Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Any chance we could get more info on the YMMV page and character page for Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina? I definitely understand why the page is locked (because of the Sun/Moon demo leaks), but I feel like that the pages should be updated on YMMV tropes regarding the starters.

Film P To Z: In the ''Scanners II' entry, please make the last sentence "He's content to see his fellow psychics reduced to a slow death through their terminal dependence on Ephemerol and doesn't even seem bothered that Forrester would throw him aside when he outlives his usefulness, as he just enjoys the power rush of mutilating and murdering people with his mind more."

I think the following should be added to the Film section of Double Standard Rape: Female on Male:

In Step Brothers, Dale's stepsister-in-law Alice falls madly in love with him after he gives her abusive asshole husband what for. How does she show her appreciation? By cornering him in the men's room, undoing his pants without even waiting for an answer, and having her way with him via rapid but satisfying sex with him up against the wall. How does he respond after it's said and done? He says he likes her and thinks she's incredible. In the Unrated Edition, they have another quickie during Christmas dinner - but it seems more mutually consensual.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, can you change The Bus Came Back example from

  • Red, Blue and Cynthia have returned since their last appearance in Video Game/PokémonBlack2AndWhite2. They can be encountered in the Battle Tree.

to

  • Red, Blue, Cynthia, and Wally have returned since their last appearances in Video Game/PokémonBlack2AndWhite2 and Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. They can be encountered in the Battle Tree.

Wally is prominently shown in the reveal trailer along with Cynthia, Red and Blue.

There are going to be more characters revealed, but most likely not until the game is released and the page is unlocked.

Normally ACW is the one who request edits to the Complete Monster articles, but he told me to go ahead and make the request. A consensus was reached that Vendes Baenre doesn't match up to the heinous standard set by the other candidates in the Legend of Drizzt novels. I'm requesting she be removed from Dungeons & Dragons. Her entry on the YMMV pages can be removed by me once the edit to the main page has been approved.

Oh I see, well, the page is Pokémon: Generation VII Families

First Folder should be changed from

1. [[folder:Rowlet and Dartrix (Mokuroh and Fukuthrow)]]

to

[[folder:Rowlet, Dartrix and Decidueye (Mokuroh, Fukuthrow and Junaipa)]]

2.

Alola's Grass-type Starter, Rowlet is a Grass/Flying-type owl, and is the first starter to be dual typed in the first stage since Bulbasaur. It turns its head 180 degrees to look at its trainer for instructions, and can pelt enemies with the razor-sharp leaves that grow in its feathers. Rowlet evolves into Dartrix, who appears to be snobbish in personality, but is actually a bit of a birdbrain.

should be changed to this:

Rowlet evolves into Dartrix, who appears to be snobbish in personality, but is actually a bit of a birdbrain. When Dartrix reaches its final evolution, it become Decidueye. It switches its Flying Type for a Ghost Type and learns the move Spirit Shackle, which pins the opponent from switching fleeing from battle.

3. These should be added as well:

  • Archer Archetype: Decidueye is modeled after an archer. It uses its own wing as a bow, the vine that grows from its "leaf hood" as a bow string and its own feathers as arrows.
  • Bizarre and Improbable Ballistics: The family is able to curve its feather arrows after they've been fired.
  • Ominous Owl: While Decidueye isn't particularly scary looking, they are effective hunters and are part Ghost Type.
  • Shadow Pin: Decidueye's signature move deals damage while preventing the target from fleeing.
  • Soul Power: Decidueye becomes a Ghost type upon evolving.

4. This should be changed as well from:

  • Punny Name: Rowlet's an owlet. The "Row" may come from round or "rowan", a type of mountain ash. Dartrix seems to come from "dart", referencing the line's Feather Flechettes, and "strix", the Latin word for owl.

For Sun and Moon, here is my proposed Base-Breaking Character entry for the final starter evolutions.

  • The debates on the starters culminated when their final evolutions were revealed. Decidueye is undoubtedly the most popular for its design, but its unexpected secondary typing change from Flying to Ghost is somewhat controversial. Primarina has also received the same praises and complaints of its pre-evolutions. The big one, however, is Incineroar, while it is Fire/Dark and not Fire/Fighting like many feared, many dislike its bipedal, humanoid design for being too similar to previous final forms of Fire starters, and would have preferred it to stay a quadrupedal tiger. However, others love that same design and feel it gives a lot more personality than a more animalistic one.

The entry for Torracat can be removed, since it didn't end up evolving into a Fire/Fighting Pokémon.

Could somebody add this to the first folder in Pokémon: Generation VII Families? It's the one that mentions Rowlet, Dartrix and Decidueye.

  • Broken Streak: Not only is the Rowlet line the first line of starter Pokémon since fellow Grass-type starter Bulbasaur from the first generation to start off dual-typed, but it's also the first one where their secondary type changes. In this case, Dartrix loses its Flying-type upon evolving into Decidueye and gains the Ghost-type in exchange.

For Pokémon Sun and Moon:

YMMV:

Character Page (for Incineroar):

  • Large Ham: Incineroar's idle animation involves it puffing out its chest and roaring towards the sky with its arms spread out.

And The Fandom Rejoiced:

  • From the October 27th trailer:
    • Rowlet's final evolution is Decidueye, an awesome archer owl who breaks out of the Grass-Flying type of its previous evolutions and becomes a Grass-Ghost type, something that no one ever expected to happen.
    • Litten's final evolution is Incineroar, a badass tiger based on a heel wrestler. While its bipedal design has shunned many fans away, many have taken to its Fire-Dark type and its cool-yet-hilarious personality.
    • Popplio's final evolution is Primarina, a beautiful Water-Fairy type whose signature move can both damage and heal the burns of its targets.
    • The four Island Guardians have amazing designs and are all powerful-but-[[ Ridiculously Cute Critter adorable]] Pokémon who share the amazing Z-move "Guardian of Alola".
    • The Battle Tree allows the player to both battle and team up with fan-favorite characters including Cynthia, Wally, and least-expected of all, Red and Blue!

And on an extra note: Should the Pokemon Anime's page be unlocked? Most people have moved on from Ash's defeat and are now actually praising XY & Z due to its darker tone. Though to be honest, that hate has now been redirected towards the new Sun and Moon season, due to (apparently) completely changing the show's design and tone to be Lighter and Softer, which might begin another Edit War.

I agree, I think the Pokemon Anime YMMV page should be unlocked at this point. In most of the places I've seen, people have pretty much calmed down about the whole thing and typically bring up Ash's loss in jest. It's pretty far from being a trigger for Internet Backdraft by now.

If you ask me, the controversy over the Sun/Moon anime doesn't seem big enough to warrant excessive complaints on the page. Not enough to keep it locked, anyway.

Can someone add the Feather Fingers trope to the Rowlet line's section in the Pokémon: Generation VII Families page? Because Decidueye has them. Here's the explanation:

  • Feather Fingers: The tips of Decidueye's wings have feathers that act as fingers, allowing it to hold one of its drawstrings and shoot its feather arrows.

On Pokémon: Generation VII Families, in the Rowlet, Dartrix and Decidueye folder, please remove the Archer Archetype entry, for reasons of the trope not being "Uses a bow" and the example failing to establish personality traits required by the trope.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

How does Decidueye fail to meet the personality trait of the Archer Archetype? It's an owl that has a "cool and analyitical cold sniper" vibe to it. Granted, it's a subversion where it can get flustered, but a number of Pokémon also display subversions of usual traits.
