Characters / Kamen Rider Gotchard Chemies

Go To

This is a partial character sheet for Kamen Rider Gotchard. Subjective trope and audience reactions should go on the YMMV page.

Artificial lifeforms that are born from alchemy. Numbering at 101, each of them holds supernatural power that can easily change the world.

    open/close all folders

    In General
  • Alchemy Is Magic:
    • Besides their ties to the series's portrayal of alchemy as a whole, the Occult class consists of stereotypical supernatural monsters and invokes Clark's Third Law by lumping UFO-X in with them. X Wizard and the Fantastic Chemies also tie into this, as the former is an Evil Sorcerer with a higher degree of intelligence than the other Chemies, and the latter is based on the often-magical creatures and figures from ancient myth and/or their derivations.
    • Unicon is a specific example of this, as its purifying light is explicitly described as Anti-Magic.
  • Birds of a Feather: The Fantastic and Cosmic Chemies' pairings more directly use this trope compared to the other pairings, as both Chemies in each pair directly have something in common.
    • Gigabaham and Kuroana are both associated with darkness.
    • Unicon and The Sun are both associated with light.
    • Firemars and Inphoenix both wield fire, and apparently also enjoy Training from Hell regimens given their antics in the Hyper Battle DVD.
    • Yoacerberus's third head and Neminemoon are both Sleepy Heads.
  • Cosmic Motifs: The Cosmic Chemies are themed after Sol and astral phenomena. Unlike the other Chemies, some of them are also directly named after their motif, as shown with The Sun and Kuroana (which is Japanese for "black hole.")
  • Creating Life Is Unforeseen: #2 reveals that they're living beings created by alchemy by accident.
  • Elemental Powers: As highlighted in the Starshine Hoshino episodes, half of the Cosmic Chemies are themed around the five traditional Chinese elements: fire (Firemars), water (Mercurin), earth (Grandsaturn), wood (Jupitta), and metal (Kinkiravina).
  • Fusion Dance: A Chemy fused (unwillingly) with a human's malice will result in a Malgam. #5 reveals that a Chemy can also fuse with non-malicious humans on their own free will, as shown when Wrestler G fuses with Asahi to create a physical human form of itself.
  • Meaningful Name: Their name is derived from "alchemy".
  • Mon: Little creatures which are powerful sources of alchemical power and that everyone is trying to collect.
  • My Rules Are Not Your Rules: Despite being part of the regular classification system, the Fantastic and Cosmic Chemies disobey several rules used by the other eight categories as a sign of their increased power:
    • All twenty of them are uncontrollable by the Academy's standards, though they can still be captured by alchemists with specific skillsets. Rinne is the first to bring them to heel.
    • Their Level Number 10 Chemies, Dragonalos and Gaiard, do not have an "X" in their names due to being the first two Chemies from which all other Chemies are scaled against and thus existing before this naming scheme was implemented.
    • Additionally, Dragonalos and Gaiard can be used as a regular pair in the Gotchardriver and Alchemisdriver, while also remaining compatible with the Exgotchalibur.
  • No Biological Sex: All Chemies do not have a gender of any sort. Even feminine ones like Odorippa are genderless. That being said, the winter movie villain Chemy X Wizard is referred to with male pronouns.
  • Non-Malicious Monster:
    • Chemies live and act according to their natures, but many are almost animalistic in doing so, recklessly charging through the city and unintentionally causing injury and destruction as they fulfil their purposes.
    • X Wizard is portrayed in the winter movie's trailer as a subversion, as it is shown defecting from the Alchemist's Academy of its own accord and becoming a threat for both Houtarou and the Geats Riders to face without a host.
    • Zukyumpire zig-zags this; his heightened intelligence lets him deliberately conduct schemes that put others in harm's way, but he still lacks the cognizance to recognize what he's doing is in fact harmful.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: The physical appearance of the Chemies vary widely outside of card form, with several of them being "portrayed" by either 2D or CGI models. Some of them, like Hopper1, Wrestler G, Smaphone, and Saboneedle are "portrayed" by physical props (Justified Trope in Wrestler G's case, as it's possessing a wrestling figure in its episode.) Kesuzo, X Wizard, and the Geats-based Chemies are unique as they're the only Chemies so far portrayed by an actual suit actor and puppets respectively. Zukyumpire also joins in on the fun, being portrayed by a live actor in person.
  • Older Is Better:
    • The Ancient Chemies are associated with Gotchard's first upgrade from a narrative perspective (with X-Rex being the starter for the X-Gotchalibur rather than the other six rank 10 Chemies), and were not revealed at the start of the show.
    • Dragonalos and Gaiard, being the first Chemies, are the strongest in the series. All of the other 98 Chemies use them as a baseline to calculate their card levels.
  • Olympus Mons: The rank 10 Chemies and Fantastic and Cosmic Chemies are more powerful and play by different rules than the regular Chemies. (Even more so Dragonalos and Gaiard, which belong to both groups.)
  • Only the Chosen May Ride:
    • Due to their power and strength of will, Level Number 10 Chemies cannot be controlled like normal Chemies. They are capable of breaking out of Chemy Rise Cards on their own and are powerful threats when provoked. Thus harnessing their power depends entirely on befriending them rather than subjugating them.
    • The Fantastic and Cosmic Chemies are similarly uncontrollable, though it's left unclear if this is for the same reasons as the normal Level Number 10 Chemies. However, the fact that they only produce generic sounds in the Gotchardriver indicates something prevents Houtarou specifically from using their full potential, requiring the Alchemisdriver to make full use of them.
  • Planimal: The aptly-named Plant-type Chemies are based on plant life itself, like Flayrose, Happyclover and Xeggdrasil.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Some small Chemies are really strong and formidable.
  • Pokémon Speak: They tend to repeat their names as their speech.
  • Power Levels: The level numbers on each Chemy card are meant to be this, but initially appeared to be arbitrary until #26, whereupon it is revealed these numbers are calculated by comparing a Chemy's strength to Dragonalos and Gaiard.
  • These Are Things Man Was Not Meant to Know: Played with. The general attitude of Alchemists toward Chemies ranges from viewing them as simply living tools, to believing Chemies were never meant to exist.
    • Level Number 10 Chemies dial this up to eleven. Alchemical Society considers them the most powerful of existences, and they even acknowledge their sheer power and wilfulness with an Alchemical Law: "Level 10 Chemies cannot be subjugated or controlled." Note the phrasing "cannot" as opposed to "should not;" they believe it to be an existential impossibility rather than a taboo. However, this view never considered the possibility of befriending them, and Sabimaru believes that if anyone can do it, Houtarou can.
    • There is some opposition to this view, although the extent of it is unknown.
      • Rinne's father, Fuga Kudo, viewed Chemies as worth protecting to the extent that he betrayed the Alchemist Academy to do so. He also seemed to value them as individuals, since he trusted Hopper1 and Steamliner to choose the one who would inherit the Gotchardriver and abode by their decision despite just meeting Houtarou and knowing virtually nothing about him.
      • Minato seems to treat the Chemies at least as living beings. He took Golddash out for a ride simply because the Chemy desired it, with no actual reason other than to indulge Golddash. He also acknowledges Apparebushido as having a "difficult" personality, which one would not normally attribute to a tool.
      • Sabimaru considers the Chemies as unique creatures. Even in #9, he's shown playing with Steamliner.
      • Houtarou straight-up views the Chemies as his friends and equals. He acknowledges their thoughts and feelings, and his dream is to see Humans and Chemies live together in peace.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: They're really adorable, huggable little creatures. Case in point, Hopper1 being an adorable grasshopper who breakdancing at Hotaro's humming in #3!
  • Victim of the Week: Certain Chemies wind up becoming Malgrams by way of human malice or golden dolls, requiring Hotarou, Rinne or Supana to save them by defeating their host.

Insect-type

    Hopper1/CrossHopper

Voiced by: Misato Fukuen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgo_hopper1_artwork.png
Hopper!
Level Number: 1 (As Hopper1)/10 (As CrossHopper)
Gotchanko Chemy: Steamliner
Motif: Grasshopper
The very first Chemy Houtaro meets who later became one of his partners as Gotchard.
  • Badass Adorable: Already adorable at being a cute grasshoper Chemy, it becomes badass upon transforming into CrossHopper and aided Platina Gotchard in defeating Geryon in #27.
  • Berserk Button: Do not say that Chemies are meant to be subjugated and used as tools within earshot. It attacks Supana for that very reason.
  • Bishōnen Line: Becomes more humanoid upon its evolution into CrossHopper.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Uses Houtarou's "Gotcha" when it briefly talks
  • Childhood Friends: Hopper1 has already met and befriended Hotaro many years ago when Hotaro was still a child. Hopper1 remembers this, but Hotaro does not.
  • The Chooser of the One: It chooses Hotaro to become Gotchard due to his bravery and kindness. #14 adds another layer in that Hopper1 was childhood friends with Houtaro and wanted to be with him again.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Like Houtarou, Hopper1 appears in the Geats' summer movie in CGI form before jumping into the blank Chemy card to allow Gotchard to transform into his SteamHopper form, and the previous series' final episode in Chemy card form being chased (unsuccessfully) by Hotaro.
  • Expy: Word of God reveals that Hopper1 was designed as an homage to Berry, a mystical being in Kamen Rider J who appeared as a grasshopper.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: CrossHopper, the Mid-Season Upgrade, is primarily golden colored in appearance.
  • Irony: Initially hating being stuffed into Hotaro's bag, Hopper1 decides to stow away for the Kyoto trip by consciously doing the exact same thing.
  • Little Stowaway: Ends up sneaking into Hotaro's backpack for the Kyoto trip.
  • Made of Iron: In episode 9, Hopper1 winds up Taking the Bullet from the Dragonfly Malgram in card form. Despite this, the Chemy doesn't even look phased even as Hotarou removes the offending projectile from it.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: The Level 10 Chemies granted it their powers to transmute itself into CrossHopper.
  • Once an Episode: If an episode starts in the Ichinose restaurant, expect Hopper1 to be hopping around and enjoying itself.
  • Running Gag:
    • It has a habit of popping up out of hiding when it's least convenient for Hotaro, usually when he's around ordinary people who he's supposed to keep the existence of Chemies a secret from.
    • Hotaro always has to shove Hopper1 away so it can't be seen.
  • Shipper on Deck: Ships Kajiki and Hijiri, even wanting to pop out of Hotaro's pocket to get a look at them.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: In #24, nothing screams things have just gone to shit than your mascot being sucked into a black hole and into the hands of the enemy.
  • Suddenly Shouting: In #1, Hopper1 lets out a massive ear-piercing cry (inside Hotaro's backpack) that draws the attention of Rinne and Steamliner.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Briefly talks in #27 through Sabimaru's broken tablet to confirm its determination to escape from Geryon's grasp and assure him that it — along with the other Chemies — heard his Rousing Speech loud and clear.
  • Token Mini-Moe:
    • Hopper1 is the most prominent of the Chemies in the series, and in addition to being the size of a housecat is behind much of the show's adorable moments. It's basically settled into the role of the Team Pet, which Hotaro doesn't bother with complaining about.
    • During Episode 11, Rinne, Sabimaru, and Renge seem to have more or less accepted Hopper1 as part of the team rather than a useful object to be used, smiling warmly at its excited antics at having so many new friends after the team celebrates their capture of a large number of Chemies.

  • Japanese Beetle Brothers: It's a Chemy based on a stag beetle.

  • Thinking Up Portals: Its main power is to conjure up teleportation portals that lead from one place to another. This makes it crucial to Geryon's plan to capture all of the Kitchen Ichinose Alliance's Chemies.

    Tricera

Voiced by: Yu Shimamura

Level Number: 8
Gotchanko Chemy: Catchula
Motif: Triceratops

  • Noodle Incident: The Cold Open of episode 22 reveals Hotarou and Rinne captured it offscreen while dressed as cowpokes. This is never elaborated upon.
  • Temper-Ceratops: A Chemy based on a Triceratops.

    Blizzammoth

Voiced by: Seiichirō Yamashita

Level Number: 9
Gotchanko Chemy: Carery
Motif: Mammoth

    X-Rex

Voiced by: Kenta Miyake

Level Number: 10
Gotchanko Chemy: N/A
Motif: T-Rex

  • Cool Crown: Wears an X-shaped one on its nose, which translates to one for Super Gotchard himself.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Eats people, but not for food. They are stored safely in X-Rex's stomach so he can read their memories.
  • Red Is Heroic: Predominately crimson-colored and part of the X-Gotchalibur's starting arsenal.
  • Terrifying Tyrannosaur: A T-Rex that serves as the level 10 Chemy of the Ancient category.
  • Transferable Memory: It can recover the memories of people it swallows whole, including memories they might have repressed or memories subject to Laser-Guided Amnesia, such as memories of Chemies sealed by the Alchemist Union.

Occult-type

Level Number: 1
Gotchanko Chemy: Blizzammoth
Motif: Fairy

    Berosol

Voiced by: Kiyotaka Taguchi

Level Number: 2
Gotchanko Chemy: Buglesia
Motif: Kasa-obake

    Angelead

Voiced by: Misato Fukuen

Level Number: 4
Gotchanko Chemy: Warptera (regular)/Gekiocopter (Burst)
Motif: Angel

  • Holy Halo: Angelead has 5 halos: one atop its head, one on each ankle, and one on each wrist.
  • Irony: Almost everything about this Chemy (namely the design and voice) is feminine, yet almost everything using it is in one way the epitome of masculinity (the Angel Malgam has a clearly deep male voice, its Gotchanko partner is Warptera, one of the least visibly feminine of the Chemies, and its first Rider usage is by Valvarad, who is the most masculine of the main heroic Riders).
  • Light Is Good: A holy, angelic Chemy, and like other Chemies, it's a Non-Malicious Monster.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Gives Valvarad a bow weapon when called upon. It fires arrows of light.

    Zukyumpire

Portrayed by: Jyutaro Yamanaka

Level Number: 5
Gotchanko Chemy: Saberliger
Motif: Vampire

  • Ambiguously Evil: He is draining the life out of people, but he shows visible concern when one of his groupies suddenly collapses. He also claims that what he's trying to do is "save" people. #23 reveals he's telling the truth and he's just trying to make others happy.
  • Badass Longcoat: Wears an elegant set of stereotypical vampire robes.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: He's a vampire with a Life Drain ability, but he's a genuinely nice man who wants to make the world happy, and is unaware that his zukyun is a Life Drain to begin with. When he's combined with Gotchard, he can use this power to charm Chemies, preventing the Saber Mantis Malgam from attacking cause their components are too enamored to fight back.
  • Bishōnen: Despite being a Chemy, Zukyumpire has the form of a handsome young man.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Zukyun" is what he says when he charms a target.
  • Character Tics: Alongside his catchphrase, he gives a Finger Gun with a wink and tilt of his head.
  • Charm Person: Those who get hit with a Zukyun fall for him immediately. This also extends to Chemies.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's a vampire Chemy dressed in dark colors, but like the rest of the Chemies, he's a Non-Malicious Monster who only aims to make people happy. Only problem is, his zukyuns are actually powerful Life Drains.
  • Demonic Possession: He can possess someone if his masks latches onto someone's head.
  • Dissonant Serenity: All of its promotional images show it remaining completely emotionless in the face of danger, tossing an Aside Glance to the Kitchen Alliance holding it at gunpoint with their Chemy Risers and having no reaction to its partner Saberliger being corrupted.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: His Establishing Character Moment involves him being followed by, and then himself charming, his own groupies. Said groupies consist of women and men, including Kajiki.
  • Everyone Has Standards: In the midst of his groupies following him, one of them suddenly collapses, which Zyukumpire shows concern for. While he is charming people for his own plans, he does show concern for others.
  • Foreshadowing: Zyukumpire showing concern when one of his groupies, later named Yua Yamashita, suddenly collapses. It's a hint that he's not a bad guy after all.
  • For Happiness: The reason he's zukyun-ing people is because he's trying to achieve world peace by making humanity happy. Unfortunately, he doesn't actually realize the truth behind his zukyuns until the heroes point this out to him. His desires to truly make people smile is what breaks him out of Clotho's chains.
  • Giving Someone the Pointer Finger: He likes to point at others, pointer finger and thumb out.
  • Good All Along: He really had good intentions in making others happy, just had no idea how his actions would've played out.
  • Heart Symbol: Befitting being a Charm Person, he has a prominent heart motif from the symbol on his card to his Zukyun nuke being heart shape.
  • Hu Mons: An even more blatant case of this than X Wizard, as Zukyumpire takes the form of a sharp-dressed Bishōnen with realistic proportions. Originally, no one but Hopper was even aware he was a Chemy.
  • Image Song: "Kimi ni Zukkyun"
  • Inseries Nickname: Yua calls him "Prince Zukyumpire".
  • Life Drain: He charms people only to drain the life out of them. #23 reveals he actually didn't know his charms could actually do this until the other characters point this out to him.
  • Mirror Character:
    • Isaac notes that he's the complete opposite of Wrestler G. Whereas Wrestler G was a benevolent Chemy who fused with Asahi in order to help fight Gorilla Malgam, Zyukumpire can fuse with others as well by having his mask latch onto someone's head but only uses the hosts for his own self interests (which was a benevolent goal to make everyone happy but unaware this was via Life Drain). Wrestler G was portrayed as an action figure, while Zyukumpire uses a human actor.
    • Also is one of X-Wizard, a humanoid Chemy who conduct schemes for its own amusement. However, while X-Wizard actively went against the Alchemist's Academy before a Heel–Face Turn, Zyukumpire was always good, but just didn't know that his Zyukuns were dangerous. While X-Wizard is essentially a Toku-standard monster voiced by a woman, Zykumpire has a live male actor.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When he learns what his zukyuns actually do to people, especially to Yua, he falls to his knees as he realizes his mistake.
  • Mythology Gag: Wears a golden mask with red eyes as a hair clip; its shape and color profile is similar to that of Kiva Emperor.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: The blasted thing is portrayed by a live actor without the Toku-standard suit, which is as far from digital graphics as you can get in this franchise.
  • Obliviously Evil: His end goal in #23 reveals is that he wants to make a mega Zukyun nuke to make everyone on Earth happy...except he's doing so by unknowingly draining the life force out of his groupies.
  • Pokémon Speak: Zig-zagged example. A flashback in #23 shows that he was only really capable of doing this until he emerged into his current humanlike form. Said humanlike form also apparently gave him sentience and sapience too. Even able to retain it in card form.
  • Romantic Vampire Boy: Downplayed. Zyukumpire is a vampire Chemy and a romantic, but he doesn't become the love interest of Yua. Instead gives her the strength to find her own happiness.
  • Tea Is Classy: Drinks a cup of tea while being fawned over by his groupies.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Like X Wizard, it possesses human-level intelligence and uses this to knowingly conduct schemes that put others in harm's way. However, his focus episodes imply that he's not doing this out of malice but what he believes will save humanity by making everyone happy, and when he realizes the truth behind his zukyuns, he's genuinely remorseful.
  • Vampires Are Sex Gods: Its other defining trait is being a Charm Person (as indicated by the heart in its card art), and has the looks to back it up.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Subverted. He has silver hair and charms people for his own plans to save humanity and is horrified at how he's draining the life force out of others to do so.

    Daiohni

Motif: Oni

    Mackraken

Voiced by: Tsubasa Yonaga

Level Number: 7
Gotchanko Chemy: Bambamboo
Motif: Kraken

    Jyamatanoorochi

Voiced by: Taito Ban

Level Number: 8
Gotchanko Chemy: Kesuzo (regular)/Gutsshovel (Burst)
Motif: Yamata-no-Orochi

  • Dark Is Not Evil: The Orochi is typically portrayed as a major antagonist. While the Orochi Malgam does serve as a major Monster of the Week, the Chemy it is based on isn't malicious in any way.
  • Multiple Head Case: It's got eight heads like its mythical inspiration. Fittingly enough, its Chemy Level Number is indeed Level 8.
  • Orochi: Its motif, eight heads and all.

    Ninetail

Voiced by: Takaya Aoyagi

Level Number: 9
Gotchanko Chemy: Happyclover
Motif: Kyūbi-no-kitsune

    UFO-X

Voiced by: Soichiro Hoshi

Level Number: 10
Gotchanko Chemy: N/A
Motif: Flying Saucer

  • Big Fun: Implied; while it is described as one of the most powerful Chemies, the same text that mentions this also puts equal emphasis on how it's shaped Kajiki's interactions with Houtarou and Hijiri in #9 and #10.
  • Casting Gag: Soichiro Hoshi was previously the seiyuu for Andros in the Japanese dub of Power Rangers in Space, another major space-themed tokusatsu character.
  • Clark's Third Law: Despite being space-themed and therefore sounding like it should be in the Universe category, UFO-X is instead placed in the Occult category since aliens are a type of urban legend.
  • Damsel out of Distress: Manages to free itself from the Dark Sisters' grasp following its capture in the prior episode.
  • The Dividual: It's actually three identical Flying Saucers connected by wires.
  • Flying Saucer: A stereotypical one with Rider-like eyes on top, complete with it firing laser beams.
  • Foreshadowing: #9 begins with a UFO sighting, which Kajiki tells Houtarou about. UFO-X is confirmed to be the cause one episode later.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Has gold accents and a chrome finish, and is the Occult category's rank 10 Chemy. Promotional material also states that it will eventually grow to be the strongest standard Chemy.
  • Red String of Fate: Described in promotional material as the UFO sighting that brought Kajiki and Hijiri together.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Wears two half-cloaks that resemble Gotchard's own Alchemy Muffler. This is the part that fuses to Gotchard once Super Gotchard is activated with the X-Gotchalibur.
  • Thinking Up Portals: It can create wormhole-esque portals to travel through.

Fantastic-type

    Gigabaham

Voiced by: TBA

Level Number: 1
Gotchanko Chemy: Kuroana
Motif: Bahamut

  • Blow You Away: Despite its dark appearance, its actual powers take the form of wind manipulation.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: A shadow dragon that's no less helpful than all the other Chemies Houtarou and Rinne have captured.
  • Sadly Mythtaken: Rather than the fish that held aloft the world, Gigabaham is based on a mishmash of pop culture depictions portraying Bahamut as a dragon god, extending to its wind powers.

    Unicon

Voiced by: Ayasa Itō

Level Number: 3
Gotchanko Chemy: The Sun
Motif: Unicorn

  • Anti-Magic: Its light is used to cleanse places of magic, which is a crucial aspect of Rinne's kit as Majade. Once supercharged with The Sun's heat, it immediately emits a pulse through Majade strong enough to instantly disintegrate a giant Jyamato horde.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Fills the same “cute Non-Human Sidekick who won’t stay hidden” clique for Rinne that Hopper1 does for Houtarou.
  • Mechanical Horse: Its spiked 24-Hour Armor makes it look a bit like a machine.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Has a European knight as its secondary motif, clad in regal armor.
  • Light Is Good: Paired off with The Sun, and wears a suit of light-themed armor itself.
  • Vocal Dissonance: It has a majestic, knightly appearance, which makes it all the more surprising when its voice turns out to be in the same register as Hopper1. For added irony, its partner, The Sun, shares Hopper1's actress, yet is the one with the deeper voice.

    Yoacerberus

Voiced by: Kazuya Ichijō

Level Number: 6
Gotchanko Chemy: Neminemoon
Motif: Cerberus

  • Hellhound: A Cerberus Chemy.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: Each of its three heads is colored differently and each breathes a different element. This is the primary ability it provides to those borrowing its power.
  • Meaningful Name: Contains the pronunciation of the Japanese word for "dawn" ("yoake," 夜明け), contrasting Neminemoon being, well, the Moon.
  • Sleepy Head: Its third head is sleeping in its card art and is evidently the dominant personality in Gotchard MoonCerberus, with a sleep mask forming its Punk Rider Goggles. The Alchemisdriver also calls MoonCerberus the "Three-Headed Sleeper."

    Dragonalos

Voiced by: Shintarō Asanuma

Level Number: 10
Gotchanko Chemy: Gaiard
Motif: Dragon

  • Crystalline Creature: Made entirely out of prismatic crystal shards.
  • Dragons Are Divine: It's a dragon that serves as the Fantastic category's Level Number 10 Chemy, and is powerful enough to break the rules that it would normally have to abide by when used in a driver. It is also one of the two "Ancestral Chemies," together with Gaiard.
  • Odd Name Out: Like Gaiard, it's one of two Level 10 Chemies without the letter X in their names, incorporating it into their designs instead. This is because they're the two "Ancestral Chemies" that inspired the Level 10 nomenclature.

Cosmic-type

    Mercurin

Voiced by: Reiyo Matsumoto

Level Number: 1
Gotchanko Chemy: Donposeidon
Motif: Mercury

  • Cool Shades: Like Firemars, it appears to be wearing the arrow in its design as a gigantic pair of goggles, giving off the effect of resembling Gotchard's visor but acting more like its Punk Rider Goggles.
  • Irony: Subverted; while its water theming may seem a bit odd for a Chemy based on the extremely-hot Mercury, this is because of the planet's Japanese name, Suisei ("water star.")

    Kinkiravina

Voiced by: Oto Abe

Level Number: 2
Gotchanko Chemy: Gingriffon
Motif: Venus

    Neminemoon

Voiced by: Taito Ban

Level Number: 4
Gotchanko Chemy: Yoacerberus
Motif: The Moon

  • Meaningful Name: A portmanteau of the words "sleep" ("nemuri," 眠り), "good" ("ine," いね), and "moon," meaning its name literally translates to "sleep good, Moon" — or perhaps more colloquially, Good Night Moon.
  • Sleepy Head: Like its Gotchanko partner Yoacerberus, it's shown to be rather sleepy. It even both catches Zs and breathes out Snot Bubbles to complete the picture.

    Firemars

    Grandsaturn

Voiced by: Takaya Aoyagi

Level Number: 6
Gotchanko Chemy: Vanfenrir
Motif: Saturn

    The Sun

Voiced by: Ryōta Ōsaka

Level Number: 7
Gotchanko Chemy: Unicon
Motif: The Sun

  • Cartoon Creature: Unlike other Chemies, The Sun really is just a cartoon sun, so it's less of a coherent, recognizable being and more of an orange sphere with patterns inscribed into its surface.
  • Conjoined Eyes: Sees out of the chevron portion of the arrow in its design, like a visor. Unlike most Chemies, this part of it fuses directly to Gotchard, forming SunUnicorn's Punk Rider Goggles.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": A Chemy based on the Sun named "The Sun."
  • Energy Being: A living reservoir of perpetual energy.
  • Mundane Utility: It's a source of infinite thermal energy, so Majade uses it as a normal battery for Unicon's powers, as well as an impromptu flashbang when in the Chemy Riser.
  • Your Size May Vary: When used by Rinne to transform, it's about the size of an oversized beach ball. In the Chemy Riser, it's the size of a basketball. In The Sun's Parallel Rare artwork, it is large enough to dwarf Unicon several times over.

    Jupitta

Level Number: 8
Gotchanko Chemy: Macentaurus
Motif: Jupiter

    Kuroana

Level Number: 9
Gotchanko Chemy: Gigabaham
Motif: Black Hole

    Gaiard

Voiced by: Katsuyuki Konishi

Level Number: 10
Gotchanko Chemy: Dragonalos
Motif: The Earth

  • Natural Elements: Represents the classical four elements of alchemy, with water & fire hands, wind currents forming its Gotchard-like face, and its representation of the Earth itself for the element.
  • Nobody Here but Us Statues: According to the show producers, Gaiard escaped detection for as long as it did by hiding in an environmental science museum, where its appearance would be more inconspicuous.
  • Odd Name Out: Like Dragonalos, it's one of two Level 10 Chemies without the letter X in their names, incorporating it into their designs instead. This is because they're the two "Ancestral Chemies" that inspired the Level 10 nomenclature.

Repli-type

    In General
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: When Dread sacrifices them, their minds are sucked out into its helmet and merged with its current user, and their corpses are torn apart into new weapons for it.
  • Expendable Clone: Evil Knockoffs of the original Chemies that make Kamen Rider Dread's consumption of them less disturbing, since it's not the originals being devoured.
  • Red Shirt: They're clones of the original 101 that exist solely to be sacrificed to the DreadDriver.

    Repli-Steamliner

Voiced by: Nobuyuki Hiyama

A dark clone of Steamliner used to access Dread Type-Zero.

  • Actor Allusion: While not the most defining part of such roles, the voice actor for its basis, Nobuyuki Hiyama, has had his fair share of run-ins with dark copies of train-themed characters.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: It sounds like the normal Steamliner if it were an undead zombie.
  • Foreshadowing: Repli-Steamliner wears a European knight's visor. The real Steamliner later becomes Tenliner, which adopts the same secondary motif for itself and Iron Gotchard.
  • Uniformity Exception: The other Dark-type Chemies are simply just evil recolors. Repli-Steamliner, however, has an additional physical difference from the normal Steamliner; it wears a set of visors not unlike those of a European knight.

    Repli-Unicon and Repli-Daiohni

Repli-Unicon voiced by: Ayasa Itō
Repli-Daiohni voiced by: TBA

  • Black Knight: Repli-Unicon is a dark copy of the light-themed Unicon, wearing a blackened, slightly-altered version of the original's armor.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Every time a user transforms into Kamen Rider Dread Type-One or Type-Three, it shows Repli-Unicon trying to run away, only to be grabbed by a giant hand and effortlessly crushed to make bright white unicorn themed armor covering their left side. Likewise for Repli-Daiohni for Type-Two and Type-Three, except it's a giant Oni head that gets crushed instead to form red Oni like armor for their right side.
  • Uniformity Exception:
    • Like Repli-Steamliner, Repli-Daiohni has an extra detail Daiohni lacks, wearing pieces of red samurai armor over its left side.
    • Repli-Unicon has different leg armor from Unicon, as well as an Evil Mask that resembles Zukyumpire's hair clip.

Daybreak-type

    In General
These fire-empowered versions of the Chemies are used by Kamen Rider Gotchard Daybreak, which in conjunction with the Gotcha Igniter gives him vastly-improved stats over Gotchard's use of the same combos. Unlike Houtarou and the normal Chemies, all 100 of their counterparts have been captured by Gotchard Daybreak, and have been for a long time.
  • The Ace: Daybreak Golddash is literally described as having no equal as an individual.
  • Cool Bike: Daybreak Golddash serves as Gotchard Daybreak's mount the same way the original does for Houtarou, though exponentially more powerful and confident than the present Golddash.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Pun aside, all 100 of them are in Gotchard Daybreak's custody and are fiercely loyal to him, having fought by his side for countless battles. As the Gotchardriver is powered by The Power of Friendship, this also increases the strength of each Chemy exponentially, with Daybreak Bulletbaang and Daybreak Apparebushido being able to instantly damage the enlarged Orochi Malgam once loaded in Gotchard Daybreak's weapons.
  • Future Badass: In a sense; they're meant to be reflections of what the original Chemies will become through experiences Houtarou has yet to encounter.
  • Grew a Spine: Daybreak Golddash is described as having acquired enough power and confidence through its upgraded Gold Heart Engine to become its own individual, compared to the state of the modern-day Chemies.

The 101st Chemy (unmarked spoilers)

    Nijigon

Voiced by: TBA

Level Number: EX
Gotchanko Chemy: N/A
Motif: Rainbow

  • Cybernetic Mythical Beast: Has a semi-mechanical appearance and resembles Gotchard, itself a Cyborg of sorts.
  • Rank Inflation: In the toyline, its cards are "NR" rarity (as in "Nijigon Rare"), and the "RR" ("Rainbow Rare") rarity is introduced with it for other cards themed after Nijigon's base art. This is on top of the rarity system introduced thus far, which previously capped at PR/PL ("Parallel Rare/Legend.")
  • Readings Are Off the Scale: It's a Level EX Chemy that takes up two cards in the Gotchardriver, indicating its level surpasses Majade GaiaDragon and Valvarad UFOFighter by itself.
  • Super Mode: It is the Chemy that activates Gotchard's final form, Rainbow Gotchard.
