Tropers: DRCEQ
Thanks to resident troper Pika Hikari KT, I have become addicted to this great website, but I still have a lot to learn before I truly get a hang of how everything works. That hasn't stopped me from doing the research and editing quite a few tropes though. Trial and error.. thank you Preview button. So many tropes I still don't even know exist. How will I ever properly describe who I am? Well, lets start with the basics.

About me:

  • User Name: DRCEQ (Pronounced Dee Are See E Queue)
  • Age: 25
  • Location: Wisconsin (I am NOT a Cheesehead!)
  • Alternate Persona: Mr. Batou (Seriously, those eyes make the whole cosplay, and it works. Something so minor ends up being the first and best thing about it. I've taken this persona and ran with it!)

Personal Tropes:

Favorite Animes:
  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: I'm a walking encyclopedia for all things Ghost in the Shell.
    • I've created Mr. Batou as my cosplay persona. A character that very few can pull off. It's all about the eyes, and I made mine from scratch from actual metal.
    • It has Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in it. What more needs to be said?
    • I *WILL* get violent if you badmouth Motoko in any way.
  • Cowboy Bebop: I'm a walking encyclopedia for all things Cowboy Bebop as well.
    • I've seen the entire series at least 20 times all the way through, and each time an episode is replayed on [adult swim], it feels like I'm seeing the episode for the first time all over again. IT NEVER GETS BORING!
    • Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn (sense a pattern forming here?)
  • .hack: My knowledge of the .Hack//Conglomerate has grown a little rusty ever since the G.U. series was released. Things went a little bit downhill as they pretty much stopped placing any importance of the events of the first 4 PS2 games, but it still remains one of my favorite series. At least I'll always have Ouka and Tabby to cheer me up. :)
  • Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit: I love this series. Balsa is a beautifully designed character with a strong balance of emotions between her Tom Boy upbringing and combat prowess and her motherly protective side.
  • IGPX Immortal Grand Prix: Toonami's own creation. A good balance between action, drama, and comedy. The characters all have their quirks and personalities. The CGI is amazing, and the soundtrack was provided by freaking Ninja Tunes!
    • Actually, anything from Production I.G. in general will grab my attention. This is the third series on this list that was created by them. They're just the best. Period.
  • Wolf's Rain: The Tear Jerker ending and superb dubbing are but two of the reasons why I like it.
  • Karin: "Being a vampire is SO EMBARRASING!!!" When I first saw the Karin anime, I got hooked on the comedy and premise right from the get go. Chibi Vampire is the first and so far the only long-running manga series that I wanted to buy and add to my collection. (Partially because online translations weren't available at the time. I wanted to buy the manga though, so I feel good about it.)
  • Shin Chan: TO BE A MAN YOU MUST HAVE HONOR! HONOR AND A PEEEEEEEEENIS!!!!
  • Sgt. Frog: Thank you Funimation. Your dub is nothing short of brilliant.
  • Trigun: Repeat after me. THIS WORLD IS MADE OF LOVE! AND! PEACE!
  • Slayers: Oldschool comedy goodness. I <3 Lina Inverse!
    • Thank you Crispin Freeman for voicing Zelgadis. The only sane character in the entire show, and that's saying something.
  • Pani Poni Dash!: I haven't laughed so hard in quite a long time when I saw this series. I managed to get Cristine Autin's and Luci Christian's autographs on two of my DVDs.
  • Lucky Star: What's not to like about Konata-chan, a girl who pretty much describes your average Otaku, right down to having no objections to playing Hentai games?
  • Love Hina: I'm a sucker for Romantic Comedy Harem series, and Love Hina was the one that started it all. I had to forcibly prevent myself from laughing out loud while reading the manga in my free time at school.
  • Ah! My Goddess: Another Romantic Comedy. Who wouldn't want Belldandy as their girlfriend?
  • Ai Yori Aoshi: The 3rd on my list of Rom Coms. It has it's charms. Many LOL-worthy moments, and it actually quite endearing and heart-warmingly touching at many points. Strong emphasis on the feelings of love.
  • DearS: Admittedly, I picked this one up just to satisfy my curiosity about the insane amounts of fanservice, but DAMN, the series is funny because of it.
  • Cromartie High School: It has Freddy Mercury in it. 'Nuff said.
