Founding Families

Salvatore Family

     Stefan Salvatore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/s4_003.jpg
Portrayed by: Paul Wesley

"I don't hurt people. I don't do that. I'm the good brother."

Stefan is a mysterious, handsome century-old immortal. He is a protagonist, and narrator of the series. Stefan is known to be the good vampire brother (between he and Damon) and is seen to be kind, caring, compassionate, heroic and selfless. Stefan tries to avoid drinking human blood due to the fact that he hates hurting or killing anyone (drinking human blood turns him into an insane, amoral "ripper", choosing to feed from the blood of animals instead. Stefan is weaker than most other vampires, in particular his elder brother Damon who has held a grudge against Stefan for over a century. Early in the series, Stefan fatefully meets and falls in love with Elena Gilbert. He develops a mutual romantic relationship with her while protecting her and her loved ones both from his own nature and other vampires. In the season two finale Stefan reverts back to his darker side, the Ripper, in order to save Damon from dying from a fatal werewolf bite. In exchange for the cure (which is Klaus' hybrid blood), he becomes a servant to The Big Bad, Klaus. Since season three onwards, Stefan has turned on his humanity and reverts back to his normal, humane self.

     Damon Salvatore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/damon_salvatore.jpg
Portrayed by: Ian Somerhalder

"It's cool not growing old. I like being the eternal stud."

Damon is Stefan's malevolent, dangerous and impulsive older brother. He is the anti-hero and the antagonist (especially in season one) of the series. He is most certainly not a Friendly Neighbourhood Vampire. He long ago swore to make Stefan's life "an eternity of misery". At first, he kills a lot of people in Mystic Falls, but later moderates his behaviour for a number of reasons but he remains dangerous. When he wants to, Damon can be charming and hilarious... but also cruel and capricious, and capable of killing on a whim. For the first season, Damon is the series' Antagonist, but has reverted his status to help Stefan and protect Elena.

    Giuseppe Salvatore

Giuseppe Salvatore

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Giuseppe_Salvatore_805.jpg
Portrayed by: James Remar

"These creatures are of the darkest parts of hell...they must be destroyed!"

  • Abusive Parent: He would physically abuse his children as a method of disciplinary action.
  • The Alcoholic: Stefan mentions how after his mother died, Giuseppe became a heavy drinker.
  • Blood Knight: Giuseppe is always eager to kill and eradicate as many vampires as possible.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: After Giuseppe's wife died, he used alcohol as a coping mechanism for his grief.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Giuseppe tries to stake Stefan as a vampire, but instead, Giuseppe ends up fatally wounded after he was staked by the same stake that he was going to use to kill his own son.
  • Karmic Death: Giuseppe ends up being killed by his own son Stefan, who happens to be a vampire, the one thing that he hunts and despises.
  • Killed Off for Real: After rejecting Stefan for siding with the vampires, he tried to stake him with a wooden stake that he broke off himself, but he was thrown aside with the impact of Stefan's unexpected vampire strength and accidentally stabbed himself with the stake.
  • Parental Favoritism: For Stefan, whom he admired for being studious and responsible while he believed his eldest son Damon was irresponsible and lacked any sense of direction.
  • Protectorate: As a member of one of the Founding Families of Mystic Falls, Giuseppe had a duty to protect the town of Mystic Falls from vampires.
  • The Stoic: Doesn't show emotion and is very stern.
  • Vampire Hunter: Hunts vampires and sees them as an abomination.

     Zach Salvatore

Zach Salvatore

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Zach_3771.jpg
Portrayed by: Chris William Martin

"Blood only runs so deep when you're related to vampires."

  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: He gets killed by Damon early in season 1, but nobody really seems to care or notice that he's gone and Damon is Easily Forgiven for killing him by the few people that know.
  • Neck Snap: Damon kills him by snapping his neck for revenge after Zach helped Stefan lock him up.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Despite Stefan telling him how dangerous it is to see Damon, he still sees to it to go and taunt him, which gets him killed.
  • Unfazed Everyman: He was a human distant nephew who lived with Stefan and Damon initially and took a lot of their antics, and other supernatural elements in stride.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Dies after five episodes in season 1.

     Lily Salvatore

Lillian 'Lily' Salvatore

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvd7_lily_salvatore.jpg
Portrayed by: Annie Wersching

"You have no idea what devastation feels like. But you will. Because I am going to find a way to get my people back. No matter what it takes."

Stefan and Damon's mother. Lily died of consumption in 1858. In Season Six, it is revealed Lily actually became a vampire. She eventually became a Ripper vampire like Stefan was. Lily was imprisoned in a Prison World by the Gemini Coven of witches on October 31, 1903.

     Sara Nelson

Sara Nelson (born Sara Salvatore)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/74a76c4eb5e057e8f636ac99ee94b87f.jpg
Portrayed by: Tristin Mays

"This is why I don't go to the Animal Shelter"
Daughter of Zach Salvatore, Sara is the only living member of the Salvatore bloodline.
  • Back for the Dead: Returns in season 8 and gets killed by Sybil in the one episode she appears in.
  • Character Death: Stabbed by Sybil and dies in front of Stefan in season 8.
  • Morality Pet: To Enzo and Stefan, who try to keep her safe and let down some of their emotions around her.
  • Nice Girl: Lampshaded by Enzo. She's friendly and trusting despite her Dark and Troubled Past
  • Happily Adopted: She is content with her adoptive family and has no interest in re-seeking her roots.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Her mother was killed by Damon when she was pregnant (with Sara barely being saved), and her father hypnotized into forgetting she ever existed.
  • Twofer Token Minority: Of her own family. She's the only woman and she's biracial.
  • When She Smiles: Obviously there's a lot to leave her concerned or upset in the world of the series but when she smiles she looks very bright and cute.

Gilbert Family

     Elena Gilbert

Elena Gilbert

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elena_gilbert.jpg
Portrayed by: Nina Dobrev

"I don't question why everyone tries so hard to save me. You shouldn't question why I try so hard to save everyone else."

     Jeremy Gilbert
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/s4_007.jpg
Portrayed by: Steven R. McQueen

"Why does everyone keep dying on me?"

Elena's little brother took their parents' death poorly, falling into self-destruction and drug abuse. He also fell in love with the troubled and older Girl Next Door, Vicki Donovan. He's far from stupid, and Elena's desperate attempts to protect him from the vampires only make him suspicious and he starts to distrust her.

     Jenna Sommers

Jenna Sommers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jenna_gilbert.jpg
Portrayed by: Sara Canning

"I've become my worst nightmare. The authority figure."

In a better world, Jenna could have been an awesome cool aunt to Elena and Jeremy. With the tragic death of her sister and brother-in-law, however, she has to step up into the role of guardian for the two of them but she's not really suited for it. Still, she tries... and at least she gets a nice love interest in the form of Alaric, following the second mysterious disappearance of Logan "Scum" Fell. She is turned into a vampire and then sacrificed by Klaus.
  • Adults Are Useless: Despite being the adult figure in Elena and Jeremy's life, she doesn't seem to have much luck in parenting them, and obviously can help them even less when supernatural things start happening.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In the books, Elena's aunt's name is Judith Maxwell (nee Gilbert). On the show, she's Jenna Sommers.

     John Gilbert

John Gilbert

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/John_Gilbert_8313.jpg
Portrayed: by David Anders

"You know, Jeremy, I was taught to hate them, the vampires. It’s what I know. It’s what your father knew."

  • Heroic Sacrifice: After Klaus killed Elena, John sacrificed himself to bring her back to life as a human.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: Sacrificing his life to resurrect Elena without her having to turn into a vampire ends up being for nothing when she dies with vampire blood in her system in the season 3 finale, and she completes the transition in the season 4 premier, becoming a vampire.

    Grayson & Miranda Gilbert

Grayson Gilbert & Miranda Sommers Gilbert

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miranda_and_grayson.jpg
Portrayed: by Jason Macdonald and Erin Beute

Grayson and Miranda were Elena and Jeremy's mom and dad. Grayson was also John Gilbert's older brother and the town doctor of Mystic Falls.Grayson and Miranda were both members of the Town Council and thus knew about vampires.

Grayson and Miranda were both killed in a car accident going off Wickery Bridge before the start of the series. It's later revealed that Grayson and Miranda were actually Elena's biological uncle and aunt making Jeremy her cousin.

  • Birds of a Feather: Miranda was this with Kelly Donovan and Liz Forbes when she was alive.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: In season 5, Grayson is revealed to have been apart of the Augustine Society and participated in the torture and experimentation on vampires.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Grayson gestures to Stefan to rescue Elena instead of himself when they are drowning underwater when the car crashed resulting in his death as Stefan only had enough time to save one of them.
  • Posthumous Characters: Before the beginning of the series, Grayson and Miranda drowned after their car fell off of Wickery Bridge and into the lake.
  • Secret Keepers: As members of the council they knew of the existence of vampires and the supernatural and kept the information secret from their children and the town.

    Johnathan Gilbert

Johnathan Gilbert

Portrayed: by Joe Knezevich

Elena and Jeremy's ancestor who was part of the vampire round up in Mystic Falls in 1864.

     Isobel Flemming-Saltzman

Isobel Flemming-Saltzman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/isolvel_tvd.jpg
Portrayed by: Mia Kirshner

"I am selfish, and I'm obsessed, and I'm a horrible wife. But you love me anyway."

Elena's birth mother, Katherine's descendant, and Alaric's ex-wife.

Forbes Family

     Caroline Forbes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/caroline_forbes.jpg
"So you're saying now I'm an insecure, neurotic control freak... on crack?"

    Liz Forbes

Sheriff Elizabeth 'Liz' Forbes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Liz_Forbes_4621.jpg
Portrayed by: Marguerite MacIntyre

Liz was the sheriff of Mystic Falls and a member of the Founder's Council. She was the ex-wife of late fellow Founder's Council member Bill Forbes, who came out as being gay, and mother of Caroline. She initially struggled to accept Caroline's identity as a vampire given her prejudices, but in time she learned to love her daughter for who she is.

  • Accidental Murder: She accidentally killed Jeremy when she shoots at Damon, and he dodges the bullet, hitting Jeremy. Bonnie is forced to have the witch ancestors bring him back, since Liz wasn't a supernatural creature, meaning that the Gilbert ring wouldn't bring him back.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When, in Season 3, Caroline is kidnapped and tortured by her father to try and suppress her vampirism, Liz (and Tyler) burst in and save the day.
  • Heel Realization: She has this when she accidentally kills Jeremy when she was trying to kill Damon, and after this she accepts Caroline for what she is.
  • Incompatible Orientation: Bill Forbes, her husband and father to Caroline, left her when he came out as a homosexual.
  • Killed Off for Real: Succumbs to cancer in Season 6.
  • Mama Bear: Sheriff Forbes has a strained relationship with her daughter, but she cares for her well-being. When Caroline gets drunk at the Mystic Grill, she arrests the bartender for not checking the IDs properly (unaware that Lexi had used compulsion on him). She later fights against other supernatural creatures and will also cover up murders done by her vampire friends to protect her daughter.
  • Odd Friendship: Has this with Damon before finding out he's a vampire and, even after finding out, Damon shows that he legitimately considers her his friend by not killing her like he did with her deputies. She generally starts seeing him as a friend when she accepts her daughter as a vampire and that not all vampires are evil. They later become best friends. Damon is also distraught when she dies from cancer and gives a eulogy at her funeral.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: When she was able to accept that her daughter Caroline is a vampire, she becomes this and by also helping the Salvatore brothers and her other friends with the supernatural problems of the town.
  • Unwitting Pawn: When Damon manipulates her into killing Lexi by making her seem like the dangerous vampire.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: She is at first this when she is hunting and killing vampires because as far as she knew they were all evil and she was protecting the town by killing them before they can kill anyone else. This attitude towards vampires results in her trying to kill her own daughter when finding out she was turned into one.

    Bill Forbes

Bill Forbes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/BillForbes_1590.jpg
Portrayed by: Jack Coleman

William "Bill" Forbes II was a Mystic Falls resident who returned to point out all the failings of the current Council’s attempts to keep vampires out of town, after discovering that his daughter, Caroline, is one of them.

  • Badass Normal: He is a human with no supernatural powers, until he's murdered with the vampire blood still in his system. However he refuses to feed to complete the transition and dies.
  • Death Equals Redemption: He accepts that Caroline is a vampire and spends his final moments with her as he is dying from not completing the transition.
  • Face Death with Dignity: When killed with vampire blood in his system and left with the choice to either become a vampire or die, he chose the latter without hesitation, and uses his remaining time to reconcile with his daughter and ex-wife, waiting calmly for his death.
  • Have I Mentioned I Am Gay?: The only reason that we know that he is gay, is because people keep saying that he is, not because he ever kisses men or anything. Even then he only mentions his off-screen boyfriend once when Caroline asks about him.
  • Hypocrite: He believes he can make Caroline change what she is, despite the fact that he is a homosexual. Weirdly enough, he also averts this trope regarding his conviction that vampirism and cheating death are wrong, as seen in the Face Death with Dignity entry.
  • Immune to Mind Control: The only known human character so far who can actually No-Sell a vampire's compelling without relying on vervain.
  • Incompatible Orientation: He left his wife Liz when he came out as a homosexual.
  • Karmic Transformation: Subverted and defied; he is killed with vampire blood in his system, but refuses to complete his transformation and lets himself die instead.
  • Killed Off for Real: By Alaric (while he was taken over by The Darkness), who stabbed him to death and cut his throat while having vampire blood in his system.
  • Straight Gay: He is not stereotypical, and, as stated, the only reason you know he is gay is because the other characters talk about him being so, and that he left Liz when he came out.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He comes back to town when he finds out that Caroline is a vampire and his intention is to teach her how to control her vampire nature, but his methods on teaching her are to torture her with sunlight and starving her to force her to resist the temptation to feed off a people. Also like other members of the founding families. he hunts and kills vampires to protect the town.

Lockwood Family

     Tyler Lockwood
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyler_lockwood.jpg
Portrayed by: Michael Trevino

"I have no one else to tell. I'm sorry about earlier. It's just, I'm alone with this. What's gonna happen to me? I'm gonna turn on the next full moon, and I won't be able to stop it. I'm scared."

Matt's best friend, though the two couldn't be more different - Tyler seems to be nothing more than a Jerk Jock, and the son of the town's Mayor. But his parents are very unpleasant people... and Tyler has actually inherited more from his father than just womanizing ways and a hair-trigger temper... The Lockwood bloodline are actually potential werewolves, and following Katherine's plan in the second season Tyler becomes a full werewolf himself.

    Richard Lockwood

Portrayed by: Robert Pralgo.

    Carol Lockwood

Carol Lockwood

"You know, if you`re going to bring a girl home I wish she`d have the tact not to sneak out like a prostitute."
Portrayed by: Susan Walters.

  • Action Mom: A mother who is willing to fight the monsters of Mystic Falls, especially to protect her son.
  • Killed Off for Real: Carol is drowned by Klaus as revenge for Tyler's attempt to immobilize him.

    Mason Lockwood

Mason Lockwood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Mason_Lockwood_7484.jpg
Portrayed by: Taylor Kinney

"Oh, what am I? I apologize. I’m an animal."

Tyler's uncle and a member of Jules' werewolf pack.

  • Agent Scully: Plays up his reputation as a skeptic, but he knows for a fact that there's more out there.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: When he was first confronted by Damon, he made it clear he had no intention of being the Salvatore's enemy and would rather mind his own business. Damon tried to kill him regardless, resulting in him actively trying to get the two brothers killed. Partially subverted when it's revealed he was working for Katherine anyway; his mission just didn't involve harming them.
  • Back from the Dead: In season 3 he appears as a ghost to Damon in order to hurt him, but also help him find a way to defeat Klaus, in order to help his nephew, who Klaus turned into a hybrid.
  • Blatant Lies: He's not very good at hiding the fact he's a werewolf.
Tyler: Your eyes, they glowed... what was that?
    Mason: Reflection. Off car headlamps.
  • Cool Uncle: To Tyler. He is sexy, athletic, and possesses an easygoing charm, making him more likable and cool than his brother and Tyler's father.
  • Kick the Dog: While you can't really blame him for trying to get the Salvatore killed after Damon tried to kill him, he really had no good reason to threaten Caroline with revealing her vampiric nature to her mother.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: He was easily manipulated by his lover Katherine and had no idea she was just using him to find the moonstone.

    Jeffrey Lockwood-Hamilton
Played By: Justin Price

  • Living Prop: He exists solely to be Caroline's escort to a prom committee mostly containing Founding Families members in one episode.
  • Tangled Family Tree: His exact relationship to Tyler, his parents and Mason is unclear.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Alaric eventually claims that Tyler was the last of the Lockwood's, making it unclear whether Jeffrey (and Gracie Lockwood, an unseen female relative mentioned in season 4) were killed offscreen at some point or simply weren't being counted for being more distant relatives and/or uninvolved in the supernatural.

Fell Family

    Logan Fell

Logan Fell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Logan_Fell_3935.jpg
Portrayed by: Chris Johnson

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He pretends to be nice to Jenna when he was only using her to get Johnathan Gilbert's watch for The Town Council from her house
  • Bullying a Dragon: He riddled Damon with wooden bullets while taunting him, but left him without finishing him off. It comes back to bite him when Damon goes after him.
  • Jerkass: According to Jenna. He does attempt to act nicer while working with the council, but his jerkassery becomes more apparent than ever once he becomes a vampire.
  • Revenge by Proxy: Tries to turn Caroline into a vampire in order to get back at the Sheriff for covering up his death.

    Meredith Fell

Dr. Meredith Fell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meredith_fell.jpg
Played By: Torrey DeVitto

  • Adaptation Name Change: Her last name is Sulez in the novels.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul In the novels, Meredith is part of Elena close circle of friends along with Bonnie and Caroline. In the series, Meredith is older than them, being part of the town's council and has never met them prior to season 3.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the books, Meredith is a skilled vampire hunter whose mental strength is so great that she can resist vampire compulsion and is the only person Damon admits to being afraid of. In the series, she has no fighting capabilities.
  • Age Lift: Her book counterpart is in the same age range as Elena, Bonnie and Caroline. In the show, she is older than them and is around Alaric's age.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: She's known to resort to drinking after losing a patient.
  • Hospital Hottie: She's a very attractive doctor who works at Mystic Falls Hospital.
  • Hyper-Awareness: She's extremely good at noticing small details or deducing things. She can usually recognize vampires just by looking at them, at easily notices Matt and Elena hiding in her closet when they break into her home.
  • Ignore the Fanservice: She's noticeably one of the few female characters in the series not to show any attraction to vampires, and actually showing distaste when they attempt to charm or seduce her, such as Damon and Kol.
  • Love Interest: For Alaric, who she shares most of her scenes. She's notably his only love interest to have survived his Cartwright Curse.
  • The Medic: Once she's on good terms with the main cast, they often seek her help with medical matters.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: A very pretty, intellectual woman.
  • Nice Girl: She's very kind and cares a lot about her patients.
  • Put on a Bus: In Season 6, it's revealed she married a pediatrician and moved to Alaska. Might also count as Screw This, I'm Outta Here given how crazy things had been getting in Mystic Falls.
  • Race Lift: Meredith is Hispanic in the books. Here she is played by a white actress of Italian descent.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She's one of the council members more inclined to reason with the supernatural than just attacked it.
  • Red Herring: Was one of the suspects for Brian's murder, as she was his ex and was seen arguing with him the night he died.
  • Remember the New Guy?: She is a member of the Founders Council who helps run the town, but only appears in Season 3.
  • The Smart Girl: She is very keen and she can easily tell vampires from humans when she first meets them. She is also a medical doctor.
  • Working with the Ex Had to work with her ex Brian Walters on the hospital and as a member of the council. Due to her dislike for him, she's Damon's primary suspect when he's found dead.

    Tripp Cooke

Tripp Cooke (born Thomas Vincent Fell III)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7e101bc52b76ec981e05278d0210ff94.png
Portrayed by: Colin Ferguson

"Vampires. They are real. And one murdered my wife."

Tripp Cooke, born Thomas Vincent Fell III, is the head of Mystic Falls new militia community in Season Six whose trainees include Matt Donovan. Tripp is determined to protect his town at all costs. He is also a vampire hunter.

  • Anti-Hero: Of Type IV.
  • Badass Normal: When he's not training his community militia, Tripp hunts down vampires - one has to be a badass in order to do so.
  • Big Bad: Of the first seven episodes of Season Six.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: He changed his name from Thomas "Tripp" Vincent Fell to Tripp Cooke with the given explanation below.
"My dad called me "Tripp", I was such a clumsy kid that . . . I took my mom's maiden name when he bailed - I mean could you imagine? Tripp Fell?"
  • Fate Worse than Death: Tripp is firm in his believe that being a vampire is worse than death.
  • A Father to His Men: Tripp serves a surrogate father figure to his young militia trainees.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Tripp uses the Traveller witches' Magic Purification Spell over Mystic Falls to exterminate vampires. Guess what Enzo does to deliver some comeuppance on Tripp for trying to kill him? See Karmic Death and Karmic Transformation below.
  • It's Personal: His wife Kris was killed by a vampire right in front of him. Futhermore the vampire compelled him to think she died of a car accident which was his fault. His crusade against vampires has shades of this.
  • Karmic Death: When Tripp crosses over the Magic Purification border, he suddenly dies via slit throat, revealing he'd been transformed into a vampire.
  • Karmic Transformation: Tripp was transformed into a vampire by Enzo, the very creatures he hated.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: After the Mystic Falls vampires capture him, his own men hold Sheriff Forbes hostage. Matt calls him out on this.

  • Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: The moment he arrives in town and becomes mayor, he attempts to keep Bonnie away from her vampire friends and stop her from using magic even to help them. Donovan Family

    Matt Donovan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/matt_donovan.jpg
Portrayed by: Zach Roerig

"I get it, this is your life now. But you know what my life is, Caroline? My life is an absentee mom, and a bunch of bills to pay, and school, and a job, and it sucks sometimes, but it's my life and I think that I just want to live it without all this."

    Vicki Donovan

Vicki Donovan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vicki_donovan_2.png
Portrayed by: Kayla Ewell

"Don't start with the little twelve-steps thing. School councilor has been down that road, it doesn`t work for me."

Matt's older sister and Jeremy's first girlfriend, Vicki is a compulsive drug user who gets high to avoid her crappy life. She is turned by Damon on a whim.
  • Brutal Honesty: She has a very blunt personality and likes peaking whatever is on her mind, without consideration for other people's feelings.
  • Childish Older Sibling: Although Vicki is the older sibling, Matt is the responsible one and often reprimands Vicki for her consistent recklessness and tries his best to look out for her.
  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: After she is turned, everyone around her suddenly looks like a walking blood bag. According to Stefan, this is usual for a new vampire.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish to Matt's Responsible. Vicki is reckless and self-centered and has a major problem with addiction.
  • Freudian Excuse: Her attitude comes from her awful family situation, with her Disappeared Dad and neglectful mother.
