Also it sounds like it's not "hard" so much as it's just really obnoxious to defeat.
Edit: A quick look at the Boss Battle index found Goddamned Boss, which seems like it might be the best fit.

- The Scrappy: Mary. She is likely one of the most hated children in all of theatre. She's an overly dramatic, Spoiled Brat who doesn't seem to have any regrets about her Malicious Slander and recieves absolutely no punishment for it.
Mary from The Children's Hour is listed as both a Scrappy and a Hate Sink. She can't be both, right? She's one of the main antagonists so can she still be a Scrappy?
A villain can still be The Scrappy, so long as they're not hated just for being evil. I'm not familiar with the work, but the Karma Houdini aspect of Mary's character could make fans complain that the way she's treated in the story is unsatisfying. Of course, being a Karma Houdini does not automatically equal Scrappy, for example if her lack of punishment is used to make a point about something, so more context would be needed.
But the way the example is currently written, combined with a quick look at the work's description on the page, leads me to think it's not an example.
I don't know, some of the Scrappies here, (like Barney and Sesame Street) seem like personal scrappies, rather than actual scrappies. There's a huge difference.
Hello, I'm the American Cinema Critic, I remember because the majors don't.^ Those two go under Periphery Hatedom.
Scrappy's are hated by the works fans and target demographic. Not examples.
- The Scrappy: Irish seems to exist for no other purpose than to complain, swear, freak out, and be insubordinate. Fortunately for you, sending him to his death in the ending is not only incredibly satisfying, but also nets you one of the best LMGs in the game for use in multiplayer.
- The Scrappy: The photo-man, to some. He'll interrupt the game, sometimes next to enemies, to force you though about 60 seconds of "dialogue" that never changes after the second time he appears.
- The Scrappy:
- Many viewers dislike the 'yuri twincest sadist troll' portrayal of the Materia Twins in the anime.
- The Hresvelgr in the anime has acquired quite the hatedom for her abrasiveness and threatening to attack Ao, on top of all the property damage she has caused.

Final call for my plans to cut the non-example on Avengers Assemble. If any of you have objections, speak now or forever hold your peace.
I believe Dean should be removed from YMMV.Long Exposure as he's meant to be unsympathetic, but I don't want to do it myself for fear of spoiling myself.
Keet cleanupLet me do it then. I'll spare you the trouble.
Update re: Long Exposure: I did delete it, and someone added it back. Should I take it to ATT or just send them a message saying it doesn't work that way.
Cut and link to this thread as the reason. That should justify cutting. I'll PM them about it and to take it here if they think he's an example.
I've re-removed linking to this thread stating Dean's not an example as written. Let us know if it gets added back.

Well done. These threads are hard to keep track of honestly.
Someone added Oscar from Shark Tale. Does he qualify?
Does he grow out of the Jerkass part. If so, cut that part.
Is he hated by those who otherwise like the movie, if not, not an example.
No, Oscar is a Base Breaker. People just like to complain about his character.
- Sodia also tends to get a lot of hate, mostly due to stabbing Yuri at the end of part 2. To be fair, she instantly regrets it. In her case, it doesn't help that many view her as a Clingy Jealous Fangirl or that she's Easily Forgiven, the latter being false because Yuri makes it perfectly clear that she is not forgiven and that Flynn not knowing is only because he needs someone he can trust by his side.
I sounds like the reasons she's hated are not unintentional and much of the entry is arguing it's undeserved. Cut?
I assume if characters are hated for factually incorrect reasons should they be deemed non-examples since it argues their hatred is unjustified?
I've said it before, but making "justification" a requirement for this trope would make it even more of a problem magnet than it already is. What matters is how common dislike for the character is, not if it's rational.
This was on Conan the Adventurer: Needle, full stop.
- Although in Conan And The Young Warriors, there's a throwaway line strongly suggesting Conan eventually got sick of Needle too and made stew out of him.
- Alas, Poor Scrappy: His fate in an alternate future was exceptionally cruel. Set himself transformed him into a crystal statue that was kept for display in his inner chamber. When Conan travelled fifty years into the future and came upon the statue, he saw tears starting to form in its eyes
I noticed that YMMV.Naruto has Sakura listed as The Scrappy.
- Sakura Haruno. First, she was disliked because she constantly punches Naruto and is incredibly condescending towards him, even though she resolved to be nicer to him. Then, she was disliked because she broke off her friendship with Ino in the past for an extremely petty reason—they both liked Sasuke. Then, she was disliked because out of Team 7, she's had by far the least characterization drive plotted into her—Naruto wants to become Hokage; Sasuke wants to avenge his clan; Sakura wants to...win Sasuke's heart? Then, she was disliked because she wasn't powerful enough and often let her fangirling over Sasuke take away from her potential. However, when Part II started, it was revealed that she trained with Tsunade in the medical arts and became a competent ninja in her own right during the Time Skip, and it looked like she was Rescued from the Scrappy Heap, especially after her fight against Sasori. However, people quickly disliked her again because she didn't do anything significant afterwards. Her subsequent re-Chickification, Aesop Amnesia, inability to kill the defected-Sasuke, hesitance to destroy Obito's Rinnegan eye so that Madara wouldn't be able to take it, thus bringing about the beginning of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, her general crying and relying on Naruto again like in Part I, and, most infamously, her painfully fake love confession to Naruto in Chapter 469, has not been very well-received by her fans, let alone by her non-fans and the more neutral fans. While she did get Rescued from the Scrappy Heap again in the Canon movie The Last: Naruto the Movie, due to her being Naruto and Hinata's Cool Big Sis and Shipper on Deck, the fanbase is split even further due to her actions in Naruto Gaiden: She doesn't know if Sasuke wears glasses, punches and breaks her house when Sarada presses her for more information about Sasuke and makes Sarada cry, and has no records of Sarada's birth anywhere in Konoha to confirm that she really is Sarada's mother. While the climax reveals that Sakura is indeed Sarada's birth mother, her actions did nothing to win over the fandom because the entire plot could have been avoided had she been open and honest with Sarada from the beginning. Users of Anime-Planet.com ranked her as the second-most hated anime/manga character, right behind Shou Tucker, who's meant to be hated.
First of all, this entry is a colossal Wall of Text that could possibly be shortened... IF we keep it. Sakura is one of the main characters: she has a lot of fanart, and a lot of popular ships. The entry even mentions that she has fans and people who are neutral about her. It's been a while since I've been part of the Naruto fandom, but back then I don't remember hatred for Sakura being a near-universal thing.
Cut it. Sakura frequently scores high enough on popularity polls that I doubt she has the sheer number of haters needed to be a Scrappy.
What about the example I've brought up?
IPP Wick Check created. The example you brought up isn't well-written; it's a zero context example and the stuff below it reads like justifying edits. I'm not familiar with the Conan fandom, but I'd say take down the example just because it's badly written.

x3 tl;dr, and reeks of complaining. Cut.
(EDIT: nevermind, looks like I was late into the game)

I think it's for entire works.
