Rules

Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:

When writing a profile, take note of the following:
- Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
- No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
  - You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
- When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
- You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
  - For new and reworked deities, 3 means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
  - For new and reworked deities, 4 is a 3 day waiting period.
  - 5 is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
  - Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
- For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
  - For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 is a 3 day waiting period.
  - 4 is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
- Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
- The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
- Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
- Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
- Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
- Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
  - On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
- Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
- Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
- To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
- Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

Instructions and Tips

Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

Preparing to write:
- First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
- If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
- Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
  - In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
- If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
- All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
- The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
- A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
- If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
- For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
- For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
- Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
Pantheon Content:
- Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
  - As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
- Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
- For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
For Profile Standards:
- Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
- Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
  - A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
  - Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
  - On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
- Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
  - A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
  - Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
- Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
  - A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
  - Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

Divine Ranking System

Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

Templates

Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
For Pokémon deities only:
- Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
- Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
- Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
- Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
- Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
- Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
- Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
- Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
- Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
- Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
- Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
- Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
- Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
- The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
- The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
And some more trivia/facts.
And a couple of more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.

To propose a profile idea, you need to explain why the chosen character(s) fit the trope in the paragraph, then you make the profile after you get it approved.

You can leave a few profile ideas in your sandbox for others to look at if you cannot propose them right now.

The Helldivers profile gets a as the suggestion was not even made to warrant creating the profile in the first place. One idea I had planned for potential ideas would be either:

Emergent Gameplay, based around the fact that the events from the first game to the second game counts the former's canonical events, combined with the current situation of the various war fronts since its an online-only game, means various events can occur, such as the liberation of Malevolent Creek which was a short-lived victory until the devs made another war front for the Automatons on another sector on the planet.
Genre Shift as the gameplay shift from the first game (a twin-stick shooter) to the second game (a full-blown thirdperson shooter) was the biggest selling point of the game's release.

That being said, I recommend waiting until the end of the year to even consider ascending the Helldivers because as mentioned on the Emergent Gameplay tidbit, the game is online-only and events can change the course of the game, including unveiling new enemy factions and lore over the course of the year. A third faction could come out in the middle of the year so be on the lookout.

oops, I did skip a step. My bad. Worth pointing out is that this proposal was made primarily in regards to Helldivers which released in 2015, not Helldivers II, as to avoid Hype Prevention. I know Sequel Displacement has all but eradicated the first game at this point, but still.

In regards to a suggestion if one can be made at this point, I feel like the Helldiver Corps would work perfectly for either the Cannon Fodder or Propaganda Hero tropes because their entire purpose in the game series is to be a distilled satirical deconstruction of Elite Mooks whose only objective is to survive for literal minutes before being killed and replaced by another. I feel like a lot of other examples of Cannon Fodder are either smaller groups or entire regular armies (which would work better under Redshirt Army). If there is a Cannon Fodder deity already that I don't know about, then Propaganda Hero would work equally well with the games' satire since the entire Helldiver Corps is presented as this legion of highly-trained super-soldiers when in reality they're just overequipped with insane firepower and thrown directly into battle.

Has anyone noticed that Tommy Oliver has his own profile despite also being part of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' and Dino Thunder's profiles? Or that Aka me has her own profile despite also being part of Night Raid's profile?

If you ask me, I'd think a better trope to use for them is one that reflects their heavy basis on Starship Troopers, namely through being a self-serving, authoritarian organization that deludes itself as solely virtuous. As such, Rooting for the Empire, Better Living Through Evil, or The Complainer Is Always Wrong work best.

We noticed. It’s not the first time it’s been mentioned or discussed. I’d say leave it as is. They were separated for a reason. And it was already agreed to leave them as is. Although a tuneup to their profiles wouldn’t hurt.

On the subject of Helldivers and/or Helldivers II, I agree with Hamana on waiting before doing anything. Especially since it looks like there are big plans, and it’ll go on for a while. Although personally I’d go with People's Republic of Tyranny for the Federation of Super Earth.

Alright folks here’s an idea for a trope.

Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd for Make My Monster Grow.

The reason: As the first major antagonists in the franchise, Rita and Zedd would use their magical powers to make their Monsters of the Week grow in size, with the former being the Trope Namer. Yes, I’m aware they become good in Power Rangers In Space but in later series, versions of the villains return to cause havoc on the rangers. Namely in Dino Fury and Once and Always.

In the Mesoamerican-inspired kingdom of Teca, the young Princess Maya yearns to be an Eagle Warrior like her mother. However, when vengeful gods threaten all of humanity, Maya journeys to find the three prophesied warriors who can save the kingdom. She would learn that her biological mother was the death goddess Lady Micte, the result of a fling with her mortal father King Teca. Micte's husband, the ruthless and power-hungry Lord Mictlan, sought to sacrifice her to gain great power and sent many deities after her. An emissary, Zatz, was initially tasked to bring Maya but fell for her and vowed to join her quest to destroy Lord Mitclan. Like her he was a demigod, his father being the bat god Camazotz. Through the power of weapons forged of god blood, even a demigod could slay a deity. Along with their friends Maya and Zatz would successfully defeat Mictlan, uniting the four kingdoms against the evil gods. However the battle would come at a high cost with practically every deity involved, along with Maya and Zayz, dying to stop the evil war god once and for all. After their deaths, Maya and Zatz would go on to become incarnations/deities of the sun and the moon respectively.

- The ascension of Maya and Zatz under the trope Semi-Divine was a surprise, albeit a somewhat pleasant one, for two reasons. First, when it comes to candidates for the trope, people were mainly thinking Classical Mythology and not Meso-American deities as the parents. After all, the Greek gods are notorious for the demigods they leave behind. Second, it was thought their ascension would be awkward because they're apparently past lives of the already present Manalo Sanchez and Maria Posada. However, given Aang and Korra co-exist in the Trope Pantheon, and the House of Time and Temporality is a thing it wasn't unexpected. Their incarnating into the Trope Pantheon took them out of the power from being a sun and moon god, however they were already formidable warriors. When entering the pantheon they were formally met by La Muerte and Xibalba, who were very happy to see them. Why? Asides from respecting their relationship, Lady Micte was La Muerte's sister, making her Maya's aunt. Xibalba was Maya's uncle by marriage...and technically speaking, her step-uncle. Yeah...there are reasons why they are in the "pitied by" section when it comes to interactions.
- The reason why Xibalba held trepidations towards the ascension of the demigods is because of the sins of the brother, Lord Mictlan. His brother thirsted for power, becoming a deranged tyrant of mostly Mayan gods and is directly responsible for the death of most of the people Maya and Zatz cared about. His evil was comparable to that of Ah Puch...not the trio of enigmatic gods who act as guides, who merely held the name. And yes, the real Ah Puch considered that an insult, rooted by Lord Mictlan and laughed at Xibalba and La Muerte's regrets...he's kind of an asshole and the demigod couple weren't enthusiastic at learning he beat them to the bunch at being pantheon-worthy. With the relative obscurity of Mayan Mythology, none of the other gods who would go against Mictlan had ascended, not even Zatz beloved father Camzotz^note. There was one Mayan god present that wasn't evil, though...the rain god Chaac. He was fortunate to not be anywhere near Mictlan's warpath and felt guilty he wasn't involved. The Prince of Bats told him he shouldn't beat himself up over it, as he's thankful to see a Mayan god spared from Mictlan's actions.
- The two have also encountered Aztec gods; a far prettier Cipactli. As one of the only Aztec gods to avoid Human Sacrifice, Quetzacoatl approached them in one of his (her) fairer forms, noting that a goddess of good called Cosmos had bribed the House of Death and Postmortem to not care about two incarnations of the same soul freely existing in the Trope Pantheon. His Arch-Enemy Tezcatlipoca watched the two, not intervening as cruel as he may be he holds a great deal of respect and compassion for them for their heroism against corrupt Mesoamerican gods. Cosmos confessed that after seeing their accomplishments, she wanted to recruit for help fighting other evil gods and similar entities. Having always enjoyed a good scrap but mature enough to not be a blowhard about it, Maya simply asked her "who do you have in mind?"
  - The first pick on who Cosmos wanted help against was Bandos. Not Darkseid, not YHVH, but Bandos. While they hate the two tyrant gods who dominate and/or destroy other deities in their quest to be extreme and reminiscent of their Arch-Enemy, they are way above their weight class and Cosmos wouldn't deserve her position if she sent new recruits to the meat grinder. Bandos is quite reminiscent of Lord Mictlan, being a psychopathic war god, making him a natural enemy. This of course brought up a question: what about Ares, the iconic War God. Well, that depends on his mood. As the noble Roman god Mars, or even by some Spartan standards he doesn't want to get involved and likes that they have a good relationship with one another. But if we're talking about his more standard asshole interpretations, especially when he manipulates Kratos, oh he's absolutely right below Mictlan himself on their shitlist.
  - One god, almost on cue, made a grandstand decrying them as abominations of the highest perversion for being half-god, half-mortal; Zamasu. Like Mictlan Zamasu committed deicide against those who would go against his vision, despite supposedly making a utopia for their kind. The fact his Goku Black component took a mortal's body as a permanent reminder of mortal sins^note is just another example of hypocrisy by the mad Kaioshin. The Kaioshins of Universe 7 were glad to see the two ascend as a force against cruel gods. As will become apparent, they are hardly the only literal divine friends of the two. One couple rooting for their ascension was Mister Miracle and Big Barda. Zatz having once worked for the bad guys but reforming and opposing his former boss, having fallen in love with the other side, was a tale they were quite familiar with even if the details were different.
  - Other divine beings from more traditional pantheons count as their enemy. Apophis is perhaps the most blatant, being a monstrous giant snake who the entire Egyptian pantheon is united against. His appearance and temperament reminds Maya of the One-Winged Angel form Mictlan took, and thus the very form she sacrificed her life to strike at his heart. Typhon is another great monster-god, though not as loathsome and more akin to the father of all mythological Kaiju. Cronus is another enemy; though his ambitions are usually not as myopic as Lord Mictlan, being more about re-establishing his old role as king of the gods, no-one who literally Eats Babies to secure his throne is going to be friends with Maya and Zatz. Maya especially, since the only reason she wasn't sacrificed to Mictlan as an infant is because Lady Micte convinced him she'd make him stronger when grown as an attempt to stall for time.
  - While they aren't strictly divine, Sutekh the Destroyer and Father are in their enemies list. Like Mictlan, Father sacrifices plenty of souls in order to increase his powers. He became this powerful Humanoid Abomination by sacrificing the entire state of Xerxes and tried to gain the powers of the Truth for himself. Sutekh might as well be a god, and as Mictlan slaughtered much of his pantheon, Sutekh wiped out all but a handful of his own race in his mad quest to eliminate all other life.
- Though they are demigods, the two aren't legible for Camp Half-Blood as that's another pantheon. They're quite welcome to visit, and often do to meet up with Percy Jackson. He has his own storied history of fighting for and against the gods, saving the world from godly tyrants, and all that jazz...it just ended up a lot better for him. Maya was glad that despite their reputation as Jerkass Gods, none of his pantheon insulted her for being half-mortal. Then again, that'd be quite rich from them. Neither of them are all too fond of the Greek's Top God Zeus, though. While he's usually not outright evil, he's a capricious and hypocritical god who sires many a demigod (sometimes without the informed consent of the mortal) and isn't exactly attentive at trying to prevent his wife blaming them or their mother. For his part, Zeus does respect the two's efforts, while also admitting it's a bit amusing his bloodline wasn't picked for the trope. Of course, he muses that might be the point; it would've been a cliche to do so.
- While no longer incarnated as the sun and the moon, the two still recall their role as gods of those celestial bodies and they have a decent working relationship with the alicorn princesses. They also have a working relationship with the Greek deities, one of which (Selene) shares a name with Princess Luna in her Roman form. However they're not exactly friends because asides from Helios the other three can be rather dickish at times. After having to deal with Mictlan, they don't exactly have a high tolerance for Jerkass Gods, especially Maya. Gorr the God Butcher tried to reach out to them, albeit conflictedly since they're part mortal yet part god, trying to convince them the universe would be safer if there was simply no god. After all, their setting recovered after the depletion of many Mesoamerican gods. Maya told him to shove it since as much trouble as gods have caused, she knows they aren't all like Mictlan and she has no intention of becoming a self-righteous deicidal maniac like Gorr has.
- The Acolyte and the Radiant Goddess think they're a cute couple. So does Persephone, who's into the "dark, brooding kind" if Hades is any indication. As Maya is the biological daughter of a death goddess, she's a source of interest for Ereshkigal, and as mentioned Hades. Admittedly the couple don't always get along with the lord of the underworld since sometimes he's in a scheming mood to take power from other gods, but when written more accurately he's on good terms with the two...mainly Zatz, because he likes his aesthetic more. His half-brother Chiron has tried to act as a teacher for Maya and Zatz, as there's Greek fighting styles they aren't familiar with. One of the reasons he wants to do this is to prepare them for a new potential Götterdämmerung, the kind Loki's brood embodies. The couple are wary of them, but it's more of a general caution than anything heated.

- Like Princess Bean, Maya was a textbook Rebellious Princess, though not with the same kind of vices as she's from a kid's show^note. Compared to Zatz she doesn't have much in the way of godly superpowers asides from her skill at fighting and cool sword, however she still has a better than normal healing factor and strength, being able to easily fix broken bones. Unlike Bean, both her step and biological mother turned out to be good in the end, but as the two get along she tries to avoid pushing any buttons and risk upsetting her new friend. That being said, it took some time to accept Lady Micte as family and not an enemy. The fact that Micte was initially onboard with sacrificing her only to regret ever doing so and protecting her from her husband doesn't help. With this in mind, evil mothers really tick her off.
- Jon Snow was surprised to see that her step-mother was happy to accept her considering how Catelyn saw her. Maya was shocked to learn that her father had cheated on her adoptive mother, and she did lash out on him, but she loved her as much as her biological children. And despite the betrayal, the two made up and were Happily Married in the end. Much like Josuke, Maya doesn't have any Bastard Angst from where she came from. Given how well she was treated by Queen Teca, Maya's incensed by Hera for how she acts towards her husband's illegitimate children, saying no matter how shamed she feels by his affairs and how unable she's able to punish him specifically that's no reason to vent her anger on the kids. While somewhat flummoxed by how her parents could reconcile, and even her adoptive and biological mother getting along, Hera doesn't hold anything against Maya personally and doesn't mind if the princess vents. Aphrodite sees it as yet more proof Hera should get off her high horse.
- Like the Luminary things changed forever with her birthday. Not a Dangerous 16th Birthday, but only a year off. She's not as much of The Chosen One as he is, but she was prophesized to slay Lord Mictlan alongside three great heroes, and she did succeed albeit at the cost of her life. Fortunately he has not followed her to the Trope Pantheon...unfortunately, neither did her friends. They became Zatz' friends too, and the two decided to go out and find other heroes. She found the Xiaolin Dragons and the Planeteers, a four person and five person multinational team, reminiscent of how her friends were heroes gathered from different kingdoms. By extension, Captain Planet is an ally. Maya is close friends with Huey, Dewie and Lewie as they remind her of her brothers, the Jaguar Triplets.
- Before her Character Development, Maya wasn't too different from Kuzco. She was a prideful, selfish child who only cared for vengeance, and lied to her friends in order to avenge her brothers. Well OK, maybe not as bad as Kuzco before he grew as a person, considering the power he had. Still, Maya and Kuzco are friends, and the two have used their political influence to have their kingdoms grow together as allies. Perhaps more interesting is her outlook on Kratos. Another demigod and one with a really unpleasant war god involved in their Start of Darkness, he had waged war against the gods. While many gods he's killed honestly had it coming, some do not and a lot of innocents were caught in the cross-fire. Kratos has significantly matured with age and is aiming to be better, focusing his wrath on those who actually deserve it, but he understands why both Maya and Zatz have apprehension working with him. Still, they try to work with him anyway in part being one of many who wish to be a positive influence on him and also in part to help make the gods who actually deserve to pay pay.

- The Longhaired Pretty Boy Zatz had a darker childhood than his partner. His mother was killed by monsters as an infant/toddler. Lord Mictlan took out his eye as a child. His father Camazotz was pressured to be Mictlan's top general, and when he quickly rebelled Mictlan killed him in front of Zatz. Camazotz was a Noble Top Enforcer, mainly following out of fear for himself and his son, which makes him a more noble figure than in the original mythology. Unlike Maya Zatz has inherited his godly parent's abilities, being able to shapeshift into a single or swarm of bats. Much like Batman, while he's associated with bats and has a dark and brooding aesthetic^notethough not half as much as Bruce he's a good man. Batman rarely has off time, but when he does he likes to meet up with Zatz. Both think the other has killer aesthetics. Bruce had mused he knows the feeling of having a thing for someone on the opposite side.
- Zatz may have a fair bit of tragedy in his background, but one thing that cannot be denied is that his parents were loving to him despite the dangerous situation they were in. A bit of commentary he had with Percy is that their divine dads were again, a lot nicer than in the original myths. The other demigod thinks maybe that's because the "death bat" re-evaluated his priorities after being defeated by the Mayan Hero Twins. He was definitely interested to learn that while un-ascended, his dad and Cabrakan have participated in the Battlefield of the Gods. Sometimes he composes songs and poetry in a mood with fellow white-haired pretty boy Rhaegar Targaryen. Rhaegar mused that much like Lady Micte his romantic affair had indirectly caused a fair bit of trouble, and unlike Micte Jon Snow still has some issues with his biological father he hasn't resolved yet.
- He has a lot of the traits of a Romantic Vampire Boy, though he's not a vampire. Still, he's friends with the Dhampyr Alucard. As for Alucard's father...well, while he can understand the reason he hates humanity he certainly won't condone his actions. And don't get him started on that creep Michael Morningstar, the kind of but not really vampire who uses women. Because of his association with darkness and bats, the demigod interests Antasma and Chernabog, the former seeing him as a rival due to his role as the "Prince of Bats". Due to their usage of bats/darkness for evil, he's not a fan of them. Because of his bat aesthetic, Zatz manages to be one of few not annoyed by Zubat; they seem to respect his role as a bat-based demigod and he has control over them as an extension of his powers. Though normally stoic and composed, he can be playful with the Murkrow flock and like, letting them rest on his Shoulders of Doom.

The Candlemaker is a spirit who lives in the Cave of Souls and is also the keeper of the Book of Life. A powerful yet humble deity made out of celestial candlewax and with a beard of clouds, he's in charge of both keeping the balance between the Land of the Remembered and Land of the Forgotten, and more importantly creating the candles of life that embody every living thing. He has a brother, the Creator, who rules the Land of the Blessed, a land where angels and other celestial beings live. He helped Manolo return to the land of the living and acted as the officiator of his wedding to Maria Posada, along with helping him deal with Chakal. He also was the officiator for Lady Micte and Lord Mictlan's wedding...that didn't go as well though.
His ascension was, according to some, foreshadowed by the fact he was the herald of his divine contemporaries La Muerte and Xibalba. A good friend of bost even if he acknowledges the latter can be a jerk. Like them he also took a modern human form incognito, that being a bus driver, Mr C. According to some official notes He used have a thing for the former, and the puddle he has in the Cave of Souls isn't just a Companion Cube; it's alive and made from the tears of a goddess, La Muerte's sister La Noche. Also, Maya and the Three shares a universe with him, so he was kind of happy to see Maya and Zatz ascend with him as he enjoyed their story. Chakal wasn't exactly happy to learn the Candlemaker had ascended due to his role in his defeat, but it's not something the Candlemaker puts much consideration into. Having aided them and overall impressed by their accomplishments, Manolo, Maria and Joaquin were happy to meet up with the waxy, lovable god again.
His ascension as the god of Elemental Hair Composition is because of his Weird Beard of elemental clouds. Because it's made of clouds, someone decided to prank him by inviting Rayquaza over and use its ability of Air Lock to wipe that weather off his face. This didn't work, in large part because of how powerful he is and it's not exactly weather. The dragon and the Candlemaker are amicable to each other because the latter likes how the former, and another dragon Zygarde for the matter, have the job of keeping order in the world, particularly against squabbling entities like Groudon and Kyogre. As a life and soul deity, the Pokemon that he has the closest working relationship with is Xerneas and Yveltal, the incarnations of life and death. Him and Arceus are pretty tight too, and the latter can respect him for taking his job seriously but not being a stick in the mud and having a good sense of humor.
The Candlemaker's function is to craft the candles that embody and represent people's lives. If that candle is still lit, it means they're alive. Though he's easy going and almost never gets into a scrap, he is still an equal to La Muerte and Xibalba, and along with his important role as a life/soul god he's one of the more understated Overdeities in the Trope Pantheon. The House of Undead and Phasmata was curious as to what their candle would look like since they're, you know, undead and still kicking in the mortal realm. Apparently when he shows them their candle, the fire is extinguished but its still hot and smoking. For Voldemort, it was multiple small and lopsided candles with a very tiny flame, representing his mutilated soul. While agreeing with most he's reprehensible, he's more disappointed than anything he could sully his essence to escape the reaper, and his ultimate fate may be worse than the Land of the Cursed.
The Cave of Souls serves as his temple, and it has a direct connection to both the House of Life and Vitality, and the House of Death and Postmortem. It's the nature of his job, after all. Strictly speaking his job of making the candles only applies to those from his universe, however with other divinity's permission he can make candles for other universes. The Life Entity and Death of the Endless were the ones who gave the go ahead for this, creating an appendix for his Book of Life to catalogue the comings and goings of Trope Pantheon members. Literal deities and divine entities don't show up in the appendix, though it's not like gods showed up in the regular one. Comparisons could be made between his book and Destiny's, though as the Candlemaker will readily admit Destiny's is far more expansive and influential. Unlike Destiny of the Endless he isn't bound to his book.
Because of his job, he works closely with divine beings of life, death and whatever's in-between. Though he follows the rules, he's willing to bend them a bit in order to help souls and spirits in need. The nature of the Trope Pantheon means that he has to relight candles, something he's not done that often, but he can adapt. Though his morality and worldview is more convention compared to Shishigami's Blue-and-Orange Morality, his nature as a life and soul deity means he understands the importance of the Nature Spirit and aids its role in the world. With this role in mind, he's on good terms with San and Ashitaka. Lady Eboshi is curious about him given her prior experiences, but is wise to avoid getting too interested in him. Darth Plagueis doesn't share this; he wishes to study the Candlemaker to learn the secrets of life itself...most would consider his reasons to be nefarious. Junior the Stork is another ally of his due to his role of delivering babies, and thus new life.
He's like Hestia in that he gets along with everyone he meets. They've got different jobs, though as being a protector of the family is an essential role as her "goddess of the hearth" position, knowing and getting along with people is super important for her. Due to The Book of Life and Maya and the Three having a shared universe, the "public domain gods" that he has the most familiarity with are the Mayan and Aztec ones. He's on good terms with them, except for Ah Puch by "virtue" of Ah Puch being a complete asshole who makes corpses and the dead his playthings, and he intends to expand his Hell. Yeah, Tezcatlipoca can be a major tool like Xibalba, but he still recognizes the Candlemaker's importance and he's a Nice Guy he respects. On another continent, there are some Egyptian gods seeking to work in tandem with him; Osiris and Anubis have the role of judging the dead, and while they usually want the heart of the dead to weigh they are OK with using his candles as a substitute if someone fails to be mummified. Few can say they hate the Candlemaker. Even someone as notorious as Zamasu, while seeing him as an enemy, doesn't have anything against him personally and might've liked to know him, but his job is antithetical to the Zero Mortals Plan. Like almost everyone the Candlemaker thinks he's nuts and his plan is steeped in blood and hypocrisy. As destroying the Cave of Souls and him would prevent new life from emerging in his native universe, he's considered a primary target by the GUAD. They aren't the only ones, mind you. Darkseid sees every god not under his control as someone to subjugate and/or eliminate, and the idea of taking the Cave of Souls, letting him control the fate of life itself in the Candlemaker's universe...is a terrifying one and it puts a smile on Darkseid's face. The Monitor had been, well, monitoring this and has informed the Candlemaker of some other multiversal threats. As the Monitor it is his job to observe and help the positive matter universes develop; a bit more cosmic in terms of divine vocation, but not incomparable to the Candlemaker's role.
Much as how almost nobody has a bad word for the Candlemaker, the Candlemaker rarely has it in him to hate someone. One of the only exceptions to this is Chakravartin. Controller of the Wheel of Life and Death in his universe, he continually destroys and rebirths planet Gaea to find a suitable successor to take it over after he leaves, harms trillions in the process without a care. He's a perversion of everything the Candlemaker holds dear. The same could be said about Zanza, and especially Kronika who's vision of balance is insane as far as he's concerned. He feels real bad for Cetrion having being gaslit into Kronika's loyal daughter despite what she's done (including sacrificing herself) and wishes she could live up to her potential. Perpetua and the Anti-Monitor are major enemies, as she seeks to enslave him in order to control life while Mobius simply seeks to destroy him along with his universe. Her son the World Forger has been making some Powered Armor and enchantments to give him at least some chance surviving them, though they're so OP he can't guarantee. When asked why he's putting in the help, Alpheus said that as creating life and making sure the right universes reach the light multiverse, their jobs compliment each other to a degree.
On a more lighter note, he has a bit of an issue with Beerus the Destroyer. Not that he dislikes him, and the two recognize each other's importance, but he feels Beerus isn't that good at his job and as such he's one of those beings who gets away with snarking at Beerus' expense without fear of reprisal or even the cat being too pissed. Since the Candlemaker's job is one of creation, his specialties are more something to tie in with the Kaioshins, and they prove a lot more competent than the cat....well, except maybe Shin, but since he was Incompletely Trained he has more of an excuse. Whis, an angel who observes and keeps a sense of balance, enjoys having Mexican meals with the Candlemaker. The Living Tribunal has been observing their meetings and believes the Candlemaker is doing a good job, and a heads up...Melkor and Ungoliant are seeking to come in and marr his cave. Ungoliant hungers for the light within him and his cave, and Melkor seeks to marr the world he comes from the same way he did Arda.
Nekron could sense Nagash's plans to enslave the Candlemaker so he may control the souls of everyone and had the more reliable^noteread: loyal Lich infiltrate that afterlife since he has prior experience. The Candlemaker made sure to warn both La Muerte and Xibalba that "if there's any gnarly horned dude or big yellow hand wanting to have a say with one of your bets, squash him like a bug. You gotta play safe with the guy". The Crimson King meanwhile wants to physically tear the Cave of Souls apart by removing its metaphysical foundation. Finn and Jake helped stop the Lich's attempted takeover of their universe's afterlife as part of their final journey before they reincarnated, so they were happy to help out the Candlemaker.
Said to look like God. He is not the Alpha and Omega of his setting, but he is a powerful being whose job is to maintain the balance and the peace over the world of the living and the dead, and he's quite a nice guy. His aforementioned brother also comes off as kind of a God-like figure if the Land of the Blessed is any indication. Some have even compared his ability to craft life candles akin to Eru's usage of a true, ensouled life is described as the Flame Imperishable, though Eru is far grander than even the Candlemaker. He is someone that the Candlemaker would refer to as "sir", and listens to his advice. He works on his godly duties with the Valar, who usually make good conversation partners. Other benevolent Gods get along with the Candlemaker.

Reasoning: Amatsu Mikaboshi embodies and is the void before creation, and also represents the chaos before it. As in? Mikaboshi is the Anthropomorphic Personification of it. Its sole goal is to consume all of existence and return it to the void. Needs reworked for little texts, short texts, lack of interactions and no bio.

@Shinobi/Azure Those suggested ideas for the Helldivers only became heavily noticeable on the sequel, not on the first.

Read Reginald Orgon's post. He wants to incorporate both games, not just sticking to current canon.

I don't really see how that's relevant. May not be the major characterization in the beginning, but it is now.

Edit: Ok I see. Doesn't change anything though. Also how does wanting to incorporate both games make a difference? It's still the same thing. Even if Reginald Ogron 5 want to incorporate both games it doesn't change what either me or Shinobi said and/or trope suggested. Although it doesn't really matter, still have to wait for the Hype Prevention Sandbox.

Magic entered the world when the first tree grew. It flowed into the soil, the air, and the water, spreading all over the Earth. This magic goes by many names — glimourie, glamry, glim, glimt — and the source of it all is called the Glimourie Tree. Long ago, magical creatures lived everywhere, but humanity hunted them to near-extinction. The glimourie is at its strongest in the Archipelago, and 3,000 years ago, it was hidden away to keep magical creatures and humans who respected them safe. Now, the only way to enter it is through portals that open under very specific circumstances, called waybetweens.
Places of interest include:
- Lithia is the largest island. It's home to Bryn Tor, a bustling port town where magical creatures roam the streets alongside humans. Hundreds of sailors pass through everyday to sell their most valuable wares. The streetlamps are lit with salamandric fire, which never goes out. It has a pub called The Naiad's Tail, which is popular among fishers.
  North of Bryn Tor is the City of Scholars, whose yellow stone buildings surround a lagoon. The Archipelago's wealthiest people live here, such as the Trevasse family. The city's landmarks include a mermaid-shaped fountain, a large jewellers called the Gem Palace, and Anja Trevasse's palazzo.
  The north-eastern peninsula is home to sphinxes, who are willing to offer knowledge to anyone who can answer their riddles — or eat them if they can't. They carve writing in various languages into mountainsides.
- A few smaller islands have friendly inhabitants, too.
  Atidina's town of Icthus was once the biggest port in the Archipelago, but fell out of use when it was hidden from the rest of the world. Now, its human inhabitants enjoy its quietness, and occasionally merfolk and hippocamps swim alongside fishing boats. Borometzes grow in its fields, and unicorns live in its forests.
  Antiok is home to centaurs, skilled artisans who make magical artefacts and potions. Due to their high metabolic costs, they need to eat a dozen times a day, and they have night-long feasts every full moon. The University of Alquon is on the west of the island.
  Tār has a small population of humans, but its main point of interest is its forest. There, the smell of the glimourie is strong, and dryads live inside the colourful trees, some of which grow extremely delicious apples.
- The Island of the Immortal has a golden palace where the Immortal, the being who contains the soul of the Glimourie Tree's first apple, lives. Whenever they die, they immediately reincarnate, and keep all the memories of their past lives. That was, until 100 years ago, when the Immortal's incarnation couldn't handle his burden and drank a potion to forget everything. Now, the palace is overgrown and overrun with karkadans, vicious unicorn-like creatures who kill for sport and have toxins dripping from their horns.
- Arkhe is the northernmost island, surrounded by a choppy sea and covered in sand. It's inhospitable to most beings, but dragons like its warmth. Here, the Glimourie Tree grows under a sun-like orb of pure heat and magic called the Solumnulum, that holds the barrier around the Archipelago in place. It's also the "sun" that Icarus flew into. In order to keep it safe from intruders, the tree is hidden within a trap-lined maze that only the Immortal knows the way through.
- There are also some islands that visitors are advised to avoid at all costs. The Island of Manticores is barren because its inhabitants try to eat everything they see, and like to torment their prey first. The Isle of Murderers is a prison colony that no-one can ever leave because of an enchantment.
In order to preserve the Archipelago's wildlife, some gods were pre-emptively banned. Pokémon Hunter J hunts all sorts of exotic life-forms, and the magical creatures would definitely be on her list if she were allowed in. Voldemort is been known to kill unicorns, which is considered a special kind of evil in his world. It's unknown if the Archipelago has this taboo, but its inhabitants take great care to not needlessly kill magical creatures.
Fluttershy, Hitch Trailblazer, and Rubeus Hagrid are all good with animals, magical or mundane. Fluttershy can tame the most dangerous of creatures, and during a visit, she calmed down a rampaging kraken simply by asking it what was wrong. The first time Hitch stepped onto Bryn Tor, he was instantly followed by an entourage of al-mirajes. Hagrid... is much less sensible. He once tried to pet a manticore, and would've gotten eaten if he wasn't so big. Some people have mistaken him for a berserker, and order of fearless humans who protect the Immortal.
Gilda's visit caused quite a stir. Griffins are believed to be extinct in the Archipelago after the glimourie started to fade five years ago. Furthermore, unlike the Archipelago's griffins, Gilda can talk. She loved the attention at first, but soon became frustrated with it, so she sold some of her feathers to wealthy humans for an exuberant amount of gold pieces and left without another word.
The Spectral Familiars are interested in the Archipelago because it has an eerily similar backstory to their Monster Sanctuary. It too is a place where magical beings live alongside humans that's hidden from the outside world, and surrounds the site where the first tree grew. They and their keepers have considered letting some of the Archipelago's creatures live in the Sanctuary, but they're having a hard time getting the flying senate (the Archipelago's government) to agree. Regardless, the two dominions have diplomatic ties, and their inhabitants frequently travel between them.

On the topic of Power Rangers, I think Tommy Oliver should have a separate profile under Sixth Ranger. He just needs a big old rework.

The Reason: Tommy Oliver is the original Sixth Ranger in the franchise, and despite debuting later in Mighty Morphin, he became the single most influential character in the series, appearing on four separate Ranger teams and appearing in multiple seasons throughout the last 31 years.

Dull day so I'm just going to make a quick suggestion regarding Dag; can I have permission to change his trip to Cruel Coyotes. I think Predators Are Mean, while fitting for a character like him, feels too expansive and I'd prefer a group of predators of different species to get that trope IMO. As for the new trope, Dag is pretty much the textbook definition of the trope; he's a vicious, sadistic, mean-spirited, and ravenous coyote who does everything he can to terrorize Otis and his friends and the narrative always treats him seriously. Case in point, Dag is about as close as a kid-friendly animated film could get for a serial killer, he's that awful.
