Let's see what I can remember from my dream last night...

It was mainly about my family and I going around town.

First, we were at some neighbor's house, and I think we were taking care of their two dogs. One was a chihuahua with a vicious attitude, and the other was a much bigger dog, who had some sort of condition where it was okay to touch the top of its body, but its underside was disease-ridden.

At one point, we were at some sort of hospital. We were looking for my grandma, but she wasn't there. However, I learned that for his birthday last year, my brother had asked to be taken to this hospital to get some sort of procedure that somehow brings your shadow to life (think Dr. Facilier). It was pretty expensive, though.

And then there was one part where I got deja vu. My parents were driving us all along a shoreline, and for some reason, they had to go into the water. They told us not to be scared, saying that they wouldn't drive too far out into the ocean. Although we did manage to get safely back out, it was still very much scary. tongue

But that last part... it feels so familiar. I feel like I've seen that in my dreams many times before.

Still hoping for Klonoa to get a new game... or a movie like this

Another one of those Recurring Dreams, and it's a twofer! (TL;DR plane attempting to take off on surface roads, and me dealing with a medical emergency)

I was a passenger on a plane, getting ready to fly to London! The pilot was a former coworker of mine. (That should have tipped me off that this was a dream. He's actually a paramedic.) We rolled down the runway, took off, lost power, and landed on a surface road in my hometown. The pilot kept trying to take off from the surface road. We got airborne a few times, surprisingly avoided trees and power lines, but would lose power and end up on the road again. I asked why he wasn't going back to the airport, and he said he didn't want to get in trouble. What the hell, pilot?

At one point, I heard someone yell "ARSE!" from the back of the plane. (My brain Did Not Do the Bloody Research) Turns out, she had cut her hand down to the bone and was bleeding profusely. So while my buddy was trying to use 6th Avenue as a runway, I was holding pressure on a legitimately scary flesh wound instead of sitting in a seat with my seat belt on to save my ass from the inevitable crash.

Then the dogs woke me up at 4:00am. I am a tired and cranky Jen right now.

I dreamed I got a lengthy email by someone who enjoyed my music, but claimed to have objections to my chosen stage name for religious reasons note . Notable because I got up thinking I had to change all my music pages and cover art or keep getting crazy emails.

This one:

This time I'm a Princess from a very isolated and remote fictional country (in the Southern Ocean, ~halfway between New Zealand and Chile, and further South than the usual shipping lane between the two.

I've just come of age and been named "Royal Wife" by the King. This is more of a job title than actual marital status and governs what someone's official duties are. It's also a King's way of saying "there's no one suitable for my daughter, so stop asking" (i.e.: anyone with enough rank is either too old, too young, or already married).

Normally this is a non-issue and I'd be just another government functionary but it's a major problem this time because I'm an only child, my mom can't have more kids, the next in line (a cousin) is despised by most people, and the King needs a legitimate male heir to keep the crown out of our cousin's hands.

Unless he murders my mom and marries someone else (that would probably start a civil war), I'm the only one who can provide him with that, so ...

The dream starts with us fumbling about awkwardly and very uncomfortable with the fact that he needs to get me pregnant with a boy.

Thankfully we're interruped before the NSFW stuff starts by news that a foreign warship just docked in one of our ports with "engine trouble". So we go from dealing with Squick to dealing with an international diplomatic crisis.

We're remote enough that any foreign warship showing up unannounced is suspected of doing SIGINT snooping or otherwise up to no good. We really don't like that and are never in the mood to play nice when there's one nearby.

Plus, when a foreign ship docks unexpectedly: it is impounded and searched for anything illegal while the crew is detained. If anything illegal is found the ship is confiscated and the entire crew gets charged with the crime. I'm certain they don't have the proper permits for every weapon and round of ammunition on board (each round is a seperate charge) so that entire crew is looking at a prison term so long none of them will ever see the outside of a jail cell again.

The rest of the dream is us dealing with diplomats from the few countries with local embassies. They're pressuring us to release the ship and crew while we steadfastly refuse to let them go because our laws do not make exceptions for foreign warships unless we have a treaty specifically allowing them access to our harbors. The one that docked is from a country that doesn't have such a treaty with us.

I am a proper young lady who does not bite her father at the dinner table. My relaxing music playlist.

My dream last night started with me and a bunch of other tropers playing some new Super Smash Bros. game. In the match we were currently playing, it was down to me and Troper No. 9001, both playing as Kamek. I won, but only because 9001 accidentally fell off the stage. I felt so bad for her.

But then, the dream's "story" really began. It turned out that I lived in a town where everyone had some surreal quirk (think Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, but with an entire town, and people of all ages.) I started out in the store where I got the Super Smash Bros game, which was run by an overweight bear man who liked giving hugs to all his customers.

I exited the shop, and learned that I had a twin brother. I can't remember what our quirks were, except that I was the slightly more sane of the two.

My brother told me that he wanted a new friend. Fortunately, in this town, body parts could easily be removed, replaced, and even purchased, like doll parts. My brother showed me an octopus he had purchased earlier. His plan was to replace the octopus' body parts, one by one, and rebuild it into a new human. He asked me to go to the store where they sold body parts and buy some for our new friend.

I had never been to this store before, so I wasn't sure what I was looking for. Fortunately, I met this girl (she was a goth, but other than that, I'm not sure what her quirk was) who was also shopping there, and she showed me around. I decided that our new friend would be a girl, so I picked a female head with short red hair. I then went around the store and got the rest of the parts I needed.

And then... I don't really remember what happened after that. Me and my brother were suspicious that there was some sort of conspiracy going on in the town, but other than that, the rest was kind of a blur.

My dream last night was... pretty messed up, to be honest. sad

It started out pretty cool. I was recruited by some heroic scientist guy leading a secret organization to save the world from the organization of this Mad Scientist. The good scientist warned me about the evil scientist, telling me that he liked to inflict Cold-Blooded Torture on people by using a heated electric drill to cut through peoples' hands.

Later, we were infiltrating the mad scientist's base, when, of course, he captured me, took me to the "operating room", and started drilling my hand. Even though it was a dream, I could actually feel pain. To make things worse, the mad scientist kept talking to me, describing exactly how it was destroying my hand, and pointing out that my fingers were squirming and contorting in strange ways.

I don't remember how, but after that, he either let me go for some reason, or I escaped. Anyway, I found the good scientist, and he was horrified. He said he was truly sorry that I had to go through that, and that he would take me back to his HQ to fix me up. He said there was no way to really heal my hand now, but he could replace it with a robotic one.

And then... the story changed somewhat. The mad scientist guy was now a Serial Killer, and he was chasing me around in some public area. Even though there were people around, and I called for help, nobody noticed. Every once in a while, the scientist/killer would catch up to me and wound me, making it more and more difficult to run away. I think I actually managed to lose him, or even get him killed, a few times, but he would just come back and catch up to me absurdly fast.

It may not sound so bad, now that I'm just describing it, but believe me, this part of the dream went on for way longer than it should have, and it was terrifying.

This one is from the other night.

I went to church! O.o (I have literally never been to a church service. I've been to church weddings, and I went to Sunday school once, but never a service)

Twin Bro, the kid, her dad, and I went to a church service. It was Twin Bro's idea, but I don't know why he came up with it. It started with prayers said in unison. Everyone else knew all the prayers, but I didn't.

Then the pastor came up and delivered the sermon. He switched back and forth between three topics: The importance of being kind, the beauty of the world around us, and which toy trains are the most fun to play with.

So last night I dreamed that somehow I ended up in this mansion owned by Johnny Depp. And he kept trying to change my name; I know that "Minnie" and "Dee Dee" were a couple of the options, and another was some long name like "Anastasia" or "Alexandria" or something (I'm pretty sure it started with an A, at least).

What.

The dream is set in a local community college of strong reputation. In the dream, I wake up from dreaming about the theme to Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater (which I was listening to shortly before falling asleep).

My dream friends and I head to physics class.

The setting jumps to me attempting to drive to a house I lived in15 years ago, while sitting in the rear passenger side seat of a car that had never been in the same state as that house. This seat doesn't have a brake, and as a result of physics that come from out of Big Rigs Over The Road Racing, and driving ability more familiar with anti-gravity racing games, I cause a lot of collateral damage. I get a do-over somehow, following the ghost racer (do racing games still have this?) only to overshoot the house... and wind up somehow in a tandem spacesuit, as a fellow community college student (the only important male student in the dream) and I phase through an ever repeating hallway, moving at constantly accelerating speeds. I make a mental note that in one of the (repeating) classrooms off of this hallway, a female student who resembles my mom is drawing a pattern on a whiteboard, which looks like four diploid chromosomes on top of each other. Exploiting some anti-matter physics, I somehow reverse the infinite speed and get my friend and I back to the original physics classroom... where it turns out that was the result of some catapult experiment.... But it was supposed to induce a dream state. Instead, my partner and I returned with very real carpet burn on our shoulders (which disappeared for the remainder of the dream), and my classmate/mom made a note of what I described her doing, because something in it had disturbing, prescient accuracy. The partner never appears in the dream again.

The next day in physics class (the remainder of the dream takes place over various days in physics class), everyone has a white goose (called a duck in the dream) with them. As part of a home-ec class assignment, the students are supposed to be taking care of the "duck" 24/7. However, as days go by, it becomes apparent to me that my duck is the only unusual one, and has established a psychic link with me, which he is using to bully me in ways that begin as petty (exploiting the rules of a physics test where whoever's name, you or the duck, is listed first gets the higher grade, so that he gets a 77% and I get a 0 because he kept me from showing my work) to downright malicious (causing me to have a mental breakdown in class, and revealing that he is the reason I had those bizarre dream-within-dreams, during the school day, before I met him).

At one point, the duck induces me to have a seizure in class. As I recover from this seizure, I shout (about the duck) "I'm gonna kill him, I'm gonna rape him, I'm gonna eat his fucking costume, I'm gonna eat him..." but the duck renders everyone incapable of hearing what I said while recovering from the seizure. I begin to huddle up into a corner and cry in class. The physics teacher comes over, and I tearily ask - if I kill and eat my duck, will its evil possess me?

The physics teacher gets up, disturbed, and looks up something on his computer. (he sees that my duck is some supernatural being called "Quackers", though he doesn't tell anyone this) Shaken, he hastily announces to the class that we all need to kill our ducks, and turns the remainder of the school day into a cooking competition on who has the best dish. Dream-me is very relieved (and cooks a dish I served once IRL while volunteering, that I don't actually know how to make).

Before the teacher can sample my dish, he gets a call on his desk phone. The caller ID identifies it as the home-ec teacher, angry that he made the class kill what was her project. He begins to explain himself but stops short and listens, going "uh huh" repeatedly. The call ends. He then addresses the class, telling everyone that the caller was my duck Quackers, who is declaring this whole supernatural experience Duckstalkers: the Quackening. He then abruptly states he quits and is going to find a new profession, leaving me (and everyone) to deal with this whole bizarre mess.

As I wonder if this whole dream was a {{Film/1408]}-inspired Thanatos Gambit on behalf of the duck, or an over-prepared gag to give the "Duckstalkers" name, I wake up.

This was one of those dreams with a bunch of different parts to it, not even sure I got everything in the 100% right order but:

I was at the computer - looking at a computer screen attached to the wall with a metallic keyboard attached under. Some of the keys would have other functions than just typing letters - one of them would make water pour from a faucet to the left of the computer, another one was the ice cream button that would make ice cream (or in this case, sorbet) appear from underneath the screen. You'd have to hold in these buttons for a second or so to get the water/food/ect. When pressing the ice cream button and putting a small bucket underneath I first just got water but then it started pumping out some purple/pinkish berry sorbet. Then I poured this onto a plate and the water strangely didn't seem to affect the sorbet much after all.

I also had 3 3DSes on the table - one was mine, that one had a Lucario on it and had a blue/teal top and yellow bottom. Another one was green (I think) and I was keeping on to this for someone else? (Can't remember the third one but I don't think this was mine either) I was playing some Pokemon game for DS (with Heart Gold/Soul Silver-style graphics) and all I remember was some bad guy in the game was blocked inside somewhere and a group of people were standing outside. At one point I was also trying to get the 3DSes away from the water that had earlier been spilled from the water button - I held it in for too long without having a glass underneath before I knew what it did.

I was also playing Rhythm Heaven Fever/Beat the Beat Rhythm Paradise and this time, I tried getting medals to buy extra collectibles. I was ONE away from the last one (had just 1 and needed 2) but I just couldn't get a Perfect score or extra challenge on the level I tried, or any others. (I think some of the gameplay might have been more Taiko no Tatsujin-ish too?) Then I accidentally somehow pressed "buy" on an item I already had and wasted the medal(yeah, for some reason you could buy the same collectible several times even if there wasn't any point) and now I was annoyed that I'd have to beat 2 MORE levels... but it hadn't saved yet - I knew I had to wait for that sometimes, up to a minute - so I rushed over to the Wii and manually shut it off (because thanks to dream logic it didn't occur to me to just click home menu and close the game from there) before it saved... but I saw the save symbol and how it finished loading just before it shut off :/

But there also was ANOTHER game associated with these medals where I could maybe win a few more - the details weren't clear, I just knew it was maybe (but maybe not) possible to win them from minigames and similar? I tried googling for info about this and asking but all I knew was "maybe". Eh, still wanted to give it a try. You moved around in a 3D world and I you had a RPG-ish party with you, you could also fight, meet and recruit Taiko no Tatsujin characters, I met various boss characters and I remember reading someone posting about meeting the Dokon-Dan - or as they spelled it, Dokin-Dan

I was also talking to DrNoPuma at some point in the dream, either through P Ms or talking in a thread

Another Senior Starship Captain dream.

Like the last one, I'm working with a newly contacted alien species within our borders to get them integrated with the wider interstellar community. We've already worked out what needs to be done so their astronauts can serve as liasons on our ships and stations. We're modifying a few to make that happen.

Their tech is about where humanity was in the late-1960s. They do have a primitive global satellite communications system and something similar to an early version of NASA's deep space network.

We are vastly more advanced (FTL drives, FTL communications, FTL sensors, artifical gravity, deflector shields, and energy weapons).

Our short-range light-speed communication systems can be set to work with theirs. Messages sent this way are very unreliable, have painfully slow data transmission rates, subject to long delays, and only short messages can be sent.

In this dream we're setting up a ground base with our FTL communications gear that they'll have access to while they design and build an FTL communications network compatable with ours. Something like this is a very juicy target for people up to no good. Therefore it needs to be defended.

We're building something similar to the headquarters bases our Army Engineers build shortly after securing a planet (minus the anti-starship firepower those bases have). Packing all that gear, plus the people and shuttles needed to put it all together on a planet or moon that doesn't have a starbase in orbit, requires the use of a rather large military transport. Those, like capital ships, don't go anywhere without an Escort Group.

They're very nervous about us parking a transport and five warships in orbit around their homeworld for the time it takes to unload everything before warping out. It was my job to reassure them that we had no hostile intentions.

I had an interesting dream last night.

Basically, I was visiting Starbee at her college, and she was roommates with Marinette. At some point, she revealed to us that she was Ladybug, but made us promise not to tell.

Meanwhile, Hawk Moth and Eggman were opening an amusement park, and Marinette left to spy on them both, while Starbee and I both went looking for a miraculous around her college.

However, Hawk Moth had already akumatized a few random college students, who proceeded to either look for it themselves, (Lady Wifi, Timekeeper, and Stormy Weather) while another one with invisibility simply followed us and snatched it.

Then Starbee got into a tug of war over the miraculous, while I ended up confronting Orbot and Cubot, who Eggman had sent to locate an emerald, which Chloe had on her.

Naturally, the dream ended while I was trying to convince her and being yelled at in response, though I think Helena beat the invisible one. Not sure.

Some dreams I've had recently:

  • In one, I was running and jumping through floating rings with Superman and Krypto the Superdog in a park. As we did this, Yakko Warner walked by us, turned to the "audience" and said that we were weird before chasing after a piece of cheese with Wakko's mallet (I think?). Shortly after that, the Great Flood happened and we all climbed aboard Noah's Ark for safety. I remember seeing my folks and many more Animaniacs characters on board.

  • Another dream I had recently (last night, in fact) started out with my folks and I braving a tornado as it bore down on the small house we were in. After the tornado passed, we got in our vehicles and drove away. Somehow that turned into me riding through an abandoned power plant in a wheelchair before stumbling upon a wedding rehearsal that several of my family and friends were in. They let me spectate (not caring that I came in in an automatically moving wheelchair) and after that, we had a potluck. I fixed myself a massive ice cream sundae and sat down with my sister and the wedding's best man (who, incidentally, was Justice Smith) to eat it.

I dreamed I was tired, slept for somewhere between hours and minutes, and woke up... to the same dream.

After about five wake-ups that revealed I was still in the dream just one level higher, I pulled a last resort: a sustained yell, plus a stumble to my in-dream phone (if it existed) checked the date, and used the fact that it didn't show the date as confirmation I was still asleep.

I yelled my way out of sixteen layers of dream, only to emerge to the real world,

I checked my real world clock and discovered I'd gotten less than two hours of sleep.

Last night: Random Events Plot dream of the highest order. It started out with me watching some sort of TV movie about A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, but the premise in reverse, so it was about the Knights of the Round Table in a Connecticut high school instead. At least, that's what the premise was in theory. Eventually it derailed into complete insanity that involved the main characters trying to transport a giant talking baby to his home using the balloon/lab from What's Up? Balloon to the Rescue and going through wormholes that turned them into different animation styles. I distinctly remember the setting turning into an early 1930s cartoon at one point and characters turning into inkblot rubberhouse-style toons and freaking out over their appearance and stretching/shapeshifting abilities.

Then I gave up on watching this and moved to another room. I turned on another TV and began playing Pokémon Ultra Moon while a Mickey Mouse cartoon played on the TV. The cartoon, I remember, involved Mickey and Minnie getting lost in a maze of Super Mario Bros.-esque pipes and Mickey having to find Minnie before Pete and a set of other Disney villains (I remember seeing Captain Hook, Cruella De Vil, and Madame Medusa) found Minnie instead. The pipes were apparently magic pipes that could do anything to you after going through them, including making you grow or shrink, turning you into coffee for a few minutes, or giving you the voice of BRIAN BLESSED!!!!!.

I continued to play Ultra Moon while the short went on and wound up discovering a side-quest involving you picking up wedding clothes from the coffee house guys in the various Pokémon Centers, such as a wedding dress, wedding tux, wedding shoes, etc.. When I collected them all, a cutscene suddenly played wherein Mickey and Minnie were getting married(!) and wearing the clothes that I picked up, and they were getting married in front of the Festival Plaza castle. Everyone and everything that had been in the dream beforehand were in attendance, including the Knights of the Round Table, the giant baby, Pete and the Disney villains, the coffee shop guys, and even some characters who hadn't appeared in the dream yet, such as various trail captains and a Shiny Heliolisk character played by me from We Have All Become Pokémon.

I think it was after the cutscene ended that I woke up. At least, I don't remember if anything happened afterward.

I had a dream last night where I was considering suggesting a trope on Trope Launch Pad called "Sinister Starfish", about evil sea stars in fiction. In the dream, I was trying to think of examples for this hypothetical trope, and I couldn't think of any that were played straight, but I remembered some (made up) cartoons featuring starfish characters as Jerks With Hearts Of Gold, and I was planning on adding them as downplayed examples.

Another starship captain dream involving a newly contacted species with late-60s tech. In this one I'm giving several of their officials a tour of the obsolete destroyer that's the backbone of the escort group protecting a transport vessel.

One of them asked me "Just how powerful are your starships?"

I can't tell him what the power output of our reactors is. I can tell him that a 2,250TW resonance cannon (the largest one civilians can buy), when fired, requires a power source that eats an enormous amount of fuel.

Last night, for what feels like the first time in a long time, I had a crazy, long dream that I actually remember. :P

I was trapped in some crazy shooter game that took a lot of inspiration from CarnEvil. I started in a house, with a little kid giving me a tutorial. As in, how to shoot things. Then a bat flew in, and the child cheerfully told me to shoot it. I did, and... it was messy. I started to panic, but before I could do anything, the child teleported me into this weird world that I had to shoot my way out of. Fortunately, I had some allies along the way:

  • Some of my family showed up at one point. My brother jumped right in and started shooting, but my parents had no idea what was going on. I tried to explain it to them as quickly as I could while defending myself, then they started shooting too.
  • Some sort of large bird (I think it was a Noble Bird of Prey of some sort) that would help me attack enemies.
  • Candydragon, a large dragon with bright pastel colors. Despite her cute appearance, she acted very serious and elegant. She was still incredibly kind to me and everyone else in the game, though, so I started to like her rather quickly. [lol]

Although all these characters were great help, there were many bosses and enemies I had to fight through, such as...

  • A Repulsive Ringmaster who I think was a living balloon or something. He chased me around a colorful arena while shooting balloon bullets at me.
  • Some sort of toy-themed boss.
  • Tamatoa. We had to return to his lair multiple times, but the first time I fought him, I actually managed to help him make a Heel–Face Turn, and we became friends from then on.

After me and my friends managed to get through all this, we ended up in a room where a bunch of people were dancing to cheerful pop music. There was a sign that said something like "Congratulations! Now you can just dance for the day!"

I started dancing too, when I noticed that the room had glass walls... and there were a bunch of people on the other side of the glass, wearing Five Nights at Freddy's-esque costumes, staring at us ominously. Then I realized that the sign said we were free for the day. What if, at the end of the day, we wouldn't be free again, and these people would try to kill us? I tried to explain this to everyone, and althoguh half of the people kept dancing, the other half caught on too, and we all started running away from the dance floor. Strangely, most of the people were clones of Lets Players, and I ended up running behind a clone of Jacksepticeye, which I thought was pretty cool. [lol]

Anyway, after trying to find a safe place, we decided to go to Candydragon's lair. She welcomed us in and said she would protect us.

So... happy ending, I guess? :P

I only remember bits and pieces from my dreams last night. The only thing that really sticks out in my mind is becoming June and taking my family's car for a joyride.

Oh SNAP I remember my dream! And it has inspired me to write sordid crappy fanfic! :D

I was playing Stardew Valley. I entered Harvey's clinic, and got a cut scene. He looked extremely worried. He said, "I'm not sure if you know this, but one of the older ladies just had a baby. The thing is, genetically, there's no way it could be her husband's. I'm worried about the stress that this will cause to their family. So, I'm afraid you'll have to stop playing, Jen." Then the game closed.

He used my real name, not my current farmer's name, to give me a Non-Standard Game Over because an in-game event was too upsetting. WHAT.

So, I went to fanfiction.net (I haven't published anything there in nearly two decades!) and started writing fanfic. First, I wrote about Robin having the Wizard's baby. Then, I wrote about Caroline having a Chocolate Baby, courtesy of Demetrius. Then I turned it Up To Eleven, and wrote about Jodi having Sebastian's baby!

I don't remember much about my dream last night except one part near the end. I was in this weird town that was somewhat flooded, and the water was at about chest level. Nothing in the town was damaged, though, and everything was still bright and colorful despite the water.

As I waded through the water, there was this big, talking fish that kept following me. She was apparently in love with me, and she kept swimming around me and nudging me to get me to notice her. I kept trying to tell her that I was uncomfortable, and that humans couldn't love fish, but she wouldn't listen.

I finally got back onto land, but the fish actually tried to crawl out of the water! I was scared for her own sake, so I threw her back into the water. She swam away, when I realized I had hurt her feelings. The last thing I remember was going back into the water to try and find her so I could apologize.

I had a trio of dreams last night, thought I don't remember everything.

  1. On Pokemon Showdown, I was in an Ubers battle. At one point, my foe had an Abomasnow which knocked out a Pokemon I don't remember. I sent out a BuzzwoleMoveset , then my opponent forfeited.
  2. I was playing a lookalike of Super Mario 64 or a mod of said game in Bob-omb Battlefield. There was a new star, where you jump down a hole into some sort of stone temple and kill 8 Lakitus. There were 2 layers to the temple, both square. On the first layer, the Lakitus were inbetween the corners, whereas on the bottom layer, they were at the corners. One of the Lakitus was designated as "boss" and had armour which was basically a brick wall smothering it.
These Lakitus stayed in place and shot flaming arrows at you. When I cleared the first layer, I only had 2 chunks of health left and when I cleared the second, I only had 1. The "boss" Lakitu dropped a little model of a Star. Mine was something like "Ruby". When 7 other players came to the top of the mountain, all their models would combine to make a Star.
  3. This one was like Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick. My auntie came to my house in order to continue writing a book. However, I then heard someone else knock on the door. I couldn't see who it was, presumably they were too short, so I ran to grab my toy shovel. I then ran back over to the door and whacked whoever it was over the head. It was my baby cousin. I didn't get to see how much damage I did, but my uncle said nothing more than he was disappointed in me. I really think I need to change my attitude to life...

Last night: Dreamed that there was a Live-Action Adaptation of (of all things) CatDog. The eponymous characters were rendered in the usual "realistic cartoon" look that most of those particularly crummy live-action remakes of cartoons do, and the plot (I think) involved CatDog running away from their home and entering a live-action world of people where they wind up being taken in by a Lonely Rich Kid. As expected, Cat eats this new wealthy lifestyle up while Dog begins to get homesick. I can't remember how it ended, but I presume they eventually went back home. Other things I remember about it were that CatDog still sounded like they were voiced by Jim Cummings and Tom Kenny and, for some reason, the Greasers never showed up in any form in it.

There was also an alleged never-before-seen animated episode of the original series attached to this movie, which basically boiled down to CatDog getting sucked into a go-kart race. It ended surprisingly happily, with their big rival of the episode scrubbing his victory so CatDog could win, with no thing immediately happening that made their victory meaningless or have unforeseen and/or undesirable consequences. (The Greasers were, once again, completely absent.)

I was at the pet store, buying treats for the dogs. I got a text from my boyfriend saying, "Remember to pick up a bird. I'd like either a sun conure or a cockatiel."

WHAT

So, I went to the bird section and looked for those birds. They had all the other kinds of conures, they had parakeets, they had Indian Ringnecks, they had macaws and cockatoos...but no sun conures, and no cockatiels. I texted him back and said that. He said a green-cheeked conure would be okay, too.

I didn't want to buy a bird from a pet store, so I started driving to a parrot rescue in another state, and then I woke up.

It was a shaggy birb story.
