About "istoria bolezni" (by the way, it literally translates as "history of the illness"), just had facepalm-inducing realisation what I never tried wikipedia, where I found link for English terms: medical record or medical history, depending on context. In the series, it's mostly refers to the first one — document, containing history of patient's condition; doctor should read it first to learn what they deal with, and later they write here whatever they accumulated on this patient, including diagnosis.

"P'yanka" means situation when characters drink booze. Lots of booze. Russians have many different words for such situation (and even more to describe highly-drunk person), but I can't find just one which may be used to call it in English. Just to call it something and move on, I used "boozefest", but it isn't even actual word, just the closest to literal translation I came up with, and I'm aware what it should be replaced.

Heh. Reminds me of the Russian novels I read. Every Russian novel I've read in my entire life included drinking alcohol at some point. Most Russian short stories too, though a few Chekhov stories were too short to fit it in.

Anyway, here's the first draft of the corrected edition. (Of course, I might have made a few errors, since I haven't seen the show myself; don't be shy about telling me if I have.)

It's a normal day at for doctor Andrey Bykov in the small Moscow hospital where he works, until several things happens: his boss, Anastasia Kisegach, forces him to accept four young interns (one of whom is her son); Bykov's best friend, venereologist Ivan Kupitman, arrives at work with a strong hangover from three (okay, twelve) days of non-stop drinking, and asks Bykov for a bottle of cognac as a "remedy"; and an old widow asks him to discharge her from the hospital, so she can attend her husband's funeral.

Bykov is not amused, but changes his mind when he sees his new interns clumsily falling right as they enter the hospital, and realizes all the fun he can have with them.

Firstly, he interviews his new interns, and instantly notices what's wrong with them. Boris Levin thinks that he's smarter than his new boss. Semyon Lobanov relies too much on his experience as an ambulance worker, despite lacking any significant academic knowledge. Gleb Romanenko is a spoiled rich kid who thinks he can get away with anything since his mother is Bykov's boss. And Varvara Chernous, who introduced herself as "Doctor Varya", might just as well be wearing a sign reading "Little naive blonde".

To test them, Bykov assigns each intern a first task. Anyone who fails will be punished with working the night shift.

To make it shorter, removed what was already discussed. By the way, "D" grade is considered to be bad, but passable, right? Or "E" grade is the lowest passable one? Russians use numbers instead of letters, from 1 (Epic Fail) to 5 (good job), with 3 being bad, but just passable. I tried to convert them, because for one-time joke (Bykov never used grades ever again), explanation would be longer than the joke itself.

Levin was tasked with woman's examination, but he just can't stop to be distracted by her big breasts. Bykov suggests him to "let steam out", which Levin misinterprets as permission to pleasuring himself. Thanks to Bykov, he quickly gets caught by head nurse Lyuba.

Lobanov must interrogate old widow, prescribe treatment and then report to Bykov, who would check wether Semyon did everything right. Instead, Semyon decided to do everything by himself, and injected widow with something he vaguely remembers being correct medicine. Just by blind luck, this turns out to be correct one. To teach him a lesson, Bykov tells him what he just killed his patient, by provoking horrible allergic reaction. Semyon decided to find patient's relatives and apologise personally, which, due to them misinterpreting him, lead to nowhere, and Semyon returns to the hospital.

Romanenko tries to exploit his connections with Bykov's boss, and Bykov seemingly agrees, giving him an "easy" task... of interrogating comatose patient. After wasting lots of time on doing nothing, Gleb decides to just fake his report, which predictably didn't work.

Chernous, who right from the start proves herself to be spineless and clumsy, was tasked with "curing" Kupitman from his hangover. However, Kupitman decided to exploit her naiveness, and sent her to buy him cognac... and cigarettes... and chips. Then he started telling her blatantly false stories of his own achievements, all fo the extremely sob, in which she just keeps believing.

In the end, each intern fails and receives an "F": Levin for failing to maintain professionalism; Lobanov for blatant disregard for his patient's safety; Romanenko for lying to his boss; and Varya for allowing "patient" to manipulate her into breaking hospital's rules. This means what all of them would stay on night shift.

This episode provide examples of:

  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: When Bykov rates his interns in the end, each of them immediately receives an "F", for their respective failures. Except for Lobanov:
Bykov: "Doctor Lobanov. He decided what he is the most experienced one, and killed a granny. "D". Joking, "F".
  • Blatant Lies: Everything Kupitman says to Varya, from "terminal illness" to stories about his "achievements", is obviously made up, and only thing required to immediately disprove them is to check up medical history, only to find none. She falls for all of this anyway.
  • Boredom Montage: As punishment for his audacity, Gleb receives comatose patient with "easy" task: interrogate him and report to Bykov, and then he can go; the catch is, patient is comatose. Instead of learning his lesson and apologise to Bykov, he spent a lot, a lot of time here, before just trying to fake his report.
  • Brick Joke: Bykov makes sure what widow is not harmed by Lobanov stupidity, and lets her go — but not before telling Semyon what he killed her. Later that night she returns to the hospital, because she is more comfortable here, leading to this moment:
Widow: "Hello, Doctor. I have returned".
    Lobanov: "How... returned?.."
Widow: "I am not feel good, I can't sleep there".
  • Buxom Is Better: Levin's patient has rather... impressive breasts. So impressive, what Levin completely lost ability to think straight.
  • Caught with Your Pants Down: After Levin interpreted "letting steam out" comment rather creatively, Bykov sent Lyuba for him, resulting in Levin being caught in the middle of self-pleasuring.
  • Comically Inept Healing: Out of four interns, only Semyon actually started treating anyone; he didn't kill anyone just by sheer luck. Bykov instructed to never try and prescribe anything without his permission, yet Semyon still injected his elderly patient with some medicine he only vaguely remembered being correct.
  • A Date With Rosie Palms: Levin was overaroused by his big-breasted patient, to the point he can't even think about anything else. Bykov recommended him to "let steam out". When Bykov realised it was misinterpreted as excuse to, well, pleasure himself, he sent Lyuba to "check up" on Levin.
  • Double Entendre: "Let steam out" moment. Bykov means cold shower, but Levin decides to "take initiative".
  • Establishing Character Moment:
    • This is the first, but surely not the last time when Kupitman shows up on work either drunk or with hangover, though he rarely drinks himself to such bad condition.
    • Interns' fall when they first appears in the hospital acts as one for all four, collectively, showing just how prone they are to spectacular failures.
    • Each intern receives their personal one, firstly during interview with Bykov (showing their personalities), then when they start "treating" their patients (showing their level of competence):
      • Boris Levin starts with pretending what he is a good specialist, despite being merely intern with zero actual experience. When he actually received his patient, it turns out what merely showing him some boobs is enough to completely turn off his brain.
      • Semyon Lobanov can't even answer first question properly: when Bykov asked him for the last name, he gave him first name instead and only corrected himself after Bykov looked at him angrily. Then he started mentioning his "experience" as ambulance worker, despite Bykov never asking him. When interrogating his patient, he quickly gets angry and almost shouts on her, despite Bykov specifically warned what she's old and fragile, after which he blindly injected her with some medicine, something Bykov explicitly told him not to do.
      • Gleb Romanenko suggests what, since he and Bykov clearly hates each other, Gleb should work as little as possible, so they would reduce their interaction to the minimum, knowing what since his mother is Bykov's boss, Bykov can't just fire him for that. Bykov seemingly complied, and gave him an "easy" patient whom Gleb just needs to interrogate — which turns out to be Impossible Task, because patient is comatose. Instead of learning his lesson, Gleb wasted time doing nothing, then tried to falsify his report.
      • Varvara Chernous introduced herself as "Doctor Varya". When Bykov told her what she's "not good doctor material", because she's a woman, she [[ExtremeDoormat not even tried to argue, instead sheepishly asking what she can do with it. When Bykov tried to introduce her to patients, she turns out to be also dangerously clumsy, so Bykov sent her to Kupitman instead... who quickly fooled her to violate countless rules for him just by telling her completely made-up sob story. Just checking up medical history (only find none) would reveal what Kupitman isn't even patient.
    • Opening scene, where Bykov interrupts patient going into white light with "It would end when I would allow it! Zap!", and zaps him back to life, shows Bykov's ego; it would only go worse from here. The rest of the episode showcases Bykov's signature sense of humour when he keeps trolling his interns.
  • Freudian Slip: Levin just can't say anything to his patit... patient, without mentioning what she has big... potential issues. He asks Bykov for help, but he only makes situation even more awkward.
  • Gag Boobs: Levin's patient has absurdly big boobs.
  • Hiding Behind the Language Barrier: Levin and Bykov switches to Latin, so Levin can explain why he wastes so much time, without patient understanding them. Bykov doesn't recognise arousal as valid excuse, and decides to embarrass him further.
  • Lethally Stupid: Lobanov blindly injected his (old and fragile) patient with something he only vaguely remembers being correct medicine. Luckily, his blind guess turns out to be correct, but had his patient really been allergic, like Bykov said, she would be dead. Lobanov not even bothered to check her clinic history or ask Bykov, who specifically forbid him to attempt something like this without supervision.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Bykov calls Levin "doctor Lenin" just to mock him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When Bykov lied to Lobanov what he killed, in rather painful way his first patient, he didn't take it well, and tried to find her relatives and apology to them personally.
  • Nerds Are Virgins: For all his academic knowledge, Levin is still a young, inexperienced boy, who may easily be distracted by his hormones if he comes in contact with anything even remotely "hot". And his patient is big-breasted woman whom (including said breasts) he must examine. Levin wastes two hours without achieving anything or even asking any meaningful question, due to being too aroused to even think, and later gets caught during attempt to "let steam out".
  • Pet the Dog: Kupitman later apologised to Varya for exploiting her, thanked her for her help (since she helped him curing his hangover), and bought her chocolate. He also tried to (more politely than Bykov) explain to her what she did wrong.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Lobanov's reaction once he sees "a ghost" of his "dead" patient is screaming on top of his lungs.
  • Slippery Skid: Establishing Character Moment for all four interns, collectively, is them slipping on wet floor and simultaneously fell. Bykov considers that to be the sign what they would bring him tons of fun, and they proved him right before day ends.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Bykov's first reaction when he sees his interns is to compare them to disaster. Gets Inverted when they clumsily slip and fall on wet floor, since he realised what he may have a lot of "fun" with them.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Had Varya actually used her brain instead of her emotions, and bothered to check medical history first instead of blindly running to comfort "dying" man, she would have realised what Kupitman is not really sick much early.

For Rhythm Star YMMV:

  • It's Hard, So It Sucks!: Some charts are somewhat too difficult to be performed in full combo or all perfect, even in 3K mode, which is the easiest mode. Both classical and dance electronic songs are chock-full of this.

''Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi

Can you fix them for me? Also be sure to add a : at the end of Happy Tree Friends as well.

  • Video Game/MGCM uses this as one of its main premises. Some of the demons and zombies the heroines fight are dead heroines and victims from alternate universes who are either slain and corrupted or eaten by demons and their demonized selves from alternate universes. If the player character Tobio lets just one heroine die, time resets and he will be automatically teleported into a near-identical alternate universe where the 12 heroines are alive and intact, leaving the girls from the previous universe doomed and spawning more demons and zombies. Tobio also meets his own Evil Doppelgänger from an alternate universe.
