Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

[up]Not seeing the use of that either: if I'm searching The Full Monty I'm after either the film, or the "you can keep your hat on" song from the film. If I'm looking for a trope about funny nudity, I will search for nudity is funny (which leads you to Naked People are Funny).

Requesting some additions/changes to Cerberus Daily News

Ace Pilot: Gatrinex, who was a Turian Hierarchy fighter jock. He died early in the Reaper War, shot down over Palaven.

An Arm and a Leg: As Shadow Pyjak notes, "Mekan has two prosthetic legs and an arm. This should tell you everything you need to know about Mekan's life decisions."

As Long as There Is Evil: The last sentiment of Discori, who as he dies mocks the idea that good intentions can ever change the nature of the Terminus.

Cannibal Clan: Z-Tribe.

Crisis of Faith: And a possible Rage Against the Heavens with Druss Jorkakt, whose bitterness over what she perceives as the volus' short end of the stick eventually results in her discarding the volus gods.

Dark Messiah: Arguably Marcus Koren, the supposed saviour of the biotics, had these qualities.

Fisher King: Jorgal Dwick's larger than life personality and physical girth are diminished when the asari finally start reclaiming the city of "Nos Dwicka" on Illium.

Hidden Depths: One of the central themes with Prax ("Deadbeat"), who clearly could be so much more than the apathetic layabout he chooses to be.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Anyone who tries to do something helpful for Dani will find themselves screwed over by Dani. Most notably, Jil'Korah once brought her a new suit, only to be immediately mugged by her.

Simulated Urban Combat Area: Common, particularly on Illium. Periodically, characters will meet to challenge themselves in these.

The Alleged Car: Turul's ship, which looks like it belongs on a trash heap. Basically a Running Gag, in that most of Turul's infrequent but crazy road trips involve characters being introduced to the ship, often while hurrying to board it.

Uncanny Valley: Apparently, the avatar used by Ana Sari, if people's reactions are anything to go by.

What the Fu Are You Doing??: Some of Bitterskin's efforts to pull off haraba moves.

Could you make an edit at:

Long Runner: Has been running for about seven years now. (it currently says five, and time has of course passed...)

At Comic Books, for Malignant Man, please remove the Would Hurt a Child pothole from "infuse sick orphan children with the Malignants" and instead place it around "all the orphans he's gathered".

At The Punisher, for Samuel Smith, please replace the pothole around Jim Jones to Jim Jones.

Also, at Comic Books, for Back to Brooklyn, please wrap a Torture Technician around Churchill.

Requesting an addition on Quest for Camelot:

  • Try and Follow: The entire "I Stand Alone" musical number has this entire sequence as the blind forest warrior Garrett attempts to ditch Kayley. But at the end of the number, he finally and reluctantly allows her to join him.

Requesting an addition to Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil:

    Music
  • The Raveonettes song "Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)" from In and Out of Control picks out rape as a particularly heinous crime that can indefinitely traumatise the victim.

There isn't a Music folder on that page at the moment so one would need to be created.

Could somebody please add the following example to Gratuitous Rape?

  • In his final scene in Penny Dreadful, Roper graphically announces that he's going to rape and kill Vanessa even if she lets him take Ethan away, seemingly for no in-universe reason at all and out-of-universe only to make him pure evil and make them killing him seem more justified.

(I assume threatened but prevented rape counts)

Not sure if this would link to the right trope, as This Means War!'s laconic, is:

A character has gone too far and royally pissed someone off, and ooh, boy, now are they gonna get it.

Act Of War:

''Act of War'' may refer to:

* The [[VideoGame/ActOfWar video game series]].
* ''VideoGame/ActOfWarDirectAction'', the first game in that series]].
* The ThisMeansWar trope, for when some action triggers a war.

If a direct wick has led you here, please correct the link so that it points to the corresponding article.
