Tropes
- Accidental Marriage: Haruhi ends up "wedding" Takeshi when she tries to kiss him on the cheek, only for a very poorly timed intrusion by Karin to cause him to turn around just enough that Haruhi ends up kissing him on the lips.
- Call-Back: When Renge flippantly labels a class D student as a "Nameless Minion", Takeshi has a minor breakdown.
- Did You Just Pet Primate Murder?: Haruhi distracts what she thinks is a giant, dangerous animal so that the Nekozawa family can escape... only to turn around and pet him when she sees how calm it's acting. The other hosts call her out on her behavior.
- Dream Weaver: Riko puts Tamaki under to calm him down.
- First-Name Basis/Last-Name Basis: Takeshi stubbornly addresses the other members with their family names instead of their given names despite Haruhi's attempts to resolve this.
- Oblivious to Love: Haruhi, just as much as she is in canon. Her inner monologue has her assume that Tamaki is the one everyone is swooning after.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: When Kyouya tries to dig up Takeshi's family history, he assumes Sakura is his mother because she has purple hair.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: Referenced verbatim
- The Stoic: Takeshi hides his emotions so habitually that Haruhi is eventually able to tell what he's thinking about by how little he reacts.
- Sweet on Polly Oliver: Takeshi when he first Reacts to Haruhi.
- Trauma Button: Honey ends up being this to Rider due to being the oldest member of the club while being the smallest physically, as they remind her of her elder sisters Stheno and Euryale, who were both The Ageless and looked like prepubescent girls.
- Villain Respect: Kyouya isn't a villain, but initially, he is unimpressed by Matsu's apparent research skills when she implies he has an Inferiority Superiority Complex to his brothers according to her research. He drops this when Matsu reveals that she knows that Kyouya thought Takeshi's mom was Sakura, because the only way she could have known that is if she hacked his computer.
