The Ravagers was a series in the New 52, a Spin-Off of the Teen Titans (New 52) and Legion Lost crossover.
In the wake of an event called The Culling, teen heroes Fairchild, Beast Boy, Terra, Ridge, Thunder and Lighting banded together to escape the clutches of N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
This series contains examples of:
- Abled in the Adaptation: Dr. Niles Caulder is usually a wheelchair-user, but this version is not.
- Absurdly Sharp Blade: Warblade's claws and Rose Wilson's swords are these.
- Arch-Enemy: Warblade is this to Ridge, since they served on Harvest's Ravagers together. Harvest is this for the Ravagers as a whole.
- Barrier Maiden: Beast Boy is a downplayed gender-inverted example. His New 52 revamped self is tethered directly to "the Red", one of the Background Magic Fields introduced to the DC Comics mythology by Animal Man and Swamp Thing. This makes him a potential doorway into "the red place" coveted by both Nowhere and Brother Blood.
- Beach Episode: Briefly, the Ravagers go to a beach side town to try and be "normal." Being heroes, they're called into action soon after.
- Body Horror: After removing the trackers from their bodies, the heroic Ravagers are left with crater-like scars on their bodies.
- Chest Blaster: Thunder fires sound blasts from his chest.
- Child Soldiers: The Ravagers were originally created to serve in Harvest's private army of teen enforcers.
- Clone Angst: Caitlin, after she realizes that she's been cloned multiple times and that she's not even the original herself.
- Cult: Brother Blood runs one of these.
- Dishing Out Dirt: Terra does this, with impressive results.
- Expy: Basically the Nu-DCU's Alternate Company Equivalent of Gen¹³, featuring some of the same characters blended with Teen Titans mainstays.
- Faux Affably Evil: This series' version of Brother Blood is less The Fundamentalist and more of a cynic who's just using his cult to obtain power. Consequently, when the Ravagers show up, rather than going to the usual villainous monologues, he's a bit friendlier towards them. Granted, he is also still trying to kill them.
- Friendly Address Privileges: Dr. Niles Caulder has these with Fairchild (though she tries to deny it), calling her "Cat."
- Growing Muscles Sequence: Fairchild, whenever she decides to use her powers.
- Hotter and Sexier: Dr. Niles Caulder, of the once and future Doom Patrol, who appears here in his mid-twenties or so to offer haven to the Ravagers. He has an implied history with Caitlin.
- Hero Killer: Deathstroke. He takes out the entire team no problem, even the super strong Fairchild.
- Heroic BSoD: Fairchild goes through this when Rose Wilson reveals that she's not the original version of herself, but a clone.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Lightning, at least it seems like it. And, even more impressive, a sheriff from a small town pulls one of these to save his kids.
- I Just Want to Be Normal: What Caitlin Fairchild wants for the rest of the Ravagers.
- It's Personal: Rose has taken it very badly that Caitlin Fairchild ditched her along with N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
- Morality Chain: Fairchild is this for quite a few people including the Ravagers (save, perhaps, Terra), Superboy, and even Rose Wilson.
- Mind over Matter: Superboy's primary power. He uses it for super strength, speed, invulnerability, heat vision, levitating objects, flying...the list goes on.
- Mythology Gag: In issue seven, Rose Wilson suggests that instead of killing Niles Caulder, she'll leave him wheelchair-bound, referencing his disability in the previous DCU continuity.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: Warblade's main power. Gets in the character's way when they're trying to stop him, but doesn't stop Deathstroke from cutting off his head.
- Like Father, Like Son: Or like daughter, really. Deathstroke and Rose Wilson are both sword wielding mercenary types.
- Official Couple: Beast Boy and Terra, for about an issue or so before the Gainax Ending brought the title to a close.
- Original Generation: Ridge is the only member of the main cast who isn't adapted or derived from some pre-existing comic. Thunder and Lightning are a brother and sister alternative to the superpowered brothers that befriended the Teen Titans, while Terra is more or less physically the same as she was in the old days. Beast Boy is both one of the classic Titans and has a shared origin in the Doom Patrol with Dr. Niles Caulder. Caitlin Faichild originally belonged to the Wildstorm universe before the New 52 reset her character in Prime Earth.
- Power High: Terra goes on one of these, after she decides to stop holding back. She tries to convince the others to do the same.
- Power Nullifier: Rose Wilson's primary power is this. This allows her to cut beings such as Superboy with her swords.
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The heroic Ravagers are this, since they were all (save Fairchild) trained to be child soldiers.
- Secret Project Refugee Family: They decided they didn't like being forced to fight on pain of death for the "privilege" of joining a terrorist group, so they made out on their own.
- Sixth Ranger: Superboy was this for two issues.
- Shock and Awe: Lightning, duh.
- Superpower Meltdown: Thunder has this, until he's fixed by Niles Caulder and Fairchild.
- Super-Strength: Ridge, Fairchild, Superboy, some of Beast Boy's animal forms...just to name a few.
- Team Mom: Dr. Fairchild is this.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Beast Boy does this, natch. Fairchild also does this, though to a less extreme degree.
- We Used to Be Friends: Rose says this to Fairchild a few times.
- Wonder Twin Powers: Lightning and Thunder can fly when they are in physical contact.
- Younger Than They Look: Ridge is the youngest member of the team, but was artificially aged up, in addition to being given a monstrous appearance. His true form is actually a little boy.
