- Sent Into Hiding: Kept secret for years, with her existence only becoming common knowledge after his death and her ascension to the throne of the Shadowscythe Empire. The reason for all this secrecy isn't known until the second part of the Doomwood saga where it's revealed that she is the Champion of Light, the only thing keeping the Realm of Darkness from destroying the world, and the reason that Sepulchure didn't kill her was out of love for both her and her mother Lynaria.

- Meaningful Name: See Bilingual Bonus above.
- Time Master: One of her powers is creating a timelock, that freezes a location in time.
- Unrequited Love: Has an obvious crush on Warlic, but is too embarrassed to let it out in the open.
The Undead Legion
- Affably Evil: Supposed to be evil, but usually one of the Hero's allies. Only time he isn't is in two-sided wars where you can choose to side with or oppose him.
- Ascended Fanboy: On a meta level, Dage was once a regular player and fan of Artix Entertainment games, before his impressive art skills got him noticed and hired by the company.
- Author Avatar: Of the real life Dage, who is a lead artist for Artix Entertainment.
- Bad Boss: According to the description for one of his quests, he says that the Undead Legion does not tolerate failure and therefore does not wish for those aiming to join the Legion to fail and therefore end up meeting the same fate as the Undead Champions down in BattleUnder B.
- Badass Boast: He pulls off an awesome one directed towards the Beast as he is draining souls from it to reclaim the Undead Legion and the other half of his soul from it.The Beast: Who do you think you are?! You belong to me!
Dage: I am Dage the Evil! Breaker of Contracts. Ruler of the Underworld. Lord of the Legion. Bound to NONE! I am not half of your soul. You are half of mine! And it is time that you return to your rightful place! - Big Damn Heroes: Dage pulls a very awesome moment like this when he shows up just in time to help defeat the Beast, and it's thanks to how much the players have weakened it that he was able to take the other half of his soul AND his legion back without its influence over him.
- Color Motif: He and the Legion are associated with the color blue.
- The Comically Serious: He's dead serious, even when some minions have comedic traits. He doesn't approve of humor within the Undead Legion, as shown when Laken cuts down a Legion Judge for talking about ponies and lollipops.
- Dark Is Evil: Very clearly sided with evil, and lives is an undead creature of darkness who resides in the underworld.
- Dem Bones: Underneath his helm, he's just a skeleton.
- Even Evil Has Standards: As J6's House of Horrors shows, there is something that even Dage is terrified of and will run in fear from. He's also disgusted by how his future self let himself be driven mad by the power he gained from his successes which is what leads him to decide on changing his fate, and he sincerely apologizes to Ada for Laken's death since he knew it was necessary due to knowledge that a legion run by a broken and insane Laken would threaten not just the World Soul but also all of Lore. Such a shame that Ada rejected his apology and swore vengeance on him and those who sided with him in putting her father figure down instead.
- Evil Laugh: Has a vocal one in Frostval 2013 "Dark Winter" and Dage's Birthday 2017 "Future Legion".
- Evil Overlord: Or, should we say, Dark Lord of the Undead Legion.
- Evil Versus Evil: His long running war with Nulgath is this.
- Evil Wears Black: Wears a helm and cape, dressed in dark colors, and Was Once a Man.
- Expressive Mask: His helm actually, with the visor changing shape if he's "smiling" of "laughing".
- Future Me Scares Me: Not so much scaring, but Present Dage is disgusted by what he becomes in the future and wishes to change his fate.
- If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!: For as long as he's used his current form, Dage wanted nothing more than to become strong enough to defeat Nulgath ever since he betrayed him. But once he sees for himself that his future self in 3017 has become everything he's hated about Nulgath, he ultimately comes to understand the requirement for balance between the living and the dead and thus abandons his desire to continue his enmity with him and decides to opt for a different way to free himself from Nulgath's contract instead.
- I Hate Past Me: Future Dage thinks of Present Dage as weak and worthless.
- Kick the Dog: At least a few times in the Frostval 2013 event (he hasn't been seen doing it anytime else). What's the first thing he does after Nippy greets him with a Frostval gift? He throws him off a cliff, followed by his present itself (after which Nippy is later turned undead).
- He later throws a Legion Minion off a cliff for failing him after Frostfang has been defeated (See You Have Failed Me below).
- Lack of Empathy: He certainly shows no regrets for anybody willing to sell their souls to him to join the Undead Legion. According to the item description for the Undead Champion armor, he believes that remorse is a sign of weakness, and weakness is not tolerated. That aside, however, he does give a sincere apology to Ada for the fact that there's no way around ultimately having to give a Mercy Kill to Laken when he gives in to his insanity, which Ada, unfortunately for him, refuses to accept out of refusal to forgive him for what happened to her caretaker.
- My Future Self and Me: In Dage's Birthday 2017, Dage and the Hero are summoned to the future by a Future Laken to help prevent a Bad Future. They're too late, and Future Dage has devoured everyone in existence. But they still try to stop Future Dage to prevent him from doing the same thing to other timelines. Present Dage and Future Dage do battle with one another.
- Obviously Evil: His skull-covered armor and demonic horns sure are a dead giveaway. Of course, however, like Nulgath, he doesn't kick dogs whatsoever (save for the 2013 Frostval event when he throws Nippy, his Frostval gift, and later one Legion Minion who had failed him off a cliff), let alone cross the depravity line.
- Omnicidal Maniac: In a Bad Future during the year 3017, it's revealed that once Dage obtained the other half of his soul and defeated Nulgath, he would go on to devour the soul of everyone in the world. Once he lays waste to one world, he'd travel to another timeline and begin feeding there too.
- Pet the Dog: While Dage is evil, he is kind enough to lend you some rare items on his birthday.
- Physical God: Not a true God, but the fact he conquered the underworld and has control over many powerful beings like Thanatos and the Horsemen, really emphasizes just how much power this guy has.
- The Rival: To Nulgath.
- In the past, he also had another rival named Blightbringer, whom he had Rand deal with and kill for him.
- Smug Super: He is indeed VERY confident that he will show Nulgath that the student has surpassed the master.
- The Soulless: He gave up his soul for power.
- The Starscream: He originally served as Nulgath's apprentice, but secretly planned to learn what he needed before betraying his master. His quest to be so started a rivalry between the two that eventually graduated into an all-out war for the Underworld.
- Took a Level in Kindness: After the Dage's Birthday 2017 event, Future Legion, once Dage defeats Future Dage and sees what he has become, Dage has an epiphany. His end goal is no longer seeking more power, he's uncertain if defeating Nulgath is the right decision since it broke Future Dage, and he now accepts there must be a balance between the living and the dead with Lore rightfully belonging to the living.
- Villain Respect: Regardless of whether or not you're on his side, Dage clearly has respect for the Hero.
- You Are What You Hate: Dage notes that after Future Dage defeated Nulgath, he became just like Nulgath, the very thing Dage despised. This thoroughly disgusts Present Dage.
- You Have Failed Me: In the Frostval 2013 event, he throws a Legion Minion off a cliff in the same manner that he did with Nippy and his Frostval gift at the beginning of the adventure after Frostfang's defeat at the hero's hands.
- Your Soul Is Mine!: He has a rather strong obsession with collecting them.
Rogath
Associated tropes:
- Cool Sword: His Caladbolg weapon, which, surprisingly, all Skull Warriors who are others like him wield.
- King Mook: He's actually a generic Skull Warrior who provides heroes with shops and quests.
- Skull for a Head
The Stranger / Laken
Associated tropes:
- The Dragon: To Dage. At least, until he finds out that Dage is no longer interested in destroying Nulgath, and from there, he becomes obsessed with taking over the Legion and turning it into the Blood Legion.
- Evil All Along: Despite taking good care of Ada, an important member of the Seraphic Paladins, he is eventually revealed to still be loyal to Dage, faking his betrayal against him so he could deliver the Dark Shard to him. Too bad for him that he didn't realize Dage's change of plans up to that point.
- Pet the Dog: He's very kind to the Seraphic Paladins and especially Ada, even when he reveals that he's manipulated them to deliver the Dark Shard to Dage.
- Ridiculously Successful Future Self: The Stranger is actually Laken from the future who, in fact, joined the Undead Legion before traveling back to the present for the Dage vs. Nulgath war.
- Villainous Breakdown: Once he realizes that Dage no longer wishes to kill Nulgath and conquer Lore, he snaps and announces his intent to replace the Undead Legion with his Blood Legion. From there, it's only a matter of time before the realization that any legion run by an insane Laken would pose a threat to Lore and beyond.
Rand Ravenson
A farm boy who lost his home, family, and friends when his hometown, Ravenscar Village, was attacked and destroyed by Blightbringer's undead army. He teamed up with Dage the Evil, who wanted to help him make Blightbringer pay for all the damage he had done. It turns out that Dage had him defeat Blightbringer for him so he could recruit him as the first member of his Undead Legion.Associated Tropes:
- Fantastic Racism: His hatred towards the undead when they destroyed his village. In the end, however, he was turned undead by Dage before he could gain Blightbringer's power, and was forced to serve Dage in undeath.
- He Who Fights Monsters: His successful revenge against Blightbringer with Dage's help is what made him into Dage's first recruit... but not before he disposed of him and turned him undead because he didn't want him to become another competitor with him due to just having defeated one competitor once.
- Revenge: He's plenty pissed off at the undead and Blightbringer for what they did to Ravenscar, and he lets them know of this in no uncertain terms.
The Horsemen of the Undead Apocalypse
A group of four of Dage's most loyal servants, these undead centaur-looking god-like beings serve to test the skills of the players in combat. They appear in Dage's 2014 birthday event.Associated Tropes:
- Cool Sword: A flaming sword that War wields.
- Damage-Sponge Boss: They all have high amounts of HP, plus their attacks can hit for impressive amounts of damage.
- Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Yes, you get to beat the crap out of All. Four. Horsemen. Period.
- Dual Wielding: Famine wields a pair of icy-hot curved daggers, while Death wields two scythes.
- Horsemen of the Apocalypse: What all four are based on and inspired by.
- Light Is Not Good: Conquest. According to the item descriptions for his capes, his clothing is made of bright white underworld heat, which is often mistaken for angelic light.
- Playing with Fire: War's flaming sword.
- Skull for a Head: Famine and Death. War also has one under his helmet, as shown in the armor.
The Beast
Long ago, before wars were fought for control of the underworld, and before civilization gained form, the legendary cataclysmic titan known simply as the Beast roamed Lore, attacking villages and stealing souls while allowing none to pass over to the afterlife until Nulgath, enlisted by Death, defeated it and split its soul in two. One half of its souls contained cunning and a thirst for conquest that was given to a cursed king who would in undeath become Dage the Evil, while the other contained its hunger for souls and was sealed away in a portion of the underworld known as the Seven Circles. Now, the Beast is attempting to break free from its chains and devour its other half, Dage himself, and it's up to the players to explore the Seven Circles and stop the Beast's escape by confronting and defeating it deep within the seventh circle of the underworld.Associated Tropes:
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: This creature is perhaps one of the biggest-sized monsters in the game, towering over all players and fought in a giant-sized room.
- Big "NO!": The Beast screams three instances of this when Dage drains so many souls from it that it ends up being turned to stone.
- Damage-Sponge Boss: Not only does this thing have ridiculously high amounts of health, its damage output is also ridiculously high, and you definitely want to recommend some Void Highlords and Legion Revenants to help you out as the Beast is considered by far one of the most difficult bosses in the game.
- Eldritch Abomination: This is a massive calamity in Undead Abomination form that, in the past, destroyed many villages and stole so many souls, and even the fiend swarms sent by Nulgath weren't enough to stop its hunger! It took Nulgath himself slicing its soul in two to finally stop it, and its hunger was sealed away and is now trying to break free from its chains and consume Dage himself. And the closer Dage gets to the Beast, the more influence it has over him, until the players weaken it through battle.
- Undead Abomination: Just look at its skull-like shoulder plates and horned skull-like face!
- Faux Affably Evil: It acts friendly around the players while talking about making paradise, but the charm it emits from its sentences are just a simply scathing act as part of its eagerness to devour their souls knowing that they are the reincarnations of the Eternal Dragon of Time. Luckily, Dage's Big Damn Heroes moment quickly fixes things up.
- Take Over the World: The Beast plans to "make Lore its paradise" alongside its desire to consume Dage as well as the soul of the Eternal Dragon of Time that lies within the players.
- Taken for Granite: It suffers this fate after Dage has drained enough souls from it and taken the souls of the Undead Legion back from it.
- Villain Has a Point: Yes, this thing is definitely out to bring calamity to all of Lore, but it feels rather nice to hear from it that the players are driven by pride that drives them to commit heroic deeds, envy that makes them want to strike down foes for their power, and greed for power and rewards that drive them even further.
- Villainous Breakdown: The Beast loses its composure when Dage starts draining souls from it, and as he continues to do so, it only gets even worse before it turns to stone.
- Your Soul Is Mine!: In the past, the Beast demolished entire villages and stole many souls, forbidding all to pass over to the afterlife. In the present, it wants to devour Dage to become whole again, and is interested in stealing the soul of the Eternal Dragon of Time as well.
Tercessuinotlim
- Arch-Enemy: To Dage the Evil. Interesting enough to note that both call each other "pretenders" to the title of Lord of Evil, which inspires their rivalry.
- Author Avatar: Of the real life Nulgath who is an artist for Artix Entertainment. He also took in the real life Dage as his apprentice artist, which is what the master-apprentice relatioship between Nulgath and Dage was inspired by.
- Affably Evil: Players have the option of joining Nulgath.
- Didn't See That Coming: When Nulgath tries to return to Lore by merging the Chaos of OverSoul with the Chaos on Lore using a Chaos artifact, he is caught completely off-guard by Beleen barging in squeeing over the pink chaos eye, and accidentally taking the chaos powers for herself.
- Disappointed in You: States this to Dage during their final battle, just before some of his followers reveal themselves to be working with Dage now, to Nulgath's surprise.
- Evil Is Hammy: In sterotypical villain fashion, he loves boasting about how terrifyingly evil he is.
- Evil Overlord: He once ruled over Lore, and later the OverSoul.
- Extra Eyes: Has six slitted demonic eyes on his head.
- Fountain of Youth: Chaos Queen Beleen turns him into a cute chibi baby ArchFiend
- Evil Versus Evil: His long running war with Dage the Evil is this.
- Invincible Villain: Is regularly impossible to defeat, unless you're able to avoid all of his attacks and make yourself invincible to them.
- Obviously Evil: He's a demon and his title is Abyss General. What else would you expect?
- Our Demons Are Different: He's called an ArchFiend but he pretty much fits all the other demon aspects.
- Satan: He does make some deals however he has a Master that may fit the trope.
- Stern Teacher: And a patient one to those loyal to him.
- Sweet Tooth: Heavily implied, given the flavor text and copious amounts of chocolate-related items needed to complete many of his quests, or to merge high-level items. There's even a purchasable chocolate shaped after himself that any aspiring Void Highlords would need to obtain the class.
- This Means War!: Nulgath declares war on Dage in the first part of the "Master of the Underworld" saga after the latter has betrayed the Nulgath Nation, started making his own army (later known as the Undead Legion), and slain the Commandant who was loyal to the former and converted his soul to his cause.Nulgath: So it is a war that Dage wants? Fine! I will bring it to him! Fiends of the Nation! Void Knights! Hexes! Rise! We shall rain death and destruction upon the Traitor! We shall pluck his soul from his husk and then... YOU! SHALL! FEAST!
- Villain of Another Story: He once ruled over Lore before being banished to the OverSoul by Dage the Evil, Artix, and other heroes of Lore.
- Wowing Cthulhu: Nulgath is impressed upon hearing news of the destruction of one of his Fiend Shards courtesy of the heroes and the Oversoul spirit, stating that he doesn't punish strength as the heroes know and reasoning that they stuck with its plan to prove their strength to him and deciding that he'd just have to make his followers' tasks more difficult from that point onward. His master Adimonde finds it interesting that he wasn't furious at all with them for daring to betray him like that.

- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Like many vampires, her eyes are red.
- Talk Like a Pirate: Significantly less than most Artix Entertainment pirates, but it's still there.
- Affably Evil: He's so charismatic, charming, and friendly that it's easy to forget he's trying to kill you as a sacrifice to bring himself back to Lore permanently, and he had Voltaire use his wicked imagination to produce monsters to keep Kimberly playing her music (with spikes threatening to crush her should she stop playing), which was keeping Constantin lying in wait for the hero should he/she escape their prison, and even brainwashed Bubble and her cat with the same name as her and yet he still manages to continue to be polite and friendly despite all that. Even Safiria admits that everyone loves him despite him hiding his darker side from other people. Ultimately, however, he drops all his affability and flies into a rage once the hero knocks out Barnabus, whom he loves as his butler very much.
- Badass Boast: Gives one to the hero and his/her troupe during his Villainous Breakdown.Maxius: I am older and more powerful than you could ever imagine. - Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Once he sees what you've done to Barnabus, he shouts "HOW. DARE. YOU?" in ALL CAPS at the beginning of his Villainous Breakdown as a setup for his One-Winged Angel transformation.
