* AnnoyingLaugh: Of the snorting variety.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Cole's personal quest involves the Inquisitor encouraging him to be [[spoiler:more human-like or more spirit-like]]. For a number of neurodivergent players (especially some degree of autistic), or those who feel he comes across as [[AmbiguousDisorder Ambiguously Autistic]], it can feel like encouraging him to try to conform and "pass" as normal, or embrace what makes him different.
** For that matter, if he's encouraged to [[spoiler:become more spirit-like]], in ''Trespasser'' he can launch into a joyous speech about how he finally understands, "I'm not a wrong thing, a wreck, a ruin. I'm what I should be!" For many real-life players who struggle with {{internalized categorism}} (ableism, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc), this can feel like a personal anthem.

* {{Expy}}: Was clearly inspired by Tate from ''Series/AmericanHorrorStoryMurderHouse'', including hairstyle. Both are kind and sensitive, helpful young men, who have a lot of intuitive knowledge about the magical/supernatural. Both magically appear out of nowhere to help many times, and seem quite nice. Both have murdered many. Both aren't fully human, and need the help of the protagonists to come to terms with their own nature.

* IndecisiveDeconstruction: The narrative can't seem to decide whether Sera's attitude toward elves is a virtuous case of MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch with a well-deserved helping of ScrewYouElves, or a tragic case of InternalizedCategorism to deconstruct the MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch. Somtimes it's implied she just naturally doesn't fit in with elven culture and elves who try to make her conform are invoking NoTrueScotsman, yet other times it's implied her hostility toward anything "elfy" is due to [[InternalizedCategorism internalized self-loathing]] brought on by humans' {{fantastic racism}} against elves [[spoiler:especially her human noble foster mother]] ([[MisplacedRetribution that she only ever takes out on other elves, never humans]]). Yet, every time it seems the Inquisitor will help her overcome her self-loathing (if just for her own emotional health), the narrative suddenly flips and implies the ''Inquisitor'' is not accepting Sera for who she is... even though "who she is" is a product of poorly handled pain and self-loathing.

* BackhandedApology: Sera ''never'' apologizes for her actions, and the few times she does it's very sarcastic and she makes it clear that she still thinks she's in the right. Particularly after [[spoiler:Mythal, if the Inquisitor drank from the Well, and Sera points a drawn arrow at your face to make sure you're not possessed by a demon.]] If the Inquisitor calls her out, she snaps, "Sorry, I don't know anything about demons, or whatever."

** After [[spoiler:Mythal]], [[spoiler:if you drank from the Well]], Sera can ''point a drawn arrow at your face'', [[spoiler: though her dialogue after the fact makes it clear it was because she believed you'd been possessed by whatever was in the Well itself.]]

For once she doesn't have an answer, and starts to think about it... only to brush it off two seconds later.
** In her backstory, [[spoiler:Sera tormented a baker because her noble foster mother told her he didn't like elves. She later found out he was innocent, but refused to learn from it. "And why not? * DidntThinkThisThrough: One of her personal quests involves asking you to have Inquisition forces march through Verchiel to intimidate feuding nobles into standing down, then cheerfully suggests you go meet her contact to get paid. However, it literally doesn't occur to her that one or both of nobles might [[ShootTheMessenger try to get back at whoever squealed]], and she's ''surprised'' when one of the nobles turns up to kill her friends for ratting them out to the Inquisition.

* IfGhostsThenJesus: Played straight and subverted. That said, Sera firmly believes Andrastian human muggle commoners have it worst and are most oppressed by abusive nobles, while dismissing the plight of mages and city elves (who objectively have it worse due to being locked in slums and towers), as she sees mages as a privileged elite due to having powers that normal people don't have, and sees city elves as professional whiners.

* TheHedonist: Sera has all the impulse control of a [[WomanChild toddler]] and tends to indulge her every desire as she feels it. It's strongly implied she often [[HardDrinkingPartyGirl drinks, parties]], eats mostly snacks (like jam or ice cream and beer), make messes, play pranks, [[BloodKnight seek fights]] and skips town whenever the whim takes her. She's also implied to ignore basic hygene like brushing her hair (instead [[CuttingTheKnot just cutting it with a blunt knife]] when it gets too long) or washing her clothes (Josephine remarks that Sera doesn't seem to have any clothes without mustard stains on them). She also tends to jump straight into bed with someone she likes and worry about the "Are we compatible?" thing later. In general, the concept of forgoing instant gratification for long-term fulfillment is too ''boring'' to Sera.

* MisplacedRetribution: Sera's InternalizedRacism is half due to humans' FantasticRacism against elves [[spoiler:since her human noble foster mother told her the baker didn't like elves]], half due to other elves pulling a NoTrueScotsman fallacy toward her. * {{Sadist}}: Downplayed, but Sera seems to really enjoy causing others pain and discomfort, and can't seem to enjoy anything unless it's at someone else's expense. As a Red Jenny, she relishes tormenting and executing nobles more than actually helping commoners, and her ''only'' idea of fun is being ThePrankster and TheGadfly. If romanced, she loves making your relationship public partly because she feels special, but ''mostly'' because she ''relishes'' the irritation and discomfort it must cause other people. ("It's one thing for people to ''know,'' but shoving it right in their faces... Vivienne's face must have puckered pinky-tight!") And in ''Trespasser,'' she [[spoiler:proposes]] partly to celebrate your love, but mostly to flip a big old middle finger at the world. "We showed them! We won!"

It's notable that she is the only companion where you can kick out the Inquisition at anytime during the game (the other companions need to have low approval or trigger a specific a dialogue chain).
