     Total Drama Hosts

Chris

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chris_77.jpg
"Oh. My bad. Maybe if you get bitten you’ll just FEEL like you’re gonna die."

The narcissist, sadistic host of Total Drama.

  • Ambiguously Gay: He only dates Blaineley to make Chef jealous and has had no other girlfriends since, with most attention being diverted towards his friendship with Chef. Giselle, noted Yaoi Fangirl, gets very invested in their relationship. Dawn also reveals that he and Chef do "tickling" together.
  • Broken Win/Loss Streak: Chris was said to have been the winner of the “Best Reality Show Host” Gemmy ever since it was introduced, but in “Celebrity Manhunt Returns” he finally loses the award to Don.
  • Fetish: According to Dawn, he likes to watch videos of elderly women making out.
  • In-Series Nickname: A Running Gag is the characters calling him "Chris the Creep" for his unintentionally creepy comments about the contestants.
  • It Amused Me: Why he wouldn't let Will help out Charlotte and Trent with their troubles. He wants ratings and drama from their breakup.
  • Jerkass: As in canon, he's sadistic and very cruel towards other living beings. An example is the above mentioned trope.
Chris: HAHA!... Will, I’d LOVE for you to stay and help us sort things out between Trent and Charlotte who CLEARLY need it… but I kinda wanna see how long I can play this out. You know, ratings!
Will: Your jerka**ness knows no boundaries, does it?
Chris: I dunno. I would never hurt a blind puppy. I have a soft spot for those…. But I HAVE hurt NORMAL puppies. (laughs) THAT’S fun.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Has several moments where karma catches up to his abuse.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After hosting six seasons of Total Drama and forcing the various competitors through sadistic challenges of his design, he finds himself as a contestant in Ridonculous Race, now forced to endure challenges himself to his horror and immense displeasure. When he and Chef are eliminated, all the ex-Total Drama contestants competing in the race laugh at him.
  • Manchild: To obnoxious levels in TDRRDO.
  • The Millstone: He spends his time on the Ridonculous Race acting as The Load, complaining about how he is now a contestant on a reality show instead of the host, barely doing anything to contribute to Chef. He then falls into this in Bjorken Telephone, when his refusal to run back with Chef to listen to the Iceland saying again or eat any of the feast give him and Chef a one hour penalty, which ultimately ends up getting them eliminated.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: He often says unintentionally inappropriate things towards the underage contestants, so they call him out as being creepy.
  • Official Couple: Offscreen he dated Blaineley for a while.
  • Older Than They Look: All his spa treatments keep him looking like he's in his thirties, but according to Chef, he's really fifty.
  • Promoted to Playable: Becomes a contestant in TDRRDO.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: The one time he actually tries to follow the rules of the show and not be biased, it backfired as the rules were rewritten without his knowledge.
  • Sore Loser: Reduced to tears when he gets eliminated.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Gets worse within each passing season like canon.

Chef

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chef_7.jpg
"Not till you're dead and I cook you to stew!"

The terrifying chef of the island and Chris's main accomplice.

  • Bittersweet Ending: Chef doesn't win the race and he is annoyed by Chris a lot, but he's glad he's not competing anymore and plans a day out with Don after the race is finished.
  • Curse Cut Short: After being tested by Chris countless times when competing in the Ridonculous Race.
  • Evil Mentor: To Shin in TDADO. He makes him cheat in challenges like he did to DJ in the original Action.
  • Official Couple: He dates Mama DJ for awhile, but they eventually breakup.
  • Pet the Dog: Shows a lot of this towards the contestants despite being an Scary Black Man.
  • Promoted to Playable: Becomes a contestant in TDRRDO.
  • Scary Black Man: Like in canon, he's a militant buff black man who towers over even Jasmine.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Fakes being massively injured in order to get away from Chris for a while in All-Stars.

Mama DJ

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mommasquare.jpg
"The moral of the day is… DISCIPLINE YO KIDS!"

DJ's sassy, overbearing mother.

  • Ascended Extra: From several bit appearances in DJ's audition and in the canon Celebrity Manhunt to a central character in two seasons. Even past that, she goes from being Chef's girlfriend to competing alongside her son.
  • Corporal Punishment: Spanks Taylor in "Little Bull on the Prairie" after she continues to act spoiled and unhelpful.
  • My Beloved Smother: She hovers over her son DJ, even when he's an adult. Part of her Character Development in Ridonculous Race is realizing that DJ has grown up and can handle things without her now.
  • Odd Friendship: With Kelly, another mother figure on the show.
  • Official Couple: She dates Chef during Action.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: She's only known as "Mama," with no first name given.
  • Shipper on Deck: Seriously wants DJ to end up with Emma. No kidding.
  • Supreme Chef: Subverted. Her amazing cooking is actually sandwiches ordered from an external source.

Don

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donsquare.png
"Did I accidentally show bias?"

Don seems to be indifferent to the risks of putting the contestants through dangerous challenges. Despite being indifferent to the dangerous challenges, he does show legitimate concern for the well-being of the contestants. Like Chris, Don is a narcissist who often comments on his looks and shows a loss of gracefulness if they were to be altered. Unlike Chris, though, Don is actually fair to the competitors as he makes sure that they thoroughly follow the rules, and does not seem to be sadistic. He does not hesitate to penalize those who break the rules, but will not disqualify any teams for causing any sort of trouble (sometimes he makes things go from bad to worse), especially in regards to his least favorite team (who cheats or sabotages other teams) throughout the race.

  • Good Counterpart: He is one to Chris. They are both hosts to different reality tv shows, but while Chris is sadistic, creates life-threatening challenges for his own amusement, and enjoys the drama his contestants cause and tends to help stir the pot himself, Don acts professionally, tries to enforce the rules as fairly as possible, and shows annoyance when troublemakers like Alejandro and the Ice Dancers managed to make it further on his show than more worthy teams.
  • Good Parents: He's quite nice to his son, Topher.
  • Related in the Adaptation: While they never even interact in the canon, Topher is his son here.

  • Everyone Has Standards: This is what ultimately leads to both her Heel–Face Turn and break up with Alejandro. They both might be masterminds and have an obsession with winning, but after Heather eventually mellowed out a bit, she was disgusted by the length Alejandro would go to try to to secure victory, especially when she finds out he cheated on her behind her back.

  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Like in canon, much of her dialogue is taken up by odd phrases, and her mind seems completely disheveled.

  • Dirty Coward: Is prone to running away and hiding behind others just to save his good looks.

  • Sassy Black Woman: Like in canon, one of her main characteristics is sassing other contestants. She gets placed on the Villainous Vultures in All Stars simply because she's too sassy and short-tempered, despite her obviously not being a bad person.
  • Token Good Teammate: She's one of the only non-villain characters on the Villainous Vultures, and is only placed there for her attitude.

Lindsay

Colton: What? You take her word for it but not Chef’s or mine? Why?
Noah: (deadpan) Um, cuz only one of those three people are in a committed relationship with me, and the other two are in a completely different league than me. And no, that league isn’t “guys”, it’s “intimidatingly bossy, judgemental guys”.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: He's the level-headed bookworm to his girlfriend Abigail, a flighty and easily distracted Cloudcuckoolander.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: During the first part of Action, he develops an irrational disdain for Tyler when the latter becomes close friends with Abigail, suspecting him to be a "thieving jock" and trying to push him away from Abigail. Placed: 17th (TDIDO), 15th (TDADO), 10th/11th (TDWTDO), 8th (TDPDO)

  • Anger Born of Worry: Several times during Pahkitew, he chastises Charlotte for putting herself in dangerous situations or hanging out with seemingly dangerous people, but it stems out of worry that she'll end up hurt again, since she already suffered a kidnapping and memory wipe in Area 51. However, he crosses the line and becomes quite rude and possessive in expressing these concerns to Charlotte.
  • Arc Villain: Functions as the core antagonist to Pahkitew, emotionally abusing Charlotte and dragging several other contestants into his drama.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He serves as the main antagonist of Pahkitew, but only comes in 8th place. This also marks the worst placement for any of the main antagonists, with the others placing anywhere between 4th and 2nd place in their own respective seasons.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • He refuses to kiss Gwen as his dare in "I Love You, I Love You Knots," not wanting to cheat on Charlotte.
    • He thought that Ella knew that they were pretending to date when in reality, Ella thought that it was genuine. He's distraught to see Ella be sad by him using her.
  • Face–Heel Turn: After Charlotte temporarily loses her memories, he becomes overprotective and hostile to the point where he beats Geoff out of suspicion that Charlotte is cheating on him with him.
  • Love Triangle:
    • With Gwen and Charlotte in Island.
    • Then with Charlotte and Mel in Pahkitew.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: He gets a lot after he Took a Level in Jerkass during Pahkitew.
    • He became a Crazy Jealous Guy towards Charlotte, emotionally abusing her while saying he is "protecting her" and believes she is cheating on him. This eventually culminates in her breaking up with him during a challenge in front of everyone via a Break-Up Song.
    • After Charlotte breaks up with him, he causes Mel's elimination to get back at them and starts a fake relationship with Ella to try to make Charlotte jealous. This eventually leads to Ella giving him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech at her elimination for playing with her feelings, and his own unanimous elimination at the next ceremony after he has run out of allies.
    • The special "Celeberty Manhunt Returns" reveals that after Pahkitew, Charlotte quit being the manager of The Drama Brothers, leaving them to suffer without her while she formed a new successful band with B, Mel, and Geoff.

  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Subject to one by Ella when she finds out their relationship was a sham.

Tyler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tylersquare_86.jpg

Total Drama World Tour Canon Characters

Alejandro

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alejandrosquare_5.jpg
"Please. Call me Alejandro."

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama World Tour Do Over, Total Drama All-Stars Do Over, Total Drama Ridonculous Race Do Over
Placed in: 3rd (TDIDO), 14th (TDWTDO), 10th (TDASDO), 3rd (TDRRDO)

  • Adaptational Jerkass: While Alejandro was the Arc Villain of canon World Tour, he had a sympathetic side, with Heather becoming a Morality Pet for him and him becoming more comedic in All Stars. In Do Over, Alejandro is much more malicious and dangerous after dropping his charming façade, even admitting he's willing to kill people to win the game. He's also much more willing to openly insult people and is generally more overtly cruel than he is in canon, behaving more similarly to canon Island Heather. While he does form a relationship with Heather in Do Over, it's much less genuine, as he cheats on her with Cheyenne in Ridonculous Race, then severely injures Heather during a challenge just so she doesn't find out about it. This leads to Heather dumping him before the end of the series.
  • Always Someone Better: Like in canon, he resents his brother José for being more handsome, cunning, and athletic than him.
  • Ambiguously Bi: While he only shows true attraction to women, he gives a passionate kiss to DJ on a dare in "I Triple Dog Dare You" — he doesn't like DJ, but he refuses to ever give a bad kiss. He also admits in "The Ex-Files" that he's willing to flirt with men, and the only issue he has with that is that he's out of everybody's league.
  • Big Bad: The main villain of Island and Ridonculous Race.
  • Book Ends: The villain of the first and last seasons and finished 3rd in both of them.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Sees Robert as a prick like the rest of the characters in TDIDO and even wanted to delay his plans to eliminates others just to get him off the show.
  • Latin Lover: Invokes his Latin charm to manipulate the women. A few contestants, such as Mel, lampshade that his heritage makes him attractive.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Uses his good looks to charm unwilling ladies.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Appears in the second most episodes of all contestants at 93 of the possible 200 or so.

Blaineley

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blaineleysquare_1.jpg
"I'm flattered. And for the record, I'm 16, just like the rest of you!"

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over
Placed in: 39th (TDIDO)

  • Bad Liar: Claims she isn't fifty-six years old despite being obviously older than sixteen.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite being drama-hungry herself, she calls out Chris for exploiting Domestic Abuse and other serious situations for the sake of drama, referring to such things as "BAD drama."
  • Latex Perfection: She uses it to disguise herself as Alice's assistant Hank. She is eventually outed near the end of the season.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: She is disqualified in TDIDO for lying about her age, being well over the age restriction.
  • Older Than They Look: She invokes this to join the teen-only first season, but gets caught as being an adult.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Leaves TDASDO after having enough of Chris' desire for drama.
  • Token Good Teammate: Is the least sadistic of the All Stars hosts, often making challenges less dangerous.

Sierra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sierrasquare.jpg
"I've watched over hundreds of elimination themed shows. It's a common theme. Trust me."

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama All-Stars Do Over
Placed in: 9th (TDIDO), 11th (TDASDO)

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: While she becomes Cody's Stalker with a Crush in both canon and this fic, the circumstances under which it happens are different. In canon, she was Cody's number one fangirl and her behavior was that of a Loony Fan meeting her favorite celebrity. In Do Over, since she competes in the first season alongside Cody, her attraction forms simply because they took the same boat on the island and he was nice to her.
  • Ambiguously Bi: She offhandedly mentions in the first episode that she's willing to date boys or girls because she's In Love with Love, but this never comes back again and all of her crushes are guys. During the "Love is in the 'Ierra" dating game, Abigail is one of the possible options for Sierra to date. While the dating game just includes all of the eliminated contestants, and it's pointed out that Abigail is already dating Noah, the idea of Sierra dating a woman is never called into question.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: When Cody is eliminated in Island, she chooses to quit the game rather than be without Cody.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Played with. She only crushes on one guy at a time but when she does it gets obsessive.
  • Stalker with a Crush: As in canon, she obsesisvely researches and stalks any guy she loves, but her obsession manages to transfer to B from Cody.
  • Teen Superspy: Recruited as a secret agent by the government due to her hacking skills.

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama Action Do Over, Total Drama Ridonculous Race Do Over
Placed in: 33rd (TDIDO), 7th (TDADO), 21st (TDRRDO)

  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Anne Maria and Ezekiel are friends in this universe, instead of him flirting with her and her being disgusted with him in canon.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Straight in the original canon series, but bisexual in the fanfiction, ending up in a relationship with Vanessa.
  • Closet Key: Implied that she helped Vanessa realize she was into women.

B

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama Action Do Over, Total Drama All-Stars Do Over
Placed in: 20th (TDIDO), 23rd (TDADO), 15th (TDASDO)

  • Beware the Quiet Ones: While he's generally mute by choice, he will open his mouth when something serious needs to be said. When the moon makes him talkative in "Moon Madness", Sierra winds up on the end of a "The Reason You Suck" Speech due to how awfully she's been stalking him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: He is well known as The Quiet One, so anytime he speaks is serious. His very first words were in "X-Treme Torture", where he simply told his teammates to vote Dawn at the next elimination ceremony. When he and Bridgette are eliminated in "No Pain, No Game", he sadly asks DJ if he can have a goodbye hug. He then gives Sierra "The Reason You Suck" Speech in "Moon Madness" due to the effects of the Blue Moon.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Charlotte quit being the manager for The Drama Brothers in "Celeberty Manhunt Returns", B was the only member who left the band with her and joined her much more successful band with Mel and Geoff.
  • The Quiet One: Until he chooses to speak in several episodes in Island and All Stars.

Brick

Placed in: 27th (TDIDO), 10th (TDADO), 12th (TDWTDO), 14th (TDASDO), 17th (TDPDO)

  • Honor Before Reason: How he eliminates himself in Island. Will would have been eliminated in a unanimous vote, but Brick was too depressed over losing the Boot Camp challenge, since it was his very skill set. So, he quits during the ceremony out of dishonor, and also to spare any of his friends from elimination.
  • The Rival: He's rivals with Colton, due to Colton viewing Brick as soft and Brick viewing Colton as disrespectful.

Cameron

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cameronsquare.jpg

Placed in: 28th (TDIDO), 30th (TDWTDO), 19th (TDASDO), 24th (TDRRDO)

  • Accidental Murder: Notable for being a contestant with a body count, when she accidentally pushes a member of her paparazzi off a cliff during a challenge.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: In canon, despite her mutation, she underwent Character Development to become less selfish and more kind. In Do Over, she becomes a worse Attention Whore, manipulating the other contestants (particularly Noah, forging a "Dear John" Letter from Abigail to break his heart) just to cause drama.
  • Attention Whore: Joins Ridonculous Race with Topher in order to boost her screen time.
  • Character Development: She and Topher decide to take their lives more seriously and stop seeking for attention in TDRRDO.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Disapproves of Robert's assholery towards everyone in TDIDO.
  • Kicked Upstairs: After being recruited as an intern post-elimination, she becomes the host for a chunk of Total Drama World Tour Do Over after Chris gets abducted by the FBI.
  • Never My Fault: Unfairly kicks Noah off the show for burning her belongings, even though she sent him a fake breakup note from Abigail just to cause tension. In All-Stars, she has the guts to want Noah to apologize to her.

Dawn

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dawnsquare.jpg

  • Big "WHAT?!": She lets one out when Laurie says the only way they can complete the leg in Iceland and avoid elimination is to eat the feast.
  • The Cameo: The second of the three final bosses for All Stars.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: Her psychic abilities are sometimes used to justify her breaking the fourth wall, such as pointing out that she's not an Original Character.

Jo

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While generally an abrasive Jerk Jock, she softens by the time of All Stars to help raise Fang and comes to terms with her affection for Harold.
  • The Nicknamer: Like in canon, she tends to give other people rude nicknames.
  • Working with the Ex: With Harold by the second celebrity manhunt. They broke up before then, but are amicable with each other.

Lightning

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lightningsquare.jpg
"The Lightning wants his challenge now!"

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama World Tour Do Over, Total Drama Pahkitew Island Do Over
Placed: 35th (TDIDO), 5th (TDWTDO), 6th (TDPDO)

  • Break the Haughty: After spending the whole series boasting about himself as per canon, his confidence takes a major nosedive after he loses the Olympics challenge in Greece, failing to even win a medal. This slice of Humble Pie causes him to doubt himself for awhile and he is forced to start seeing the value everyone has, athletic or not.
  • Pet the Dog: He is one of the contestants who sends Cameron flowers after his Game-Breaking Injury in Total Drama Action. Especially notable since this is before he Took a Level in Kindness.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: With the power of friendship, he becomes less haughty and more humble and selfless.

Mike

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mikesquare.jpg
"Yes. NO! I mean, no way. This is a mistake!"

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama Action Do Over, Total Drama All-Stars Do Over
Placed in: 25th (TDIDO), 4th (TDADO), 3rd (TDASDO)

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Punched Justin after having enough of his vanity at one point.
  • Put on a Bus: After Mal is revealed to be the true personality all along, he makes amends with Zoey and everyone else before letting Mal take over forever.
  • Voice Changeling: He's apparently fantastic at voice impersonations, and perfectly imitates Abigail's voice to lure Noah out of hiding in "The Sand Witch Project."

Chester

One of Mike's Alternate Personalities:Chester appears whenever Mike is irritated by something. He often complains about things, and bickers with the other contestants and other personalities.

Svetlana

One of Mike's Alternate Personalities:She appears primarily whenever Mike is in a physically challenging setting. Speaking in a Russian accent and in third person, she has long eyelashes, thick lips, unique eye irises, and a graceful figure. In terms of attitude, she seems to be the most enthusiastic and caring of the personalities.

Vito

One of Mike's Alternate Personalities:He is muscular, always shirtless, and has hair that is gelled back. He enjoys instigating conflicts, flirting, and obsessing over his self-proclaimed "hotness." Vito appears whenever Mike's shirt is removed.

Manitoba Smith

One of Mike's Alternate Personalities:He is a parody of the fictional archaeologist, Indiana Jones, while his accent and mannerisms parody Australian movie icon Michael "Crocodile" Dundee as well as the late Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter. He only appears whenever Mike puts on a hat, which is always a fedora.

Mal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/malsquare.jpg
"At long last… I'M in FULL CONTROL again…"

  • Abusive Parents: His parents physically abused each other and then turned to Mal when he emulated their behavior. This resulted in the creation of Mike, a "good" child who was preferred by his parents.
  • Arc Villain: He emerges in All-Stars and causes most of the chaos in that season, serving as the main villain.
  • Freudian Excuse: He comes from an abusive household, copied said abusive behavior for attention and was punished for it, then was then ignored by his parents in favor of his kinder alter, building up resentment that manifests as criminality.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: His Freudian Excuse is that despite being the original personality, everybody prefers Mike over him, and he just wants to be desired for who he is. This is why he gets so unhealthily attached to Bridgette — he's convinced that she could actually love him for him due to her behavior under the blue moon.
  • Knight of Cerebus: After his appearance, the series becomes darker and less reliant on zany humor. His crimes include whacking Zoey with the butt of a leech gun, leaving Bridgette alone in the woods, throwing Heather off of a boat, and attempting to crush Chef. His backstory also involves serious abuse, played for complete drama.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: While beating up Harold, Mal mocks him for dating a masculine woman.
  • Would Hit a Girl: One of his first acts of evil is hitting Zoey with a leech gun, which is treated extremely seriously.

Sam

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama World Tour Do Over

  • Hidden Depths: He shows in the Japan challenge to be great at writing Sci-Fi stories, writing a commercial his team can perform. He explains that all the best games have great storylines, hinting he may want to write a game someday.
  • Sanity Slippage: After his game console gets soaked, he begins to lose motivation. This leads to his Island elimination.

Scott

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scottsquare.jpg

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: His Pappy, who referred to Dawn as his girlfriend even before they started dating.
  • Batman Gambit: He actually manages to pull one on Courtney during the finals of World Tour that wins him the game. After Beth told him that Courtney instructed her to blindside Mel in the last episode he knew to watch out for Courtney, so he saw through Courtney's attempt to trick him by switching their dummies, and secretly switched them back when she wasn't looking.
  • Big Brother Bully: to Albertha, who reveals this to him when they reunite on Ridonculous Race.
  • The Cameo: The last of the three final bosses for All Stars.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: He ends up winning World Tour.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: After being kicked out of his own alliance in World Tour he pretends to act dumb for a challenge to make himself not seem like a threat to the others.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: His friendship, and eventual relationship, with Dawn makes him become a lot nicer and caring to those around him and he attempts to play fairly without sabotaging his own team.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He has a deep fear of sharks, without even needing to meet Fang.

Staci

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stacisquare.jpg
"My great great great great great great great great..."

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over
Placed in: 45th (TDIDO)

  • Attention Whore: The reason for her being a Compulsive Liar.
  • Compulsive Liar: Same as per canon, she always lies about her relatives inventing everyday things.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to her being a Compulsive Liar the other Total Drama competitors all see her as an annoyance. This leads to her being a Butt-Monkey throughout the series, and never even getting to compete in a later season. This gets deconstructed, when she kidnaps Chris in All Stars and tries to force her way back into the competition, listing everything that has happened to her.
  • Temporarily a Villain: Kidnaps Chris during All Stars, being the main antagonist of “Seek And Ye Shall Find”. Though she stands down peacefully afterwards.

Zoey

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zoeysquare_6.jpg

Competed in: Total Drama Island Do Over, Total Drama Action Do Over, Total Drama All-Stars Do Over
Placed in: 2nd (TDIDO), 12th (TDADO), 18th (TDASDO)

  • Adaptation Expansion: Zoey's "indie chick" persona amounted to an Informed Attribute for most of the canon series, with very few of her interests and life outside of the show being revealed. Do Over makes her indie persona a crucial part of her backstory, as her small town is being replaced with modern trappings and leaving her with fewer places to pursue her passions. She's also revealed to have an interest in acting and a stronger resentment towards jocks.
  • Hidden Depths: As Island progresses, it's revealed that she's fascinated with stage acting and Broadway shows.

Amy

Sammy's snotty, narcissistic identical twin sister.

Competed in: Total Drama Revenge Do Over, Total Drama Ridonculous Race Do Over
Placed: 13th (TDRDO), 13th (TDRRDO)

  • Alpha Bitch: She's a popular, self-centered cheerleader who bullies her sister relentlessly. She even bonds with Taylor in Ridonculous Race over these similar traits.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Compared to cannon where their first episode has her actually KICKING Sammy off her leg hoping she would fall to her death and expressing annoyance when Sammy has a parachute that works. Here she's JUST mean.
  • Hated by All: Not to Scarlett's level, but the cast of Revenge despise her for her abuse towards them.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After reconciling with her sister in Revenge's finale. She's still hateful to people she doesn't like, but she's completely comfortable and caring with her twin.
  • It's All About Me: Though by Ridonculous Race she has grown to actually care about her sister, she is still very narcissistic, to the point that when Sanders rejects Sammy, she takes it personally since they look the same.
  • Ominous Hair Loss: Upon her second elimination in Revenge of the Island, she touch the Marshmallow of Toxic Loserdom, which causes her to lose all her hair. She is distraught to hear this is permanent.

  • Character Development: In Pahkitew she learns that she can't be friends with everyone and, with encouragement from Colton, chews out Trent for using her.

  • Face Death with Dignity: Well, elimination, but both times she's eliminated she winds up singing her signature song to the bewilderment of everyone else.
  • Nice Girl: She's the least violent, most innocent character in the franchise, and everybody else is aghast at how the competition never gets to her like it does to others. The only time she comes close to being mean is when she musically calls out Trent during her elimination.
  • The Pollyanna: She's ridiculously optimistic even in the face of tragedy. Characters like Eva and Colton tend to dislike her for this, with Colton assuming she must be overly privileged to have such a cheerful outlook. However, it becomes clear that this is a coping mechanism for her poor home life.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Is booted out early in TDRDO, but she encourages Harrison to be more open-minded and caring of others.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Her main character trait is her distractability, and usually her downfall. It's stated a few times that she actually has ADHD, though Word of God is vague on whether she actually has it or has erroneously self-diagnosed.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: The flighty, overly excited boke to Noah's stoic, serious tsukkomi. This mellows out as their relationship progresses and they're nicer to one another.
  • Child by Rape: Implied when she thinks Colton is her brother, as his father was convicted of sexual assault and Abigail's mother left the army to have Abigail.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: She's very flighty, and nothing in her head is on topic. In "Rapa-Phooey," this is visualized with her Easter Island head being full of random objects.
  • Disappeared Dad: She doesn't know her birth dad, being raised by a stepdad instead. This is one given reason why she and Colton could be related.
  • Everything's Cuter with Kittens: She has a kitten on her shirt to emphasize her perky nature.
  • Expy: Of Mabel, with a cozy sweater, brown hair, and overally perky nature.
  • Genki Girl: Incredibly peppy and constantly excitable.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Her main storyline in Island is breaking Noah out of his shell with her own quirky attitude, such as getting him to chase squirrels with her. However, she does get some focus as her own character rather than being a Satellite Love Interest.
  • Narcissist: Downplayed. She's a friendly and perky person, but grows to love being admired by others for her attractiveness.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: She quits in World Tour to save Noah from elimination, to repay him for when he allowed himself to be eliminated in Island to save her.
  • Odd Couple: With Noah. She's outgoing and ditzy, while he's introverted and brilliant.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: One of her signature ways to get Noah to do her bidding is to stare at him with big adorable eyes.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: The bouncy energetic girl to Noah's introverted savvy guy.
  • Shipper on Deck: She supports Sky getting with Colton before learning Sky has a boyfriend, and initially ships Jasmine with Lightning.
  • Single-Episode Handicap: She is temporarily blinded by illness in "One Flu Over the Cuckoos," leading to her accidentally eliminating herself.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: While she's usually very soft-spoken and formal, she's prone to snapping when under a lot of pressure.
    • In Island, she gets into a physical fight with Gwen over their mutual crush on Trent.
    • In Pahkitew, she gives up on playing nice with Trent by delivering a cold "The Reason You Suck" Speech via song, lets out a blood-curdling scream in "Three Zones and a Baby" to unleash all her tension and cause an avalanche, and obliterates all the Chris robots in "Malfunction Junction." Most of this stems from her repressed stress from her relationship. Her elimination is also punctuated by an intense cuss-filled rant.
  • Black and Nerdy: An African-Canadian woman who's very responsible and interested in books and other scholarly endeavors.
  • Characterization Marches On: She was mostly just the tranquil and eloquent Team Mom in Island whose primary purpose was to be in a Love Triangle with Gwen and Trent. Later seasons elaborated upon her perfectionism and severe anxiety.
  • First Girl Wins: She's Trent's first girlfriend in Island and ends up winning him over Gwen. However, she dumps him in Pahkitew Island.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Undergoes a memory wipe in "The Ex-Files." It gets better in the special, "Back to Drama".
  • Love Triangle:
    • She and Gwen compete for Trent's affection in Island.
    • She becomes the object of competition between Trent, her current boyfriend, and Mel, her best friend turned lover, in Pahkitew.
  • Odd Couple: Despite her polite and chaste nature, she ends up dating the brash, inappropriate Mel in Pahkitew, something that surprises everybody in the season.
  • Team Mom: One of Charlotte's defining traits is her caring demeanor, serving as the responsible moral center of the team. She even takes care of the emotionally unstable Mel.
  • Tranquil Fury: Due to her politeness, when she gets angry, it's rarely expressed as anything more than some quiet curt words. However, she can get more intense after a lot of stress.

  • The Dog Bites Back: She rants on Alejandro after realizing that he was using her and caps it off by punching him after insulting her friends, Abigail and Noah.
  • Expy: Her country demeanor is based off Applejack, which is confirmed when she eventually turns into Applejack and goes to Equestria.
  • Fiery Redhead: She's a hot-tempered girl with reddish sandy hair.
  • Flat Character: She doesn't have much personality besides being a farm girl. Felicity even notes that she'll never be relevant despite numerous efforts in the 1st Celebrity Manhunt.
  • Graceful Loser: Has no problems with her eliminations and accepts her losses, even though she was sabotaged in one of them.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: She wants a guy to like her for her instead of avoiding her because of her tomboy personality.
  • Odd Friendship: The loud and happy Felicity is friends with the silent and gloomy Will.
  • Precision F-Strike: Like Lindsay from canon, she swears at Alejandro when telling him off.
  • Put on a Bus: Goes back to Equestria after turning into Applejack.
  • Tomboy: She's a boyish farm worker. Characters like Alejandro mock her for being so masculine.

  • Catchphrase: He has a tendency to shout "VERMIN!" at the people he dislikes.
  • Character Development: Gets some seriously in All Stars. He goes from being a one-note self-centered character everyone hated who only ever talked about how superior he was to everyone else, to one of the Token Good Teammates of his team and actually start to become a friendlier person that tries to make something of himself.
  • Did Not Get the Girl: He fails to win Leshawna's heart in All Stars.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In All Stars, he goes from a pompous rich dude to a nicer, even philanthropic person.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: He's awful at interaction to the degree his mom almost had him take courses to learn to interact with women.
  • Love Redeems: Part of the reason for his Heel–Face Turn is because of his crush on Leshawna. Though he ultimately fails to get together with her, he still seeks to better himself because of her and remains friends with her. He is also shown to still have a crush on her during "Celebrity Manhunt 2" but keeps it healthy while helping charities.
  • No-Sell: He is unaffected by the Blue Moon making everyone act the opposite of themselves thanks to his sunglasses. But since he didn't want to make Leshawna think he was a nice person he pretended to be under its influence.
  • Only Sane Man: Oddly enough, he becomes one of these in "All Stars" along with Leshawna amidst the constant backstabbing and general villainy of his team, particularly during the Blue Moon challenge.
  • Pet the Dog: Partakes in the group hug with everybody else when B and Bridgette get eliminated without any complaints.

  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: In TDASDO, he gets frequently mocked as a "cheater" due to his illegal alliance with Chef in TDADO, and is placed on the Villainous Vultures because of it despite not being a bad guy otherwise.

  • Badass Biker: She rides up to the contestants in TDADO on her motorcycle and quickly reveals herself to be a tough, confident woman.
  • Betty and Veronica: In the fight for Duncan's affection, she's the brash, sexual, rude Veronica to the chaste, responsible Courtney.
  • Depraved Bisexual: She's violent and hypersexual, stealing other girls' boyfriends away because it gets her hot to see how flustered the girls get. However, she comes out as bisexual during her Character Development, which makes her more moral; before that, she was just Ambiguously Bi.
  • Evil Laugh: Parodied. Her laugh is loud, squeaky, and oinks a little bit.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her lust. She spends her time on World Tour flirting with Duncan and trying to steal him from Courtney. After she succeeds, she quickly gets bored of staying with Duncan and ends up cheating on him with Alejandro. Then in the very next chapter, she cheats on him with his brother Jose. When Duncan and Alejandro call her out on this she acts like it is no big deal, and when the rest of her team finds out about her antics and lack of shame for it, it leads to her being unanimously voted off. She finally overcomes this flaw after getting together with Charlotte.
  • Foil: For Nathaniel (her devilish nature contradicts his angelic one), Charlotte (similar to Nathaniel's case), and Courtney (both having been in a love triangle with Duncan as well as having similar lust/chastity conflict as the other two cases).
  • Funny Conception Story: She claims she was conceived in a mosh pit.
  • Gender-Blender Name: "Mel" is short for Melissa, and she has a brash, "unladylike" attitude.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: She parties a lot and seems quite familiar with alcohol and drugs.
  • Last Girl Wins:
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: A lot of her motivation is sexual, which borders on harassment at times, but she's also a comic character who develops sympathetic traits as the story progresses.
  • Love Triangle: Flirts with Duncan immediately, despite him dating Courtney at the time.
  • The Nicknamer: She has a tendency to nickname people she cares about — Duncan is "Duncy," Izzy is "Iz," and Charlotte is "Char." She also throws out several nicknames for Nathaniel, which tend to be insulting ("Nathani-nope" and "Brat-thaniel"); he tries to come up with mean nicknames for her in turn.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Pretty much no one calls her Melissa, barring a medicated Izzy and Charlotte.
  • Official Couple: First gets with Duncan but ends up with Charlotte.
  • Really Gets Around: She has flirted with a lot of guys throughout her life without shame, but never stays with them too long. It's implied she's incapable of going without coming onto somebody for a long time, touching Scott suggestively without even realizing she's doing so. She does, however, have some standards, as she's not interested in skinny, nerdy boys. She has become an official couple with Duncan, dumped him for Alejandro, then cheated on him with Jose. She tried to flirt with Harrison before finding out he was bisexual and taken, which inspired her to try flirting with girls too, and finally let her get together with Charlotte.
  • Serial Homewrecker: While we only see her break up Duncan and Courtney, she makes it clear that she has a thing for stealing guys away from their girlfriends. Pahkitew Island reveals that this is because she thinks angry girlfriends are hot.
  • Sex Is Evil: The most sexually promiscuous member of the show, and the villain of Season 3.
  • Signature Laugh: A Running Gag is that she has a horrible laugh that sounds like a pig's oink, which several characters point out.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: Her former design had yellow eyes, and she's quite a devious individual. Her later design changed her eyes to brown, and she became a nicer person around that point too.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Even though he's generally a ridiculously nice guy, he and Beth snap and call out their enemies (particularly Mel) in a Cluster F-Bomb during "NASA Nots."
  • Blind Without 'Em: Mel breaks his glasses in "NASA Nots," and he severely struggles with his vision in the next challenge. Somehow, he can't even tell what color Beth's headdress is.
  • Chaste Hero: He's very averse to romance and sex for most of the season, as a contrast to the perpetually-horny Mel. This is subverted once he gets together with Beth, though he still seems uncomfortable with sex, just not romance.
  • Foil: His chastity and kind nature makes him appear as a foil to Mel's sexual brashness. Word of God implies this was part of why Nathaniel was selected to compete.
  • Mistaken for Badass: Heather thinks he's only pretending to be nice to let everybody's guard down, seeing him as a threat. In reality, he's just a very nice guy. This becomes a major plotline from "Greece's Pieces" to "Sweden Sour".
  • Official Couple: Ends up dating Beth by the end of World Tour.

  • Evil Laugh: Displayed one so big that even Max was stunned by it.
  • Morality Pet: For Max. She's one of the few people who Max cares about and is genuinely friends with.
  • Official Couple: With Adam, as the last couple to get together.
  • Pacifist: She prefers not to hurt anyone physically. Unfourtanetly, Alejandro makes her slap him in "Ca-Noodling," which leads to her breaking down.
  • Ship Tease: With Adam and Max. She specifically states that she won't date Max though.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: His father was disbarred and prosecuted for sexual assault and his older sister was killed in Afghanistan. This left Colton cold with a disrespect for authority.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Functions as Brick's phone call to the outside world in season three.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Brick, given that he's a Drill Sergeant Nasty towards his teammates (though only antagonistic for now).
  • Freudian Excuse: The reason he's so rude and anti-authority is because of serious family trauma.
  • Jerkass: He's a rude bully with a bit of a superiority complex.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: After discovering that Abigail is likely his sister, Colton becomes extremely protective and borderline possessive towards her, as his older sister died years ago and he sees this as his chance to start anew. This leads to a rivalry with her boyfriend Noah because Colton doesn't think he's good enough for Abigail. Eventually they reconcile as Colton realizes how much Noah cares for Abigail.
  • Noble Male, Roguish Male: Roguish Male to Brick's Noble Male.
  • Not So Above It All: Even before Harrison gets through to him, he attempts not to be involved in the slapstick, but is easily manipulated by Amy.
  • Official Couple: He eventually gets together with Sky.
  • Trauma Button: Colton clearly has PTSD about his father and his deceased sister, and people bringing up the subject can cause him to lose his train of thought. In "Subzero Heroes," Abigail asking if Colton ever had another sister shocks him into losing his grip and almost falling into a chasm. Later, in "Pahk'd With Talent," Noah snaps at Colton for his possessive behavior towards Abigail, claiming that Colton shouldn't claim to know her just because he just learned she was his sister a few days ago. In response, Colton violently lashes out at Noah, screaming about how he didn't get to know his own sister and Noah doesn't know how it feels to lose a sister and then find out you have another one.

  • Being Evil Sucks: Finds this out once Cheyenne and Max make her feel isolated due to Rodney dropping his feelings for her. She decides to clean up her act and go on the right path.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Downplayed. She causes several eliminations with the help of Tanner and seems to have a fair amount of strategy, but is eliminated by Tanner before the merge.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Downplayed. She's fairly quirky, but is still intelligent and grounded when she chooses to be.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Decides being herself is more fun than being manipulative.
  • Morality Pet: To Tanner in TDRDO and TDRRDO. Tanner can be sarcastic with her, but he truly cares for her.

  • Awesome Aussie: Invoked. He tries to mimic an Australian accent to be taken more seriously as a survivalist, much to Jasmine's chagrin.
  • Better with Non-Human Company: He's not good at socializing with other humans, but is great with animals and nature in general. In fact, most of his interactions with other people involve him blurting out animal facts.
  • Character Development: After being the first boot in TDRDO, he becomes more serious in the Ridonculous Race by focusing on winning and, unlike Izzy, not getting sidetracked by animals.
  • Meaningful Name: Unintentionally, but 'Randy' is Australian slang for someone random with who one does not want to be associated.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: His Australian wilderness survivor persona is based off Steve Irwin. It's heavily implied that Randy's persona was inspired by shows akin to The Crocodile Hunter, but Irwin is never named.
  • No Social Skills: He annoys people without even realizing it due to his exaggerated mannerisms and tendency to blurt out random animal facts.

  • The Chessmaster: Both figuratively and literally. He's a skilled player at chess and playing people.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He becomes completely terrified of Scarlett and he himself declares her pure evil. He also hates Alejandro like everyone else, especially after he makes fun of and diminishes Krystal and her childlike attitude.
  • Official Couple: Winds up with Krystal just before TDRRDO.
  • Pet the Dog: Cheers alongside his team when he hears that Sky got accepted into the Olympics team.
  • Politically Correct Villain: Despite his disdain for the other contestants, he knows not to be homophobic towards Coby.
  • Smug Snake: He's clearly intelligent, but he appears to have a need for a "rival" and someone to brag to, plus is fairly arrogant in general.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Tall? Check. Dark hair and attitude? Check. Handsome and attractive? Check.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Eases up on the others a bit. He works with Coby when competing in Outlast and ends his conflicts with his enemies in TDRRDO. Krystal's influence definitely helped him.

     Other Characters

Mystery Meat

A sentient piece of meat that first appears during Total Drama Island Do Over.

Prince Wallywappawickerton

A pet squirrel that Abigail finds during her tenure on Wawanakwa.

Lindsay Clone

An alien overlord released in the Ex-Files who takes the identity of Lindsay.

Alfonzo

A Mutated frog that appears on Total Drama Revenge of the Island.

  • Ascended Extra: In canon she was just one of the many mutants around the island, only showing up once as a small gag. Here, she serves a much bigger role as a recurring character and ally to Jack.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Appears to give trouble, but is ultimately one of the good mutants.
  • Pet the Dog: Gives Sugar her tiara when she's about to be eliminated.
  • Samus Is a Girl: Revealed in "Eat Puke and Be Wary" when Jack talks to Fang.

Fang

A bipedal shark with a temper, hatched from an egg abducted from Bony Island.

  • Androcles' Lion: He initially hunts down Harrison for having possession of his missing tooth, but when Harrison returns it to him with some help from Jack, Fang instantly becomes friendly to both of them and is willing to ally with Harrison for anything.
  • Berserk Button: As Harrison finds out, don't mess with his teeth.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Depends on whether or not he has to attack, or whether or not you have his sharktooth.

Alice

Chris' mother, who secretly wishes to create a mutant army.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Puts up a facade of being a loving mother and passionate, caring environmentalist, but when she's Chris' mother you can expect that she's cruel — she's willing to kill millions of people just to make a point about the power of nature.
  • The Man Behind the Man: She is Scarlett's adoptive mother and came up with the evil plan Scarlett was pursuing.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Her plan to unleash an army of mutant animals onto the world is pitched with a noble cause of ending wars, befitting her passion for the environment. However, not only is this genocidal effort extreme overkill, this seems to stem more from a desire for power and love due to Chris always leaving her alone.
  • Villainous Mother-Son Duo: Played with. Chris was not aware that Alice was using him to further an evil plan — he let the toxic waste infect the island out of pure apathy, unknowingly helping her end goal of having a mutant army. However, he is quite impressed to learn of her plans, as he loathed when she was just a nice old lady, and this mutual sadism improves their relationship.

CoGreen20

The author of the fanfiction, who occasionally breaks the fourth wall to make appearances.
  • Author Powers: In "Error! Sanity Not Found," they possess Sierra to enter the fanfiction and twist the narrative to inflict trauma onto the characters, including revealing elements of the canon Total Drama to them.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: They possess Sierra instead of revealing their true form because their fleshy real-life body would be too disturbing to the Total Drama characters.
