As seen in the Do we have a project to disambig works? Ask The Tropers, there are many works pages that seem to need disambigs, by virtue of sharing names and having no differentiation.
This thread is for the discussion and listing of what to do about such pages.
See here for a list of needed disambigs.
The List
- Film.The Lost World
- Series.Utopia
- Series.Kidnapped (2006 NBC Cop Show) (20 wicks)
- Series.The Street
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront II
- WesternAnimation.Fantasia
- WesternAnimation.Max Steel
Similar Issues
- Then there is pages like The Host which is for the Korean film but has a bunch of wicks referring to the adaptation of The Host.
- Ransom: YMMV.Ransom only has Film entries, but Characters.Ransom is trying to be a disambig to Characters.Ransom Film and Characters.Ransom TV... Trivia.Ransom needs to be split.
- Film.Deadlands is conflicting with the Tabletop Game. Maybe move to its redirect, Film. The Dead Lands?
- Series. The Untouchables: It's holding multiple versions in there...

I apologize if this is the wrong place to bring this up, but I think we might need to rename VideoGame.Warhawk because it shares a name with the trope War Hawk, affecting the latter's capitalization. We could also split off the redirects and turn them into their own pages, creating VideoGame.Warhawk 1995 and VideoGame.Warhawk 2007.

The newly created trope, Pilgrimage overlaps with Film.Pilgrimage. Since the trope is so new that it only has 39 wicks, should we consider moving it and create a disambig page?
Also, if we decided to move it, how would we do it?
Edited by SoyValdo7 on Feb 7th 2024 at 1:41:41 PM
ValdoWhy bother? Tropes can't have subpages, so there's not going to be any overlap.
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.+ Then make the film have (2017) in its work title name.
So we have Pilgrimage (2017), disambiguated with Pilgrimage (the trope).

Absolute RainbowVideoGame.Jump Start overlaps with ComicStrip.Jump Start. I think the comic could move to ComicStrip.Jump Start Robb Armstrong (because it's basically been published for over 40 years, so the author's name sounds better), but I'm not sure what to call Video Game. Would VideoGame.Jump Start Series be right?
ValdoAsking on splitting up Allegiance (and the rest), especially since CBC has a new police drama aired in February called Allegiance.
It would be done by:
Allegiance - Theater production from 2012
Allegiance - Video game from 2000
Allegiance - This would be under main
- Allegiance - 2015 NBC TV series
- Allegiance - 2024 CBC TV series

Saw that there's Tracker and Tracker (2024).
The former can use a year on the name to tell the difference.
So it'll be:
Will need to make the Tracker as the ambiguation page.
Did the splitting of Tracker to the Tracker (2001). Will move the wicks. If someone wants to jump it and help out, thanks. Need to log off.

Split by year of release/premiere.
Kirby is awesome.Recently, I requested to move ComicBook.Guardian to ComicBook.Guardian 1942 to avoid overlaps with Fanfic.Guardian and Series.Guardian. However, after reviewing the page, it turns out that ComicBook.Guardian contains information about the character's appearance in multiple series over the years, as well as different versions of the character. So I'm no longer sure if using the year is a good idea, but I'm also not sure what to replace it with.
Any suggestions?
ValdoThat feels like it's at least partly a Characters page pretending to be ComicBook page.
Might be one for the DC Comics cleanup thread?
Finished moving the Tracker pages.
For the proposed Main/Allegiance page:
- Allegiance 2010 - a 2010 theater show
- Video Game/Allegiance - video game made in 2000
- Series / Allegiance - To be an ambiguation page

Going to split Get Even.
This is my proposal for a Get Even page. I'll have to holler for a mod to help out.
- Get Even (2017) - Polish video game
- Get Even (2020) - British TV show
I was thinking of creating a disambiguation page for Film.Pet, Manga.Pet and Literature.Pet. But then I came across the disambig Main.Pets. I want to know if it would be ok to put the aforementioned pages in Main.Pets and create a redirect for it called Main.Pet.

ValdoYeah, that seems fine. It happens every so often.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I've noticed that VideoGame.Warp was recently moved to VideoGame.Warp 2012. However, the only thing it shares its name with is a fanfic, and if I'm not mistaken, original works take priority over fanfics. Therefore, it should probably be moved back.

Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.Oh, it was me who did it. To save time, I did the request along with a bunch of other pages and ended up making a mess. I almost moved Literature.Flight to VideoGame.Flight 2007, I realized that Fanfic. The Healing had been deleted, and there was no archive of it until it had already been moved to Fanfic. The Healing Mayablanchefleur and of course I forgot that fanfics have priority when there's an overlap. I was able to correct it with Fanfic.I Saw Her Standing There but with Wasp, I didn't realize it until after it was moved.
EDIT: Also, yes, I agree with moving it back to VideoGame.Warp

ValdoWe have...
Year for the book and film, author for the play?
And one more:
- WesternAnimation.X Men 97 debuts later this year.
- ComicBook.X Men 97 will launch a month or two earlier
It's a related story, not a direct adaptation. Any thoughts?
Rabbit Heart! is entirely different from Rabbit Heart!. I've also requested a Wiki Word for the former due to the VN's title having an exclamation point.
The VN was released earlier (2017) than the book (2019).

How far will your 20 pesos go?Despite these being only two years apart, it makes sense for them to be disambiguated by year.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Literature.Blackheart (a short story by deviantart user fishsicles) is colliding with VideoGame.Black Heart (a Project Arrhythmia custom level series by ol666).
Trivia/ is the only subpage so far, and it only refers to the custom level series. However, the Literature/ page says not to be confused with a Ghost Rider villain, and there's a Video Game/ page called The Black Heart. There's also Literature. The Ink Black Heart but I'm not as sure about that.
I think disambiguating by creator name would be best here:
- Literature.Blackheart to Literature.Blackheart Fishsicles
- VideoGame.Black Heart to VideoGame.Black Heart Ol 666
Should a Main/ page be made, considering that other video game page?
EDIT: Resolved.

Pantheon Wick CleaningAntony and Cleopatra is a 2022 opera by John Adams, based on Shakespeare's Theatre.Antony And Cleopatra.
It's not the only opera of the story, so we can't use an "(Opera)" suffix to disambiguate.
Any preference as to whether we fall back on (2022) or (Adams) for disambig?
I lean to using the year if there are no Similarly Named Works to that from 2022.
Pantheon Wick CleaningFilm. The Tooth Fairy is at the wrong title, it's (no the) Tooth Fairy, but the page it should be moved to is Film.Tooth Fairy 2010 because of the trope Tooth Fairy.
This means that Film. The Tooth Fairy 2006 doesn't need the "2006", but should it be left alone or moved to Film. The Tooth Fairy instead?
Pantheon Wick Cleaning
It was cut in order to make a history transfer.
