openQuestionable edits in YMMV.Arknights Videogame
So to give context to the YMMV edits I want to discuss, Arknights is a work where the primary conflict centers around fighting the Reunion Movement, a group angrily lashing out at the world governments for treating people infected with the fantasy disease as lower-class citizens and/or outright inhuman. So there's an entry on the page for Applicability as to how it can be interpreted as analogous to real life politics.
It goes on into a tangent about their aesthetic, which is debatably comparable to real life movements.
And DeadmansHand92x45 added their response to the entry in the middle (which seems like a definite violation by having Conversation in the Main Page)
The part of the entry they're responding to
Deadmans Hand92x 45's addition
Their objection is very politically charged in what they're saying and I'm not really sure how to handle this, other than removing all the tangents altogether, so asking here for feedback.
Edited by NouctopenUh... Two things Videogame
On the Pyramid Head section on Silent Hill, The Anti-Villain section has a point of "He's still plenty hostile towards him, though, and if one is to follow the interpretation of him found here, he's certainly malicious as well." This reads like 'this theory is canon', which is generally looked down upon, and I still want to remove the intrerpretation bit since it feel like it doesn't belong. Should I remove? I'm not sure that he's totally malicious, since he's a manifestation of James' guilt and sense for justice and guides him along throughout the game, this is even furthered at how you can just ignore PH on his boss fights for a few minutes then he leaves or kill himself.
On the Humans are White section on Frost Punk: "Not only is every human in the game white, but almost all of them are British. The only exceptions are the handful of Americans who survived the fall of Tesla City and the Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen. Perhaps justified because all but one of the Generators was built by the British Empire, which in real life was quite racist and willing to sacrifice its non-white subjects when expedient. " The bolded section isn't about the game, like it's trying to bring up sensitive subjects just because. Should I remove?

I want to make “O2Jam” rhythm game in TV Tropes Wiki, how do I do it?
Edited by MinoricaopenFrustrated by lack of discussion. Videogame
I recently bore witness to what, in my mind, is an... overzealous pruning of the That One Boss page for Bloodborne, with one user making the argument that every boss not 100% necessary for game completion is a Bonus Boss, and therefore ineligible for inclusion. And that therefore all DLC bosses are "Bonus Bosses," and so on.
Now, I disagree with this interpretation, for reasons I've laid out on that page's discussion, in addition to the fact that it sure sounds like a lot of semantic trickery. But, when I tried to argue my case there, the user that instigated the original cuts stonewalled me and told me to argue my case on the Cleanup Thread; that they were only following the definition of the trope as listed (which I can't argue they are, if in the most narrow-minded and hamfisted way possible).
So, I did. And there's been no response, either from the party I'm in dispute with or any potential useful third parties.
I guess my question is, what should I do when I don't want to edit-war and would love to try to discuss my issues in a reasonable and respectful way, but the other party simply insists their point of view is correct and denies me the chance to plead my case in either of the two provided fora?
Edited by SpectralTimeopenTroper going off the rails in the Dragon Age pages Videogame
Give 1 Take 2 has been a regular editor of the Dragon Age pages. They have made substantial contributions to several pages, and provided thoughtful insight on several topics.
Problem is, they've lately started going off the rails regarding "the franchise's anti-elf bias" and how elves are being oppressed, along with bashing certain character (specifically, Aveline from DAII and Sera from DAI). It's getting to the point that most of their recent additions to these pages are nothing but character bashing.
A discussion thread was started in one of the character pages, but it didn't attract much attention, so I thought I'd bring the subject here.
ETA: Now that I'm on pc instead of mobile, I'll provide a few links to their recent edit history:
- Re: Mythal
- Re: Morrigan
- Re: Fenris
- Re: Aveline
- Re: Sera (I linked just the most recent one here; scroll down for more examples)
openX meets Y: Characters issue Videogame
A while ago, a user named numbahloki16 deleted a bunch of entries on the 'X Meets Y' Video Game Characters' page, as shown in the edit history page, they deleted everything under the Xenogears examples. Should I add them back to the page? I believe they did it accidentally, and I know it's a "Just for Fun" page, but I'm unsure of adding them again because I'm afraid that an edit war might happen.

Edited by happy123boyopenTroper with severe grammar issues, unwilling to improve Videogame
jikoh has been editing several pages pertaining to Honkai Impact 3rd for months on end now, but most, if not all, of their edits are littered with horrendous grammar and pothole abuse. I have sent them several notifiers over the months in hopes of redirecting them to the "Get Help With English Here" thread, but they obviously aren't listening.
I don't care if they're not a native English speaker, nor if they contribute to a lot of entries. There is a standard to meet, and jikoh certainly doesn't meet that. It's unfair for tropers like 4tell0life4 to always clean up after their mess, and one of their latest edit reasons, "Edit it greater, please.", doesn't endear them.
openNeed help figuring out how to link character pages and fix page names. Videogame
I am sure this is a common question, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to redirect one particular works page to a certain character page. It is namely part of a long series and as such has one series wide character page. And the other issue have to do with how to fix the name formatting of a works page. Some works have a certain way that their titles are presented or use certain signs or symbols which cannot be used for their standard addresses.
I hope I can help with this.

So, this page exists, documenting the fighters of Fighter Pass 2 and the tropes associated with them...however, none of those fighters have been revealed yet — and most likely won't be for a while — leaving the page with just a description.
Should the page be cut, or at least redirected?

Edited by Loekman3openValid use of SpecialEffectsFailure? Videogame
Troper PRH added the following entry to the Warcraft YMMV page:
- Special Effect Failure: All instances where Grommash Hellscream was referred to as "Grom" were replaced with "Hellscream" in Reforged, with the word "Hellscream" simply being pasted over from other dialogue lines, and it shows.
I removed it as that does not seem to fit the meaning of the trope but they readded it anyway without an edit reason. Would this qualify as usage of the trope?

I took down Ambiguous Situation entries in Characters.Kingdom Hearts Supporting Originals (and a few other non-character trope entries), but Sir Adamus readded one and without leaving an edit reason (under the Subject X folder, to be exact).
Just thought I'd bring it up here as I didn't want to risk an Edit War even if there's no issue with taking down non-character tropes from character pages itself.

openWe've Got a Scrappy Problem Videogame
About a month ago, I deleted all the entries for The Scrappy on Criminal Case because they were clearly meant to be hated and hated badly. Here it is for reference:
- The Scrappy:
- In the 2014 Criminal Case Wiki Awards, Miriam Young won the game's "Most Annoying Character" title (by a very huge margin) due to her cold and domineering personality, and her cruel treatment towards Amy (who, by contrast, was voted as the fan favorite). Not only that, several fans have gone as far as saying that she should be in jail instead of Duncan even though he's the Night Walker.
- Albert Tesla also qualifies, for abandoning his son, thinking himself to be Pacific Bay's God, nearly destroying it and killing fan-favorite Frank Knight when he attempts to stop him. He's even voted the game's "Most Annoying Character" of 2015.
- Sarah Bennet was voted as the "Most Annoying Character" on the 2016 Criminal Case Wiki Awards. Rightfully so since she nearly killed Jack, killed Dupont and Natasha (regardless of her affiliation with SOMBRA, she's still Marina's mom), and nearly caused World War III.
- Horatio Rochester was voted as the "Most Annoying Character" on the 2017 Criminal Case Wiki Awards, owing to his attempt to fully control Concordia as a city-state and abolish press freedom. Moreover, unlike Justin Lawson, who was ultimately a Well-Intentioned Extremist who Jumped Off The Slippery Slope, Horatio has no redeeming qualities and is motivated by selfish and petty reasons.
I discovered only today that three days later, user pizzasoda66 added them all back. Their reasons were, and I quote, "The description of this trope is "The fans hate this character for some reason.". Just because they're supposed to be disliked doesn't mean they're not scrappies. Why do you think they were voted as the most annoying character?"
Whether or not a character who's meant to be hated can qualify as a Scrappy anyway is a mug I don't wanna chug right now, but their description of The Scrappy as a trope is way off. It's the given explanation on the laconic page, which feels like an artifact of the past, and should be changed to add the qualifier "against the intentions of the creator". Because that being the case, again, none of these assholes are unintentionally hated.
I would go back and say this, but I'd rather not get hit with an Edit War accusation and edit banned for it. What do you guys think?
openShould we keep examples from alpha stage of the game Videogame
Currently the page of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator has tropes from open alpha. This includes units that removed in more recent version. The Devs of the game said that some of the removed units won't come back. Should we keep tropes from alpha stage of the game?
openEdit War in YMMV/Super Smash Bros Ultimate Videogame
A while back I noticed this from YMMV.Super Smash Bros Ultimate:
- This would later be downplayed in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls where Simon initially displays this attitude towards Alucard, commenting on the dark powers from within him are on-par with Dracula's, only for Alucard to remind Simon that he once fought alongside Trevor Belmont, and comments on both Maria, Shanoa, and Charlotte's impressive abilities in magic.
This was a lone third level bullet "reply" to another example under Memetic Psychopath, which was what first stood out as incorrect Example Indentation. Then looking at the text itself it was all about another game's characterization of Simon and nothing to with Simon in Smash Bros. Ultimate. So I removed it citing both reasons in the Edit Reason.
Tailikku then put it back showing misunderstanding of both reasons in their Edit Reason.
I PMed them telling them the reasons the entry is incorrect, but they did not respond. So I decided to bring it up here, and checking the Page History again I noticed Tailikku was the one that added the entry in the first place, so they're also Edit Warring.

I removed a Catharsis Factor entry he put in YMMV.The Fairly Odd Parents because it was Square Peg Round Trope. Catharsis Factor has to do with the way you relieve stress while doing something.
Here's the entry I removed:
In hindsight, mentioning that the entry reading like a Take That, Scrappy! entry in the edit reason was a bad idea, because he readded it, but under Take That, Scrappy!. Even though Trixie isn't a Scrappy.
EDIT: Whoops, I put this under Video Games by accident.
EDIT 2: And I put Tootie's name instead of Trixie's. God I am off today.
