This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Used your quotes page entry to fix the quote format, but I'd be fine with it as a page topper.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailGood Stepmother’s image and quote are from the same source. The image looks pretty good to me (and the trope seems like it’d be hard to find a decent replacement for) so unfortunately the quote is on the chopping block. I like this from the quotes page:
That don't mean that I don't really love ya
And even though I married your father
That's not the only reason I'm here for ya

The quote on Playing Sick doesn't seem to be the most descriptive on its own. Keep, or remove?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWhat about adding more lines? It's a whole long poem about how she claims she has basically every illness in the world.
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash, and purple bumps."
That's better. Should I swap it in?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallIt's in. Thanks Yindee and Noa.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWhich I think is better, but I don't think quite emphasizes the quiet theatricality expected of the trope, rather just how it can be really intimidating. Thoughts or suggestions?
It's been a while since I've watched Die Hard, but Alan Rickman was a Cold Ham for a lot of that film. Are there any quotes from there that would be suitable?
Or possibly this, which was a discussion about that on QI.
Stephen Fry: Yes! As in the Die Hard films!
John Sessions: As in the Die Hard film, which always has some my favourite dialogue of our great friend Alan Rickman; what he says after he shot the man's head off. [monotone] "Mr. Takagi, I will count to three. There will. Not. Be. A four." And then he shoots the guy's head off! And then he goes downstairs later, and he goes [monotone] "Mr. Takagi won't be joining us for the rest of his life."

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. The current quote on Me's a Crowd has little to do with the actual trope and is probably contributing to the widespread misuse as "Self-Duplication but with a funnier name".
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Last night I added this quote to Digital Destruction, but after sleeping on it, I think I need help deciding whether or not it looks too complain-y and redundant (the latter because the image already illustrates this):
There aren't a lot of good options on the quotes page for Me's a Crowd. What about this (not from the quotes page)?
Real Prue: Okay, okay, we can swing this.
Piper: No, no, no, wait. You're not seriously thinking of leaving the house?
Phoebe: You can't hide three 'you's at the office.
Blue Prue: Two of us may not be able to separate Gabriel from his sword but we can certainly fight him off.
Pink Prue: Which means two of us can go save Prue's job and whoever's left behind can go to the Quake with Piper.
It could possibly be trimmed to start from Phoebe's line.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.for the trimmed suggestion.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailAny concerns if I pull this one from ComicBook. One More Day?
The devil offering Spider-Man a choice between saving his marriage and his aunt is one of the final twists, almost the end of the story, and the page isn't Spoilers Off, even if the ending's pretty infamous now.
The intro and other points mention it without tagging too, but I think that needs cleanup as well.
Yeah, that seems sensible to me.
Quick question, how do we format quotes from fanfics and other types of literature? I'm talking about special cases like the one I was going to add to the fanworks folder on the quotes page for Papa Wolf:
EDIT: I'm an idiot who should've elaborated earlier. By "how do we format this" I meant to ask how we're supposed to handle both speech from the characters and the text describing the situation. I saw a quote for Crazy Jealous Guy that separated it based on which character was speaking.
Warren got to the telescope first. "So that's Dorkboy. I think he's really gotta go."
Hank took the telescope back from Warren. "Let’s see, letterman, three sports, band pin, I think — I can't really be sure about that one. Fairly tall, dark hair, and well built. I agree with Warren's assessment. Dorkboy's gotta go, my fine fellows."

Sandbox help wanted.Wants Versus Needs is on the right track, but I'd like to suggest a part of the song that I think describes the trope better than simply the Title Drop.
- And you might believe you know your truth
But truth can oft' be lies
And you might just be surprised by what you need
For Doom, I think I like the full quote instead of the snippet we have:
I'm good with @1164 for Good Stepmother.
I don't really understand the quote on Doppelgänger Replacement Love Interest.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The second line is the only one that I think suggests the trope, but I think it's possible to do better. Here are some from downpage:
I think the Doctor Who quote does the best of including the doppelganger aspect to the quote. The other quotes are not as clear on this point. Even in the Doctor Who quote, it's not fully laid out, but you can pick it up more easily, given that the two characters share the same last name.
The Doctor Who one works.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I deleted the page quote for Character Perception Evolution per Kingdom Hearts forum.
This was misuse then getting more/less popular in later works, while CPE is about their depictions works prior to the change being re-evaluated.
Besides that retroactively re-evaluation criteria, I believe a good quote should cover both versions, the increase/decrease in popularity.
On that, there's the page quote Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor.
This only covers the "Sick Sense of Humor" kind, while EHBSOH also has a "No Sense of Humor" category. Thoughts if this would be better at covering them both? (Can't recall if I asked about this before, let me know if I did.)
Also, Quotes.Evil Has A Bad Sense Of Humor is split between "No" and "Sick" Sense folders. Do we want that (as I don't believe any other tropes with multiple categories split them such)?
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Would this be a good main page quote for Ominous Clouds, since it doesn't have one yet?
(I did already make a seperate quote page for the trope and already added the quote above there. If this gets promoted to main page quote, then feel free delete the quotes page)
