Main Characters

    Tyrannis
The king and ruler of Krapopolis.
  • 0% Approval Rating: Hardly anyone in the titular city respects Tyrannis, which just makes him even more frustrated on account of dealing with his crappy family.
  • Freudian Excuse: His anxieties come from his troubling relationship with his mother, Deliria
  • Mayfly–December Romance: His relationship with Demeter. She is an Ageless and Immortal Goddess, who will outlive him like she has with all her lovers and knows it. It comes to an end when his mother convinces Demeter to end their relationship, because of how much she dislikes watching her lovers growing old and dying.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: He means well despite his uncertainty as a ruler and his personal mommy issues that he struggles to put aside. He does try hard to be negotiable and understanding with others but he also seems to have quite a bit of a insecure ego as he is now in a high position of being a ruler of his own city.
  • Muggle Born of Mages: He is a normal human born from the union of a goddess and a monster. This is revealed to be due to a curse that caused him to be born without a tail.
  • Nervous Wreck: He gets overwhelmed really easily and is often very nervous about trying to implement his ideas.
  • The Bore: What his family sometimes see him as. That he is too focused on civics and civilization development that he comes off as boring to most other characters looking to have fun.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: It turns out he was supposed to be born with a tail, but wasn't due to a curse of deformity. He is shocked to discover he isn't strictly human, but Deliria points out how "human" is a construct, as all humans have some god or monster blood.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He truly does want to improve the lives of those living in Krapopolis, but struggles with how to do so and tends to cause a lot more harm than good.
    Deliria
The goddess of self-destruction and questionable choice.
  • Abusive Parent: Somewhat subverted. She doesn't treat her children (biological or step) that well in general. Often ignoring or mocking their problems as insignificant compared to her own and allow them to fend for themselves for most of their problems. That said she isn't as cruel or violent towards them like other Gods and does tend to be very protective of them and will step in if they get in over their head.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: She is not a good mom, but she has her moments and a fair amount of heart.
  • Going Commando: Based on Hippocampus' horrified reaction of a giant Deliria walking over him in "War with the Roses", she does not wear anything under her toga.
  • Characterization Marches On: She started out the series being only interested in ending her exile and returning to Mt. Olympus. When she gets the chance to do that in "Eclipse" she opts to instead remain in Krapopolis to be with her family instead of the other Olympians.
  • Happily Married: Despite her rudeness and narcissism, she is happily married to Shlub. They have an open relationship, but show love and passion towards each other.
  • It's All About Me: As the goddess of self-destruction and questionable choice, Deliria is very inwardly focused. If her children are doing something, it's about her. If her children achieve something, it's because of her. When Hippocampus gets the Killassians to worship science, she only cares because she lost out on worshippers.
  • Jerkass Gods: She like many of the Gods is not a nice person usually. She is very condescending, apathetic, and general inconsiderate of mortals and their problems. She isn't afraid to transform and or kill mortals on a whim, while not reacting much to the accidental deaths of those caused by her actions.
  • Mama Bear: She doesn't show this side to often, but she will destroy anyone and anything that tries to hurt her family. Whether it be Mortals, Monsters, or other Gods, she will use all her powers to protect them.
  • Narcissist: She tends to think more about herself then the rest of the family. Any achievement good or bad is a reflection of her and she will either take credit for it or get mad about how bad it makes her look.
    Shlub
The father of Tyrannis and Hippocampus, and a manitataur. Full name "Shlub Michael (CENSORED)."
  • Abusive Parent: Not him, but his father. Shlub's father forbid him from doing what he wanted to do and regularly cursed him and likely several of his children (Tyrannis included) as a way to punish him. When he saw his father's corpse being torn apart by a mob, he didn't want to give him satisfaction of feeling anything about his death thinking that he didn't deserve any but indifference from him.
  • Any Thing That Moves: Shlub is willing to have sex with basically anything or at the very least willing to try it.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Shlub was still creeped out by Hippocampus' research on dead bodies.
  • Genius Ditz: He has his moments like in the pilot episode where he helps his son Tyrannis with his mommy issues by asking the question "If your divine gift is for deal making, why is it you can't deal with your mother?"
  • Good Parents: Much more understanding, approachable and kind then his wife is when speaking to their children.
  • Happily Married: He adores his wife even though he does understand his sons troubling relationship with her.
  • Hybrid Monster: He's a mantitaur, which appears to be a cross between a centaur and manticore.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: Shlub always has sex on the brain and is seemingly the most liked member of the family both within it and with the citizens of Krapopolis.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: He can be as flawed like the rest of the family but for the most part he is a pretty likable and even agreeable guy. He has his son Tyrannis's love and respect and he does show support towards all his kids, even Stupendous despite the fact she isn't his biological daughter.
  • Really Gets Around: By his own admission, he likely has a lot of children of different species that he doesn't know about with how much sex he has had.
    Stupendous
Deliria's daughter and a half-cyclops.
  • Acquired Poison Immunity: She managed to regain "partial" use of her body after being affected by a unicorn paralyzing toxin within a few hours, while Hippocampus stated it should take days. Even with "partial" use of her body she was able to kill several unicorns and escape while carrying Hippocampus no-less.
  • Action Girl: She is the most physically gifted amongst her siblings and is always looking for a fight or means to test her strength and abilities.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Defied. Stupendous had Ares of all people interested in her and she didn't want anything to do with him. She was openly enraged by the prospect of Athena trying to get him to go to the Moon in "Eclipse" by offering to give her to him.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She is very protective of both Tyrannis and Hippocampus and is willing kill anything that tries to hurt them.
  • Book Dumb: What Stupendous tends to be in the series. She isn't as smart like Tyrannis or Hippocampus in terms of civilization design and science respectively, but she is usually intelligent enough to think tactically and problem solve through practical solutions on her own.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: She can be surprisingly kind at times despite her love of fighting, such as crying over an imprisoned pegasus. Notably, she actually accepts that Camille the hydra doesn't want to fight her and rescues her when she is Driven to Suicide. The episode ends with the two staying friends and having a friendly match to see who would win.
  • Classical Cyclops: She is half-cyclops, so instead of one eye in the middle of her forehead, she just has the left eye; where her right eye would have been, she wears an eyepatch with a crudely drawn eye.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Stupendous is willingly to kill basically anything in a fight, whether it be mortal or monster with very little justification needed. That said, she refused to allow Camille the Hydra to take her own life after refusing to fight her to the death, feeling that it would be wrong to do so.
  • Eyepatch of Power: She wears an eyepatch to hide the fact that she only has one eye. She's also the strongest and toughest character in the show.
  • Friend to All Children: She is shown to have a soft spot for children, as shown in "A Krapwork Orange".
  • Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: She is half-cyclops and half-god.
  • World's Strongest Woman: She is suggested to be one of the strongest mortals in the series, having been able to lift dirt enchanted to weigh as much as the entire world and is actually stronger than full cyclops having been able to throw boulders further then even he real father.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: In the beginning of "A Crapwork Orange", she prevents Hippo from using his new flamethrower on a pack of orphans that attacked him in the forest.
    Hippocampus
Half brother of Tyrannis and Stupendous's stepbrother. He is an inventor fish man who wears a fishbowl helmet and a bronze baby walker that helps him get around.
  • Birds of a Feather: What his and Daphne's relationship is built on. They are both very logical and reasonable people, who are open to new concepts outside their general world view.
  • Blue Means Smart One: He is blue and the most logical and intelligent member of the main cast.
  • Child Hater: Hippocampus does not like children and wanted to burn se
  • Fish People: Hippocampus is a fish-like sea monster born as a result of one of Shlub's many sexual encounters.
  • Genius Cripple: Hippocampus cannot actually work or breath on dryland. He needs a special wheeled contraption to move around on land and water tank on his head to actually breath.
  • Mad Scientist: His experimentation tends to slide into the strange and macabre to the point where his family gets creeped out by some of his work.
  • Mistaken for Murderer: In "The Stuperbowl", his own father thinks he is one. Mostly due to his fascination with corpses and a description of a suspected serial killer being very similar to how he could be described.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He wanted to burn several orphans to death with a flamethrower he made after they ambushed and beat him up in the woods.

Supporting Characters

    Asskill
The chief of a nearby cannibal tribe living near Krapopolis and a nominal ally of theirs.
  • All Takeand No Give: Asskill and his tribe really don't help Krapopolis that much in spite of their alliance. In fact they tend to take more from them then they give in return for said alliance.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Asskill and his tribe are cannibals, who regularly eat people including enemies and their own elderly.
  • Fair-Weather Friend: Asskill is not a great ally to Tyrannis and Krapopolis as a whole. He often tries to avoid association and avoids helping then when things look bad and will often take livestock and resources from them whenever he feels like it using their military strength to justify it.
    Daphne
A wood nymph living in the forest that is trying to protect it from Tryannis and his desire to spread civilization.
  • Birds of a Feather: What her and Hippocampus' relationship is built on. They are both very logical and reasonable people, who are open to new concepts outside their general world view.
  • Nature Lover: She is a wood nymph trying to protect the forest and nature in general from the expanding civilization.
  • Romantic False Lead: She first appeared in "Woods-stock" trying to gather intel from Tyrannis by pretending to be interested in him, before helping him stop Dionysus from destroying the forest with his party. Later episodes have her spending time with Hippocampus, who she ends up starting a relationship with instead.

Gods

    General Tropes

  • The Ageless: The Gods don't age at all. Most of them are centuries old and tend to look like they are in their physical prime for the most part.
  • Everybody Loves Zeus: Inverted. Most Gods don't like Zeus and often spend their times trying to find ways to annoy him. With most of them being actively terrified of him when he actually gets mad.
  • Forced Transformation: Most of the Gods seem to possess the ability to transform mortals into animals, monsters and objects.
  • Immortal Immaturity: They all tend to act pretty shallow and petty to the point that they come off as spiteful 20 year olds then centuries old Gods.
  • Jerkass Gods: Most of them are this to varying degrees with their treatment of mortals being outright abusive or generally patronizing.
  • Shapeshifting: Most of the Gods seem capable of transforming into different animals and objects without difficulty
  • The Gods Must Be Lazy: Most of them don't really involve themselves with the activities of mortals unless it involves doing so to spite another God.

Major Gods

    Apollo
    Ares
    Athena
Goddess of Wisdom, War, Strategy, etc.
  • God of Knowledge: Stated to be one, but it is unclear if there is any truth to it or if it was a meaningless title granted to her by Zeus like the other Gods.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: She spends most of her time in "Eclipse" trying to manipulate everyone else at any opportunity. Having lied and misled several characters in order to try and get her way.
    Demeter

  • Earth Mother: She is the God of Harvests and travels around leaving behind grain and plant growth.
  • Green Thumb: Her powers as God allows her to grow crops even in the desolate and blighted farmlands of Krapopolis.
  • Humans Are Insects: She tends to view humans as something like pets rather then equally sentient beings. Her description of Deliria taking Tyrannis back sounds like sending a pet to a good home where he will still be happy and healthy.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: What her relationship with Tyrannis and all her other mortal lovers ends up being. When the mortals she dates get too old or sick, she mentions about having to essentially put them out of their misery.
    Dionysus
    Hephaestus

  • Broken Ace: He is indeed a God and Genius with the ability to make practically anything with enough time, but he is also someone physical and emotionally abused by his family and only works to try and get them to love him.
  • Control Freak: Zig-Zagged. On one hand he kind of lets his workers do whatever they want in building without much input from himself and is willingly to allow them to quit when they feel like it. On the other hand, he needs to feel like he is in control of what everyone is doing including the other Gods, in spite of the evidence that he isn't and assumes that his actions will get them to actually like him.
  • Genius Cripple: Hephaestus possesses a club foot like the original mythology and has to walk with a cane in spite of being a God, but is still one of the smartest people in the series.
  • Cyborg: Under the mask that covers the right side of his skull are some mechanical parts added to his body.
  • Freudian Excuse: The main reason Hephaestus is so messed up is because not single member of his family did anything to protect him from the abuse he suffered and he feels the need to get them to love him.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: What Hephaestus really wants in the end. He doesn't want to make inventions to change the world or prove his intelligence, because everyone knows how smart he is. He just wants the other Olympians to like him and he does all their repair job requests to try and do this.
  • Intelligence Equals Isolation: Hephaestus feels lonely being the smartest person around and really struggles to connect with people as equals. He knows he is smartest person around, but it doesn't make the other Gods like him and tends to repair their stuff alone in his workshop thinking that will get them to like him.
  • Masking the Deformity: Hephaestus wears a mask over the right side of his face to cover up the damage done when he was thrown off Mt. Olympus.
    Hermes
    Pan
    Poseidon
    Prometheus

  • Ax-Crazy: The centuries imprisoned and tortured by Zeus' divine punishment didn't leave him in the best mental state.
  • Divine Conflict: What Prometheus attempts to do shortly after being freed by Tyrannis and Hippocampus.
  • Divine Punishment: He was chained to a larger rock and had his liver eaten by an eagle over and over again for centuries for giving mortals fire.
  • Fire Stolen from the Gods: The main thing he is known for and why he is loved by the mortals. Also why was imprisoned and punished by Zeus.
  • Old Flame: Was one of Deliria's past lovers.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Didn't seem to grasp that his revenge plan would not succeed and would likely get him and anyone else who joined him killed.
    Zeus (Spoilers)

  • Bad Boss: Zeus is in charge of the other Olympians and is implied to be very cruel and a general jerk to them to point that regularly try to find new ways to annoy him.
  • The Ghost: Gets mentioned a lot through most of the early season, but never actually appears. In "Eclipse", Zeus does appear in a multiple animal transformed state that we do not get a good look at. Which he is only in due to trying to pleasure himself in the most perfect way possible, which he seemed to succeed at.
