As seen in the Do we have a project to disambig works? Ask The Tropers, there are many works pages that seem to need disambigs, by virtue of sharing names and having no differentiation.
This thread is for the discussion and listing of what to do about such pages.
See here for a list of needed disambigs.
The List
- Film.The Lost World
- Series.Utopia
- Series.Kidnapped (2006 NBC Cop Show) (20 wicks)
- Series.The Street
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront II
- WesternAnimation.Fantasia
- WesternAnimation.Max Steel
Similar Issues
- Then there is pages like The Host which is for the Korean film but has a bunch of wicks referring to the adaptation of The Host.
- Ransom: YMMV.Ransom only has Film entries, but Characters.Ransom is trying to be a disambig to Characters.Ransom Film and Characters.Ransom TV... Trivia.Ransom needs to be split.
- Film.Deadlands is conflicting with the Tabletop Game. Maybe move to its redirect, Film. The Dead Lands?
- Series. The Untouchables: It's holding multiple versions in there...

Film.Mercy 2009 has wicks, but Series.Mercy also started in 2009?
What would we move them to?
Also, thoughts on Resident Evil from my last post?

- Probably should be fine. There's another Film, according to Wikipedia, at least. And some television, but that's less big.

Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.I am planning to make a page for the show.
And I'd like to list it on Future Works now, but before adding a redlink there it seemed worth getting a view on naming.
If that's the case, then going with the year sounds good to me too.
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.Since there's a 2007 Undertow Video Game and Literature... Any reason not:
VideoGame.Undertow2007 -> VideoGame.UndertowChairEntertainment
YMMV.Undertow2007 -> YMMV.UndertowChairEntertainment
Literature.Undertow2007 -> Literature.UndertowElizabethBear
Fair enough.
Feels good, don't it?There are four works with the name Stray: a novel, a video game, a fanfic, and a comic book mini-series.
I figured I'd disambiguate the novel and video game by year of release. The comic book was later compiled into a trade paperback with the subtitle "Who Killed the Doberman?", so I could disambig the page by adding that subtitle or I could do it by year too.
The fanfic is trickier because it has since been deleted. Any ideas?
~ ♪ I know I’m playing with your heart / And I could treat you better but I’m not that smart ♪ ~- Being a single word, and fanfic usually are suffixed by author or source work. I'd go Author since it's shorter: Stray Dahne

~ ♪ I know I’m playing with your heart / And I could treat you better but I’m not that smart ♪ ~Film. The Wizard Of Oz needs disambiging, since Film. The Wizard Of Oz 1925 exists.
Series. The Chosen TV Series has a bad disambig style
Debuted Christmas 2017, and a quick look at The Other Wiki can't find any direct clash on that year.
Doing an exact title search on IMDB, there's also a short by that name that it says came out in 2017, but the official uploads say 2018. Looking into it more, it was originally uploaded in 2017 [1] [2] [3] but the original upload was taken down/privated for some reason. The publisher, Crypt TV, has a work page, WebVideo.Crypt TV, so the short can be troped there. If someone wanted to split off a page for it, I suppose they could disambiguate it as WebVideo. The Chosen Crypt TV.
tl;dr yeah that should work.
ETA: wait a second, checking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chosen_(TV_series) , it says the pilot came out in 2017, but season 1 came out in 2019.
Well, since the pilot got a public release (unlike a lot of TV pilots), I guess it's fine to use it as the start date.

So, Marvel has just launched a new Spider-Man Unlimited webcomic...
We already have VideoGame.Spider Man Unlimited (2014) and WesternAnimation.Spider Man Unlimited (1999).
There's also a 1993 comic series, a 1999 comic series and a 2004 comic series using the title, none of which have pages yet.
Years would work for everything except the 1999 animated series and comic. I'm not sure how best to disambiguate those two, especially as the comic was a tie-in based on game continuity?
Three works titled "Supernova": Fanfic.Supernova, Film.Supernova, and VisualNovel.Super Nova. The YMMV page is split between the VN and the film, while the Trivia page is just for the film. Wrestling.Super Nova is already a redirect. How should the new pages be titled?
TRS Wick CleaningFanfic.Supernova Pokemon, Film.Supernova 2000, VisualNovel.Super Nova 2022?
The visual novel is titled Super-Nova with a hyphen, so the custom title will need to account for that.

I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.We have WesternAnimation.I Am Groot (2022), but a new webcomic has launched today and there's also a 2017 print comic.
I'm just about to launch pages for the other two.
So...
?
If that seems reasonable, I'll put a move request in for the animation page.

That looks good.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Unhinged now has the Literature redirect to Splintered Series, and two films, Unhinged (1982) and Unhinged (2020).
Not sure if there's good targets to justify a Main disambig over just making a Film one, but there should be something to tell people not to make pages in that namespace. Target Madness Tropes, perhaps?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576- The Film.Westworld and the Series.Westworld, share many subpages, Trivia, YMMV, etc.
(Posted about these works and others in another, "Splitting merged works", thread and received advice to post here while I figure out how to do it — split in disambigs and move entries around.)
AFK with issues, will return
Page Topper info: Previous question: Film.AgainstAllOdds to what? Literature.AgainstAllOdds to what?
Well, if no one has a counterargument, I'll go with Year for both then, 1984 and 2008 respectively. Gotta request the Literature move anyway, since it's 30+ edits, if no one does it first.
Edit: VideoGame.ResidentEvil points to VideoGame.ResidentEvil1 but Franchise.ResidentEvil exists too.
