Pranco-Bitish Commonwealth/Commonwealth of Nations

    open/close all folders

    General
  • The Alliance: The Pranco-Bitish Commonwealth has its origins in the Entente Cordiale, a series of treaties and agreements between the Isle and Prance which ended nearly a thousand years of geopolitical rivalry and the establishment of friendly relationships which paved the way for a military alliance against Imperial Germaney. It would go onto develop into the Pranco-Bitish Commonwealth.
  • Divided We Fall: The whole point of the Pranco-Bitish Commonwealth was to avoid this by unifying both countries into one single political entity and pooling their combined strengths to ensure they would remain powerful and relevant through the rest of the 'Great Wars Era', and more immediately at the time of the union to avoid falling to their mutual enemy of Reichist Germaney.
  • The Empire: In addition to the Bitish Isles and Prance, the union of the two countries also included their Dominions and colonial holdings at the time. The joining of the two states effectively created the greatest empire on Tellus in terms of territorial extent and population and revitalized the two declining nations.
  • The Federation: The Pranco-Bitish Commonwealth is the result of the political, economic and military unification between the Bitish Empire/Commonwealth and the Third Prench Republic, along with their respective Dominions and colonial holdings during the Second Great War.
  • Truth in Television: The idea of a Franco-British Union had actually been floated during the early to mid 20th centuries in response to the crisis and conflicts which the two countries faced. It was in fact first proposed in 1940 as the 'Fall of France' to Nazi Germany is imminent, as a means to keep France fighting in the war, but was rejected out of hand from the French side for being a 'British land-grab' of their colonies. It was proposed again in 1956 during the Suez Crisis, and that too was rejected, this time from the British side. With the benefit of historical hindsight, both countries' refusal to take their cooperation to the next level out of nationalistic sentiments most certainly sealed their fates as declining empires who would go on to lose their statuses as Great Powers. Things happened differently in the Codexverse, with the Bitish and Prench decided to unite in 1940 to stand together against Reichist Germaney and staying united afterwards.

United Kingdom of the Bitish Isles (AKA the Isle of Pony)

    General
  • Arch-Enemy: Sees the 'Wellsian Maretians' as one following the Maretian Invasion of 1894. During the 'Second Great War' they found one in Reichist Germaney. Also has one in the supervillain Calculous, the Broken Cog, though that one was self-inflicted.
  • Darkest Hour: Experienced this during the 'Second Great War, when the Isle of Pony is about to be invaded by Reichist Germaney and their Axis allies following the overrunning of Prance and taking the war to the newly formed Pranco-Bitish Alliance (later Commonwealth) at their other capital after the fall of Mareris. This turned out to be a good thing as the conditions are fulfilled for the return of Queen Sunsparkle, the legendary warrior-queen of Friendship Gardens which once reigned over the Isles and had promised to return in its Darkest Hour. She proceeded to awaken from the crypt she was resting, join forces with the armies and heroes defending the Bitish Isles and help beat back the Reichist invasion.
  • The Empire: At one point, the Isle of Pony/Bitish Isles experienced imperialism phases that saw them creating a massive colonial empire across the world like their inspiration the British Empire. It's not portrayed in a positive light, as King Skyline himself pointed out the fact that went on conquering large parts of the world, committing atrocities against natives as well as persecuting those who don't fit their ideal social and cultural standards in their arrogance means that they had to keep the contents of the Isle of Pony's ancient secrets the Royal Family had been charged with guarding hidden from even their own subjects and government, knowing full well what they might do with them at their worst.
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: Of the British Isles and the United Kingdoms.
  • It's Personal: It's heavily implied they have a serious grudge against the Maretians, especially those from the 'Wellsian' race, for their devastating 1894 invasion.

The Isle/Bitish Royal Family

    General
  • Ancient Order of Protectors: The Royal Family of the Isle were originally members of an ancient order that had been charged to keeping safe and hidden a sizeable collection of ancient, magical artifacts, entities and lore from those who might misuse them or destroy them, ensuring that many of those who survived the decline of magic over the course of the First/Second Age as well as the anti-magic purges and crusades of the Interregnum, but also they won't be used to wreak havoc and would be available for heroic individuals worthy of wielding them to access them. At some point, they and their objectives evolved (or joined a wider alliance and then moved up from there) until the Royal Family were co-heads of a world-spanning Ancient Conspiracy - the Custodes Magicum - whose mission was expanded to include the preservation of all magic and fantastical beings from Interregnum, becoming its Arch-Enemy.

    King Skyline

    Queen Starburst

  • Cain and Abel: She's the Abel to her evil sister Spring Heart's Cain.

    Princess Winter Song

    Prince Sincere Heart

    Crown-Princess/Queen Rosy

  • Humongous Mecha: Her power is similar enough to the Power Rangers' powers that Neighjor was able to make her a Zord, the Eternal Lion Zord.
  • Lost Orphaned Royalty: She was lost at sea when she was a baby and ended up in an orphanage in Ponyville thanks to her Evil Aunt Princess Spring Heart. Thanks to Patch and the rest of the Seven, she was reunited with her parents.
  • Sixth Ranger: She is chosen by another of the Isle's hidden secrets, the Eternal Scepter, which like the Tales Seven's Weapons of Virtue, comes with a powerful armored form and superpowers. This is because it was made by the Genesis Sovereign's sibling, the Perpetuity Sovereign, and is thus the 'cousin' to the Weapons of Virtue. This made her the unofficial eighth member of the Seven's group and the unofficial sixth member of the Power Rangers. She is compared to the 'Extra Heroes' of the latter franchise.

    The Queen Mother

  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: The unnamed Queen Mother is known for possessing... bizarre tastes. Like having a relationship and sleeping with the super-vampire Atlocard from the Hellsing Organization (while he was in a female form, no less!) during the Blitz, and a macrabre fascination with death and destruction owing to her request to Hellsing to film Reichist supervillain Sturmbannfuhrer's death. She was also an Iron Lady and The Dreaded among many, even her own family, for her steel resolve and cunning leadership during the Second Great War as well as being a co-head of the Custodes Magicum.
  • Blood Knight: Downplayed, but she requested Atlocard and Hellsing Organization to record themselves killing Sturmbannfuhrer when they finally get to him and destroyed his Millennium organization, so she could, to quote, "fall asleep to it every night". While King Skyline and Queen Starburst winced in horror, Atlocard enthusiastically agreed and remarked how much he 'missed' her.
  • The Dreaded: Described as possessing an 'unsettling' character which unnerves and intimidates even her own family (when not occasionally embarrassing them with her own eccentricities)
  • Iron Lady: She was the reigning queen at the time of the 'Second Great War' and led her country to victory over the Axis Powers with iron resolve and 'deviously'-cunning leadership.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: While recalling her youthful tryst with Altocard, she laments that she was a much more beautiful mare back then. Altocard disagrees.
The Queen Mother: Well, well... if it isn't 'Allie'. Your skin is still as smooth as when I felt it on my own...
Altocard: You KNOW it. Reminds me for when I keep your bed warm during the Blitz.
The Queen Mother: Those were better days, Atlocard. I was younger... beautiful!
  • Too Much Information: Her conversation with Atlocard after meeting him again decades later revealed a little bit too much about her relationship with him than many present (up to and including her own daughter Queen Starburst) would like.
Atlocard: [After she laments about her age] Oh shut up you old hag, I'll still WRECK you like Spring Heart!
The Queen Mother: [Chuckles] Oh, you know exactly what to say to [CENSORED] me up.
Queen Starburst: Oh for the love of - MOTHER!

Other residents

    Wang Chan
A Chineighese black market dealer and occultist who later became one of Dio Brando's loyal minions.

    Spitting Blood
A colthood friend of Radiant E. O. Speedwagon, and a member of the now-defunct Londoneighium Devils gang.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, he was a knife wielder who suffered a Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of Jonathan Joestar. Here, it's implied he and Long Fei Zhua were more successful, with Gifted Goldstar barely winning against them. After the decimation of the Londoneighium Devils by Dio Brando's zombies, he helped fight against the supernatural hordes, becoming an ally of Helwyr Nos, the group Gifted and Speedwagon became part of.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, his name was Tattoo. Here, he's called Spitting Blood, with Tattoo being a nickname.

    Long Fei Zhua
A colthood friend of Radiant E. O. Speedwagon, and a member of the now-defunct Londoneighium Devils gang.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, he was a martial artist who suffered a Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of Jonathan Joestar. Here, it's implied he and Spitting Blood were more successful, with Gifted Goldstar barely winning against them. After the decimation of the Londoneighium Devils by Dio Brando's zombies, he helped fight against the supernatural hordes, becoming an ally of Helwyr Nos, the group Gifted and Speedwagon became part of.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, his name was Kempo Fighter. Here, he's called Long Fei Zhua.

Third Prench Republic

    General
  • Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys: Subverted. Due to changes in the course of events, Prance never surrendered during the Second Great War in the face of Reichist Germaney's onslaught, instead politically, militarily and economically unifying with the Bitish Empire in order to coordinate their combined capabilities and resources together in order to continue the fight.
  • Gay Paree: Mareris, Codexverse Expy of Paris, retains its reputation as the city of light, although unlike in Real Life it is not untouched by events where Paris escaped unscathed. During the Hundred Years War it was nearly levelled by a demonically-empowered and vengeful Graceux De'Arc, who was absolutely pissed-off at being abandoned by Prance to be burnt at the stake by the Equish and was only stopped by the intervention of Shining Lance, the Eternal Light amidst the streets of Mareris. During the Fall of Prance in the Second Great War, because Prance never surrendered, Mareris became a battleground like the rest of the nation and the site of fierce fighting between Prench/Bitish troops and the invading Germane Reichists. It had also been the home of Moufette in the Second Age.
