The founder and manager of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P). An energetic but incompetent boss, Blitzo tries to motivate his employees to do a better job, but his methods leave a lot to be desired. The "o" in his name is silent. At least, it is now.

• Abhorrent Admirer: He's notable for being on both ends of this at once.
  • As the admirer: He veers into this territory in his relationship with Moxxie and Millie. He stalks them outside of work and invades their home constantly, much to Moxxie's outrage. He's also really, REALLY into the idea of having a threesome with the couple. What keeps it from being a straight example is that Millie doesn't seem to mind too much (and even Moxxie's reaction is more simple annoyance than discomfort) and, despite their antagonism, Moxxie still has a few moments where he's shown to genuinely care about his boss.
  • As the admiree: Blitzo has his own Abhorrent Admirer in the form of Stolas, albeit one that has been heavily downplayed since the pilot. "Truth Seekers" reveals that Blitzo is desperately, painfully starved for any affection or intimacy, which complicates their relationship. "OZZIE’S" also shows that even Blitzo has his limits, refusing an advancement from Stolas to come inside, causing some Dramatic Irony from the audience being shown that Stolas is starting to feel genuine affection.
• Abusive Parents: The pilot claims his dad was an asshole who crushed his dreams, though he was mainly using it to guilt Moxxie. In the main show, when he was a child, his dad sold him to Paimon for five dollars and a slim fit condom, then emotionally manipulated Blitzo into stealing from Stolas to help their family, while implicitly threatening to harm him. His dad also viewed Blitzo as less valuable than his other performers, as he was willing to sell Blitzo for whatever Paimon's butler had in his pocket and even called the price plenty. Blitzo himself simply states that he's got "daddy issues" in "Exes and Oohs", likely because of this upbringing.
• Accidental Murder: "OOPS" heavily implies that his mother was among the people who died in the fire he accidentally started.
• Acquired Poison Immunity: In "Truth Seekers", he recovers from being tranquilized and electrocuted much quicker than Moxxie, which he attributes to all the drugs he took in college and having his nipples hooked up to a car battery at least once.
• Action Hero: He's a little evil for the description, but he is a competent fighter and Fizz even says he's good at "this action hero bullshit."
• Admiring the Abomination: Implied in "Truth Seekers", when Blitzo sees Stolas’ full demonic form, he looks like he’s in awe rather than afraid.
• Affably Evil: Zig-zagged. Blitzo tries to be friendly but, though he'll occasionally succeed, his terrible people skills and baggage means he usually comes off as a petty Jerkass instead.
• Affectionate Nickname:
  • Stolas calls him "Blitzy." Although he clearly doesn't get amused when he's called that in public. See Embarrassing Nickname
  • Calls Moxxie and Mille "M and M".
  • Millie occasionally calls him "B".
• Alliterative Name: Implied. His dad's name is Cash Buckzo, which implies Blitzo's full name is Blitzo Buckzo. This also would mean the last letters of his name are also the same.
• All Girls Like Ponies: Gender-Inverted - Blitzo adores horses. His Instagram account (itself named "blitzorodeo") not only features frequent mentions of Blitzo's horse (see Hellish Horse below), but frequently features doodles of himself riding horses or doodles of horses in general; he possesses a number of horse figurines and plushies (one of which he pulls from his coat pocket near the end of "Murder Family"), and his favorite movie is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. His love of horses is also well known amongst the cast, as Stolas's Instagram has him also sketching Blitzo with horses; and Moxxie's account shows him making Horse-Shaped pasta as a gift for Blitzo, as well as topping food made for Blitzo with horse-shaped decorations. In the episodes proper:
  • "Murder Family" has him briefly pull out a squeaky toy pony out of his coat that he looks at with joy before putting it back.
  • "Spring Broken" mentions him having maxed out Verosika's credit card on horse riding lessons when they were dating, having a list of potential horse names surrounded by several drawing of horses on the company whiteboard ^note Grape Fiesta, Paperclip, Soap Crisis, and 32., and when confronting Loona talking to Vortex he briefly holds up a piece of paper that shows crudely explains that he uses the money from killing people on horses.
  • "C.H.E.R.U.B" has him blow all of their client's advance payment on a jewel-encrusted horse figurine named "Mare-ajuana".
  • He spends a few scenes in "The Harvest Moon Festival" cooing with adoration over Striker's personal Hellish Horse Bombproof.
  • "Truth Seekers" implies that the first thing he did upon getting Stolas' grimoire is to go see Earth horses as his first sighting was him entering a horse pasture.
  • "The Circus" shows he's loved horses since he was a child, and dreamed of making it big so he could buy several horses to name things like 'Stapler' and 'Biscuit Queen'.
• All Take and No Give: How Verosika described their sex life back when they used to date. It’s unclear if she’s talking about the entire relationship or just towards the end when Blitzo was sabotaging things.
• Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Blitzo often takes any opportunity he can to gush over Loona, from speaking to her in baby talk, to trying to cuddle her and often gets Cuteness Proximity around her. Considering Loona is in her twenties at this point she mostly finds the attention annoying (though she shows deep down that she appreciates his affection in her own standoffish way).
• Am I Just a Toy to You?: The source of his enmity with Stolas is that Blitzo sees their relationship as purely transactional. Taken further in "OZZIE'S", when Blitzo refuses to spend the night with Stolas out of a belief that their relationship is entirely sexual and transactional. He's Right for the Wrong Reasons — Stolas does want Blitzo for sex, but as seen in "The Circus" and "Seeing Stars", he's had feelings for Blitzo for quite some time. But because Stolas Cannot Spit It Out — and in fairness, Stolas has been both treating and referring to Blitzo as his plaything, even to the point of making Blitzo uncomfortable — Stolas has made it very hard for Blitzo to think that their relationship anything but sexual. It's confirmed in "OOPS" that Blitzo doesn't believe Stolas would ever want to actually spend time with him without having any ulterior motives in mind, interpreting Stolas' suggestions that they could just talk, or watch a movie, or cuddle as excuses for Stolas to continue an illicit fling with someone of lower status.
• Animal Motifs:
  • Aside from the aforementioned obsession with horses, Blitzo has been shown to act a bit like a cat. The pilot features him waking up Moxxie by sitting on his chest and purring while "C.H.E.R.U.B" at one point shows him watching a would-be victim while swaying his tail from side to side, like a cat getting ready to pounce.
  • He also seems to have a bit of chameleon in him as well, with his body being longer and more reptilian-like than Moxxie or Millie, and having a prehensile tongue that he can use to grab things (namely a dog treat Loona turned down). He also has a penchant for climbing - almost slithering - up larger folks to meet them eye to eye, or just for a combat advantage.
• Archaic Weapon for an Advanced Age: Despite having access to far more advanced weaponry, his weapon of choice is a flintlock pistol. Blitzo isn’t above making modifications though, as he shot multiple people in "Seeing Stars" without reloading, ^note Flintlock firearms are single shot weapons which is muzzle loaded, a process which Blitzo showed parts of in "C.H.E.R.U.B". which in season 1 forced him to quickly switch to other weapons after the first shot if he was in battle.
• Arrow Catch: Catches a ricocheting crossbow arrow mid-flight in "Murder Family". More impressive is that he did it without looking at it, and acted like it was no more effort than plucking a slice of bread from a countertop.
• Awesome, but Impractical: Blitzo owns a flintlock pistol with an engraved grip and barrel as his main weapon. It has been shown to pack a powerful punch, as it can destroy televisions in a single shot, but after that one strong shot it requires a long and complicated process to reload.
• Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other:
  • "Love" is pushing it, but "Truth Seekers" reveals that it's not all one-sided between himself and Stolas. For the first time, he initiates the flirting with Stolas, and has no problems making out with him after Stolas rescues him and his employees. Even so, that same episode shows him viewing Stolas as a figure that drags him in with gilded chains.
  • "Truth Seekers" focuses on the relationship between Blitzo and Moxxie and how, for all of their bickering and teasing, they really consider each other friends and know they can rely on the other when things get serious. Blitzo's drug trip in particular shows that he is actually terrified that he might go too far and drive Moxxie away.
  • In a much more bitter version of this trope, his reaction to being shamed and to the pictures on his phone in "OZZIE'S" and his Mushroom Samba sequence in "Truth Seekers", heavily implies that he really does and/or did have affection for Verosika, Fizz, and Stolas, but his own insecurities and "fear of being loved" caused him to push them away or fail to requit their feelings until the relationships themselves soured.
• Ax-Crazy: Blitzo is as murder-happy as all get-out, but he at least limits his carnage to his assigned targets or those who attack him and his employees first. However, when his Trauma Button regarding Loona's adoption is pressed, he goes postal and starts killing people indiscriminately.
• Badass Longcoat: He always wears a tattered greatcoat on the job, in the pilot he specifically draws attention to it.
• Bag of Holding: "Blitzø's Emergen-c Bag", which has numerous pistols, shotguns, sub-machine guns, a Hell-technology Assault Rifle that seemingly shoots energy bolts, a serrated knife, a spiked-bat, grenades, a massive bazooka called "My Dick" that is several times bigger than Blitzo, which fires a rocket labeled "Pussy Destroyer", and a sports bottle of water.
• Bald of Authority: Blitzo is the imp equivalent of bald and is also the manager of I.M.P, much to his coworkers' chagrin as he's prone to make crazy decisions that may very well affect them all negatively.
• Bald Head of Toughness: A variant, although Blitzo has been bald since he was a child, he is quite durable and persevering as an adult, an example this being how much faster he shrugs off the effects of the tranquilizers than Moxxie did in "Truth Seekers" (Blitzo himself attributes this partly to the large amount of tranquilizers he took in college), despite being hit by them after Moxxie was.
• Bald of Evil: Not a hair on his head and he’s almost completely devoid of morals.
• Benevolent Boss: Some off-putting habits aside, Blitzo truly cares for his employees and thinks of them as family. In "Loo Loo Land", he takes the first shift of bodyguarding Stolas, and encourages Moxxie and Millie to have some fun at the titular amusement park in the meantime. In addition, while he was already mad about her stealing his parking spot and setting up in an office directly across from his, the last straw that causes him to challenge Verosika to a Demon Duel is her and her employees harassing/molesting Moxxie. In "Truth Seekers", Blitzo confirms this trope when he explains to Moxxie that the only reason he's hard on him is because he knows how good the guy is at his job, and wants him to stop worrying about what others are going to think about said job because he's good at it and Blitzo wants him to be proud of his work.
• Beware the Silly Ones: Blitzo is... out there. However, he's still the ruthless head of an assassination company, and he isn't afraid of getting his own hands dirty. Showcased especially well when he fights Striker hand to hand at the end of the fifth episode and not only ragdolls his larger opponent with only his tail, but punches a hole through a wall with zero effort. He's also extremely intelligent when he bothers to apply himself, able to quickly assess his situation and form complex strategies on the fly.
• Big Brother Instinct:
  • Possibly inverted as it hasn't been stated whether Blitz is the older or younger twin. Regardless, the first thing he does upon learning Barbie got out of rehab without telling him is to frantically search for her. And when he finally does catch up with her, he makes an effort to try and reconnect with her by inviting her to dinner.
  • Upon patching things up with Fizzarolli, Blitzo is shown to be highly protective of him, just like when they were kids, driving off potential threats and very unpleasant fans in addition to provide support and reassurance to his old friend.
• Bigger Is Better in Bed: "Loo Loo Land" has Stolas call him "my big-dicked Blitzy". Later in Seeing Stars, Blitz confirms that "[his] dick is good", but not good enough to placate Stolas when Octavia steals the book from the former to go to the human world.
• Birds of a Feather: "Truth Seekers" reveals his relationship with Stolas to be tragically more complicated than just a case of Sex for Services. Apart from the fact that they're both unrepentantly kinky horndogs, they're both deeply love-starved.
• Bizarre Taste in Food: Blitzo happily eats a dog treat when Loona refuses to.
  • He also has eaten cheese with hot sauce. An official source says this is in reference to Blitz’s voice actor snacking on that very thing during one of their early meetings at his apartment.
• Boyfriend-Blocking Dad:
  • In "Spring Broken", he gets significantly angry and annoyed when Loona starts to express interest in Vortex, another hellhound and bodyguard of an ex-girlfriend, and acts like any dad would when his daughter has her first crush. He also refuses to bring Loona on missions because he's aware that there are a lot of people who would lust after her.
    Loona: Is there any chance I could come with you guys this time?
    Blitzo: Absolutely not, I forbid it. Not gonna happen. Sorry, sweetie. Spring Break is no place for young vulnerable goth girls. You know the kind of freaks up there who'd drool all over you.
  • In "Truth Seekers" he has a mild Oh Shit moment when he realizes that Millie wasn't his only rescuer and that Loona came along. He changes his tune when he sees her mowing down D.H.O.R.K.S. agents with ease, and even tells her that he's proud of her.
  • In "Queen Bee", he gets riled up when a male hellhound starts flirting with Loona, angrily growling at the guy to "watch it".
• Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: Blitzo's own father disdained him for being a terrible clown, believing that 5 bucks and a condom was sufficient payment to hire out him as an entertainer for a day. He also emotionally manipulates Blitzo into the dangerous task of stealing from a noble family even though Blitzo was just a kid. In stark contrast, Blitzo as the adoptive father to Loona cherishes her even though she's aggressively terrible at her job as receptionist, to the point where he praises her when she takes her anger out on him. He's also an overprotective dad to her even though as a Hellhound she's more dangerous than him.
• Broken Ace: He's extremely tough and physically strong by imp standards, he runs IMP to relative success, he's a good shot, he's much smarter than he looks, and he's a pansexual Sex God who's managed to attract both Stolas and Verosika... but he also has a truckload of psychological issues, with frequent mood swings, depressive tendencies, a belief that nobody likes him, and a Hair-Trigger Temper.
• Bumbling Dad: Blitzo adores Loona, but his attempts at being affectionate only serve to embarrass or annoy her.
• Calling Me a Logarithm: He's offended when Stolas refers to his grimoire, apparently unaware what that means or that Stolas is referring to the book.
• Casual Danger Dialogue: Blitzo’s reaction to Striker threatening to stab him in the back with a dagger is to complain about how cliché it is in a disappointed tone.
• Ceiling Cling: Blitzo has a habit of doing this when he’s stalking Millie and Moxxie, shown in both an Instagram picture (where Moxxie snaps a selfie of him and Millie in bed, Blitzo can be seen hanging from the ceiling above them) and later in "The Harvest Moon Festival" where Blitzo loses his hold and lands on their bed.
• Cerebus Retcon: Those white spots all over his body? "OOPS" reveals they're actually burn scars, or at least makeup to cover them up, from the fire that maimed Fizz and is implied to have killed Blitzo's mother.
• Character Blog: He has an Instagram account called blitzorodeo. While he regularly makes posts on the site, many of the words in said posts are misspelled.
• Character Catchphrase: Often says the phrase "Christ on a stick" when frustrated.
• Character Development: After avoiding them for all of the first season, the second season shows Blitzo finally confronting his past and opening up about his self-loathing, allowing him to slowly, but surely start mending his relationships with the people he hurt, particularly Fizzarolli.
• Characterization Marches On: The pilot originally portrayed him as a goofy incompetent leader that cares more about maintaining I.M.P as a sort of family than actually succeeding at his business, while also being a major optimist to contrast Moxxie's more grounded realism. The series proper has it where, while he still views I.M.P as the closest thing he has to genuine family, he's generally much smarter about keeping his business afloat, is willing to outright threaten Moxxie and Millie when they risk ruining their reputation or screwing up a job, and has swapped his viewpoints with Moxxie, seeing all people as parasites from the moment they're born in contrast to Moxxie's hopeful belief in there being more good people than bad.
• Childhood Friend Romance: Played With in his relationship with Stolas. While Stolas wants a romantic relationship with Blitzo, from Blitzo's end he only sees Stolas' sexual lust for him. Blitzo only goes through with their sexual transactions because that's the cost needed to have his company, only rarely initiating any sex with Stolas of his own prompting. Also, Blitzo barely remembers Stolas from childhood, but Stolas is so infatuated with Blitzo specifically because he was and still is his only friend.
• Childhood Friends:
  • A few pictures on his phone reveals he and Fizzarolli were this once, possibly as far back as toddlerhood. As of the series proper, however, they are both firmly in We Used to Be Friends territory. They do however begin to repair their friendship starting with "Oops".
  • The Circus reveals that, thanks to Paimon buying him to entertain his son on his birthday, Blitzo was Stolas's first friend. It's ambiguous if Blitzo even remembers this day of his life, but at the time he did find himself enjoying the noble owlet's company.
• Circus Brat: Going by a family picture with him and his siblings, Blitzo grew up in the circus. "Loo Loo Land" strongly implies that he spent most of his life in the business before he decided to start being an assassin for hire, and Season 2 outright confirms this in "The Circus".
• Cloudcuckoolander: He doesn't set out to be cruel so much as his bizarre thought processes and poor sense of boundaries keep him from realising that he's offending people. His idea of a gift for Loona is a box full of spiders, and his idea of bonding with his employees is to stalk them at home. His Instagram page dials this up considerably.
• Clothing Appendage: His hooves are shaped exactly like his boots.
• Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Blitzo differs from Charlie in more ways than one. Whereas Charlie is an upbeat, loving and sweet demon that looks the most human-looking among every other character and a well-recognized figure as royalty of Hell who founded the Hazbin Hotel to change her people for the better, Blitzo is a low ranking imp that looks like a mix between a devil and a jester and a cynical asshole who founded I.M.P for the purpose of facilitating Hell's Crapsack World and making blood money by assassinating people in the living world for their clients. Unlike Charlie, who was over her head almost as soon as she started her hotel venture, Blitzo has more of a business mind and apparently is fairly good at keeping I.M.P afloat — as long as he doesn't get himself or his team killed. Also, whereas Charlie also believes in the goodness of others and that sinners can be redeemed, she's also not stupid, nor a pushover, and can stand her ground when needed, plus has a more healthy (if occasionally contentious) relationship with her steady girlfriend Vaggie. Meanwhile, Blitzo's own business has the intent to murder people in the living world that demons dislike or want gone for revenge, he is extremely needy and lonely and tries to make a family out of his work colleagues yet at the same time his love life is much more toxic, with numerous acrimonious break-ups which left his former partners bitter at him, and couldn't care less about the general state of Hell, or the people that don't directly concern him. Regarding their mothers, Charlie hasn't seen her mother, Lilith, since she left her father Lucifer seven years in the past and hasn't been able to contact her since then and misses her with the season one finale revealing that she has been in Heaven the whole time while Blitzo accidentally killed his own mother during a fire at the circus he worked at during his best friends birthday fifteen years ago and has since hated himself for what happened while deeply missing his mother.
• Covered in Scars: It's revealed in "OOPS" that those white spots on his body are burn scars from a fire he accidentally started, which maimed Fizzarolli and caused their friendship to disintegrate.
• Crazy in the Head, Crazy in the Bed: He is an eccentric Ax-Crazy imp even by the low standards of Hell, but he's also 'really'' good at sex when he wants to be, to the point he got an advantageous Sex for Services deal with the much higher-ranking demon Stolas just because of how impressed he is with Blitzo's performance in bed.
• Crazy-Prepared:
  • His office desk has emergency buttons for "more coffee", "soiled my pants", "horny client", "deranged client", "client giving birth", "ghost", and "Stolas".
  • He seems to keep a cache of cell phones handy, seeing how he keeps losing/destroying them, though this is mostly Played for Laughs.
  • It is shown in "Oops" that Blitzo also keeps a small knife in his shoes if he should ever get captured.
• Creepy Souvenir: in "Loo Loo Land", it seems Blitzo has kept Martha’s eyeball from "Murder Family" in a bottle in his office.
• Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Despite Blitzo seemingly being incompetent with his questionable choices in how he acts and his rather lax way of handling things, he is rather good with guns, and has proven himself to be quite competent at stopping multiple kidnapping attempts of Stolas during his time in Loo Loo Land. It's noteworthy that the imps who are trying to assassinate Stolas throughout the trip are immediately scared away from attacking whenever Blitzo is around despite outnumbering him 6 to 1.
• Daddy Issues: Apparently, his father wasn't very impressed by his childhood dreams of getting into musical theatre and decided to "crush them".
• Dartboard of Hate: Blitzo seems to have one of these in his office, though it’s thus far unknown who is on the two pictures upon it.
• Deceased Parents Are the Best: Implied. At the end of "OZZIE'S," when he comes across a picture of his mother while looking through his phone, he breaks down in tears. "Oops" confirms that Tilla died because of a fire that Blitzo himself had caused. The fire was an accident, but he still has to live with the knowledge that his mother died because of his own actions.
• Depraved Bisexual: He's pansexual (as confirmed here), and while he's an semi-Affably Evil Benevolent Boss, he's still a demon that started up a business for assassinating humans and creepily threatens Moxxie that he'll fuck him and Millie if he ever screws up another job.
• Desperately Craves Affection: "Truth Seekers" reveals in a truth gas-induced hallucination that he is both this and afraid to form bonds with others due issues with his self-worth.
• Didn't Think This Through: Some of the trouble in Blitzo's life is self-inflicted due to his recurring habit of not quite considering the consequences of his actions.
  • As the flashback in "The Circus" shows, Blitzo failing to check the ground below before escaping from Stolas' mansion via the balcony meant that he ran into Stella and her peers. Furthermore, his careless remark about sleeping with Stolas' ensured that the latter's infidelity would become known.
  • Stealing the Grimoire itself counts, as a Goetian noble of Stolas' stature wouldn't let it remain in I.M.P.'s hands forever, let alone without some kind of bargain.
  • His sneaking into OZZIE's to spy on Moxxie and Millie — not only had they made it clear they did not want him spying on him, but trying to get around the club's "couples only" rule by asking Stolas on a date set up the Disaster Dominoes that would make their secret affair public, throwing a wrench into their relationship.
• Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Non-combat version, but he defeats Bee, the Lord of Gluttony, in a drinking contest in "Queen Bee". Bee is genuinely impressed by the feat, even noting that it's been a while since someone beat her in a contest.
• Disguised in Drag: At least one of his human-world disguises in "C.H.E.R.U.B" is as a woman, and one that wouldn't look out of place in Verosika's posse.
• Disowned Sibling: In "Unhappy Campers," Blitzo tries to find and reconcile with his twin sister Barbie Wire, but she makes it clear she never wants to see him again. It is implied she hates him because he accidentally started the fire that killed their mother.
  Blitzo: Barb, wait! I want to help you—let me help you, please? You're clean now, right? Let's...grab dinner, we'll catch up, and we'll talk about—
  Barbie Wire: (laughing) You don't fucking get it! Just cause I'm outta rehab doesn't mean I wanna see you! I never wanna see you, ever! (opens a portal back to Hell) Next time you want to find me, Blitzo? Don't!
• Do Not Call Me "Paul": It was initially implied through Insistent Terminology during the pilot before being made quite clear in later proper episodes that he strongly dislikes having the "o" in his name pronounced. The Malicious Misnaming he gets from Fizzarolli and Verosika, the former even having him reply with "the 'o' is silent now", makes it obvious that the proper pronunciation brings up bad memories of his past as a clown before becoming an assassin. At one point, he even takes someone asking "what 'o'?" as a compliment.
• Doting Parent: Towards Loona, though this comes with the consequence of him constantly overlooking/excusing her general jerkass behavior.
• Doublethink: Blitzo holds two contradictory ideas at the same time: he just wants to be loved for who he is, but he doesn't want anyone to get too close to him. While this makes Blitzo a blatant Hypocrite — which he is called out on more than once by people, including his own subconscious — he's also very reluctant to make any improvements or changes in his attitude.
• Dying Alone: As Blitzo's truth serum-induced drug trip in "Truth Seekers" comes to a head it devolves into everyone he knows telling him that he is going to die alone, revealing this to be his ultimate fear. Blitzo makes it abundantly clear that this is the case in "Queen Bee" on top of not wanting to end up a “wrinkly, old, withered, waste” and in drunken, depressed desperation asks Loona to be there when he dies. Unbeknownst to Blitzo, Loona promises she'll be there.

• Early-Bird Cameo: An early design of him can be seen in the crowd during the "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" segment in Hazbin Hotel. He looks different, having one white horn and one red horn, the mark on his forehead being heart-shaped, and having red sclera. Blitzo actually addresses this look in a post on his Instagram account. According to him, it was a Halloween costume.
• Embarrassing Nickname: Stolas calls Blitzo "Blitzy", something Blitzo is less than thrilled with and very unhappy to have announced in public in lieu of his real name. Striker, not long after pointing out that Stolas treats Blitzo like a plaything, calls him this as a cruel parting shot.
  Stolas, in public on a microphone: The winners are Striker and my daaaarling Blitzyyyyy!
  Blitzo: Just say my name RIGHT! Fucking dick!
• Epic Fail: "The Circus" has him bite on Stolas' neck and he later tries to twist it in an attempt to subdue the prince so that he can steal his grimoire. This doesn't work, and actually results in Stolas being turned on by his "forwardness".
• Establishing Character Moment:
  • His brief Early-Bird Cameo in Hazbin Hotel 's pilot shows him in the crowd of demons listening to the announcement of the Happy Hotel ... only for him to get bored of the speech halfway through and start staring at Charlie's ass.
  • In the pilot, he states how things in IMP are bad and how it's no one's fault and how he's not naming any names — just before dropping Moxxie's name. He then shoots down Millie's offer of a car wash, as well as blowing off Moxxie's assertion that they can't afford a billboard before shoving him away, establishing him as a pretty self-absorbed Jerkass.
• Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: While she hasn't made an on-screen appearance yet, Blitzo is shown to love his mother moreso than his father. In "OZZIE'S", the photo that finally makes him shed tears is one of him and his sister giving their mother a birthday card. The reason why he goes through with stealing from Stolas and Paimon in "The Circus" is so that he can help his mother.
• Even Evil Has Standards:
  • While he likes screwing around on the job and messing around with his employees, he's actually very serious about getting the job done and maintaining a good impression to his clients, since more jobs done properly means more clients. When Moxxie nearly screws up the job in "Murder Family", he gets genuinely angry, and when Moxxie makes up for it and finally kills the target, Blitzo forgives him before threatening that if Moxxie ever screws up again, he's going to "fuck" him and Millie.
  • He's a clingy stalker, but Blitzo seems to draw the line at outright sexual assault; he goes from just being very snippy with Verosika's posse to actively trying to get rid of them after they try to gang up on Moxxie.
  • This is incidentally how he got into his Sex for Services arrangement with Stolas in the first place. He had actually tricked Stolas into partaking in a BDSM session so that he could tie him up and steal his grimoire. However, upon realizing that Stolas' life was completely devoid of love, he decided to go through with having sex with him because he couldn't bring himself to lead on someone who was that starved for affection.
  • Despite struggling with his own parenting style of Loona, in "Seeing Stars" Blitzo argues that people with drug addiction aren't fit for parenthood.
  • Subverted in "Exes and Oohs", where Blitzo initially rejects having sex with Chaz on the account of being his employees' ex but does so anyway.
    • Played straight later in the same episode when he discovers Chaz's plan to marry Moxxie to get into the latter's mobster family despite him being already married to Millie.
      Blitzo: Oh, fuck that! Nobody fucks with M & M's marriage but ME!
  • Even as a youth, Blitzo was disgusted by Mammon's behaviour on stage, for attacking his fans with clowns, vomiting on them, passing out while performing, or exploiting children for his own image and profit.
• Even Evil Has Loved Ones: His relationship with them is fairly strained, but he despises the sight of anybody harming his employees, since he views them as the closest thing to a family that he has. Blitzo was already angry at Verosika for stealing I.M.P's parking space, but when she and her team assault Moxxie, he explodes with anger.
  • Loona is his adopted daughter, and he utterly adores her. So far, he's been shown to be a touch overprotective of her, primarily in "Spring Broken". Though it's unknown if this was due to the fact that Tex— whom Loona had rapidly developed a crush on— was in fact the object of Loona's affections or due to him working for Verosika or both. He seemed concerned about Loona catching HPV in "Spring Broken" (seemingly forgetting she already has syphilis, assuming this wasn't retconned from the pilot), and was utterly aghast at first when she aids Millie in trying to rescue him and Moxxie in "Truth Seekers", though he quickly comes around when he sees just how good a fighter she is. Given his seemingly low sense of personal self-worth, it's interesting to see his interactions with Loona, and one has to wonder how he would react if she was actually injured, given how he reacted to the attack on Moxxie, whom he has no direct ties with beyond employer and employee.
  • He has a twin sister named Barbie Wire, who he worked with at the circus before opening I.M.P. When Verosika tells Blitzo that she's a "sad loser wash-up", this comment about his sister angers him. In "Unhappy Campers" it's shown that they're estranged, with Barbie Wire wanting nothing to do with him, yet Blitzo is shown to be dedicated to her, as he spends a week tracking her down, just to talk to her and offers her dinner, a chance to catch up and his help. She declines harshly and underscores that she wants nothing to do with him. A telling sign of how much he cares for her is that while they're quarelling over I.M.P's target, Barbie's underling, Blitzo doesn't fight back against her, even when she's strangling him.
  • His old friend Fizzarolli is also near and dear to him, despite how many years they've been estranged due to tragic circumstances out of their control. Upon reconciling, Blitzo is shown to be highly protective of him, offering advice, support and standing up for Fizzarolli when he thinks it's needed, be it against rivals, a loony possessive fan or even a sin. Despite their differences, this was also the case before they reconciled, as seen while captured by Crimson's mob, Blitzo grew furious when Striker threatened Fizzarolli and continually prevented Fizzarolli from being harmed by Crimson's goons. Bottomline, no one is touching Fizz on Blitzo's watch.
• Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: He tells Moxxie that homeless people bring him joy and laughter to his life, as if he was describing clowns.
• Evil Is Hammy: Blitzo is normally a very excited and enthusiastic fellow, which translates to him often being loud, bombastic, and overall very energetic, exacerbated by having a flare for theatrics. He applies all of this to his assassin business, often playing around and making jokes about all the death his business brings.
• Evil Virtues: Blitzo is shown to have several of these, though to varying degrees.
  • Ambition: In the pilot, Blitzo states his goal with I.M.P is to show that Imps (who are the bottom of the pecking order) can do what everybody else can. He is implied to have other aspirations though, as shown from his chart labelled "Boss Goals" which, while unspecific and very rough, centers around Blitzo associating with several individuals that are close to the top of Hells’ hierarchy: Katie Killjoy (a rich and famous News Anchor), Rosie (one of Hells’ many Overlords and owner of Rosie’s Emporium) and even Lilith Morningstar (the Queen of Hell and wife of Lucifer). Considering he, as an Imp, is at the bottom tier of said hierarchy, this can come off as extremely optimistic dreams, but it also shows that Blitzo has some grand endgame with the firm.
  • Equality: The I.M.P boasts a 50/50 gender ratio amongst its employees and how Blitzo often praises Millie's high skills at murdering, but Downplayed since he frequently calls women around him "ho" and "tits" to their faces (this might be his way to be friendly, though) or dishing out extremely misogynistic insults to those he is feuding with (Verosika).
  • Love: Though his random shows of affection and lack of respect for boundaries often makes him unwelcome, there’s no denying that Blitzo cares deeply for his adopted daughter Loona, and for his employees as well (despite not holding back when insulting Moxxie). He is also shown to have this towards his biological relatives as he practically jumped at the opportunity to help his mother as a child in "The Circus" and spends a week tracking his sister Barbie Wire down in "Unhappy Campers" just to offer his help.
  • Loyalty: He gets on Moxxie's case a lot, but becomes violently angry when anyone else gives Moxxie a hard time. From challenging Verosika and her gang to a Demon Duel after they seemingly sexually assault Moxxie, to exclaiming, "Oh, you daddy-fucker!" and biting Striker for trying to shoot Moxxie.
  • Responsibility: Some boundary stomping tendencies aside, Blitzo is willing to be there for his relatives when he thinks they need him, like taking Loona to get her shots (which is far more dangerous than it sounds), or offering his sister Barbie Wire help with her drug addiction.
• Excellent Judge of Character: Surprisingly, especially given his obnoxiousness, this was the case in his youth, where Blitzo was quick to realize that both Mammon and Arick weren’t what they appeared to be, a twisted abusive vicious creep and a creepy stalker respectively, instead of a benefactor and overexcited fan.
• Facial Markings: Blitzo has several white spots across his body, with the most prominent being across one-third of his face, an unusual feature that Moxie, Millie and other Imps distinctly lack. "Oops" reveals that these markings are apparently the equivalent of burn scars for Imps, as Blitzo received them from the Circus fire that was accidentally caused by him, and even more severely burned Fizzarolli, with his all-white face implied to not be clown makeup as part of his look, but his barely healed injuries from the blaze.
• The First Cut Is the Deepest: It's heavily implied that Blitzo's First Love was Fizzarolli, as his flashback during "Oops", the items he wanted to give Fizz were a card labeled "Fizz's eyes only" and a flower. Given that Blitzo stormed off before he could offer said card due to Cash giving Fizz a card saying he wished Fizz was his son, which caused a chain of events that led to Fizz being horribly burned, and Blitzo never got the chance to explain things, it's likely that Blitzo sabotages his other romances because he doesn't want things to turn out how they did with Fizz.
• First Friend: He was Stolas's first friend when they were children, although it was just Paimon buying Blitzo to keep his son company so he wouldn't have to. While it's unclear if Blitzo remembers any of it, Stolas clearly was grateful towards Blitzo, even calling him his "first ever friend" when they first sleep together.
• Freudian Excuse: Given that he accidentally caused a fire on his best friend's and potential first love's birthday which burned down his family circus, horribly scarred said friend, and possibly killed his mother, it's no wonder why he has so much self-loathing.
• Foil: To his ex Verosika. Blitzo runs a fairly unpopular company with annoyed employees and can't seem to stop pampering his adopted hellhound daughter. Verosika is a very popular popstar, her employees follow her words no questions asked, and she isn't nosy about her own hellhound's life (because she didn't adopt him).
• A Fool and His New Money Are Soon Parted: In "C.H.E.R.U.B", Blitzo spends the entire salary that the client paid in advance on a green, gem-encrusted horse-toy.
• The Gadfly: He's a bit less mean-spirited about it than Loona, but he has a habit of saying and doing a lot of things towards Moxxie which most of the time can be construed as simply doing whatever he can to get under Moxxie's skin and see how he reacts. Slightly subverted in "Truth Seekers" when he reveals he often acts the way he does because he knows Moxxie is good at his job and wants him to stop overthinking things and worrying about how he comes off to others outside the company.
• Half-Identical Twins: As shown in one of his old circus posters in "C.H.E.R.U.B", Blitzo has a twin sister named Barbie Wire.
• He Is Not My Boyfriend: He insists that his relationship with Stolas is purely a Sex for Services arrangement. "Truth Seekers" reveals that it's...complicated.
• Hellish Horse: On his Instagram, Blitzo frequently mentions he has a horse for which he originally made his account to share with. Despite his claims, it was a long Running Gag that his horse is never seen clearly either in the photos he takes or by other characters. This along with the similar Running Gag of him constantly renaming his horse with all sorts of nonsensical names gave the impression that his horse was nonexistent, a notion which Moxxie upheld until the imp encountered said alleged horse itself as revealed in a post that Millie uploaded to her husband's account after the apparent encounter. Going by how traumatized Moxxie was and further comments by him on multiple posts, it was implied that Blitzo's horse was no ordinary horse and in reality some sort of hellish thing. This was further corroborated in a couple of posts by Blitzo, one in which he finally took a direct pic of his horse but produced instead a distorted image as well as distort his message, and another in which he related how he met his horse and noted how everyone in the coffee shop he took his horse to was running away screaming for some reason. Blitzo's horse eventually was properly revealed in a post when she rescued him after he was apparently kidnapped. There it's revealed that she's a skeletal shadowy mare and that she's been renamed to Spindle, both of which essentially making her a reference to the logo and name of Spindlehorse, the company that Vivienne Medrano founded for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Sadly after rescuing Blitzo, a later post revealed Spindle decided to leave, her reason being she had finally repaid Blitzo for the coffee he had given her so now they're even.
• Hidden Depths:
  • He is skilled enough to catch a bolt from a crossbow with his eyes closed.
  • His favorite movie of all time is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
  • It is shown that Blitzo is aware of his poor drawing ability and he seemingly wants to improve, but can't due to the high cost of arts classes (and his own poor money managing skills).
  • Assuming that the hallucination of Blitzo that Moxxie sees in his bad trip is true to life, then Blitzo has an excellent singing voice (when he's not trying to sing along to hard rock, that is).
  • One of the photos shown during the I.M.P jingle implies that Blitzo knows how to play the piano.
  • In "Exes and Ohs" it’s seemingly Blitzo that flies the helicopter that he, Millie and Moxxie escape the green ring in ^note Based on where Blitzo jumps out of the helicopter in the scene, he’d logically be closest to the controls, as Millie and Moxxie jumped from the back of the helicopter..
• High Hopes, Zero Talent: Blitzo strives to prove himself as a skilled assassin and tries to take on the role as The Strategist of his company, but his poor impulse control and very tenuous understanding of logistics and finances often gets in the way. "Truth Seekers" reveals that he's actually very self-conscious about not being able to succeed without help.
• His Own Worst Enemy: "Truth Seekers" reveals that he both Desperately Craves Affection and pushes others away because he's insecure over his own image of self-worth. It's implied that at least part of the reason that his relationship with Verosika failed was because his own issues caused him to subconsciously sabotage it because he couldn't believe that someone like her was interested in him, someone that has to rely on others to be successful.
• Horn Attack: Not voluntarily, mind you, but his horns are sharp and sturdy enough that if someone is strong enough to swing him around (like, say, Millie), he makes for a vicious gaff.
• Hypocrite: Part of the reason he has such a hard time being cared for is the Doublethink involved in Blitzo's mind, which manifests as hypocrisy that he gets called out for from time to time.
  • He's caught in a vicious cycle of driving people away while at the same time being terrified they won't stick around. Blitzo shows signs that, more than anything else, he needs to feel wanted. But during his hallucination in "Truth Seekers", images of all of the people in his life berate Blitzo for constantly pushing them away or acting like a Jerkass to them.
  • For as much as Blitzo resents being seemingly treated as nothing but Stolas' plaything in the present, it's revealed in "The Circus" that Blitzo was the one who viewed their relationship as a means to an end from the start, while Stolas clearly wanted their relationship to be something more. Blitzo wasn't planning to sleep with Stolas; he initially did so out of pity after seeing just how desperate Stolas was for affection. It just adds further complications to the relationship between Blitzo and Stolas.
  • While Blitz's outburst at Stolas for seeing him as nothing more than a sex toy is understandable, his earlier actions don't exactly paint him in the best light either. He basically lured Stolas - who thought it was a date - to Ozzie's club just because he needed a plus one to get in and spy on his employees, who were just trying to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Not to mention that he pretty much spent the entire time watching Moxxie and Millie and ignoring a disappointed Stolas.
• Hypocritical Heartwarming: He frequently insults and belittles Moxxie for laughs, and occasionally indirectly insults Millie about her interest in Moxxie, but when push comes to shove he shows that he genuinely views them as family alongside Loona, and will take on anybody that genuinely does anything to harm them, such as Verosika and her group assaulting Moxxie, possibly sexually, which makes him go from irritated about their presence to utterly enraged at their actions. Blitzo even says in "Exes and Oohs" that only he’s allowed to intrude on their marriage and is outraged to learn about Chaz conning his way into an Arranged Marriage (he unfortunately gets sedated for snooping).
• Hypocritical Humor:
  • He gets snippy at Moxxie when Mox says that Loona is more like "a meth-addicted homeless woman you let man the phones" than a troubled teenage girl who needs patience, accusing him of being offensive in meaning that comparison badly (granted, because "without homeless people, I wouldn’t have half the joy and laughter I do in this world!")... and then he goes on to diss Moxxie by telling Millie "your husband is just... how do I say this without being offensive? Retarded."
  • When the group start pestering him for details about when he dated Verosika, he tells them to mind their own business and says he never butts into their personal lives. All three of them immediately call him out on the fact he does that all the time.
• I Just Want to Be Loved: Blitzo shows signs that he needs to feel wanted. He insists on referring to the I.M.P coworkers as a family, basically adopted Loona as his daughter, and stalks Moxxie and Millie at all hours, implying he Hates Being Alone. He casually answers Fizarolli’s taunt about whether anyone loves him with a simple 'no', but looks genuinely upset when Loona says he's not her real father and she doesn't need him. Expanded upon during his hallucination in "Truth Seekers": He is absolutely desperate for love but also fears intimacy because he simply can't fathom it due to his perceived lack of capability; thus, he's caught in a vicious cycle of subconsciously driving people away while at the same time being terrified they won't stick around.
• Inconsistent Spelling: Formally, his name is spelled as "Blitzo". To emphasize the "o" in it being silent however, his name has also been spelled in various other ways. These include spelling his name as is but visibly crossing out the "o", replacing the "o" with a different similar-looking vowel such as "ō" as in "Blitzō", and spelling his name simply as "Blitz" without the "o" altogether.
• Inferiority Superiority Complex: He shows subtle signs throughout the episodes that, despite his projected confidence, he is secretly desperate to prove himself as somebody capable and worth something, with his boasts being acts of denial that he lashes out with at any people who get too close to the issue. "Truth Seekers" reveals that before I.M.P, he tried to go solo but the result didn't work out, leading to self-doubt about his worth since he needs to rely on others. This causes him to push away anyone close to him until they have enough, end up hating him and leaving, which makes him crave love and companionship but gets hampered by his confidence issues, making him fear that his employees will leave him too and he'll die alone.
• Innocently Insensitive: In "The Harvest Moon Festival", Blitzo remains ignorant about Moxxie’s despondent mood over being outdone by Striker at every turn, cheerfully talking about how he asked Striker to work for him in I.M.P and looking forward to it.
• Interspecies Romance: The two relationships Blitzo has been in or have almost entered, is with Verosika and Stolas, whom are a succubus or a goetia respectively, contrasting Blitzo being an imp.
• It's All About Me: Can be a tad self-absorbed. At one point he tries to steer the conversation towards his outfit.
• Jack of All Stats: Of the group he's the most well-rounded. He's a better marksman than Millie, and a better hand-to-hand brawler than Moxxie but doesn't overshadow either of them in their respective talents.
• Jerkass Has a Point:
  • His anger at Moxxie for accidentally starting a fire in "Murder Family" is entirely understandable since it put the grimoire at risk; had it been burned, not only would I.M.P be unable to go to the mortal realm, but Stolas would be very unhappy at its destruction.
  • His shutdown of Stolas's proposals to spend a night with him after a dreadful "date" may seem cold, but Blitzo has no reason to believe Stolas has wanted anything other than sex from him, as nearly all their conversations involved sex in some way.
  • As callous as Blitzo's scolding of Moxxie was in "Unhappy Campers" (calling him a "fucking disgrace" to his face), he put Moxxie in charge of a hit, and it took them five days because Moxxie wanted to do it his way and impress Blitzo, wasting a lot of time that could have been spent on getting more clients (a tactic Blitzo previously used in "Spring Breakers" to great success).
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
  • He heaps abuses upon abuses on his employees, but when it gets down to it, he really does value them and see them as family. As mentioned above, harming or threatening other members of I.M.P is a good way to make him take off the kid's gloves, and, during the "Loo Loo Land" episode, he notably sends Moxxie and Millie away to guard Stolas (which more or less removes them from the crossfire) as he begins his fight with Robo-Fizz, a fight which ultimately culminates with the entire park going down in flames.
  • He talks crap about almost everybody, but he does feel proud of them in actuality. He starts giving compliments to Moxxie, telling him how great of an employee he is, only stopping because he says he is "maxed out" on compliments.
• Karmic Jackpot: The climax of "Oops" has him save Fizzarolli from dying in a fire after seemingly betraying him when they were younger. Not only do the two reconcile, but Fizz puts in a good word to Ozzie, thus giving I.M.P an Asmodeus crystal to let them teleport to the mortal realm without the use of Stolas's grimoire.
• Kavorka Man: While it's difficult to judge how physically attractive he is to other demons, since Hell's beauty standards may be different from those on Earth, his personality isn't exactly one that seems likely to attract sexual or romantic attention. Moreover, being an imp, he is pretty much at the bottom of Hell's food chain. Even so, he's currently in a transactional sexual relationship with Stolas, a very powerful and revered Hell prince, and was previously the boyfriend of Verosika Mayday, a famous Hell popstar and succubus, much to the shock of his employees. Not to mention he apparently gets propositioned by clients enough to need an alarm button specifically dedicated to such a situation. Though given a comment made by Stolas in "Loo Loo Land", it might have something to do with, well, a certain feature of his anatomy.
  Moxxie: I just... is she blind? Suffering some form of brain damage?
• Know When to Fold Them: Blitzo’s response to being shot by Martha in "Murder Family" is to call for I.M.P to scatter. Not a foolish decision since they were outnumbered, Blitzo himself was already injured and Moxxie wasn’t too keen on shooting their target (and was unlikely to attack the rest of the family).
• Large and in Charge: Downplayed, Blitzo is the boss of I.M.P and stands about a head taller (not counting his larger horns) than both his subordinates Millie and Moxxie, but Loona towers over him.
• Large Ham: He's incredibly loud and energetic, courtesy of being voiced by Brandon Rogers.
• Lean and Mean: He's tall (for an imp) and thin, and a skilled assassin who very much enjoys his job of killing people.
• Lousy Lovers Are Losers: On "Ozzies", during Verosika's solo in "House of Asmodeus" she sings about how she was a generous lover to Blitzo during their relationship, but he was a selfish lover who never returned the favor. ^note His relationship with Stolas implies he's pretty good in bed, so it's possible to be a case of him being selfish and not trying when he was with Verosika.

• Malaproper: Tends to use these on occasion, such as saying "lick some ass" (instead of "kick some ass"—he likes his version better), and "let's get off" (instead of "let's be off" or "let's get on").
• Mama's Boy: Though she's yet to make an on-screen appearance, "OZZIE'S" and "The Circus" make it very clear that Blitzo loves his mother. In the former episode, the thing that ultimately broke Blitzo was stumbling across a family photo where he and Barbie Wire gave their mother a birthday card. In the latter, Cash manipulates a young Blitzo into stealing while on a playdate with Stolas by asking if he wants to help him and his Mama. Blitzo's immediate response was "Of course, I wanna help Mama!"
• Meaningful Rename: His usual clarification of "The 'o' is silent" is rendered as "The 'o' is silent now" when directed at someone from his past at the circus, indicating that he used to pronounce his name as spelled. Since "Blitzo" as spelled sounds very much like a clown's name, it makes sense that the change in pronunciation is a recent development associated with trying to distance himself from that career and the past that comes with it.
• Meaningful Name: Specifically because it's a failed attempt at a Meaningful Rename. The fact his "new" name is barely any different from his old one seems to symbolise how Blitzo is only ignoring the problems that made him try Starting a New Life instead of doing the hard work of resolving them.
• Mirror Character: The further the series goes, the more apparent it becomes that Blitzo is this to Stolas — both Used to Be a Sweet Kid who wanted nothing more than to help their parents, only for said parents to treat them like dirt. Both have strained relationships with their family, except for their respective daughters, who love them even if they are annoyed or embarrassed by their antics. Finally, both yearn for a healthy romantic relationship that they currently lack. Their major differences are social status/class and how their romantic relationships went down the toilet — Blitzo pushed Verosika away due to his own behavior and implied self-loathing, while Stolas was never interested in Stella (his father Paimon wed them in an Arranged Marriage) and strains his relationship with Blitzo because he never tells Blitzo that he actually loves the imp, nor does he make any gestures to imply it.
• Missing Mom: While his father makes an appearance in "The Circus", Blitzo's mom hasn't appeared in the series at all aside from some photos. "Oops" implies she died in the fire Blitzo accidentally caused at Fizzarolli's birthday.
• The Mistress: A rare male example, despite his relationship with Stolas being "transactional", Stolas considers him this and tries to make excuses to spend time with Blitzo such as hiring him as a bodyguard or inviting him to the Harvest Moon Festival.
• Monster Clown: He's an unrepentantly murderous demon who possesses a sick sense of humor, and everything from his looks (half-white face with a black line through it that resembles clown makeup, the shape and length of his horns resembling a jester cap) to his attitude (a Cloudcuckoolander that engages in Large Ham theatrics) are very clownish in nature. "Loo Loo Land" later revealed that this is because he used to be part of a circus and acted as a joke-telling clown, even having equally clowny sisters who worked alongside him, and when he left the business to make a life for himself as an assassin, the persona stuck with him. "OZZIE'S" reveals that he was a Non-Ironic Clown as a child along with Fizzarolli, and seemed perfectly happy. What caused his change of heart isn't known yet.
• My Beloved Smother: He adores Loona and dotes on her constantly, much to Loona's irritation.
• My Greatest Failure: What broke his friendship with Fizzarolli: He accidentally pushed over a candle during a Heroic BSoD, causing a fire that burned down the circus and badly hurt Fizz, while he was occupied with saving the life of his mother (which is implied to have not worked). From there, he took being told that Fizz didn't want to see him in the hospital personally rather than Fizz being mistaken about how intentional the fire was, and broke contact, leading to their current animosity. It's only in the wake of "Oops" that Blitzo swallowed his pride and admitted what happened, leading to Fizz realizing they were both lied to and them finally burying the hatchet a little.
• No Celebrities Were Harmed: Brandon Rogers voices him with what sounds like a Paul Lynde impression.
• No Sense of Personal Space: He doesn't seem to know what personal boundaries are, let alone how many he crosses on a given day. He stalks Moxxie and Millie in his free time, going as far as to crashing their one-year anniversary dinner in "OZZIE'S". Loona gets the worst of it; she Hates Being Touched and Blitzo frequently tries to hug and kiss her without warning, and she reacts with growls or violence.
• No Social Skills: He doesn't seem to understand why Moxxie would have a problem with him repeatedly invading his and Millie's home life, for one thing. "Murder Family" shows that Blitzo isn't too much better at talking to his clients, considering he didn't find anything inappropriate about casually addressing Mrs. Mayberry as "tits" right to her face.
• Noodle Incident: Mentions in "Truth Seekers" that he's once been strapped nipples first to a car battery. Blitzo also implies that he's been put under interrogation repeatedly in the past, and usually wriggled out of it by being obnoxious. He also mentions having dropped out of a college, which, with his Book Dumb tendencies, becomes a huge mystery how he was allowed to attend in the first place.

O-Y

• Offscreen Teleportation: When he gives Loona a gift that turns out to be a box of spiders, in the literal second or so he's out of view as the spiders cover her, he's somehow gotten outside the window, which is closed.
• One Degree of Separation: Despite being an imp he runs a struggling assassination business, it gradually is revealed that Blitzo's past connects him directly or indirectly to many of the most important people in Hell.
• The One Who Wears Shoes: He's the only member of I.M.P who wears any kind of footwear, sporting a pair of boots instead of going barefoot like everyone else. This remains even once they start using an Unlimited Wardrobe of Paper Thin Disguises after taking Loona's advice, since no matter what outfits they wear, Blitzo is still the only one that ever wears proper footwear, with the closest Moxxie and Millie get being the paws of cat fursuits.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
  • He's hardly ever truly angry, with him most of the time simply getting offended by things he dislikes, but when he yells at Moxxie out of rage that he gave their client a bad first impression and potentially set fire to their portal book, and when he speaks with sheer seething venom about what he'll do if Moxxie ever screws up again, it really does a good job demonstrating that, no matter how silly or lazy he acts, he's actually very serious about maintaining good relationships with his client-base and getting their jobs done.
  • Later, he even comes to Moxxie's defense after Moxxie is physically (and very heavily implied sexually) assaulted by Verosika and her gang. Before, he was merely annoyed that he had to give up his parking space and share a floor with his ex, but he doesn't get royally pissed until Moxxie is accosted, at which point he initiates the Demon Duel.
  • When Loona tells Blitzo that he's not her "real dad", adoption or not, Blitzo is genuinely upset by Loona's outburst. Even when she briefly tries to reconcile, he just walks off to sulk.
  • In "Truth Seekers", when Moxxie and Blitzo run into trouble in the form of government agents, Blitzo immediately screams at Loona to close the portal so that she and Millie are safe. Afterwards, Loona tells a panicking Millie that Blitzo used "a total of zero euphemisms, innuendos, or swears," which means it was serious.
  • In "OZZIE'S", he drops the Sour Outside, Sad Inside persona when talking to Stolas, bluntly stating that Stolas makes it "really clear, all the time" that he doesn't view Blitzo as anything but a sex toy. The whole time, Blitzo is Trying Not to Cry, even wiping away tears from his face while his voice audibly cracks a few times.
  • In "Seeing Stars", he has an outright panic attack after Octavia steals the Grimoire and goes to Earth, knowing just how badly Stolas would react to his beloved daughter being in danger.
• Overly-Long Tongue: Has a long chameleon-like tongue that snaps out to grab a dog treat after Loona refuses it.
• Pals with Jesus: As of "Mammon's Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special," he's on friendly terms with Asmodeus, a Deadly Sin.
• Papa Wolf:
  • Blitzo is Loona's adoptive father and will not tolerate Moxxie or Millie either blaming Loona for their screw-ups (even if she was the cause of said screw-up) or yelling at her (even if she was the one who started the argument).
  • He sees Moxxie and Millie like part of his family, and hurting them is a surefire way to make him angry, something Striker found out the hard way when he made Blitzo almost shoot Moxxie, with the guy getting beaten to pulp for the trouble.
• Parental Substitute: He's Loona's adoptive father, and despite whatever misgivings they might have, he fully treasures her.
• Performance Anxiety: When forced to take part in a sitcom called "Sweetie I'm in the House", he starts off extremely tense and not wanting to do it. Understandable on account of his past as a performer having left him traumatized.
• Pet the Dog:
  • Literally, in Loona's case, since he's genuinely nice to her. He also makes Moxxie employee of the month despite their usual animosity, although this was probably just an attempt to guilt-trip him. It's revealed in "Seeing Stars" that, despite wanting initially to adopt a cute, friendlier hellhound, he instantly changed his mind upon seeing Loona sobbing in a Troubled Fetal Position, despite her having recently knocked out a different hellhound who was about to attack her.
  • In "Loo Loo Land", he takes first watch bodyguarding Stolas and Octavia so Moxxie and Millie can have some fun time together at the park.
  • Also in "Loo Loo Land", his treatment of Octavia is closer to Loona than the way he treats his clients, going so far as to call her "sweetie".
  • When Moxxie gets drunk and nearly eaten by a sea monster in "Spring Broken", Millie goes to kill the thing and Blitzo catches Moxxie before he hits the ground, then proceeds to continue holding him in his arms until Millie comes back.
  • In "The Harvest Moon Festival", Blitzo genuinely compliments Millie's skills to her parents, calling her "a gem of an assassin" and that Millie's parents "raised a sturdy bitch". And when Striker almost made him shoot Moxxie, he proceeds to bite down on Striker's arm before beating him to a pulp.
  • Fresh off his truth serum-induced nightmare in "Truth Seekers" he begrudgingly admits to Moxxie that he's good at his job and should give himself more credit instead of always being worried about what other people think of him.
• Pity Sex: The actual nature of his first sexual transaction with Stolas, as revealed in "The Circus". Blitzo was actually planning to just steal the grimoire from Stolas and keep him tied up after tricking him into taking part in a BDSM session. Then Blitzo saw that Stolas's life was completely devoid of any affection and decided to go through with the session because he knew that just abandoning Stolas would seriously screw him up. Subverted when he ends up staying the whole night rather than a mere few minutes.
• Pointy-Haired Boss: The pilot portrays him as a terrible company manager, being rather incompetent as an assassin and frequently doing things that run his company into the ground, such as blowing everybody's salaries on a badly-made commercial nobody watches. The series proper downplays this, as while he overall still sucks as the group's leader, often requiring his employees to handle the finer details for running the place, he's a lot smarter when it comes to maintaining the business profit-wise, and he's leagues more capable at killing than originally portrayed.
• Politically Incorrect Villain: He casually uses the word "retarded" to insult Moxxie’s intelligence. He also shows some sexist tendencies by casually addressing Mrs. Mayberry as "tits" in "Murder Family", referring to Millie as "[Moxxie's] ho" in "Loo Loo Land" (though in that example Millie doesn't seem bothered by it at all and Moxxie doesn't protest either, so it may just have been Blitzo's obnoxious way of trying to be friendly) and calling Verosika Mayday's car a "tampon racecar" and "pussywagon" in "Spring Broken".
• Poor Communication Kills: The hit job in "Murder Family" would have gone a lot more smoothly if he had just told Moxxie about Martha's true nature instead of painting her as an innocent woman. This results in the second and third acts.
• Pragmatic Villainy: In "Murder Family," He offers Mrs. Mayberry a deal that I.M.P will kill Martha for free if they can't get it done in 24 hours. He explains that this is to ensure that they can still get her business after Moxxie set the office on fire in front of her.
  • He barely tolerates Stolas and their Sex for Services in exchange for the grimoire, but when Striker tries to assassinate Stolas, Blitzo jumps to his defence; angry that his "ticket to the living world" was almost ruined by someone he offered a job. Considering how complicated Blitzo's feelings towards Stolas turn out to be, however, this might've just been an instance of him trying to deflect his attachment to him.
• Prehensile Tail: Uses his tail to pass around a bowl of popcorn, and to give his employees a group hug. He later proves he can also use it in combat to grab and hurl opponents.
• Pronouncing My Name for You: As explained by Blitzo himself in the ad for I.M.P, the 'o' in his name is silent. Old circus co-worker Robo Fizz and old flame Verosika deliberately pronouncing it as spelled out of spite, with him even correcting the former that "the 'o' is silent now", makes it clear this is a very deliberate spelling-to-pronunciation oddity. He even half-jokingly takes someone asking "what 'o'?" as a compliment.
• Psycho for Hire: His work motivation begins and ends with "someone dying" and "money". When Stolas asks him to bodyguard him and Octavia, he tells him that "[I.M.P] are assassins, not bodyguards", only to change his tune on a dime when Stolas promises to pay him with cash.
• Pushover Parents: Blitzo often gives Loona a little too much leeway, certainly more then he gives to Moxxie and Millie. Despite Loona being completely apathetic to her job and borderline detrimental to their work Blitzo allows her to keep her job as his secretary. The most he's ever tried to curb her behavior, in the episode "Seeing Stars", is by suggesting that she try and be a little more sociable to customers. And when he does try and put his foot down by saying he might replace her if she doesn't curb her behavior, he goes back on it by the end of the episode and apologizes to her. It's implied that even outside of work he bends over backwards for her such as giving her the only room in the apartment while he sleeps on the couch. It's implied that Blitzo's leniency is because he's aware that they're both love starved and so he goes a bit too far to ensure that Loona never feels that way again.
• Rhyming Names: Originally his name was Blitzo Buckzo. No longer the case after he changed the pronunciation so that the 'o' in Blitzo is silent.
• Running Gag:
  • He has one with the phones he talks to Stolas with, which either end up destroyed or abandoned depending on the episode.
  • He also can't seem to get out of a car or window without kissing the dirt.
• Sad Clown: Along with Monster Clown, despite his goofy demeanor Blitzo is a deeply insecure demon who craves affection yet pushes people away due to his own self-loathing.
• Sex for Services: He agrees (while distracted) to this arrangement with Stolas in "Murder Family". Since Stolas needs the grimoire for his own duties, but only sparingly, he agrees to let Blitzo keep it most of the time. But once a month, on the full moon, Blitzo has to return the book to Stolas so he can do his job and sleep with Stolas that night.
• Sex God: Subtly Implied. Stolas is a rich, influential demon, but still lusts after Blitzo after their night together, with "Loo Loo Land" implying that Blitzo is the only man Stolas finds attractive. He also has an emergency button labelled "horny client", meaning he probably attracts more people than just Stolas. Notably, he has separate buttons for "horny client" and "Stolas", meaning that he gets propositioned by clients just as much as by Stolas. In "Spring Broken" it's revealed he used to date a famous popstar succubus, although in "OZZIE'S", she claims that he was a selfish lover.
  • While Blitzo may be a selfish lover, "The Circus" implies that he makes up for it with stamina and/or perseverance, as in Blitzo's own words, he wanted to give Pity Sex to Stolas "Real fast" when they originally hooked up, but said intercourse starts in the evening and ends in the morning the next day.
• Shipper on Deck: Seems genuinely enamored by Moxxie and Millie's relationship, to the point where he essentially stalks them everywhere.
  • He's implied to have become one for Fizzarolli and Asmodeus as well by the end of "Mammon's Magnificent Musical", though he was critical of the relationship in the beginning, not believing a royal could love an imp, yet Asmodeus' love confession and tenderness with Fizzarolli seems to have won him over. Blitzo naturally shows this by asking inappropriate questions about their sex life, just like he does with Moxxie.
• Shrine to Self: After a fashion, Blitz has several posters with himself on the walls of I.M.P’s offices, relating to either his performing days and/or his family (both work and blood related). However, this is in sharp contrast to his apartment, where each picture has Blitz scribbled out, even his childhood photos.
• Sibling Team: Blitzo has a twin sister named Barbie Wire who, back in Blitzo's carny days, he performed with under the shared gimmick name of 'The Amazing Imp Twins'. It appears his time spent performing with his sister is about the only thing about Blitzo's past life as a carny that he doesn't regret and want to bury, as he keeps a poster of himself and his sister on full display in I.M.P's board room. And when Barbie gets into a fight with Blitzo during "Unhappy Campers", Blitzo doesn't fight back against his sister, even though she's trying to kill him.
• Sir Swears-a-Lot: Even in this Ruder and Cruder spinoff, Blitzo has the biggest potty-mouth in the cast with the vast majority of swearing and crudeness coming from him.
• Slave to PR: He tells Ms. Mayberry that they will kill the target in 24hrs or it is free to save face after Moxxie sets the office on fire in front of her. Justified, because if a potential client (here Ms. Mayberry) doubted I.M.P's abilities, then they could simply take their business elsewhere, and if word of this spread, then the company could go bankrupt for lack of income.
• Sour Outside, Sad Inside:
  • His drug trip in "Truth Seekers" shows that despite his bravado he is actually a deeply insecure person who genuinely does not know what he's doing most of the time, knows that he would fail very quickly at a career if he was on his own and he didn't have people like his employees around, and craves affection but doesn't know how to receive it. It also implies that part of the reason he is so hard on Moxxie stems from Moxxie being more educated and cultured than him, causing him to feel insecure and reflexively push Moxxie down.
  • His first real date with Stolas in "OZZIE'S" doesn't go well. After telling Stolas that he sees their relationship as purely transactional and little else, he's Trying Not to Cry. But by the time he gets home, a Photo Montage of his past loved ones eventually caused Blitzo to break down into Broken Tears and curl into a Troubled Fetal Position, clutching a pillow on his couch, all alone.
• Stalker with a Crush: Blitzo shows himself as quite interested in the general lives of his employees Moxxie and Millie, especially their love lives, and occasionally expresses how he's sexually interested in them as well. "Loo Loo Land" even has him masturbate to crudely-made dolls of Moxxie and Millie before Stolas calls him.
• Suddenly Shouting: Blitzo isn't afraid to use his commanding presence towards those who annoy him, as best evidenced by the shenanigans at the end of "C.H.E.R.U.B" which immediately caused everyone in the room to pay attention.
  Blitzo: No, I'm serious. Get the FUCK OUT!
• Technician Versus Performer: Blitzo is the technician to Fizzarolli's performer as shown in the episode Oops where he relies on Fizz to create a distraction while he handled the heavy duty work of breaking them out of the warehouse.
• Terrible Artist: Whenever situations arise that involve showing off his drawing skills, it's shown that, while not outright horrible, Blitzo sucks at drawing, with everything being sketchy and poorly designed. This is actually justified, though, as he mentions how art school is expensive, implying that he's been trying to improve his art skills but the lack of money prevents him from getting professional lessons.
• Thousand-Yard Stare: He understandably has one as he listens to Stolas giving a very graphic description of his desires towards him. He maintains it throughout breaking his phone down to a slurry for Loona to eat and then apparently later defecate off an overpass.
  • He gives a mad version of one during "Spring Broken" after he is riled by Verosika stealing his parking space, angrily staring off into space as Moxxie's rambling about pop music is tuned out by a buzzing tone before he snaps back to reality and tells Moxxie to shut up.
• A Threesome Is Hot: When having some... alone time in "Loo Loo Land," he fantasizes about having a three-way with Moxxie and Millie.
• Time-Shifted Actor: Mason Blomberg plays him as a child, while Brandon Rogers plays him as a teenager and adult.
• Throw the Dog a Bone: After several failures to mend relationships with his old friends and mismanaging things with Moxxie, Millie, Stolas, and Loona, "Oops" has him successful fix his friendship with Fizzarolli, who also gives his an Asmodean Crystal as a parting gift, meaning Blitzo not only managed to finally make peace with part of his past, but also secured a way to run his business without Stolas' grimoire.
• Too Kinky to Torture:

  Nurse: How many times do I have to sodomize you with a taser until you take a hint?

  Blitzo: As many as it takes to get me off. Now enough with this foreplay, where's Barb?

• Trademark Favorite Food: Coffee - when he's not posting about horses, Blitzo's Instagram account is posts of the various coffee drinks he buys at all hours of the day.
• Trauma Button:
  • When trying to go undercover in Hollywood, Blitzo puts on an amateurish human disguise and gets mistaken for a human celebrity named Brennon Ragers and he is thrown onto a soundstage as a result. He immediately freaks out backstage, saying "I can't do this again", referring to his terrible childhood in the circus.
  • During the show, another trauma button is hit when a little girl (in-universe) asks Blitzo if she can adopt his dog. Blitzo flashes back to adopting Loona, about how she was an angry and scared hellhound in the adoption center, and would be "out of our hair next month" according to the adoption center. This causes Blitzo to freak out and refuse to give up the dog on the show he's acting in.
    Blitzo: (upon coming out of his flashback) ... No. No, no, you can't have her! She's mine, and I love her!
• Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: As a child, Blitzo played that his legless balloon horse lost his legs at war, and claims that blood is cool. It's noticeable due to Fizarrolli saying blood is disgusting.
• True Love Is a Kink: With the reveal of his intimacy issues, it seems that Blitzo is constantly stalking or trying to introduce himself into Moxxie and Millie's marriage in order to experience a loving and healthy relationship vicariously through them.
• Tsundere: There were already early hints that he was one, with implications that he strongly cared for Moxxie in spite of constantly putting him down, but "Truth Seekers" fully confirmed this to be the case, as he genuinely cherishes Moxxie and everybody else close to him. However, his Inferiority Superiority Complex and fear of commitment causes him to act like an aggressive Jerkass to everybody he actually likes, and it's something he utterly hates about himself since it runs counter-intuitive to his desire for companionship.
• Two-Faced: Blitzo has a large white patch on his face that surrounds one of his eyes. Interestingly, the childhood/teenage photos seen on his phone in "OZZIE’S" show him with single-tone skin like other imp, suggesting it's some sort of scar rather than something he was born with. "Oops" eventually reveals it to be a burn scar from the same incident that maimed Fizz.
• Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Downplayed. While Blitzo isn't actually ugly, he is indeed a very bizarre looking imp, which isn't helped by the wide variety of goofy expressions he makes, as his appearance is best described as a demonic cross between a lizard and a Xenomorph, yet his former girlfriend was the succubus Verosika Mayday, who is every bit as sexually attractive as you'd expect a succubus to be. This also counts with him and Stolas, due to the owl having a highly dignified and regal appearance that arguably makes him and Blitzo clash EVEN more appearance-wise, given the latter's goofy appearance.
• Unequal Pairing: He sleeps with the aristocratic and incredibly powerful Stolas in order to maintain his access to the world of the living. However, at the same time, it's clear that Stolas is also genuinely head-over-heels for him. He's well aware of the unequal power of their dynamic, as shown during his encounter with Striker in "The Harvest Moon Festival" and his Mushroom Samba episode in "Truth Seekers".
• Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: He's a self-absorbed, comically-inept manager of an assassination company in Hell who stalks his employees relentlessly out of some misplaced fascination with their domestic life, and he's downright hilarious.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: After he sneaks away from Stolas in the pilot following sleeping with him, he crashes into Stella's tea party and admits he slept with Stolas. While this is Played for Laughs in the moment, him revealing the affair lead to Stolas' family breaking down even further and straining his relationship with Octavia in "Loo Loo Land", as well as Stella hiring Striker to assassinate Stolas.
  • In a more subtle sense, while his job certainly isn't the sole reason that Pride has to be regularly purged of Sinners, he's not exactly helping matters by adding to Earth's already-high death toll.
• Uptown Girl: So far, everyone he's confirmed to have had a relationship with — Verosika Mayday the popstar succubus and Stolas the demon prince — has been of a much higher social standing than him.
• Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Was shown in his childhood in Cash Buckzo's family-run circus, to be a close friend to Fizzarolli, with the two enjoying a strong positive relationship in their free time together.
• Verbal Tic: Has a tendency to add 'OK', 'kay', or 'all right' to the end of his sentences.
• Villain Has a Point: In the pilot, Blitzo wasn’t wrong when he referred to Stolas as a "privileged asshole", as the latter was shown to be a narcissistic Rich Bitch.
• We Used to Be Friends: The end of "OZZIE'S" reveals that, along with his failed relationship with Verosika, he was friends with Fizzarolli as a child which was soured after a fire Blitzo accidentally caused resulted in Fizz getting severely burned as revealed in "OOPS", though they are slowly mending that bond. "The Circus" also reveals that Blitzo was bought by Paimon, Stolas' father, to be a companion for Stolas so that Stolas would agree to an arranged marriage with Stella. In spite of this and Blitzo stealing a bunch of valuables from the palace, it seems as though the two had bonded as children and this was acknowledged when Blitzo tried to steal the Grimoire 25 years later.
• Weapon-Based Characterization: A subtle example. Blitzo’s signature weapon is a flintlock pistol, a gun used in the days of pirates. "The Circus" implies that Blitzo loved pirates when he was a child as Fizzarolli says he’ll punch him if he keeps talking about them.
• What Does She See in Him?: Blitzo is not only a jerkass, but an imp, one of the, if not the lowest demon class in Hell. Even so, he managed to get more tail than anyone expected from demons who are otherwise higher-up than him:
  • Stella is irate about her husband Stolas cheating on her with Blitzo, though their off-putting marriage may be part of it.
  • The rest of I.M.P are shocked and confused that their boss used to date popstar Verosika Mayday, though the question is if it was before or after she became famous.
  • "Truth Seekers" reveals that Blitzo apparently feels this way about himself due to his brief solo career ending in failure and him recognizing all the times he would fail if he didn't have people looking out for him, and subconsciously sabotages his relationships out of insecurity despite the fact that he Desperately Craves Affection.
• What You Are in the Dark: "The Circus" shows how Blitzo first got a hold of Stolas' grimoire. After failing to break into Stolas' chambers but getting invited inside by the demon prince, Blitzo managed to tie Stolas down and make it so he can steal his grimoire from right under his nose. But when Stolas calls him his "first ever friend", Blitzo decides to take pity on him and give him a quickie... that lasts an entire night.
• Where I Was Born and Razed: Played with, "Oops" reveals that 15 years in the past, Blitzo accidentally caused a fire that burned down his childhood circus and marred Fizzarolli, and the fire is heavily implied to have killed his mom as well. Blitzo is implied to carry a heavy amount of guilt from this and all but states he hates himself for causing it and so much pain.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: It's implied that Blitzo is scared of ghosts, considering he has a specific alarm for ghosts and how he reacted to Loona's ghost costume on her Instagram.
  Blitzo: LOONA?! GHOST?!
  Loona: Boo.
• Wicked Cultured: He expresses a love of musical theatre at numerous points. This, however, didn't stop him from hating a musical Moxxie recommended to him, saying he left halfway through, because it was "awful" and "only about ugly, horny cats!".
• Wicked Heart Symbol: He had a heart-shaped marking on his forehead in his debut in Hazbin Hotel. Here, it's shaped to look like a cross between a heart and a demon's skull.
• The Wonka: He's very quirky and some of his business decisions are questionable at best. That being said, I.M.P. steadily grows in success and prominence under his management. In "The Harvest Moon Festival", he tells Stolas that there's plenty of demand for his services, and he later considers hiring Striker to help manage the increased workload. By "Exes and Ohs", he's made enough of a name for himself that one of the most powerful crime lords in Greed takes notice.
• Would Hit a Girl: Played for Laughs in "The Harvest Moon Festival" — when Millie says that Stolas is his boyfriend, Blitzo bluntly tells her that he's not above hitting her in front of her parents.
• Would Hurt a Child: While he was caught off guard that a client wanted a child murdered, he didn't have a problem going through with it. Sure, the kid was a total jerk, but no more than Blitzo is, and he had every right to mad after they shot him.
  • He was also ready to murder a mother and child simply for insulting him. Apparently "fire-toad" is an imp-slur worthy of such violence.
• You Remind Me of X: An unspoken version. A flashback, which shows the first time he met Loona at the Hellhound Adoption center, indicates that he chose to adopt her after the caretaker of the place remarked about her that she had a serious attitude problem and could never amount to anything, all but directly stating that he saw something of himself in her.
