatsuya, he ends up getting suspended and his father is forced to resign, Tatsuya later quits school because nobody wants to talk with him.
  • No Name Given: The characters from the episode My wife was having an affair when I got home so I called the cops have no name given.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Kanae lets out one after gloating to her ex-friend Kyoka about stealing and marrying the latter's ex-boyfriend Kazuya Saito, ignorant of the reason why he was her ex-boyfriend. Much to her surprise, Kyoka laughs it off.
    Kanae: What is yours is all mine! The result of your project, the person you liked, IT'S ALL MINE! (laughs)
  • Nosebleed: Atsushi and his friends' noses began bleeding when they see Minako, who rarely dresses up, revealing her beautiful body and wearing a sexy bikini.

  • Obfuscating Stupidity: In an act of revenge against Hikaru Sato for looking down on him by calling him dumb and stealing his girlfriend, Yuto Koda pretends to be dumb and "accidentally" plays a video that shows Hikaru blackmailing people into giving him their contracts so he would get the credits from them, and he also flirted with other women while being engaged to Yuto's ex-girlfriend.
  • Obnoxious Entitled Housewife:
    • Mrs. Junko Kamei was known for leeching off of other neighbors, either by badgering them into giving her their stuff or outright stealing it. She brings her husband when someone refuses, which also results in her undoing when Aiko responds to his accusation of giving their son a defective trampoline by revealing it was in her backyard as she planned to throw it away. To make matters worse for her, other housewives come out and tell him this wasn't the first time she steals something. This earns her the wrath of her mother-in-law who was nearby, who then tells the man to divorce Kamei.
    • Yuwa Urata terrorized the neighborhood Haruka lived in, such as making demands, stealing crops from a farm and letting her son Alan terrorize the kids. Yuwa tried to demand that Haruka drive her to the elementary school their kids attend but Haruka refused. When Yuwa got to the school late and missed Alan's presentation, she blamed Haruka for not picking her up and had her son damage Haruka's car. She tried to get out of trouble by claiming that her husband's part of the yakuza but Haruka called the police anyway, since trying to intimidate people as a yakuza is illegal. Yuwa's husband later came with her to apologize, and Haruka revealed all the things Yuwa had been doing. The couple divorced and Yuwa was forced to get a job for minimal wage.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws:
    • Masaki's father-in-law looks down on him for being a factory worker. After getting a verbal thrashing from Sana, his daughter and Masaki's fiance, he relented and decided to let them get married. One day, he put down Masaki in front of his business partner, but when the partner revealed that he used to be a worker. After that, the business partner cut off business ties and Masaki's father-in-law was forced to quit his job.
    • Yosuke's future in-laws demand expensive things for his wedding with Mizuki, when he tries to refuse, they accuse him of being stingy and threaten to call off the wedding. Unfortunately for Mizuki and her parents, Yosuke decides to call off the wedding by himself when Mizuki accidentally called him "Masato" during their wedding planning, exposing her affair to him.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: The only reason Seiji married Erika, despite the former already having a girlfriend that he wanted to marry, is because Erika' father, his boss, blackmails him by holding his girlfriend's family's livelihood hostage until he agrees to marry Erika. Seiji would later flip the script on his boss by revealing Erika's infidelity to him and demanding a divorce out of threat of exposing her affair, which would bankrupt his company due to owing a debt with his grandfather-in-law, who despises infidelity. Seiji got his divorce so that he can get back with his girlfriend.
  • The Oldest Profession: Some chapters featuring a female antagonist end with her in a situation so dire she turns to the nightlife business and becomes either a hostess or an outright sex worker to pay the damages done to the protagonist.
  • Only Cares About Inheritance: Shinuske's younger brother, Soma, is a spoiled spendthrift who constantly asks others, including his parents, for money. When Soma's girlfriend refuses to marry him because of his lack of savings, he manages to keep her from breaking up with him by stating that he will inherit a lot of money when his parents die. Some time later, during the parents' funeral, Soma spends his time looking up information about inheritance on his phone. A week after the funeral, Soma orders Shinuske to give him all of the inheritance, using his status as their the favorite, alongside his upcoming marriage, as justification. He evens threatens to kill Shinuske if he refuses. After giving Soma the inheritance, Shinsuke laughs and reveals that the inheritance is nothing more than a rundown worthless apartment building with a very high property tax, very few tenants, and hardly any rental income. Shinsuke also tells him that their parents' house is in shambles and that he would lose money if he decided to clear the land. While Soma later sold the house and the apartment building, the apartment building ends up being sold for a bargain and he has to pay a lot of money to sell the house and clear the land.
  • Only in It for the Money: Ami's uncle and aunt took her in when her grandmother was too old to take care of her long-term, but she finds out that they only agreed to raise her just to get money from her grandmother to spend on themselves and their own son, Yuto. Their greed comes back to bite them when Yuto became a delinquent and blew the inheritance money after the grandmother's passing, leading the couple to beg Ami for money.
  • Open Secret: In this story, Aya's romp with a married man was known in the company she and Fuyuki worked at, but he was the only one unaware of it until his friend revealed it after breaking up with her.
  • Otaku:
    • Naoki in several episodes is an otaku who prefers fictional women over real women. He is also tech-savvy, which is pivotal to his friends and family when they are in trouble.
    • Takumi is a mecha anime otaku who works as an illustrator through commissions, hated by his parents and sister Ayano for it. When he sued his family for damages on his figurines by Ayano's kids, she calls him unemployed until her husband Keisuke tells everyone Takumi is an illustrator for his company. He even turns out to be the one bringing the money for his parents, which they gave to Ayano.

  • Raised by Grandparents: Keichi was raised by his grandparents after his parents and brother treated him like trash.
  • Rapid Aging: In "My school bully still thought that I was still the poor kid but she was wrong," Marin aged fast after paying all her debts by "working nights in the city", leaving her without money since her parents kicked her out for her trouble.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • "My sister asked me to not come to her wedding and here's what happened...": Ryosuke calls out his parents who shunned him during his childhood and then changed their attitude towards him after he became a successful writer.
      Ryosuke: It's hilarious and pitiful how you two have switched how you behave towards me. The terrible son has succedeed and your precious daughter has failed. I can only imagine how you feel...I digress, please don't contact me anymore. I understand I may be repeating myself but after the toxicity I had dealt with growing up, I have no intention of being around you two. In fact, I will be publishing a novela [sic] on how toxic of a parent's [sic] I grew up with.
    • 'I ran into my ex at a high-end sushi restaurant, "Poor guy at a high-end restaurant?"' calls out Mieko for making fun of Tsubasa and picks out the latter's flaws on modeling, causing her to run off crying.
      Akina: By the way, if you're going to be a model, you should seriously study up on your makeup. Your speech is unrefined as well.
      Mieko: …Wha!
      Akina: How can you make fun of Tsubasa like that? There's no one else who works this hard.
      Clerk: …You left most of your food and if you can't pay us on top of that, we'd appreciate it if you didn't come to our restaurant anymore!
      Tsubasa: …That's right. You've already figured out which one of us is not suited for this restaurant, haven't you?
      Mieko: (runs away to cry)
    • "My own foster family hated me": Ami gives her uncles a blistering rant for having mistreated her all the time since they adopted her for her grandmother's money.
      Ami: You ask for money..? [sic] We're family? Says who? […] Don't try to be friendly with me! You're the one who said we're not a family!
      Lend me money? [sic] Didn't Grandma give you lots of money? Don't you put all that money in your pocket?
      Ami's Uncle: No, that's…
      Ami: You guys fed me so poor and didn't even buy me clothes… And yet you guys dressed so nicely and went on overseas vacation without me! I have no money to give you! If you insist, I'll take you to court or whatever! If you think you can win, go ahead and challenge me!
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: Kihara of Wide Corporation was transferred to the middle of nowhere after his superiors found out how incompetent he is when he demanded Misaki's company to develop the system with impossible deadlines.
  • Relationship Sabotage:
    • Kaori stole Hikari's first boyfriend out of spite when they were still young. Years later, she also steals Hikari's new boyfriend Naoya to spite her again. This turns out to be a blessing in disguise for Hikari because Naoya is actually a possessive boyfriend who likes to control his girlfriend's life, thus Kaori becomes a victim of his harassment.
    • My friend stole my boyfriend, but then…: Yukina stole Mai's first boyfriend just because she holds a grudge against her for getting the protagonist role in an elementary school play a long time ago, prompting Mai to cut ties with her. Years later, Yukina apparently stole Mai's fiancé again after seeing them together in a photo on social media, and also claims to be pregnant with his child. Unfortunately for Yukina, the man she thought was Mai's fiancé is actually one of Mai's friends from college named Ren, while Mai's real fiancé is named Seiji and also infertile, debunking Yukina's lies. It is also revealed that Ren actually persuaded Mai to use him as bait on social media to prevent Yukina from stealing Seiji from her.
    • "This mean girl kept picking on me…But then…" [sic]: Kokoa tried to hit on the older guy whom Yuna was dating, but when he turned her down, she targeted Yuna instead in the hopes of driving her away from him. Furthermore, she was popular among the men because of her looks, which led to her escalating her bullying of Yuna into outright slander. Eventually, when the English-language club organizes a BBQ at the beach, she then accuses her of compensated dating, only for Yuna herself to reveal the old man was her father.
  • Removing the Crucial Teammate:
    • Souta Nagato is seen as useless as he takes so many hours to get his work done to the point of working overtime. To the point where the CEO gets fed up and fires him. Turns out that he is very popular with their clients and the reason why takes so many hours is that his coworkers (Except Mao Nanase) make him do their work for them as well as fix their mistakes. Not surprisingly, they are unable to complete their work without him and the company went bankrupt six months later.
    • Reina wants her brother Hiroki kicked out of their parents mansion because she sees him as useless and ugly. However, he soon gives her documents so that she could pay the bills he previously was paying since he was no longer living there. And as a bonus, she stole money from her mother to treat herself, which results in her being kicked out. Hiroki even states that if she wasn't so horrible she would've still been able to live in the mansion.
    • Takeru and Nori conspire to frame and kick Shota out of their company because they perceive him as useless and an obstacle for them to do a hostile takeover on the company. However, many angry clients complain about Shota's sudden departure because he was the one who set up the deals with them, leading Shota himself to expose the duo. It is revealed that Nori also conspired to have Takeru himself fired so he can become the next CEO. After the truth is out, Mr. Sugisaki decides to fire both Takeru and Nori for their actions and make Shota the next CEO.
  • Revenge Romance:
    • Sakaguchi stole Yuto's girlfriend out of jealousy over being surpassed by him. Unfortunately, Yuto revealed that the girl was his stalker. His real girlfriend was in Tokyo, but he moved to the countryside to escape the stalker to no avail. Therefore, Sakaguchi was smothered and sucked dry of his life by the stalker.
    • Minamida stole and married Takahisa's wife Honoka as a final insult to him. However, he came back half a year later begging Takahisa to help him get rid of her because she was a chronic gambling addict with a penchant for BDSM. Moreover, Minamida couldn't divorce her because he would lose his rich kid status if he did so. In the end, Honoka's chronic gambling drove him to ruin.
    • Yaguchi stole and married Yuma's girlfriend Erina out of spite to humiliate him for being a high school graduate, however, Yuma reveals that Erina was a Gold Digger who was already cheating on him with 4 different men behind his back and she even had several ex-husbands. Erina also have a relative who is a member of the Yakuza and she even turns out to be a former delinquent, causing Yaguchi to worry because his family has a company and his younger brother wants to be a police officer. In the end, Yaguchi manages to divorce Erina but it ends up turning him into a shut-in.
    • Kanae invited Kyoka to her wedding with the former's ex-boyfriend Kazuya, gloating at Kyoka about how she stole everything from her, but she laughs it off since Kazuya was a gambling-addicted, abusive jerk.
    • Hikaru Sato stole Yuto Koda's girlfriend Momoka and gloated about marrying her to his face a month later to twist the knife even further. However, this was a big mistake on Sato's part, as Koda exposed his bullying and blackmail of other coworkers and flirting with other women while still engaged to Momoka.
  • Rich Bitch:
    • Grew up in a poor family, but I became a doctor…: Sanae Kitagawa bullied Hiroyuki Saito for being poor and his friend Mika Kudo for defending him. Years later she flattered Saito once he became a doctor and saved her father's life. However, he rejects Kitagawa and remarks her refusal to get a job well into her thirties and marries Kudo instead. Afterward, Kitagawa got kicked out of the house when her father's business tanked.
    • I finally get a job offer but my girlfriend tells me to decline. What's behind this!?: Tomoko is a rich young woman who abused her former boyfriend Yuta and only liked him for his looks, driving him to quit his gas company job and make his own money. While eating and drinking with the Managing Director to celebrate the former's promotion, the man drunkenly revealed he had an affair with Tomoko and even "helped" her with her plastic surgery debts. In the end, Yuta drops her like a hot potato and she leaves the city with the remaining debts.
    • My boyfriend's mom thought that I was poor until...: Toru's mother is a rich housewife who looks down on her son's girlfriend Asuka for being supposedly poor. Turns out that Asuka is the Vice President of the Dem-Pondo Company and the granddaughter of said company's Chairman. To top it off, the stuck-up hag's restaurant was struggling financially until going bankrupt six months later.
    • How I got revenge on a rich snobby woman: Miyata is a rich housewife who looks down on single moms such as Kaori. When Kaori started working for a housekeeping service, Miyata hired her and kept making sarcastic comments and demanding that Kaori make the house spick and span. This led to Kaori bungling her traditional tea lessons and the instructor was revealed to be Miyata's mother-in-law. The next time Kaori was hired, the instructor forced her to learn from Kaori on how to do housework so she will stop using the service. To top it off, Miyata's husband found out she used the service behind his back.
    • My fiancee dumped me when she found out I had saved a homeless man's life…: Reina is a rich woman who Masato meets at the opera. She treats him like trash for saving a homeless woman named Yui from being run over on their way to a luxury restaurant and then dumps him in favor of a CEO.
    • The wannabe and the Rich girl (sic): Rina Tono is a rich woman who got transferred to the branch where Yuki works. She has proven herself a hindrance since day one, forcing her coworkers to cover for her since she always leaves early to see the new collections of designer brands and whenever she does work, she half-asses it all. No one can take her to task because she's the niece of a board member.
    • The rich lady in our group is annoying: Kiyoda is a rich woman who Fumika and the other moms dislike due to her bragging about her wealth. Her son is no better as he hurt a girl's feelings by bragging about how rich he is and how poor the girl is. Reika was able to show her up by claiming that her 50,000 yen was too little compared to her wealth.

    • Kaito's modeling career goes down the toilet after footage of him attempting to hit his female manager went viral on social media.
    • Akane and Saeko's influencer career derailed after they were recorded making fun of their own followers by referring to them as "poor scums".
    • Mieko's influencer career derailed after people found out that she was buying followers for money, which caused a huge backlash on her.
    • Mai's modelling career abruptly ends after the public became aware of her entry into the industry because her mother was sleeping with the producer, forcing her to quit.
