Paradise Estate/Empire

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Hegemonic Empire: In its heyday, under the rule of the Williams siblings, the Paradise Empire was a benevolent empire whose occupants included not only Ponies, but also members of non-Pony races like the Ponyfriends. This was implied to be an accidental consequence of the Williams siblings, the Ponies of Paradise Estate, and others defeating all the threats that were plaguing the lands at the time.

Megann Wilms/Megan Williams, the Rainbow Empress

  • Abstract Apotheosis: By the Second Age of Known History she was worshipped as a Messianic Archetype known as the "Mag'ne", and sometimes as an outright god herself. Given the mechanics of divinity and apotheosis in the Codexverse, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that she actually might had Ascended into godhood after all she did for the Ponies of Dream Valley.
  • Adaptational Badass: In MLP G1 canon, Megan Williams is the Audience Surrogate Badass Normal Kid Hero who came over a magical Rainbow to G1 Ponyland to help and save the Ponies of Paradise Estate from various threats and dangers. Here, Megann Wilms, her actual name and counterpart, is implied to be an Empowered Badass Normal (involving presumably the legendary Rainbow of Light) who became The Empress of a Paradise Estate that under her leadership became a world-spanning hegemonic empire that conquered/destroyed all said dangers and threats, building such a heroic legacy and reputation that by the 'Second Age', tens of thousands of years later, she has became a Messianic Archetype at the heart of several religions, who revered her as the Mag'ne and also invokes her similarly heroic siblings in a reverent manner.
  • The Ageless: It's implied that her bond to the Rainbow of Light turned her into this, allowing her to lead the expansion of the Paradise Empire across the world during the First Age of Known History.
  • The Empress: It's in the title she ended up racking up, and likely a particularly awesome one since it's mentioned/implied that under her leadership, Paradise Estate went from being a small sanctuary settlement of Ponies surrounded by various hostile forces and powers to a world-spanning hegemonic empire whose reach goes as far as the Notusia.
  • Final Solution: Had to do this with the rest of the Paradise Empire against the menace known as the 'Flo'rezz Infestation'. It took a monumental effort and alliance with the Craanasti (also known as the Crab Nasties), the plants' most implacable foe and other civilizations and factions for the Paradise Empire to beat them back and annihilate them down to the last plant, the last bud and the last spore. Megann personally destroyed the last living bud and render them extinct, at least according to legend.
  • Legend Fades to Myth: Her name and deeds had been badly distorted by the 'Second Age' that she became a god-like messianic figure known as the 'Mag'ne', worshiped and invoked by worshippers of the 'Magnean Religions'. The canon depiction is also implied to exist in-universe by the Fourth Age as a heavily-downplayed and edited adaptation of her, her siblings and their Pony companions' lives and adventures.
  • Summon Everyman Hero: While there are a lot of myths and stories about her, one constant is that, before becoming the hero of Ponyland, she was simply an ordinary human girl.

    Mollia Wilms/Molly Williams, the Worldspeaker
Mollia/Molly is Megann Wilms' younger sister, and the Archdruidess of the First-Age Paradise Empire.
  • Adaptational Badass: In MLP G1 canon, she is a typical kid sidekick to her big sister. Here, she's the Paradise Empire's archdruidess and a legendary heroine like Megann/Megan.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Her first name is Mollia instead of Molly here.

    Dennis Wilms/Danny Williams
Dennis/Danny is Megan Wilms' younger brother.

Paradise Estate

    General
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Many Paradise Ponies fell in love and had children with their partners in the Codexverse, whereas in canon, they didn't do this.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Many Paradise Ponies are genuinely benevolent and nice, but they also fought some of the most dangerous threats of the First Age, and were willing to kill villains if it'll prevent them from hurting innocent people.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Many Paradise Ponies were established heroes who clashed with the likes of the Hydianites, Fallen gods, and even monsters. They were also not afraid to kill if it'll protect innocent people.

    Fifi

  • Good Parents: She's implied to be a good mother to her daughter, Fifi II/Baby Fifi, as she let her daughter befriend (and eventually date and marry) Moufette despite having been tortured by his mother, Smellba.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. She shares her name with both her daughter, Fifi II/Baby Fifi, as well as Chiot Moufette's divine pet poodle, Fifi.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Defied. Despite having been a victim of torture by Moufette's mother, Smellba, she didn't hate Moufette for it and even let him befriend her daughter, Fifi II/Baby Fifi.

    Fifi II/Baby Fifi

  • Crossover Relatives: She would date and eventually marry Moufette, who is an expy of Pepé Le Pew.
  • Death by Adaptation: Here, she died of old age because she never desired godhood or sought it like her husband and daughter did. This didn't happen in canon.
  • Interspecies Romance: She's a mortal Pony, while her husband was Moufette, a sapient male Skunk who would later become the progenitor of both divine and mortal Skunkkind. Their daughter would be Chiot Moufette, a Skunk Pony hybrid.
  • Missing Mom: Justified. She loved her family, but never desired godhood and chose to die a mortal death. This devastated her husband, Moufette, and their daughter, Chiot Moufette, but they would both get through it. Her death also led to Chiot discovering her domain of Comfort while comforting her father.

    Heart Throb

  • Divine Date: She falls in love with Amareros, who agreed to be her matchmaker on Majesty's request but ended up falling for her as well. They eventually get married, but their relationship is a Mayfly–December Romance due to her being a mortal Pony.
  • Interspecies Romance: She's a mortal Pony, whereas her coltfriend and eventual husband, Amareros, is a Cosmic Entity who can take on a physical form. This led to their daughter, Princess Carnation, becoming a divine hybrid.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: She was a mortal Paradise Pony who dated and eventually married Amareros, a Grand Primeval who is likely millions or perhaps billions of years old. Still, they were both Happily Married and sired children of their own (including Princess Carnation, who would become a member of the Amaredae) during the time she was alive.

    Heart Throb II/Baby Heart Throb

  • Cool Big Sis: She was born through the Foal-Making Mirror, sometime before her mother married Amareros and had Princess Carnation. It was implied that she loved Carnation dearly and was a good big sister to her.

    Posey

Ponyfriends

    General
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, the Ponyfriends were part of a G1 toyline. In the Codexverse, they're ancient, powerful deities who created their own sapient races.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Much like their Pony neighbors, many Ponyfriends fell in love and had multiple children with various partners, which they didn't do in canon.
  • Canon Character All Along: All of the Ponyfriends are part of MLP canon as part of Hasbro's G1 "Ponyfriends" toyline. In the Codexverse, they all Ascended to godhood thanks to Zigzag, whose real identity is Queen Mzazi, teaching them how to do so.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Being the first sapient members of their respective races, the Ponyfriends share a very close friendship with each other, which stayed strong despite all of them Ascending to godhood. And as indicated by their group name, they also have good relations with the Ponies of Paradise Estate.
  • Karmic Jackpot: The first generation of Ponyfriends befriended Queen Mzazi while she was incarnated as the mortal Zebra Zigzag. When Mzazi later regained her memories and true divine form, she repaid the Ponyfriends' kindness by helping them Ascend to godhood.
  • The Maker: Each of the Ponyfriends help create various sapient races that now exist in the Codexverse, such as Felines, Elephants, Llamas, Zebras, and Kangaroos.

Big Brother Ponies

    General
  • Adaptational Badass: The Big Brother Ponies in MLP canon were featured as a toyline, and while they did appear in My Little Pony 'n Friends, they were easily ensnared by Somnambula's magic. In the Codexverse, they are Mutants whose genes give them enhanced natural strength and endurance, and they fought hoof-to-hoof with many more threats of the First Age besides Somnambula.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Some of the Big Brother Ponies, like Barnacle and Quarterback, settled down and had children, creating family bloodlines that would survive up to the Fourth Age.
  • Cool Big Bro: The Big Brother Ponies got their name from not only their huge size, but also their brotherly relationships with the other Paradise Ponies. This was best shown in Quarterback, who befriended a young Pillow Talk by protecting her from bullies.
  • Gentle Giant: The Big Brother Ponies were bigger than normal Ponies thanks to a special gene they were named after. They also acted like "big brother"-figures for the Paradise Ponies, which partially influenced their name.
  • Mutants: The Big Brother Ponies have a special gene that makes them bigger than normal stallions and gives them both Super-Strength and Super-Toughness.
  • Spear Counterpart: They're the male counterpart of the Sweetheart Sister Ponies, who are born with the same mutant genes and possess the same abilities, but become taller yet slimmer.

Captain Barnacle Moosepelt, the First Pirate King

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Type: Pirate Captain, Earth Pony, Big Brother Pony, Peace Main, Pirate King

Faction: Dream Kingdom, Paradise Empire

Captain Barnacle Moosepelt (his entry here) is a benevolent pirate associated with the Dream Kingdom/Paradise Empire and the inuniverse codifier for benevolent pirates.
  • Arch-Enemy: Has one in Captain 'Red Flag' Morganeer, a vicious, murderous plunderer who would go on to codify the 'Morganeer' type of evil vicious pirates. They would frequently clash whenever they cross paths and develop a deep rivalry, which would finally escalate to all-out war when other pirates and sailors began calling them as the 'King of Pirates' - and both decide there can only be one.
  • Cool Ship: Barnacle first commands the Peace Main, which would become the name for the type of Friendly Pirate he embodies. By the time of the war for the Pirate King title he has with his Arch-Enemy he would command the Gold Roger, the previous ship implied to be lost at some point.
  • Final Battle: His climatic battle with Captain 'Red Flag' Morganeer for the title of Pirate King at the 'Battle of the Devil's Eye' is the stuff of legends. It was one of the largest naval engagements in Known History with up to 800-1100 ships from both their fleets and their allies fleets combined (For reference, the Battle of Actium in RL only has around 780-800 and is the largest to happen in the West in terms of ship numbers), and decisive engagement occurred in the gigantic whirlpool of Devil's Eye, where Barnacle's flagship Gold Roger Morganeer's flagship Sea Devil dueled within the swirling currents and their captains dueled with swords on the decks and masts of both ships, even as the rest of their fleets pummeled each other within and around the great whirlpool.
  • Friendly Pirate: Captain Barnacle is responsible for codifying the archetype of the 'Peace Main' (named after his first ship), being a heroic, dashing heroic pirate who seeks adventure and treasure on the high seas more than plunder, and even then only on the unscrupulous and wicked targets.
  • Large and in Charge: As a Big Brother Pony, he is larger than the average stallion. He is also a dashing heroic pirate captain who would first command a ship and later go on to have a whole fleet under his command.
  • Pirate: Of the Friendly Pirate variety.

    Quarterback
Quarterback is a Big Brother Pony, the husband of Pillow Talk (now Queen Dulce Somnii Paradise), and the co-ruler of the Paradise dream realm.
  • Age Lift: He's tens of thousands of years old in the Codexverse due to having Ascended to godhood.
  • Big Brother Instinct: When he saw Pillow Talk being bullied by foals for having an "ugly" Cutie Mark (which was caused by her "Twice as Fancy" mutation), he defended her and angrily chewed out the bullies for their pettiness. This led to Pillow Talk befriending him out of gratitude.
Quarterback: So what if she got an 'ugly' Rump Design?! That still doesn't give you the right to act like jerks!
  • Childhood Friend Romance: He befriended a young Pillow Talk after defending her from bullies, and while he had been in love with her for four Ages, Pillow Talk's trauma prevented him from acting out on it. It's not until the Fourth Age that Pillow Talk finally returned his feelings, and they got married.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He was originally a mortal Earth Pony who Ascended to godhood.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His act of defending a young Pillow Talk from bullies would later inspire her to defend the weak and innocent, kicking off a series of events that led to Pillow Talk Ascending to godhood as one of the Somareia.

    Tayshan Border, the Wandering Hero
Tayshan Border is a Big Brother Pony and the First Age ancestor of the Vaughoof brothers, Sunny Field and Moon Ray.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In the Codexverse, it's implied he fell in love and started a family, creating a bloodline that would eventually birth the Vaughoof brothers, Sunny Field and Moon Ray, in the Second Age.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In canon, his name is Tex. In the Codexverse, his full name is Tayshan Border, with "Tex" being a foalhood nickname that stuck.
  • Crossover Relatives: One of his sons is revealed here to be Mountain Mane. In their respective canons, they weren't related at all.
  • Heroic Lineage: He's the First Age ancestor of the Vaughoof brothers, Sunny Field and Moon Ray, both who inherited his "Big Brother" gene.
  • Meaningful Name: Tayshan comes from the Caddo Indian word "tashya", which translates to "friend" and/or "ally" in their language.
