  • Mom's an Educational Consultant who obsesses over my super-smart older brother: Koji is neglected by his mother in favor of his smarter, older brother Kazuma. She was so obsessed with social media, Koji and his grandmother ended up doing all the housework, though she does prepare Kazuma's meals by herself and take Koji to a luxurious restaurant to make herself look good in front of people on social media. She even mentions she only has one son on social media, making Koji feel relieved as he doesn't want to be associated with her anyway. Her lie eventually gets discovered when Koji's girlfriend's sister uploaded a photo of him and his mother to social media, her followers later find out that she lied about having one son and also neglected Koji in favor of his brother. Kazuma becomes free from his mother's control and also reconciles with Koji.
  • My sister's kids destroyed some expensive figurines of mine... $20,000 worth: Takumi is mistreated by his parents in favor of his sister Ayano, for being an otaku. Turns out that he works as an illustrator, even sparing some of his busy schedules to make illustrations for Keisuke's company.

Mao is ignored in favor of her sister, Kaede, by her parents, since the latter was pretty enough to work as an idol. They pushed her hard to be an entertainer and even sold the grandmother's land and Mao to a dangerous looking man in order to pay off their debts after falling victim to scam that cost them $50,000.

The only one who cared for him is Uncle Ken, who encourages him to become a doctor after saving the life of an elderly man afflicted with heatstroke.

  • My parents started ignoring after my accident until one day...: Yuua was favored more than her sister, Miyu, because the former is a model and is more attractive. After Yuua's accident that claimed her foot, she ended up becoming neglected and her parents focused on Miyu. They pushed her very hard in her academics and refused to take care of Yuua. Luckily, the aunt took care of Yuua and later came for Miyu.
  • My mom doted on my talented brother but abandoned me. Then, when she heard I was famous…: Hayato is neglected by his mother in favor of his talented twin brother, Kento. Despite the favoritism, Kento is not corrupted by his mother and encourages Hayato to follow his dream to become a writer. The mother changes her attitude towards Kento after he was in a traffic accident, she then begs Hayato to come with her and she also brags to other people about the novel that Hayato wrote. Her bragging backfires as Hayato reveals that the novel he wrote was about Parental Abandonment. Kento now lives with Hayato and their father afterward.
  • My sister asked me to not come to her wedding and here's what happened...: Ryosuke is treated unfavorably by his parents for getting low scores while they praise his sister Natsuki for getting high scores all the time. They eventually kick him out of the house when he drops out of college. They change their attitude towards Ryosuke after he became successful as a writer, only for him to call them out for treating him like shit and he is going to publish a novel about his harsh childhood.
  • My toxic parents mistreated my older brother until he got adopted by my friend: Akira is treated harshly by his parents after he failed to enter a reputable high school due to his passion for cooking while they praise his brother Haruto for being smarter than him, only his sister Natsumi is supportive of his hobby. After getting into another argument with his parents, he moves out from his house to the house of Natsumi's rich friend, Alyssa, with her chef teaching him about cooking. In the end, Akira became a successful chef while Haruto joined a mediocre company after graduating college and but then he quits and becomes a shut-in, causing his parents to switch their attention to Akira, however, he cuts all of his ties with them.
  • Revenge on my jerk of a brother who was doted by my parents: Kento was neglected by his parents in favor of his academically successful brother, Tomonori. They later switch their attention to Kento after Tomonori fails to get a job offer. Unfortunately for them, Kento isn't having any of it and calls his parents out for playing favorites.

Years later, they arrange Yuki to get married with Takahiko to pay Haruka's debt after she failed to be a model after the modelling agency they gave money to turned out to be a scam. Takahiko himself was also abused by his mother who loved his brother more. Yuki's stepfather later calls her to lend him money, only for her to call him out for treating her like trash since her childhood.
  • Parents only cared about my brother… But then...: Masaki was favored more than his older brother Keichi by their parents. When Masaki's friend broke Keichi's DVD that Masaki had lent, Keichi ran away and stayed with his grandparents. When he returned, he was forced to move in with his grandparents while his parents and brother moved to another city. Fortunately, his grandparents treated him much better and he was able to become more successful. Years later, Masaki tried to apply for a job at Keichi's company after being fired from his job, but Keichi refused to give him special treatment. Intimidated, Masaki didn't bother to show up for the interview. He tried to start his own company with investment from his parents, but the company soon failed and he ended up severely in debt.
  • My brother who is loved more than me asks our beautiful childhood friend out...: Daiki was neglected in favor of his twin brother Hideki by their mother. Fortunately, their childhood friend Saori cared about him. When they were in high school, Hideki stole Daiki's drawings and poems and claimed them as his own, so Daiki and Saori decided to have a contest with his brother to prove that the work was his. The students noticed Daiki's signature and realized that the art was his. Furthermore, Saori publicly rejected Hideki and played a recording of him asking her out. Later, the teacher heard of Daiki's plight and visited his home. He scolded the mother and everyone found out about her favoritism making her unable to leave the house.
  • Here's what happened when my sister took from me...: Rie was treated unfavorably by her parents, who favored her younger sister, Kana, they also sided with Kana when she deliberately broke Rie's pen. Years later, Kana tries to steal Rie's boyfriend Ryohei from her with support from her parents, however; Ryohei calls Kana and her parents out for trying to make Rie miserable. After the incident, Rie cuts ties with her family.
  • "My sister messed up, but I ended up paying for her… But then…": Sayo was treated unfavorably by her parents in favor of her sister, Hiromi. Moreover, they also forced Sayo to work at their cafe without paying her and refused to let her to go to college. When Hiromi got into trouble for running over an old man with her bike, they cross the line by shifting the blame on Sayo and handing her over to a scary-looking man named Shinpei, who worked for the old man. Later, Sayo's parents try to force her to help them when their cafe starts going under, only to be interrupted by Shinpei, who refuses to let them take Sayo unless they hand over Hiromi. Sayo also calls them out for their mistreatment of her and cuts all ties with them.
  • "The result of my sister taking everything from me": Hikari was treated unfavorably by her parents in favor of her younger sister Kaori because of the latter's cute looks. Moreover, she didn't only steal Hikari's stuff but stole her previous boyfriends since high school, whose excuse was that Kaori was prettier than her. Furthermore, Kaori cried fake tears to her parents whenever Hikari took her to task for stealing her stuff, which swayed them to the former's side.
  • "My brother looked down on meBut then his crush asked me out…" (sic): Leo was treated unfavorably by his parents in favor of his brother Lao. They even refuse to let him to go to high school and extorted him to give up all of his own money to Lao. Leo cuts ties with his former family after Miko called out Lao for treating his brother like crap. After a series of Humiliation Conga, Lao and his mother beg Leo for money, only to be told off by him.
  • "My sister asked me to give a speech at her wedding…": Mihoko's parents gave up on her when she was diagnosed with dyslexia and focused on her sister, Nanako. They showed off Nanako any chance they got and she eventually left them. Mihoko was forced to stay by her parents, but when she was invited to Nanako's wedding, she revealed how badly her parents treated her during the speech and she was able to move away from them.
  • "Me and my genius brother got did a DNA test and...": Keisuke's mother was hard on him because he was not as smart as his brother, Hayato. Hayato, however, tried to help Keisuke, but he didn't improve. Hayato once overheard his mother insulting Keisuke and letting it slip that Keisuke was born from her affair with another man. She and her husband later got divorced and she got remarried to another man. Years later, when she met Hayato and Keisuke at a party, they revealed everything, after which her new husband divorced her and she lived in misery ever since.
  • "My thuggish younger brother only cared about the inheritance until he got it": While not as severe as most of the examples on this page, Shinsuke's parents always spoiled his younger brother, Soma. They refused to punish him whenever he stole Shinsuke's money or video game consoles, instead coldly telling Shinsuke to not be so uptight or to buy another console instead. Even after Some grew up, they always gave him money whenever he asked. However, after they died in an accident, Soma didn't mourn their deaths and only cared about the money and the inheritance.
  • "My parents only ever paid attention to my talented sister": Masako was ignored by her parents in favor of her sister Shizue. Despite the fact that Masako got a 100 on a test, her mother brushed her off. This made her not care about school and her grades declined and was on the verge of not graduating from high school. However Shizue decided to tutor her and her grades improved. Masako later went on to become a doctor, like Shizue. Their mother got cancer, and Shizue recommended Masako to her. She treated the cancer as her duty as a doctor, but refused to help her parents any further, since they never apologized for their treatment of her.
