Submarines (SS)
A list of submarines appearing in Pacific.- Theme Naming: In this case, after a particular species of aquatic animal.
- Walking Swimsuit Scene: Well, they are based on submarines. Unlike the KanColle subs however, they have a bit more diversity in their choice of swimwear.
- Super Not-Drowning Skills: no known upper limit, though it is at least *months* according to Sailfish.
- You Are Number 6: Applied to the V-boats before this was changed to the current Theme Naming listed above.
Argonaut (SM-1)
One of the "V-Boats", and the personification of USS Argonaut.
- Fiery Redhead: Implied by her poses in all her art.
Narwhal (SS-167)
One of the so-called "V-Boats", and based on one of the most decorated ships of World War II, USS Narwhal, Narwhal is The Engineer of the bunch.
- The Ace: Based on one of the most decorated ships of World War II.
- Elites Are More Glamorous: Gets an entire complement of Marine Raider fairies armed specifically for doing commando raids against any threat she encounters.
- The Engineer
- Flag Bikini: Her attire.
- Hand Cannon: Literally, since it's modeled after a submarine-mounted deck gun.
- Oral Fixation: Tends to keep a blade of straw in her mouth.
- Semper Fi: Her unit of Marine Raider fairies.
- Shout-Out: One of her quotes is "Narwhals, Narwhals, swimmin' in the ocean~"
- Southern-Fried Submarine: Even moreso than Louisiana, but not to Houston's.
- You Are Already Dead: Her quote is a reference to the Trope Namer.
Dolphin (SS-169)
- "The rest of you all should be ashamed of yourselves. I can't even fire half these torpedoes without flipping myself over, and you let ME get MVP?"
One of the so-called "V-Boats", she is the Moe Anthropomorphism of USS Dolphin. She is depicted as a blonde young girl in a swimsuit wearing a Navy captain's uniform.
- BFG: Or rather, a torpedo tube modeled after a shotgun.
- Boisterous Weakling: In a way. Dolphin was an older submarine design, her engines were never upgraded, and a lackluster combat record having spent most of the war performing training duties at Pearl Harbor. She lampshades this in her MVP line.
- Coat Cape
- Cute Little Fangs
- A Day in the Limelight: Gets hers alongside U-2513 here◊.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Her personality is modeled after one. This comes from her time as a training ship.
- Femme Fatalons
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: This stems mostly from her attitude, rather than being outright evil.
- Slasher Smile
- Team Mom: For the submarines, admittedly a more demanding and strict mother than most, but one none the less.
- A Day in the Limelight: They get theirs in this blog.
- Always Identical Twins: While most ship girls within the same class are usually just given similar costumes or accessories, this pair is unique in that they're depicted this way instead. As they noted they were summoned together, same height, clothing sizes, eye and hair colors. Sailfish suspects it because of how intertwined their historical counterparts were.
Sculpin (SS-191)
- "Aww. Don't feel too bad. Things'll start looking up. Just you wait."
The ship girl version of USS Sculpin. Depicted as a young woman with silver hair wearing headphones riding a torpedo.
- Boyish Short Hair: As opposed to Sailfish's Tomboyish Ponytail.
- Headphones Equal Isolation: This is clearly her situation on the cover image of the Main Characters page.
- Idiot Hair: What tells her apart from her twin sister
- Mellow Fellow: Compared to her more Neat Freak-ish sister. She calls it being "Lazily Happy."
- Nerves of Steel: She remains just as calm in battle as she is on base.
- The Pollyanna: always prefers to focus on the positive of a situation, even her historical sinking.
- Red Oni: To Sailfish's Blue Oni.
- Riding the Bomb / Rocket Ride: Or rather, torpedo. It's a reference to the ship's emblem.
- A Wizard Did It: her general opinion on how most ship girl equipment works it just "Magic"
Sailfish (SS-192)
- "I am not "Squailfish". Could you please stop calling me that!"
The Moe Anthropomorphism of USS Sailfish. Originally named Squalus but was renamed after being recommissioned following a mechanical failure that caused her to sink in 1939. Appears as a young woman with a ponytail also wearing headphones.
- Blue Oni: To Sculpin's Red.
- Combat Medic: apparently she can repair some battle damage, giving her this role, she is still a submarine first though.
- Do Not Call Me "Paul": prefers to go by Sal, calling her by historical monikers particularly Squalus and Squailfish is forbidden.
- Innocent Blue Eyes: Which tells her apart from her twin sister.
- In-Series Nickname: Sal.
- Meaningful Rename: Technically sunk in 1939 as Squalus, but was raised and recommissioned as Sailfish.
- Neat Freak: Oh boy, is she ever, thanks to the incident above happening. Specifically, she is obsessed with keeping all of her equipment in top shape.
- The Reliable One: STEC recommends that she plays this role for the other girls since she likes to take care of equipment
- Tomboyish Ponytail: Her hairstyle.
- Wrench Wench: focuses on mechanical repair and maintenance. No skill as inventing new gear though.
Tambor (SS-198)
The personification of USS Tambor.
- BFG: She wields a massive Oerlikon 20mm autocannon.
- Cloudcuckoolander: Her introduction establishes that she...doesen't exactly think like her two sisters.
- Idiot Hair: A particularly long one that stands out from the rest of her hair.
Tautog (SS-199)
Based on the second Tambor-class submarine, Tautog is a new shipgirl introduced via Pacific's website rather than through the usual art book format.
- A Day in the Limelight: How she's introduced, actually. Can be seen here.
- Friendly Sniper: Pretty chatty and down-to-earth, and presumably a really good shot with her Springfield.
- Genius Bruiser: Knows a lot about the "Silent Service" of World War II, particularly day-to-day operations, while also being trained in sub combat herself.
- Hostile Show Takeover: Her sub-corner is regularly taken over by one or more characters.
- Ms. Exposition: On Pacific's main website, she's usually there to explain the history of the US Navy's submarines.
- Ms. Fanservice: She tends to get a lot of artwork showing her curves.
- Signature Headgear: Has a fish-shaped hairpin on the right side of her hair, presumably the one she's named after.
- Wrench Wench: Stated by other subgirls to have a really good background with submarine technology.
Trout (SS-202)
Trout is the personification of USS Trout (SS-202).
- Born Unlucky: Her historical counterpart was sunk during World War II.
Batfish (SS-310)
Batfish is based on the USS Batfish, which is now a museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
- Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Arguably even moreso than Iowa, as a lot of STEC personnel and ship girls barely know she exists.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: While she is shown to be aloof and prefers playing video games most of the time, make no mistake, she can total Abyssal patrols without anyone else even noticing.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Comes with wearing black clothing and being on the side of humanity.
- Gamer Chick: She turns out to be an avid gamer, as shown here.
- In-Series Nickname: Bats.
Cusk (SS-348)
Cusk is based on the USS Cusk, one of the Balao class submarines commissioned after World War II.
- Gadgeteer Genius: If being capable of setting up a launchpad for actual V-1 Buzzbombs and being able to successfully launch them is any indicator...
- Improbable Weapon User: Uses a Republic-Ford JB-2, an American copy of the infamous V-1 Buzz bomb, rather than the much more common torpedo tube or Hand Cannon.
- Mad Scientist: Downplayed example, as she has quite the fixation for rockets and missiles.
Pampanito (SS-383)
Based on the USS "Pampanito", which is currently a museum ship in San Francisco.
