openRestoring a page Videogame
The page Warcraft The Artifact Weapons was cut because quote: "We shouldn't be giving a CHARACTER page to a bunch of inanimate objects."
That's fair, but the problem here is that some of the 'objects' are sapient weaponry with character traits of their own, some of which have manifested physical avatars and one of which have been transferred into a physical humanoid body. And these characters were not transferred to other pages where they belong. The page was cut without a chance to do this.
I would like for the page to be restored to pre-cut, at least until this can be rectified.
Edited by TheharboopenBaldi’s Basics Videogame
Troper Real Escape 99 has been repeatedly editing the pages related to Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning. During these edits, he has repeatedly used tropes that imply Filename2 is an Omnicidal Maniac, even though there is no evidence to indicate this is the case. I bring this up because I feel we need to stop Escape from starting an issue.
openMisused Trope? Videogame
Much of Joey Drew’s character page talks about how he’s revealed to be The Atoner in the ending, but this seems misused to me. He blames someone else for his actions in that same speech, as well as sending said someone to fix joey’s mistakes for him with no way out afterwards and trapping them in an apparent loop with no escape. That doesn’t seem worthy of an atoner. He’s the equivalent of faux affably evil for the atoner trope, is what I’m saying. He ostensibly wants to atone but the minute you take a deeper look it’s evident he doesn’t actually atone at all. Is there an equivalent of this trope that would fit better? Edited by TheLuckOfTheClawsopenFanmade content in moments pages Videogame
I’ve seen word going around that discussing fan-made content is generally looked down upon in moments subpages. However, I’ve also seen many pages — like the TF2 subpages — that have vast sections dedicated to fan content that have gone untouched. Should those sections be deleted anyways? And is this “no fan content” rule down in writing somewhere?
Edited by Notsofriendlyopen12 Tails Online Zero-Context Examples Videogame
Apparently there are zero context examples on the 12 Tails Online which were commented out. I tried to fix some of those examples and I'm looking for a check to see if they are still Zero-Context Examples or if I fixed them and they're valid for TV Tropes now.
openSplitting the film "It Takes Two" from the video game "It Takes Two" Videogame
The recently released video game It Takes Two is connected with the film version It Takes Two via the Trivia and YMMV pages. Neither have any relation with each other, so could use a hard split to differentiate their respective Trivia and YMMV pages plus a disambiguation page.
openCan I merge two near-identical characters? Videogame
Someone made a character folder for Tutorial Unit from FFPS (on the main characters page for FNAF) and listed one completely false trope and one applicable trope. I deleted the incorrect information, meaning the folder has one trope in it (that Hand Unit already has listed). Tutorial Unit is basically Hand Unit in all but name. Can I delete the folder and change the name of Hand Unit’s folder to Hand/Tutorial Unit?
Edited by TheLuckOfTheClawsopen Irisu Syndrome Videogame
Would it be a good idea to merge the main and Darth Wiki pages for Irisu Syndrome? Looking over the page, I feel like it'd benefit from that.
Edited by GalacticDriftwoodopenThe Binding of Isaac has a very ambiguous ending Videogame
The Binding of Isaac got its last ending (for now) a few days ago. It's interpreted pretty unanimously as a literal All Just a Dream ending where it was all a story made up by Isaac on the trope page. All the creator has said about it is that it's not literal and that any interpretation is fine.
What do you usually do in a situation like this? Should it be left alone since it's technically... a correct interpretation? I'd be excited to just write an entry for Ambiguous Ending and add "might be" to every previous entry that calls it a purely happy ending. Anyone familiar with Edmund Mc Millen would know that an Ambiguous Ending is the only happy ending you're going to get from him, and that's why we love him.

So I was Browsing Bioware and found we have pages to their cancelled games.
Command & Conquer (2013) and Shadow Realms. Is this allowed ?
Edited by miraculousopenaddign a picture Videogame
I want to add a picture to the Total War: Warhammer - The Dark Elves, of rakarth's Thousand Maws faction, but i don't really know how to. I select the "submit image" option, i submit a picture, and then... nothing. No message to tell meif the pic is uploaded or not, no message to say what the picture's link is now... how do i find them?
Edited by cricri3007openWhy do we have this character sheet? Videogame
I've noticed that we have a page called Pokémon Glitches and I'm wondering why we even have it.
- I can't think of any other franchises that list glitches (unintentional ones, not ones who are glitches in the narrative) as characters.
- The sections for the more popular glitchesnote Missingno. and 'M have descriptions and examples that veer into Walkthrough Mode.
- Several examples, especially for the less well-known glitches, are ZCEs or shoehorns.
What should be done about it?
Edited by VandagyreopenConcern over Winnie the Pooh's Home Run Derby Videogame
While helping with the That One Boss and That One Level cleanup, I came across some questionable examples on Winnie the Pooh's Home Run Derby, and in the process I've found myself concerned about the page and its subpages in general.
I had no doubt the reason the game even had a page was because of the general Surprise Difficulty reaction it gets, but the memes of how hard it is - and the demonization the pitchers got as a result - have bled into all but one subpage, even though difficulty aside, it's a simple Winnie the Pooh game with no plot.
My main concern is how I should deal with this. Like I said, the issues are quite prominent, but I'm worried about if the pages aren't big enough to warrant a thread on Projects: Short Term, and what I should do instead if they aren't.
Edited by BrashBusteropenMultiple Pages for a planned trilogy? Videogame
Quick question: is there any particular reason some works get made into their own pages when it seems weird to do so? For example; the Total War: Warhammer page is for the first game, Total War: Warhammer II the second, and Total War: Warhammer III for the third. However, all three are linked and meant to expand on each other.
Is it a case of wanting to avoid trope overload?
openHIH For Old Joke? Videogame
Recently Mister Tambourine Man deleted this entry that I had added to So This Is Basically...:
- In the Fire Emblem video, the creepy old man boasts about being the only Gay Option. Come Fire Emblem: Three Houses where it's revealed two-thirds of the same-gender S Supports for Male Byleth at the time of release (and therefore widely understood at the time to be Gay Options) are men old enough to be his father.
In the interest of avoiding an Edit War, I'd like to lay out my justification for why I think the entry fits. First of all, no proper edit reason was given for the deletion.
If it's about the fact that these two characters turned out to not actually be Gay Options, I thought I made it somewhat apparent in the parentheticals. Also the reason I added the entry in the first place was because a large enough number of people drew connections between the video and the situation at the time to make jokes about it (in fact, the sheer amount of memes is how I first heard about the video). So while it's technically inaccurate, and I'm willing to modify the entry to make it clear, it's not shoehorning, and so I'd argue it qualifies as a historic example.
Edited by AlleyOopopenFan-translation names used on pages Videogame
The sequel to Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth was never officially translated into English. However, that page and its subpages universally use English names from a fan translation to refer to the characters. The character sheets clarify the English names are from the fan translation, but still use them. Isn't it more in line with the TVT policy to use the Japanese names? Should this be fixed?
openText replacement? Videogame
Fam Fam Fam Fam Fam removed most instances of "for hi" on VideoGame.Spider Man Miles Morales, which has resulted in phrases like "for him" and "for his" being turned into single letters. Most of their other edits seem fine, so I'm unsure if this is a text replacer or something, though.
openSlightly suspicious troper Videogame
jamesalan added a link to an unofficial web port of Five Nights at Freddy's (hosted on y9freegames.com) on the Five Nights at Freddy's Franchise page. This edit strikes me as a bit odd because:
- It's an unofficial link, on a page about the official work.
- The link itself just reads "Online gameplay link" and is thrown in the middle of the spin-offs section of the page, on top of using the wrong formatting (a dash instead of asterisk for a bullet point), which has a bit of a spammy feel.
- Almost all of that troper's edits consist of adding links to web games.
I removed the link since it was out-of-place, but this incident makes the whole y9freegames site seem suspicious to me. The troper added another link to that site on Happy Wheels, which I'm not sure if it's OK or not.
openEiyuden Chronicles page cut Videogame
The page to Eiyuden Chronicles, an upcoming video game funded on Kickstarter and the Spiritual Successor to Suikoden series was cut for considered being a stub. There were entries in the page, but someone decided that it was troping an unreleased work and hid the entries. I can't find any discussion about hiding the entries and cutting the page now.
Can we get the original page somehow, at least just to archive it off-site, if troping about the unreleased game is restricted? I just want to have the entries already written there ready on release date if that's the case.
There is already gameplay footage and release date on the KS page, if it's a must. I am in impression that it was okay with those requirements, just like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
VideoGame.House Of Ashes has not come out yet and as such, the tropes have been commented out. Since the page has no tropes as a consequence, should it be cut?
