As seen in the Do we have a project to disambig works? Ask The Tropers, there are many works pages that seem to need disambigs, by virtue of sharing names and having no differentiation.
This thread is for the discussion and listing of what to do about such pages.
See here for a list of needed disambigs.
The List
- Film.The Lost World
- Series.Utopia
- Series.Kidnapped (2006 NBC Cop Show) (20 wicks)
- Series.The Street
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront II
- WesternAnimation.Fantasia
- WesternAnimation.Max Steel
Similar Issues
- Then there is pages like The Host which is for the Korean film but has a bunch of wicks referring to the adaptation of The Host.
- Ransom: YMMV.Ransom only has Film entries, but Characters.Ransom is trying to be a disambig to Characters.Ransom Film and Characters.Ransom TV... Trivia.Ransom needs to be split.
- Film.Deadlands is conflicting with the Tabletop Game. Maybe move to its redirect, Film. The Dead Lands?
- Series. The Untouchables: It's holding multiple versions in there...

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)When I was linking the movies in Sleep Paralysis Creature, I noticed there are at least two movies names "Marianne": a 1929 American musical, which has a page, and a 2011 Swedish horror movie. Since the latter doesn't have a page, should we disambiguate them between years? Or is renaming the one with a page to Marianne (1929) enough?
oh hey how are you doing?Found three different, unrelated works title Loser: Fanfic.Loser, Film.Loser and Literature.Loser.
Fanfic.Loser Firefly, Film.Loser 2000, Literature.Loser 2002?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.A thread on Ask The Tropers brought to my airmen that we have 3 work/creator pages with the name Supernova, with a fourth on the way if the ATT thread ends up recreating one that was cut.
VideoGame.Supernova is the work from the ATT thread. Others are:
Fanfic.Supernova
Film.Supernova
Wrestling.Super Nova
There's also Tropers.Supernova and Trivia.Supernova, which seems to only be about the Film.
Even though there's only one subpage, with 3/4 unrelated works and a troper page besides this strikes me as a pretty straightforward case to disambig. My question is, while the Film and potential Video Game pages can have their release year used, and I believe for the Fanfic we can use the author name(?), how do we separate the wrestling page? Also would we do anything with the troper page?

About the Marianne example, should we rename it to emphasize the year?
oh hey how are you doing?Film.Marianne 1929 is good. A disambig can be made if the 2011 film page exists in the future.

Alright, thank you very much.
About Supernova, I can see making it a disambiguation. Is it better to name the fanfic after the year or the creator?

oh hey how are you doing?I just remembered that there's a 1938 film called Marie Antoinette which would overlap with Marie Antoinette (the 2006 one) if it has its own TV Tropes page. The 2006 film is already clashing with the Useful Notes page of its eponymous Queen. Should a disambig be made between the three?

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."That seems a good idea, we could put the theatre section on it too.
oh hey how are you doing?Hmm, for the musical, should we disambig it as Marie Antoinette (Musical) like what happened to Six: The Musical when it was clashing with a show that shared the same name? I'm not sure about using years to differentiate it from the other works as it originally started in 2006 (the same year as the Kirsten Dunst one).
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I think the common practice with fanfic is to disambig by author (or work).
And given it's a pseudo-crossover but is within the Pokémon franchise at large, Fanfic.Supernova Pokemon could work.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Done, Film.Marianne now disambiguates between Marianne (1929) and Marianne 2011. I also included the Marianne 2019 Netflix series, but since it isn't a movie, I'm thinking about making Series.Marianne a redirect to the disambiguation page, is that ok? Or should I make a main page?
Edited by good-morning on Jan 22nd 2022 at 4:34:20 PM
oh hey how are you doing?Make it in Main/.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Which would mean asking the Locked Pages thread to move Film to Main.
Like I did with Art.Dawn here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=gsjp7dldjh2dwdelcha2hu17&page=1123#comment-28071
Actually, since I'm up, I'll do it.

(I'm wondering whether we should have added a Disambiguation/ namespace, but by now it's too little, too late.)
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Thank you all for the help. I researched and there are two more other movies, plus a 1876 novel and a magazine. The thing is that there is also a Marianne movie in 1929, this time a silent movie that was remade as the musical with a mostly different cast, save for the star, as the description says. Should we disambiguate between the two too, since one is the remake of the other? Perhaps soft-splitting the page might be enough, or leaving as it is. The wikipedia page is here.

oh hey how are you doing?^^ - Well we know where all the pages are, it's not too hard? They shouldn't be linked from off-index anyway.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576With Guilhermo del Toro's Pinocchio coming to Netflix at the end of the year, we might have to disambiguate WesternAnimation.Pinocchio. The problem is that, if we divide it in Pinocchio (1940) and Pinocchio 2022, the latter will share pages with the live-action remake Disney is set to release this year. Should we divide them by creator, like with The Hunchback of Notre Dame?
Edited by good-morning on Jan 25th 2022 at 9:46:51 AM
oh hey how are you doing?Creator is the best option.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Agreed. Would Netflix be the creator of the 2022 one? An user suggested using Guilhermo Del Toro in the title, but I'm not sure.
oh hey how are you doing?Found two unrelated works titled Worlds Collide: ComicBook.Worlds Collide and Fanfic.Worlds Collide.
I see. Even H8FearADRLuv agreed with my assessment on it via PM.
I've gone ahead and redirected the 2021 Belle film to the proper page.
