I think there was debate over if Catharsis Factor even applied outside of interactive media like video games. If it's about audiences releasing stress how can that work without physically interacting with the story?
Yea that's exactly what I was thinking. I launched a TRS a while back about this but they never bothered to unlock it.

The TRS backlog is frustrating, especially when newer threads keep getting opened instead of older, endlessly-locked threads.
But the only thing we can do here is contribute to open threads as much as possible to close them as quickly as possible, and hope that one day, one of our threads gets to be opened...

If there's debate over what counts, wouldn't it be better to start a Trope Talk thread before starting a cleanup thread?
I do think that it would make more sense for audience interaction to be required, but the page says it exists in all media and has a sizable non-video game example section. That said, the non-video game folder contains an Other section that would work fine as a real life folder, since physical interaction is involved, though only the Anger Room example looks valid (the example above it might violate Examples Are Not General).

^ Which is why we need TRS for it, but the thread is taking forever to be opened, just like a ton of other threads.
But we can't just start a cleanup thread to enforce a standard about the trope that doesn't exist.

^Yeah, I agree that some of the older locked threads could have probably been unlocked before newer threads.
I'm surprised the Crazy Awesome thread got opened so soon, considering how many wicks that has; I mentioned in the pinned meta thread that the Takahashi Couple thread (which was posted in October) wouldn't take long to take care of, since its wick count is only in the low double digits (my Where They Were thread was opened the day I posted it and didn't take long to finish, since it had a low wick count as well).
Edit: I didn't know that a TRS thread had already been posted when I wrote my previous post in this thread (I overlooked the OP's post regarding it in this thread).

^^ Yeah, I've been waiting for any of my three threads (Bad Dreams, Ominous Mundanity, and Only-Child Syndrome) to open for ages now. Seems to me that the ones that open are either the ones with prior discussion or the ones that would go by super quickly, but it still leaves a lot of threads to simmer without action. Again, that's why we need more people active in the TRS to help resolve current threads, instead of just more people adding to the backlog.

Okay, Invanov Troping 97 removed the entry with this reason: "Am I the ONLY person who found that moment cathartic? Okay, then."
It isn't that they were the only person who thought it was cathartic, it was that it didn't fit the criteria for either item.

Okay, I'm sorry, I just don't know how to put that moment from "Beach Bummed" in there and make it sound okay. Should I put it under "Unintentionally Unsympathetic", as Trixie tearfully calls Timmy out for his actions after he unintentionally breaks her bones, expecting the fans to sympathize with her, even though she dumped Timmy and the previous episodes, prompting the fans to think that she deserved it?
^ That's sounds like a better fit (assuming there are multiple fans who reacted this way).
I removed a Catharsis Factor entry he put in YMMV.The Fairly Odd Parents because it was Square Peg Round Trope. Catharsis Factor has to do with the way you relieve stress while doing something.
Here's the entry I removed:
In hindsight, mentioning that the entry reading like a Take That, Scrappy! entry in the edit reason was a bad idea, because he readded it, but under Take That, Scrappy!. Even though Trixie isn't a Scrappy.
EDIT: Whoops, I put this under Video Games by accident.
EDIT 2: And I put Tootie's name instead of Trixie's. God I am off today.
