The Employees

     In General
  • A Father to His Men: To some extent, all of the Department Heads display this towards their underlings, with one their primary objectives being to have as many of their people survive despite their dangerous line of work.
    • Joe is the most openly friendly of the Department Heads, and all of their subordinates look to them with respect.
    • Shasha comes off as stern and aloof most of the time, but they often buy food and offer encouragement to their employees when they've shown growth.
    • Beebi is a strict disciplinarian who's extremely tough on their employees, but as the head of the Safety Team, they're always concerned with their underlings' wellbeing first and foremost.
    • Daisy, despite acting aloof and somewhat eccentric, becomes enraged the moment their subordinates are in danger.
    • Even Suho, for all their idiosyncrasies, will not hesitate to put their own life on the line if it means the most people possible can survive danger.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Nearly every human character introduced is referred to via gender-neutral terms and are designed to be androgynous (with a few exceptions appearing more feminine or masculine, but are still given the same treatment). In the original Korean version of Wonderlab, the characters are not given any pronouns and are simply referred to by their names.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Instead of the Sefirot that HQ has, the strongest, most authoritive Agent of each department becomes the Department Head. The Team Captains also count, as they're the strongest Agents of their respective teams.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: The standard work uniform for Lobotomy Corporation Agents is a black suit, and many of the E.G.O. suits (with a few exceptions) have appearances similar to stylized suits.
  • Only One Name: Characters in Wonderlab only ever address one another by their given names, and neither canon nor supplemental materials indicate any of their family names (if they have any).
  • Palette Swap: The E.G.O Suits of the Department Heads (and some Agents) come from Aberrations, which are subspecies of various Abnormalities that display differences in behavior and appearance. As such, the suits look very much like the original counterparts, but colored differently.
    • Joe: Wears a blue version of Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary's E.G.O Suit, Crimson Scar. This suit comes from The Blue-Smocked Shepherd.
    • Daisy: Wears a pink version of Alriune's E.G.O suit, Faint Aroma. This suit comes from Pygmalion.
    • Beebi: Wears a yellow version of Queen Bee's E.G.O suit, Hornet.
    • Shasha: Wears a red version of Big and Will-Be-Bad Wolf's E.G.O suit, Cobalt Scar. This suit comes from Reddened Buddy.
    • Suho: Wears a slightly varied version of Little Prince's E.G.O Suit, Spore.
    • Toma: Wears a beige Sanguine Desire, the E.G.O. of the Red Shoes. This suit likely comes from The Penitent Girl.
    • Ella: Wears a dark grey version of Solitude, the E.G.O of the Old Lady.
    • Finn: Wears a grey grey recolor of the E.G.O. of Forsaken Murderer, Regret.
  • Vague Age: Almost none of the Wonderlab characters are given specific ages, but they all appear to be old enough to have jobs, at the very least.
    • However, MIMI had provided some info on the age groups of the Department Heads (save for Beebi, whose given an exact age)
      • Joe: Late 20s-Early 30s
      • Daisy: Mid-Late 30s
      • Suho: Mid 20s
      • Beebi: 20 years old
      • Shasha: Late 20s-Early 30s (same as Joe)
  • World of Technicolor Hair: The hair colors of the characters in Wonderlab range from natural shades like black, brown, and blonde, to more outlandish hues like blue, green, or pink.

Team Captains

     Catt
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/catt_portrait.png
"A puny little rat complementing another rat? Catt doesn't get this at all."

The captain of the Disciplinary Team. Despite their indifference to the employees around them and overall ruthlessness, they're said to be one of the most capable employees within the facility.

  • Animal Motifs: If it weren't obvious from their name, Catt is heavily associated with cats. They take to hunting Abnormalities as if the fights are little more than sport, their pupils occasionally shown expanding and contracting like a cat's pupils, and they often refer to other, weaker Agents as "rats" and "mice". The Abnormality that represents their lingering humanity, Gone with a Simple Smile, even references the Cheshire Cat of Alice in Wonderland fame.
  • Blood Knight: Catt takes an inordinate amount of joy in fighting Abnormalities, constantly leaping into battle with a grin, or even laughing. This even extends to the panic suppression aspect of the job, where they take glee in the idea of clocking someone on the head to bring them back to their senses. Not even the prospect of mercy killing a fellow employee can do much to dampen their smile.
  • Break the Cutie: In their early days of working in the Lobotomy Corporation, Catt was a timid, uncertain person who looked up to their seniors and was afraid of the horrific events they saw unfolding around them. The stresses of their job and having to constantly watch their seniors die or lose their minds one by one made them unable to cope with living in society among regular people, and eventually pushed them to the point of attempted suicide. Even after surviving that, they made the conscious decision to cut off their own emotions for the sake of keeping themself alive and relatively sane.
  • Broken Pedestal: After witnessing a senior they admired beat a fellow employee to death while undergoing a Murder-type panic reaction, Catt decided to cut off their heart for the sake of surviving within the facility.
  • Bungled Suicide: When Catt crosses the Despair Event Horizon in their backstory, their attempt to eat the cake on top of Bottle of Tears was this, but it didn't work because Catt was too physically and mentally strong to die.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Though most Agents eventually get used to the horrors within Branch O-5681, Catt is particularly depicted as one of the most well-adjusted characters in the series (though their adjusted mindset is likely a result of their Despair Event Horizon). In addition, Catt doesn't hesitate to act when an Abnormality breaches or when an employee goes insane, regardless of the horrors that ensue.
  • Consistent Clothing Style: They're almost always wearing loose-fitting pants with their outfits (exceptions being their sleepwear and casual wear, which have them wearing shorts).
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Wonderlab's not a sequel, but they appear to be one to Gebura from Branch X-394 (aka Lobotomy Corp HQ) also holding domain over the Disciplinary Team.
    • Gebura was once The Red Mist, a high-ranking fixer (specifically, a Color fixer) and one of the strongest in the City. Thus, she was capable of suppressing Abnormalities on her own quite innately. Meanwhile, Catt learnt how to suppress Abnormalities because a senior they had greatly admired went insane before being killed. While Gebura still has her own Dark and Troubled Past, it has nothing to do with her work at L Corp.
    • Gebura was a hotheaded, just and impulsive woman who shows constant signs of anger and irritation while Catt is cold, calculating and doesn't display their emotions through outward appearances.
    • Because of the plot differences, Catt doesn't possess any E.G.O. that is higher than HE-class while Gebura has a rather impressive collection of ALEPH E.G.Os.
    • Gebura was eventually ironed out by Ayin letting her rampage around Facility X-394 and was granted eternal life by Angela. Catt, on the other hand, ended up breaking down upon seeing the Manager's corpse and Distorted as a result.
  • Crazy Consumption: When past Catt snaps after witnessing their senior lose their mind, they head to the Containment Unit of the Bottle of Tears and eat the cake on top as a way out. They do this rather messily too, scooping a hunk of cake and icing out of the top with their hand and stuffing it straight into their face, as bits of icing and cake get stuck on their face and slip between their fingers.
  • Creepy Good: Catt has a tendency to come across as creepy due to their willingness to commit violence on their fellow employees, along with their unnervingly high threshold for gruesome sights. Nevertheless, they're firmly on the side of humanity, and will take actions that can benefit other people as well as the Corporation.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Catt has black hair and black eyes.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Despite acting emotionally distant to their fellow agents, Catt begins to act kinder to Rose and Taii after the suppression of Hookah Caterpillar, though unintentionally.
  • Despair Event Horizon:
    • After watching a senior employee - someone they deeply admired - beat another innocent employee to death, Catt seems to have snapped; they decided that not having a heart was the safest way to survive in Lobotomy Corporation, and intentionally activated Bottle of Tears' ability, ignoring the original advice their senior had given them.
    • Undergoes another one in Episode 48. After discovering that the branch they'd worked in had basically been operating without a Manager for all of that time, Catt had come to the conclusion that all of the suffering they and the rest of the L-Corp employees had been subjected to was for nothing. They felt that the human heart cannot be discarded or strengthened, and that the heart has no choice but to die. Shortly afterwards, they begin to undergo a Distortion.
Catt: On the way up here, I wished our deaths and sorrows would yield a better result of some kind. I wished there'd be something done by the human heart.
The heart was doomed to wither. It was doomed to twist and distort.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Catt has possibly the palest skin tone out of the whole cast, with jet black hair to boot. Their unsettling manner, constant wide-eyed stares, and penchant for smiling or laughing at inappropriate times only serves to hammer home to other characters just how eerie they tend to act in the eyes of their peers.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In Episode 1, Catt establishes themself by chiding Parker for not thinking their actions through before stepping into Dingle Dangle's Containment Unit, effortlessly taking down Dingle Dangle, and observing the horrified reactions of the onlookers with a smile.
  • Fork Fencing: Their E.G.O weapon is a large spoon capable of dealing BLACK damage.
  • Heroic BSoD: After successfully suppressing Piscine Mermaid, Catt undergoes this, before bluntly telling their fellow Disciplinary Agents to never get close to them again.
  • I Am a Monster: If their conversation with the Piscine Mermaid is anything to go by, Catt thinks of themself as soulless and incapable of love.
  • I Know You're Watching Me: On occasion, Catt will stare directly into the lens of a nearby security camera, as if to let the Manager or whoever else is at the monitor know that they're aware of their presence. In a somewhat sadder moment, Catt in their early days talked into the camera at points, venting their worries and voicing their hopes for the strength to survive their dangerous workplace.
  • Laughing Mad: After witnessing their most admired senior murder other Agents while in a Panic, Catt begins grinning and laughing while declaring their intent to throw away their heart and emotions as the only way to survive in "wonderland".
  • No Mouth: Sometimes Catt is depicted without a mouth. It's purely stylistic if nothing else.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Catt refers to themself in the first person during the latter half of the Piscine Mermaid arc, first starting when they accept the mermaid's gift and nearly succumb to her temptations, and they continue to speak this way long after the fact (Rose's death certainly doesn't help).
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Catt is by and large one of the smallest combatant Agents in Branch O-5681, and often engages in combat with Abnormalities several times larger than them, yet they firmly remain one of the strongest Agents their branch has to offer.
  • Reflectionless Useless Eyes: Catt's irises and pupils are pitch-black, giving them a more-or-less ruthless impression.
  • Redemption Rejection: Taii manages to un-distort Catt, but Catt ends up re-distorting soon afterward, since they find it hard to both forgive themself for what they've done and lean on the help of others. However, Catt states they won't forget who they are, and departs the facility.
  • Stopped Caring: To save what sanity wasn't taken from working at the Corporation, Catt proceeds to become apathetic towards their fellow employees while doing the bare minimum of their job requirements. After a run-in with Piscine Mermaid where they nearly give in to the Abnormality before inadvertently causing it to breach, Catt ultimately doubles down on this idea and declares their intention to never let anyone get close to them ever again.
  • Sticks to the Back: Outside of Episode 1, Catt keeps their E.G.O weapon on their back for easy access in case it's needed. Slightly Averted in that there's a strap on the back of their shirt for the weapon to slide through.
  • Third-Person Person: Catt refers to themself in the third person. According to Episode 22, this is done as as a way to distance and protect themself from the chaos that occurs within the facility; they spoke in first person beforehand.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Catt likes foods with beef in them. They've also acquired a taste for a particular brand of soda called "Suck My Energy", and can be seen drinking it throughout the comic.
  • Trouser Space: Exclusive to Episode 1, Catt is seen keeping their E.G.O. weapon stored up the leg of their suit, shaking it into their hand when it's needed.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Catt is by no means stupid, as they are aware of the capabilities of their fellow employees, and they certainly have the strength to take on enemies. However, there are times where they underplay the potential value of their coworkers a bit too much, especially in the case of Rose and Taii. The same thing also goes for certain abnormalities like The Road Home and Piscine Mermaid.

     Toma
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tomatransparent.png

The captain of the Control Team. Good-natured and chivalrous.

  • Blade on a Rope: Keeps their axe attached to themself by tying it to a long, dark gray ribbon/bandage to the handle, allowing them to wield it at both close and long range.
  • Nice Guy: When describing Toma, Beozzi calls them "too chivalrous". In general, Toma is shown to be a very kind individual who attempts to help others when they're capable of it.

     Rza
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rza.png

The captain of the Information Team, and a friend of Dal, the Safety Team Captain. Cool-headed and rational.

  • Cool Sword: Rza's E.G.O. weapon of choice is a red bladed sword with a blue hilt.
  • Delinquent Hair: Rza's everyday haircut consists of a long blue mohawk that falls to one side of their head. However, unlike the usual trope, they're actually very logical and not exceptionally rebellious.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In Episode 51, they stay behind with Suho to hold off "A Party Everlasting", Red Queen, The Road Home, and Scaredy Cat while Beebi and the other captains evacuate the rest of the staff.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: While Rza doesn't act like a bad person, they tend to be very cold and serious, and don't show others too much warmth due to their focus on logic. But ultimately they do show their care for others when it comes down to it, such as when Purin is recovering from the fight with Pygmalion. Despite calling Purin a "kid" for believing in the power of friendship, they're still there to check on them in their sick bed, carrying a stuffed animal as a gift for them.

     Dal
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dal.png

The captain of the Safety Team.

Dal was initially assigned to be the temporary Safety Team Captain while the captain at the time, Beozzi, would step away from the position for a while to have their body examined for any negative influence left by their E.G.O Gift, given by the Servant of Wrath.

Unfortunately, Beozzi was uncooperative and went to work on the Servant anyway, which would eventually lead to them being transformed into a Hermit by the Servant before being killed off, and so Dal was left to take the role of the Safety Team Captain permanently.

  • Apologizes a Lot: Dal has a tendency to excessively apologize for both things that are not within their control (apologizing to Beozzi for being selected as their temporary substitute) and for not behaving as they should (politely requesting that Agents take on certain work, rather than simply relaying it as an order).
  • Combat Medic: According to MIMI, Dal took on this position within Beebi's vigilante group after the fall of the Lobotomy Corporation.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Dal has black hair and black eyes.
  • Expy: Bears a striking resemblance to Tomoyo Daidouji of Cardcaptor Sakura fame. This accompanies the titular Sakura being Beozzi's basis.
  • Hitodama Light: When their E.G.O weapon is activated, a few purple wisps can be seen floating near it.
  • Making a Splash: Their E.G.O. weapon appears to give them limited control over water, which they mostly use to manipulate it into portals.
  • Portal Pool: Dal's E.G.O weapon creates portals made of water, which allows for short-distance teleportation within the facility.
  • Rank Up: Dal's promotion to Safety captain was initially only meant to be temporary. However, after Beozzi was killed after being transformed into the Hermit of the Azure Forest by the Servant of Wrath, Dal took on the position permanently.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Mostly used as an assist or defensively, but Dal's E.G.O. weapon has been shown to be able to teleport a charging enemy like the Piscine Mermaid away from an area to protect it, and into the path of other people who can more effectively deal with it.

     Purin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/puddin_4.png

The captain of the Training Team. Has a vibrant personality, and a soft heart.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Is revealed in the Epilogue to have lost their right arm off-panel while trying to help the other employees escape the collapsed facility.
  • Boom, Headshot!: A nonfatal example; Episode 25 has Purin takes three WHITE Damage bullets to the head while battling against Pygmalion. Since the bullets deal WHITE damage, they don't do any physical harm and instead decrease their sanity, but Purin is able to get the help they need before the WHITE damage ends up taking a toll on them.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Supplementary materials posted by MIMI reveals that Purin had dyed their hair purple after the collapse of L.Corp in the Epilogue.
  • Giant Poofy Sleeves: Purin's E.G.O. sleeves have two large poofs around the shoulders.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Purin's hair is blonde, and they have a very warm and cheerful personality.
  • Heart Symbol: Purin's scythe is adorned with a small heart on either end of the staff.
  • I Want My Mommy!: Purin repeatedly cries out for their mother after being attacked by Pygmalion's bullets.
  • Shipper on Deck: Has been shown to like the idea of Toma and Beozzi being together in some fashion, such as in Episode 25, where they admit that thinking of the two is what kept them from succumbing to Pygmalion's WHITE attacks.
  • Sinister Scythe: Purin's E.G.O. weapon. It deals BLACK damage.

Agents

     Rose
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rose_portrait.png
"Being reborn as a new Wing that embraces all...That's my goal. I know it's too big a dream, but it's something I must do."

An Agent of the Disciplinary Department said to come from a wealthy family.
  • Blood from Every Orifice: Is shown bleeding from their eyes and mouth moments before Staining Rose activates its ability on them.
  • Nice Guy: They tend to regularly show compassion towards employees who might have issues to handle, especially Catt and Taii. This apparently stems from their goal of wanting to start a new Wing that's actually nice to people.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: Their death is never shown on-panel, but everyone's horrified reactions are.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: What Rose believes to have done by volunteering to work on the Staining Rose. Despite knowing that they'd die a dog's death when working on Staining Rose, Rose volunteers anyway, believing that they'd be able to protect Catt (who had the same qualifications as Rose for the job) from the same fate.
  • I Hate Past Me: After realizing how poorly people have it outside the Nest, Rose hates their past self, who couldn't have been more comfortable with the status quo.
  • Irony: In Episode 8, Rose tells Taii that if anything were to happen to Taii, Rose would rush to save them; and yet, in Episode 20, Taii ends up being the one rushing to Rose's aid after the latter was attacked by Hookah Caterpillar.
  • Messy Hair: Rose's hair is uncharacteristically disheveled at the beginning of the Staining Rose arc, foreshadowing their gradual degradation throughout it. Though they do fix it before going out in public.
  • Near-Death Experience: Has had a few throughout the comic. One such instance was in Episode 19, when Hookah Caterpillar had attacked them after they've inadvertently caused it to breach. Another was in Episode 38, when they got swallowed by the Reddened Buddy before being rescued by Catt not too long after. Come Episode 46, Rose had ended up being killed by the Staining Rose.
  • Our Souls Are Different: Rose is killed by the Staining Rose, but somehow their soul transferred itself into the Abnormality's E.G.O. suit, which Taii happened to be wearing at the time of the Party Everlasting arc. The two of them are capable of communication in a manner reminiscent of the brain sending signals to the body.
  • Partial Transformation: After aggravating White Lake with their high Fortitude stat in Episode 5, the Abnormality proceeds to turn Rose's arms into wings. This transformation, while shown to annoy Rose, does little to impede them, and it doesn't last long before they simply rip the feathers off their arms and revert them back to normal.
  • Prophetic Names: A character name "Rose", who ends up getting killed by a rose.
  • Rich Kid Turned Social Activist: Rose grew up in a wealthy household and had a bountiful childhood within a Nest. Things went well, but eventually, the Smoke War had happened, which made Rose question things surrounding their privilege, including if the Wings truly were the "good guys". After discovering just how much suffering was born as a result of the Wings' actions, Rose became disillusioned, made major changes to their lifestyle, and now aims to create a new system that embraces all.
  • The Tragic Rose: Their name associating with this trope is only the tip of the iceberg for the sort of tragedies Rose endures throughout the story.
  • "You!" Exclamation: Towards the Hookah Caterpillar at the end of Episode 17. More specifically, towards their younger self, who the Hookah Caterpillar was taking the form of.
Rose: You. We had to meet again.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Rose wants to change the world and everyone for the better despite the numerous flaws and problems thrown at them. This ends up badly in the end when Rose decides to sacrifice themself to the Staining Rose so Catt doesn't have to.
  • Wolverine Claws: Rose's E.G.O. weapon is a pair of gloves that come with wicked-looking claws.

     Taii
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/taiitransparent.png

Click to see their epilogue appearance (SPOILERS!!
"Don't you want everyone to be alright, Catt? In Lobotomy Corp, to be strong means to protect everyone...I get it now."

A timid employee who used to act as a counselor in the Training Department. After the death of an employee they were counseling, they were promoted to an Agent in the Disciplinary Department.
  • Admiring the Abomination: In the earlier episodes, Taii displayed an enthusiastic fascination towards the Abnormalities, and had a desire to figure out what made each one happiest.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: For all Taii's timidness, as the series goes on they become fully capable of handing breaching Abnormalities, with Episode 36 revealing they have a very high justice stat. Taii proves it when they manage to beat down Blue-Smocked Shepherd, the same Abnormality that took Shasha's eye, one on one with ease.
  • Blue Is Heroic: When they manage to awaken their E.G.O. (which was Staining Rose's at the time), their suit changes from pink to blue.
  • Character Development: Although they still find many of the day-to-day occurrences at Lobotomy Corporation terrifying, Taii has nonetheless grown from a weak Clerk to an Agent capable of taking on dangerous breaching Abnormalities (albeit not alone).
  • Cheery Pink: Taii is generally a very optimistic person who manages to not let their job get to them too much. They also end up associated heavily with the color pink, from their hair to their belongings, and even the E.G.O. they wear the most.
  • Cowardly Lion: Taii gets easily frightened in bad situations early on, but they're still willing to fight Abnormalities if need be, even talking the more dangerous ones down without breaking a sweat.
  • Earned Stripes: After being promoted to an Agent of the Disciplinary team, Taii ceases wearing their uniform as a Training Team clerk and is given their own E.G.O.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: During the epilogue, Taii is shown to have grown their hair out as a Fixer.
  • Expressive Hair: Occasionally Taii will have two tufts of hair curve upwards on both sides of their head, normally when they're very excited, curious, or happy.
  • New Friend Envy: Though friend is obviously a strong word to describe Staining Rose, Taii is shown to dislike the fact that it takes away time they could spend with Rose. In addition to the fact that Catt is still in touch with Rose while refusing to speak to them, Taii obviously dislikes the loneliness that they feel.
    • Though as shown in Episode 46, it is possible that Rose had been lying about keeping contact with Catt, likely so that Taii won't worry for the former.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Out of all the Agents seen, Taii seems the least bothered by the darker aspects of the Abnormalities, and is often even interested or excited to learn about them. While wearing an overleveled E.G.O suit—which Catt explains could cause them to essentially mutate if worn too long—Taii just chipperly smiles and nods (compared to Rose who is openly unnerved and worries about growing insectile joints).
  • Only Sane Man: Almost literally. Taii is too well-adjusted, empathetic, and accepting of their own faults for the Hookah Caterpillar's usual feeding tactics to work on them. All it manages to do is create a sense of kind familiarity. While others are left deeply stressed and disturbed by working with the worm, Taii finds it relaxing... but also deeply draining as it desperately tries to pull what little it can out of them. Likely justified as their previous job as a counselor in the Training Team likely gave them the skills needed to help themself and others cope in the long term with stressors and trauma.
  • Rank Up: Not too long after Narae's death, Taii ended up being promoted from a Clerk in Training to an Agent in Disciplinary.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Taii has pink hair, and they act quite cheery and supportive to their friends (and even the Abnormalities, to an extent).
  • Shrinking Violet: Much louder than usual, but Taii was initially shown to be quite timid to other people, often worrying about the consequences. Thanks to spending time with people like Rose however, this has lessened up a bit.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: In response to Blue-Smocked Shepherd's lies and (quite literal) Kick the Dog behavior towards Reddened Buddy, Taii basically tells them to shut it.
Blue-Smocked Shepherd: 'It' only waits for me. So I'm free to neglect it all I like. Throw it away until I remember it. When it crosses my mind, kick it again. Toss it, adore it, then burn it with fire. That's. How. You. Love... a lifeless thing! 'It' will never receive the the blessing of death and farewell, either. Sad, ain't it?
Taii: Beings like you... are vile and wretched. Abnormalities can't disappear forever, but ones like you, ones with such wicked minds... Should be reduced to ash!
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: During Taii's confrontation with A Party Everlasting, they've switched out their E.G.O. that they got from My Sweet Home (a cute pink suit) to Staining Rose's E.G.O. suit, "Blooming" (a blue suit resembling the armor of a knight) to symbolize how they Took a Level in Badass since the start of the comic.
  • Sleepyhead: In some episodes, Taii is seen sleeping on the job, even bringing a blanket with them. This is apparently a carry-over from their time in the Training Department under Daisy, who apparently had an official nap time for the employees under them.
  • Teleport Spam: Taii's E.G.O. produces smoke that allows them to move at high speeds within it, making its effects somewhat similar to this.

     Finn

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/finn_portrait.png
"You see, I used to live it rough out there, so I'm confident in my ability to give some... uh, beating... to... things..."

A brash employee of the Disciplinary Department. While Finn's Abnormality-management skills are subpar at best, they excel in suppression.
  • Ambiguous Criminal History: In Episode 16, Finn mentions having been a member of a Syndicatenote  at some point prior to their employment. Though they never elaborate on their time in this Syndicate beyond mentioning that their juniors were killed by Sweepers outside of the City.
  • Dumb Muscle: While not exactly stupid, Finn has a tendency to say things that are brutally honest or otherwise indiscreet. They're also notably very bad at managing the Abnormalities compared to their fellow Agents, and admits to only joining the Corporation because they believed they only needed good fighting skills. Despite all this, their brute strength approach still serves them well, excelling in suppressing breaching Abnormalities or applying Percussive Maintenance to the panicked.
  • Fiery Redhead: Has red hair and a brash attitude.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: The Epilogue shows that Finn has some knowledge on inventing, having made a navigational device for Flower to give them an easier time traversing the streets.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: Finn is the first one to reach Ella when they show signs of succumbing to panic, and delivers a sound blow to the head to snap them out of it, before giving a gentler hand with a supplement drink to help their recovery.
  • Hidden Depths: While Finn is often tactless in their words and is far from the best Disciplinary Agent when it comes to Management, they're practical enough to ask questions about the Abnormalities for the sake of finding the most optimal survival method, and the Epilogue mentions them to be adept in working with technology.
  • Only One Who Likes Spam: Finn appears to be the only member of the present day Disciplinary Team who likes pineapple on pizza. This liking extending back to their prior job where this enjoyment of it would lead to them getting whole pizzas because no one else would touch them for the pineapple.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Finn is the fiery Red Oni to Ella's calmer Blue Oni.
  • Scary Teeth: Subverted. They have a mouth full of sharp teeth, but they're friendly and outgoing.
  • Spiky Hair: Finn's hair is tied up in a spiky ponytail.
  • Too Many Belts: Finn's E.G.O. suit has several belts on it, but they seem more for fashion than functionality.

     Ella
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ella_5.png
An Agent of the Disciplinary Department, transferred from the Control Team after the Disciplinary Team got wiped out (and the only employee of the four introduced in Episode 1 to stick around following Parker's death).
  • Bespectacled Cutie: After the fall of the Lobotomy Corporation, Ella is seen in the epilogue to have taken up wearing glasses
  • Cane Fu: Ella's E.G.O. weapon is a cane that deals Pale Damage.
  • The Generic Guy: Compared to their coworkers in Disciplinary, such as the cold-hearted Catt or the fiery Finn, nothing about Ella particularly stands out. It's said that they were once a writer, but that's about it.
  • Nerves of Steel: Among Ella's strengths is their ability to keep calm in most high pressure situations. When Parker ended up being captured by Dingle Dangle, they're not only the only one to not shy away or tear up when end up being Mercy Killed by Catt, but they're also the only one to remain working in Disciplinary after their two coworkers begged to be sent back to Control.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Ella is normally a level-headed, calm individual even when facing stressful situations, which is why them coming to Taii with signs of being stressed out by the Hookah Caterpillar is the first indicator that the Abnormality is more dangerous than meets to eye.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Ella is the calm Blue Oni to Finn's hot-blooded Red Oni.

     Kookie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kookie.png
"I was taaaking a moment... Looking at that child. It's an Abnormality, but... Isn't it so pretty?"

An employee from the Training Department who, alongside Rose, was assigned to work with an Abnormality known as White Lake. Cheerful and carefree.
  • Admiring the Abomination: Kookie is openly infatuated with the Abnormality "White Lake". They'll compliment how it looks, and become flustered and blush when it compliments them in turn.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: White Lake activates the latent effects of their E.G.O. gift specifically to make them attack Rose for it. Though they're stopped by Catt before a confrontation actually commences.
  • Lip Losses: When Kookie falls under White Lake's mind control, their mouth gains the same appearance as White Lake's, with fused-together lips and several open gaps in the lower face. This thankfully gets undone once they're released from White Lake's influence.
  • Luminescent Blush: Has a tendency to sport one of these, especially when interacting with White Lake.
  • Mind-Control Eyes: Suffered from these while under the control of White Lake, which is capable of summoning employees with its E.G.O gift to its containment unit as its "warriors". While in this state, their eyes had changed from pink to being the same light blue as Lake's eyes.
  • Put on a Bus: Kookie has only appeared during the White Lake arc and hasn't been seen since.
  • Verbal Tic: Has a tendency to draw out the vowels of some words.

     Narae
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/narae.png
"...I shouldn't have come here... If someone told me... I'd never have..."

An Agent who was assigned to the Disciplinary Team after it got wiped out. Narae was only around for two episodes before being killed off by My Sweet Home.
  • Body Horror: When they fuse with My Sweet Home, it isn't pretty. Their neck stretches out to attack Catt, and their mouth grows uncomfortably large when they try to shout at Catt.
  • Killed Off for Real: If fusing with My Sweet Home wasn't enough to effectively kill them, Narae and My Sweet Home get beaten up and supressed by Catt and Taii.
  • Parental Abandonment: It's mentioned in Episode 3 that Narae has no family left, with the implication being that they've all died via unknown causes.
  • Red Shirt: Basically a Cannon Fodder character to demonstrate that Abnormalities can kill you even if you did the right thing. While Attachment is the right thing to use on My Sweet Home, they also spent more time than needed in the Containment Unit. As a result, they gave in to the Abnormality's temptations and fused with it, leading to their death.

     Parker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/parker_1.png
"The fact that a whole team got wiped out should be enough evidence that Disciplinary is the worst place to be."

The former Captain of the Control Team, Parker was one of the Agents assigned to the Disciplinary Department after it was wiped out by Hookah Caterpillar in the prologue. Parker was said to be an experienced Agent transferred from the Control Team alongside three other employees (only one of which stayed in Disciplinary). Parker was introduced (and killed off) in Episode 1 — Dingle Dangle lured them into its containment unit before it was suppressed by Catt.
  • Advertised Extra: Parker was featured in promotional material for the comic alongside Rose and Taii, the main characters. They die in the first episode.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Parker has green hair and green eyes.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Parker was advertised as a member of the main trio alongside Rose and Taii. They're killed off in Episode 1.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Parker has a medium-sized scar on their face.
  • Killed Off for Real: In the first episode, no less.
  • Nothing Up My Sleeve: When preparing to attempt suppressing Dingle Dangle, Parker can be seen pulling a standard-issue RED Damage baton from one of their sleeves.
  • Pride: Is convinced of their unique ability to survive and that they are more capable than anyone around them, which is a big red flag about their fate for anyone who's played Lobotomy Corporation — there is no surer way to lose employees than overconfidence.
  • Red Shirt: Parker's role in the story is to exposit about the branch of Lobotomy Corporation that they are in. Right after that they are killed to show off Dingle Dangle's powers and to make room for Catt, the actual member of the Power Trio.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: They are killed off in the same episode they were introduced in.

Department Heads

     Joe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joe_92.png
"Greetings, manager! This is Joe, of Control! We'll save proper intros for later!"

The head of the Control Team. A good friend (and later partner) of Shasha.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Joe's skin is an ashen grey.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Joe is one of the most outwardly friendly Department Heads, but this does not interfere with their high levels of competence in putting down dangerous Abnormalities if they ever breach.
  • Covered with Scars: Downplayed. Joe's face is covered in several scars, which were inflicted by the Reddened Buddy. It is unknown if Joe has any other scars elsewhere on their body.
  • Nice Guy: Compared to their fellow Heads, Joe is the most outwardly nice and caring towards their subordinates.

     Beebi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beebi.png
"Oh, of course I know! I prioritize the survival of my employees above all else! But these guys ain't studying about Temperance at all! Hey!! You wanna die or what?! Too bad I can never kill you, so go ahead and cram some self-improvement books in that empty space you call a head!!"

The head of the Safety Team.
  • Animal Motifs: Seems to have a slight bee motif going on, from their name sounding like "Bee" being said twice, to their E.G.O Equiptment coming from an Aberration of Queen Bee.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Beebi is the youngest of the Department Heads, and is markedly more emotional and volatile than their fellows of equal rank. While the rest tend to be far more subdued, Beebi more often expresses loud anger or tears.
  • Child Prodigy: Beebi's backstory notes that they were a rich and famous child prodigy before being hired by Lobotomy Corporation due to their knowledge on power transference systems.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Beebi's usual way of communicating with and relaying orders to their subordinates usually involves yelling at them about their wrongdoings and demanding they do better, at one point even slapping a few of their lined-up employees across the face for being too ill-prepared with raising their stats.
  • Fiery Redhead: They've got red hair and a rough-around-the-edges attitude.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Beebi is quite temperamental, but they value their employees more than they let on, to the point of crying when the Servant of Wrath's attack results in the deaths of several Agents and Beozzi.
  • Jousting Lance: Wields a small lance resembling a bee's stinger which deals Black damage.
  • No Indoor Voice: Nearly every sentence Beebi speaks is an exclamation.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Beebi is rash and rather loud, while Suho is cool-headed and speaks in a professional tone.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Beebi is one of the five Department Heads in charge of the different teams in Branch O-5681. They're also the only one of the Department Heads left alive after the Lobotomy Corporation fell.
  • Sole Survivor: By the Epilogue, they're the only one of the Department Heads to survive the onslaught of Abnormalities brought on by A Party Everlasting.
  • Stern Teacher: Beebi is shown to be incredibly strict with their subordinates, such as in Episode 6, where they're shown slapping a group of Agents in the face and making harsh comments towards them for not working to raise their Temperance levels. Nevertheless, they do value the wellbeing of their employees, even shedding tears when a bunch of their low-level Agents (and Beozzi) ended up dying thanks to the Servant of Wrath.
  • Trying Not to Cry: After the rampage of the Servant of Wrath, Beebi is clearly doing their best to hold back their tears for their fallen subordinates.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Beebi unintentionally drops the straw that breaks the camel's back for Beozzi when they order them to go on leave and hand over the Servant of Wrath's gift for analysis. Though Beozzi argues with them, a confused Beebi casually tells them not only are there other employees able to manage the Servant, but that they already have someone lined up to temporarily take their place. While they're wholly well-intentioned in wanting to ensure Beozzi's wellbeing, their good intentions ultimately lead to Beozzi's breakdown and the subsequent rampage of the Servant of Wrath.
  • Young and in Charge: Beebi is the youngest of all the Department Heads, but still holds full authority of the Safety Department at only 20 years old.
  • Youthful Freckles: Their face is covered in freckles, and they are the youngest of the Department Heads.

     Daisy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daisy_47.png
"Daisy 'ere, the top dog of Training~"

The head of the Training Team.
  • '50s Hair: Daisy sports a short, wavy, neat hairdo that wouldn't look out of place on an actress from the 50s. This is likely intentional, as MIMI has stated Daisy's appearance was inspired by actors from that era.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Daisy is one of the more laid-back Department Heads, being fond of a relaxed lifestyle to the point of having a scheduled nap time for the Agents of the Training Department. Despite this, they've shown themself to be rather competent when the situation calls for it, such as with Abnormality suppression.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: As hedonistic as Daisy is, they are a very skilled fighter.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Daisy has a propensity for making snide remarks and jabs with a completely blank expression.
  • Drinking on Duty: Episode 8 shows Daisy participating in a meeting of Department Heads, with a short glass of what looks to be whiskey on the rocks on the table in front of them. At 8 in the morning.
  • Flower Motifs: Their name is "Daisy", and their E.G.O. suit is covered in flowers.
  • Older Than They Look: Though there's no real signs that they're much older than the rest of the cast, Daisy is noted as being the oldest of the Department Heads, clocking it at their mid-late 30s. The comparison is especially difficult to tell unless one knows, as they're junior to Shasha and Joe in the Lobotomy Corporation despite being older.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Daisy is normally very calm, even in dire situations. However, in Episode 25, when Purin gets hit by Pygmalion's WHITE-damage bullets and suffers from hallucinations as a result, Daisy briefly loses their cool and scorns the Abnormality for hurting one of their subordinates.
    • In Episode 43, they become just as freaked out as the other Department Heads when looking over the managerial methods for the Staining Rose.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Wears a lot of pink and is rather feminine in appearance and behaviour.
  • Sidekick Graduations Stick: Daisy mentions in Episode 51 that they were just an ordinary employee, and Shasha and Joe had been their mentors, so to speak. In the present day, the three of them are equals working together.
  • Signature Headgear: Daisy is always seen with a small pink ribbon/headband in their hair.

     Suho
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/suho.png
"Department Head Suho. I am highly pleased to work with those whom I have admired as coworkers."

The (current) head of the Information Team, hired after the previous head got killed in the prologue.
  • Brutal Honesty: Suho has no intent on mincing their words; They're very readily able to tell people the truth even if it's unpleasant or not something anyone wants to hear.
  • Cold Ham: Though Suho makes no indicators of speaking in anything above an even tone, they still tend to make very dramatic and intense declarations without making any extreme facial expressions.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: When faced with a group of Abnormalities, along with Distorted Catt, in Episode 51, Suho decides to Hold the Line while Beebi and the remaining captains evacuate the rest of the employees. Rza elects to join them, knowing Suho alone couldn't hold off the Abnormalities for long enough.
  • Lack of Empathy: As someone who is more logic-oriented, Suho frequently displays either a lack of awareness or a complete disregard for others' emotions, often putting progress and research over the potential emotional wellbeing of lower Agents. This also extends to them disregarding Beebi's emotional tendencies; for instance, when Beebi starts crying from the aftermath of the Servant of Wrath's containment breach, Suho vocalizes their confusion at their fellow Head's reaction, all with a blank expression.
  • Magic Wand: Wields a fungal wand that deals Pale damage; much like their Suit, it appears to come off an Aberration of The Little Prince.
  • Mr. Exposition: Takes time out to explain the history of the Servant of Wrath and the Hermit—in the middle of a fight with the former, no less. This knowledge does end up proving useful in helping their fellow Heads during the Servant's suppression.
  • No Social Skills: Suho seems to have either a poor grasp on or no interest in interacting with others in ways considered socially acceptable. They're very blunt about difficult topics and have no issues cutting people off mid-conversation to get to their own point, and they even have difficulty comprehending things like other people crying.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Suho is calm and professional, in contrast to the more hotheaded Beebi.
  • Seeker Archetype: Suho characterizes themself as someone who seeks knowledge above all else, willing to do anything to uncover the secrets and truths about Abnormalities and learn anything they can, regardless of any other purpose behind it.
  • The Spock: Suho tends to think and interact with others in terms of rational logic rather than emotions. As a result, they often come across as dismissive, off-putting, and sometimes outright intense. They often calculate situations in terms of gains and progress, and what's best for the Corporation as a whole, rather than how they'll make people feel. Despite all this, when the chips are down, they won't hesitate to sacrifice themself with just as much ease to increase the chances of survival for others.
  • Spock Speak: Speaks in a very formal, business-like manner.
  • The Stoic: Suho tends to display very little emotion, rarely ever deviating from their usual range of either a thin smile or an otherwise blank expression. Thus, anytime they appear openly shocked or unnerved, it usually means things have become very dire.
  • Tranquil Fury: Shown in Episode 36. Contrasting Beebi's apparent anger at the deaths caused by the Shepherd and the Buddy, Suho very sternly, yet calmly, rebutes Joe and Shasha's arguments against reclaiming the titular Abnormalites by emphasizing the importance of keeping the two as seperate as possible.

     Shasha
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shasha.png
"What do you think is the reason a Disciplinary Team is needed? We are savage dogs, we bite and tear everything to protect our master."

The head of the Disciplinary Team.
  • Animal Motifs: Dogs. Shasha describes the Disciplinary Team that they lead as "savage dogs" whose duty is to protect others, and they don the E.G.O. of Reddened Buddy, an Abnormality that looks like a dog and can turn into a dangerous wolf. Daisy also refers to them as "lil' mutt" in passing.
  • Badass Longcoat: Shasha's E.G.O. suit includes a red, knee-length coat with gray fur trim, complete with small lines and tears meant to emulate the scars on Reddened Buddy's hide.
  • BFS: Their E.G.O Weapon is a rather sizable blade resembling a large kitchen knife. It deals Red damage.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: To an extent when it comes to dealing with Catt. Even with how out of control they can be, Shasha is the only authority figure that Catt will consistently listen and show respect to, even if reluctantly. Shasha, meanwhile, knows how best to talk to Catt to convince or encourage them to do things.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As a child, Shasha was adopted by a group of Fixers who loved them dearly. One day, the Fixers left to take a case in the Backstreets and never returned. It's heavily implied that this event destroyed Shasha's childhood innocence.
  • Eye Colour Change: After taking Black damage from The Blue-Smocked Shepherd Abnormality in their left eye, the sclera turns black and the iris becomes a brighter shade of blue.
  • Eye Scream: Shasha's left eye was destroyed after an Abnormality (who was later revealed to be the Blue-Smocked Shepherd) pierced it with Black damage. No one knows what happened to the brain behind it.
  • Happily Adopted: Shasha's backstory states that they were adopted by a group of Fixers who promised to always take care of them after their biological parents, who were the Fixers' clients at the time, ended up being lost due to unknown circimstances. Though it ended up not lasting...
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Shasha's stern demeanor and intense dedication to their job can make them come across as intimidating and ruthless. However, this fact doesn't change that their first priority is always the safety of their subordinates, and that of all the other employees in their branch. They're more than willing to give genuine encouragement and praise when earned, and have a habit of buying food for their employees to soften the blow of a scolding.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Shasha is referred to as "Sasha" in the prologue of the English translation. At the end of Episode 1, the translation notes at the end clarify that their name is actually Shasha.
  • Moe Greene Special: In the past, Shasha lost one of their eyes when it was shot through by Black damage by the Blue Smocked Shepherd.
  • Not So Above It All: Most of the time, Shasha is very curt and serious. While playing Rock–Paper–Scissors with Joe in Episode 10, they gloat over having won the "duel".
  • Perpetual Frowner: Though they do smile every once in a while, their default expression tends to range between mildly annoyed to outright sour.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Shasha tends to be very dour and strict as a superior to all the agents and clerks under them, while still being open to listening to any who have major concerns. They'll be blunt and scathingly honest one moment, and the next have food brought in to soften the blow.

The Abnormalities

     In General
  • Alice Allusion: While many of the Abnormalities here are based around fairytales and storybooks, Alice in Wonderland is a prominent reference in terms of several of them.
  • Alien Blood: The blood of most of the Abnormalities is bright pink/dark purple.
  • Back for the Finale: In "A Party Everlasting", all of the Abnormalities contained at Branch O-5681 who got Put on a Bus after their introductions return for the last arc.
  • Killer Rabbit: Abnormalities such as The Road Home, Reddened Buddy, and Titania's fairy scouts seem harmless at first, but they are more than capable of causing death once their abilities activate.
  • Monster Mash: The Abnormalities are based around many different creatures, and it's the Agents' job to manage each of them.
  • The Noseless: Several Abnormalities, such as The Road Home, Tangle, and the Drowned Sisters, all appear to lack noses.
  • Underground Monkey: The concept of Aberrations is basically this. Many things about them and their original counterparts are similar to each other, but often times they'll have vastly different ways to manage them, and also have the possibility of outranking the original in terms of risk level.

ZAYIN

     Bottle of Tears
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bottle_of_tears_9.png
An Abnormality in the shape of a bottle full of liquid, with a cake serving as its cork. It's easy to manage, as long as the Agent in charge of it doesn't eat the cake on top. This Abnormality is the source of Catt's E.G.O weapon, "Eyeball Scooper".
  • Alice Allusion: Bottle of Tears is based on the "Drink Me" bottle and "Eat Me" cake from Alice in Wonderland. A bunch of notes saying "drink me" even manifest once it activates its ability.
    • Its name and gimmick may also reference an event in the same chapter, where Alice becomes large enough that her tears flood the room once she starts crying, then shrinks down to a size where she's small enough to float in the resulting pool.
  • Drowning Pit: Once the Bottle of Tears is activated, water from inside the bottle will flood the room to the ceiling. It's implied that, under normal circumstances (i.e your name isn't Catt), the soul trapped within the Containment Unit would end up drowning.
  • Hazardous Water: If one is to eat the cake on top of the bottle, the bottle cracks and the liquid inside floods the room.

TETH

     Dingle Dangle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dingle_dangle.png
"Let's all become fruits. Let's hang together. Your despair, sadness... Let's all dangle down."

A pink pillar with ribbons wrapped around it. This Abnormality is what causes Parker's death in Episode 1.
  • The Assimilator: Its assumed goal is to absorb people and hang their remains, and it nearly succeeds with Parker.
  • Flight: According to the Party Everlasting arc, Dingle Dangle can apparently fly, specifically by detaching itself from the pillar and flying about as a giant ribbon bow.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Dingle Dangle is a silly-sounding name, but what it does to people is not very silly.
  • Hanging Around: It has motifs based around a group suicide via hanging.
  • Man-Eating Plant: After luring Parker into its unit, it ensnares them in its root system, with the implication being that it intended to absorb them for nourishment.
  • Master of Illusion: Dingle Dangle causes hallucinations in any Agent whose Prudence level is higher than 2. It demonstrates these powers by tricking Parker into thinking the employees that accompanied them had been killed by it in order to make them step into its containment unit.
    • Though, given how a high-level Agent like Catt wasn't absorbed by the tree, even when standing directly in its roots, it can be assumed that the Abnormality itself is fairly low-risk as long as one doesn't give in to its temptations.
  • Vine Tentacles: It uses what looks like vines/roots to ensnare the Agents it successfully lured and incapacitate them at the base of its trunk.
  • When Trees Attack: It doesn't bear the traditional appearance of a tree, but its pillar-shaped appearance, its talk about turning people into "fruits", and the Blue-Smocked Shepherd's comments on it brings the concept into mind.

     My Sweet Home
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/my_sweet_home_6.jpg
Click to see its breaching form
"This cozy little house is a safe nest built only for you. Everything is here for you..."

An Abnormality resembling a pink dollhouse, and the cause of Narae's death in Episode 3. The source of Taii's E.G.O Equipment. By the time of Episode 35, it has been relocated to a different facility and replaced with The Drowned Sisters.
  • Alice Allusion: My Sweet Home's breaching form appears to take inspiration from Alice in Wonderland. More specifically, the part where Alice grows to a large size inside of the White Rabbit's house.
  • The Assimilator: Agents who become too invested in Attachment work with My Sweet Home are at risk of it luring the Agent inside itself and then merging with them before breaching containment.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: It's normally the size of a regular dollhouse, but when it breaches, it becomes the size of a regular house.
  • Body Horror: Any employee who fuses with My Sweet Home will have their limbs over-sized and contorting outside the Home's orifices. The human component can also extend its neck in a manner akin to a turtle.
  • Creepy Dollhouse: My Sweet Home openly invokes this imagery. Despite appearing as a cutesy pink dollhouse in containment, certain aspects of it like the veins across its walls and its uncanny ability to read people's thoughts make it a very unsettling structure. To say nothing of when it breaches containment.
  • Cute Is Evil: Despite looking like a little pink dollhouse, My Sweet Home is just as vicious and violent as any other Abnormality.
  • Fusion Dance: It fuses with any employee that becomes overly attached to it.
  • Living Toys: It takes on the form of a dollhouse in containment, but My Sweet Home is capable of both reading the thoughts of humans and holding conversations with the Agent working on it.
  • Sapient House: My Sweet Home is intelligent enough to hold conversations with Agents, and also cunning enough to manipulate Agents into becoming one with it and letting it breach.
  • Tainted Veins: One of the earliest visual cues of its darker aspects is the bright red veins spreading out from its door.
  • Telepathy: Appears to be capable of a limited form of mind-reading, as it's able to know that Narae likes pies without cinnamon without them ever telling it that fact.
  • Unexplained Recovery: A nonfatal example. Despite getting transported to a different facility, it can be seen on the second page of Episode 52, right next to Pygmalion.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: My Sweet Home is shown with hearts adorning it, even producing heart-shaped smoke puffs from its chimney. This becomes more apparent just before it assimilates Narae.

     Red Queen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/red_queentransparent.png
A one-eyed Abnormality that sits on a chair. Using the red cards it manifests, this particular Abnormality chops off the heads of those who fail to satisfy it, but it's incredibly hard to figure out what it likes and dislikes, making it very feared among the employees of Lobotomy, despite its TETH rank.
  • Alice Allusion: Red Queen is based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
  • All There in the Manual: Red Queen's risk level was never stated in the comic, but it was confirmed to be a TETH-class in a supplementary image posted during a Wonderlab Q&A held by MIMI on Twitter.
  • Cool Crown: The Queen's head is adorned with a crown made of shiny pink metal.
  • Cyclops: Red Queen only has one eye.
  • Death Dealer: Uses what looks like playing cards to slice through the Agents' bodies.
  • The Dreaded: Red Queen is a TETH, but its insta-death gimmick, along with the fact that it doesn't give any clues as to what satisfies it, makes it a nightmare to deal with.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: She's an Abnormality who takes the form of a queen, and who happens to be feared by Agents due to her penchant for beheading those who fail to satisfy her unpredictable whims.
  • Invisible Anatomy: At the end of Episode 7, Red Queen is shown drinking from a soda can, despite having no arms.
  • Off with His Head!: What it does to employees that fail to satisfy its needs.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Red Queen has a single red eye, and it is capable of killing anyone that fails to satisfy it.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Part 3 of "A Party Everlasting" marks the first and only time it speaks.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: Fitting her inspiration, the Red Queen bears a heart motif, and she's a dangerous Abnormality who'll instantly decapitate anyone whose work is sub-par.

     Tangle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tangle_8.jpg
"The time between you and me... You've put down that much hair, you love me that much..."

An Abnormality which takes the form of a head with ridiculously long blonde hair.
  • Berserk Button: Doesn't like having its hair combed with old-fashioned hair combs, and will attack any Agent that attempts to do so.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Has blonde hair and yellow eyes.
  • Intimate Hair Brushing: It's implied to favor Instinct Work, which consists of an Agent brushing and styling its hair, with Tangle keeping track of how many times that particular Agent has brushed its hair. If an Agent has brushed it hair enough times, Tangle will persuade the Agent to let it breach containment (or "let [its] hair down").
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: Has extremely long hair and a very feminine taste in haircare.
  • Oracular Head: Besides the hair, the Abnormality consists of a pink head and nothing else.
  • Prehensile Hair: Tangle is capable of maneuvering its hair at will, as demonstrated when it tried to attack Taii in Episode 9.
  • Shout-Out: Tangle is likely based off Rapunzel, with its long, blonde hair. It's name is also presumably taken from the Disney adaptation of the tale, Tangled.
  • Tentacle Rope: Tangle does a hairy variant of this. Under certain conditions, Tangle with persuade the Agent to allow it to breach containment. Regardless of the answer, the Abnormality will attempt to breach containment while also keeping the Agent wrapped in its long hair.

HE

     White Lake
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/white_lake.png
"A curse that forever binds you to this world. Fortitude is an impossible and foolhardy virtue, you don't need such a thing. You'll just make a beautiful decoration for my own birdcage. How does that sound?"

An Abnormality which resembles a one-legged ballerina with wings in place of arms. The source of Rose's E.G.O Equipment, "Torn-off Wings".

Does not breach containment, but will act malicious (eventually becoming violent) towards agents with a high Fortitude stat. It prefers Insight work, which usually involves placing items it considers beautiful (e.g. roses) in its Containment Unit.
  • Bird People: She's a humanoid swan with a feather dress of sorts.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Anything more than a cursory interaction with White Lake will reveal it's far less meek and innocent than it likes to portray itself to be. It quickly becomes outright nasty towards anyone it doesn't like, and plays the victim while being intentionally malicious.
  • Caged Bird Metaphor: Played with. White Lake intentionally portrays itself as a meek and helpless bird in a cage, incapable of doing anything for itself and standing by as others adorn its cage and take care of it. In an interesting variation, it's actually perfectly fine staying in said cage, and only appears interested in its own self-serving comfort, even at the expense of other people's wellbeing.
  • Cool Crown: Its E.G.O. gift is a silver crown with a blue gem in the center.
  • Creepy Ballet: White Lake's appearance is meant to invoke the appearance of a ballerina, but their unsettling behaviors and barely hidden malice makes them eerie to interact with if it doesn't like someone.
  • Crocodile Tears: White Lake is quick to turn on the waterworks even as it's doing harm towards Rose.
  • Cute Creature, Creepy Mouth: Its appearance is mostly benign, but instead of a full mouth, it has a series of gaps across its lower face which create the general silhouette of a mouth, and segments of its skin can be seen stretching to accommodate its speech. Anyone it chooses to be its "warrior" will gain the same sort of mouth.
  • Cute Monster Girl: A feminine-looking swan person with enough of a ballerina aesthetic to match.
  • Dainty Little Ballet Dancers: White Lake's appearance is based around this concept, looking like a petite ballerina adorned with feathers.
  • Damsel in Distress: Acts this way once she feels threatened by Rose, even calling upon a "warrior" (i.e, an employee with her E.G.O Gift whom she then possesses) to come save her.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: At least to employees who have high Fortitude, like with Rose when they try to apologize for upsetting Lake.
  • Drowning Pit: When White Lake shows its aggressive side, it begins to quickly flood its containment unit with water from the vases that have been placed around, up until it ends up becoming waist-height. Lake only stops doing this once the managerial process is finished, and the door opens up to let the water out.
  • Friendship Favoritism: White Lake blatantly prefers Kookie over Rose as the one in charge of managing it, claiming to only be happy when the former is around. Even when Rose is in the Containment Unit with it, Lake simply asks how long it'll take until Kookie arrives to manage it.
  • Hypno Trinket: When someone has successfully earned its favor, White Lake will give them its E.G.O. gift (i.e a small silver tiara with a gemstone in the center). Whenever it feels threatened, the gemstone will turn from blue to red, and the person wearing it will come under its control, turning into a loyal "warrior" who will rush to its side and save the Abnormality from its "tormentor".
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Has a blue eyes and a (mostly) stoic nature.
  • Making a Splash: Can control water to some degree, such as when it tries to use the water in the rose vases placed in its Containment Unit to try and drown Rose.
  • Mind-Control Eyes: Capable of inflicting this upon any Agent who has its E.G.O. gift if it feels threatened, giving the mind-controlled employee a sword and summoning them to its containment unit.
  • Not Worth Killing: When White Lake breaches during the rampage of A Party Everlasting, it catches a glimpse of an Agent cowering in hiding just outside its Containment Unit. Lake gives said Agent a brief look of distain before leaving, having decided that the Agent is not worth dealing with.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: White Lake typically speaks clearly, but when it interrupted its own words with birdlike noises, Rose began to suspect that something bad would happen to them if they continued to work on White Lake. Said suspicion was confirmed when White Lake attempts to drown them and send a mind-controlled Kookie after them.
  • Playing the Victim Card: Accuses Rose of being a bully and a witch due to their high Fortitude stat, even though Rose was following normal work procedure.
Rose: I apologize, Lake. What can I do for—
White Lake: You're a witch!! You're trying to cage and bully me! Butcher! Monster! Witch!
White Lake: Oh please save me, my warrior! Save your dear Lake!
  • Shout-Out: White Lake is based on Odette from Swan Lake.
  • Tutu Fancy: Befitting its ballerina motif, Lake is also fitted with the skirt of a wide and fluffy white tutu.
  • Voice Change Surprise: Played with. When Rose is speaking to White Lake about if it hates them, Lake's speech starts out normal, but then starts making bird noises halfway through. Though Lake itself doesn't appear surprised by the sudden shift, Rose is certainly unnerved by it.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Has white hair and isn't opposed to killing agents when angered.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: White Lake's chest has a blue heart with what appears to be red splotches in its center, which further misleads people into thinking it's harmless before showing its true nature.

     The Road Home
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_road_home_9.png
"My friends! Let's go, together~! Let's skip home together~!"

An Abnormality which resembles a young girl with brown hair. She, Scaredy Cat, the Warm-hearted Woodsman, and the Scarecrow Searching for Wisdom are all connected with one another.

The Road Home will breach instantly upon someone trying to perform Instinct work on her. When breaching, she will drop a "Home" in a random part of the facility, potentially squashing and killing employees on its ground zero, while paving a series of bricks to that Home. She is extremely fast and bleeds BLACK damage when her legs are cut off.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: The Road Home's skin is silver-grey.
  • Armless Biped: The Road Home has legs, but no arms.
  • Badass Adorable: She's a tiny kid who sings and dances a lot, and yet she can cause destruction even without all her friends to back her up.
  • Bloodless Carnage: Mostly played straight. Most of the injuries she sustains throughout her fight with Catt—including having her feet severed—don't seem to draw any blood. However, once she's taken enough damage for it to be lethal, she's finally shown to bleed from her wounds.
  • Circling Birdies: In Episode 14, after getting dizzy from spinning in the air, she's briefly shown with stars circling her head coupled with Wing Ding Eyes. She quickly shakes it off, though.
  • Creepy Blue Eyes: Her sclerae are completely blue, and she'll often stare at people with a creepy wide-eyed smile.
  • Creepy Child: "Creepy" is stretching it, but no child should be killing people while also displaying personal awareness of their emotions.
  • Death from Above: The Road Home's main method of attack is to drop a house in a random area. Anyone who happens to be crushed underneath this house will have their shoes turn into red slippers.
  • Dissonant Serenity: As it kills the various employees, it does it all with a cheery smile on its face.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Becomes one with the Servant of Wrath when a Distorted Catt calls all the Abnormalities together.
  • Magic Skirt: Even when she's flipped totally upside down, the Road's skirt always maintains its proper bell shape.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite being knee-sized and relying on Scaredy Cat to attack for her, she's able to hold her own in a fight very well thanks to her powers and resistance, even managing to nearly kill Catt without Taii's interference.
  • Power-Upgrading Deformation: If her feet are removed, she gains the ability to spew BLACK damage.
  • Shout-Out: The Road Home is based on Dorothy Gale from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
  • Single Substance Manipulation: She's able to control (and replicate) golden bricks and houses with ease.
  • Terms of Endangerment: The Road Home refers to everyone as "friend", even the employees that she tries to kill.
  • Third-Person Person: When speaking with Catt in Episode 14, the Road refers to herself in the third person.
  • Turns Red: When The Road Home's feet are chopped off, she'll fly around and leak trails of BLACK damage from the wounds.
  • Wingding Eyes: Gains spiral pupils (complete with stars circling her head) in Episode 14 after becoming dizzy from spinning in the air. Later gets X-shaped pupils after being suppressed.

     Scaredy Cat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scaredy_cat_6.png
Click to see its breaching form
An Abnormality which resembles a small lion cub. It's normally docile, but once it breaches, it takes on the form of a manticore-lion. It, The Road Home, the Warm-hearted Woodsman, and the Scarecrow Searching for Wisdom are all connected with one another.

If the Scarecrow, Woodsman, or the Road are breaching while in the same facility as it, Scaredy Cat will breach alongside the other Abnormality. It is not only incredibly strong when that happens, but it cannot be truly suppressed until the other Oz Abnormality is suppressed.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Turns into a red-blue manticore when it breaches.
  • Covered with Scars: Several huge scars can be found on its underbelly, barely alluding to tiger stripes or ribs.
  • Cowardly Lion: A given, seeing as how Scaredy Cat is based on the Trope Namer. As long as The Road Home, The Warm-Hearted Woodsman, or the Scarecrow Searching for Wisdom are breaching, the Lion will follow suit and slaughter everyone in its path. If the Lion's companions are all defeated, however...
  • Dirty Coward: A few characters emphasize its cowardice. It tries to attack Rose and Taii, who were running away from it with no intention to fight it. In addition, if all of Scaredy Cat's companions are defeated, it will turn back into its first form with the knowledge that it has no backup anymore.
  • Healing Factor: You can slice it up, punch a hole clean through it, or even rip its head in half. So long as even one of its "friends" is still active, Scaredy Cat will heal right back up to continue the fight.
  • Killer Rabbit: It's base form is a frightened, docile seeming kitten that looks like a fly would be more capable of hurting it than the other way around. If any of it's friends breach, however...
  • Nervous Wreck: In its kitten form, it's scared to death of anyone that approaches.
  • Hulking Out: Transforms into a much larger, more dangerous form when it breaches containment.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: As long as one of its friends are alive, it will keep kicking through whatever damage is thrown at it.
  • Quaking with Fear: A common Nervous Tic he displays in kitten form.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Once it breaches, its eyes turn from blue to red.
  • Shout-Out: Scaredy Cat is based on the Cowardly Lion from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
  • Super Smoke: It has the ability to turn into magical smoke in order to either reach others quickly or evade attack.

     Hookah Caterpillar

Click to see its breaching form
"The worm will fatten up from the despair it must feel from the emotions and doubts towards it, energy will billow... And there will be death in the process. Unfortunately."
Manual A.I (Episode 18)

An Abnormality which resembles a large worm, with a large hole on its forehead from which pale blue smoke spews out from. This particular Abnormality was responsible for wiping out the Disciplinary Department in the prologue.
  • Alice Allusion: Hookah Caterpillar is based on the hookah-smoking caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland.
  • Bishōnen Line: Its butterfly form is considerably more humanoid than its caterpillar form.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Sports two blades in place of arms in its breaching form.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: It's an oversized, murderous, smoke-spewing butterfly that is creepy in both its larval and imago states.
  • Deadly Gas: The Caterpillar is constantly spewing out teal smoke, even more so in its breaching form. The smoke deals Pale damage to all who come in contact with it, with visual symptoms including coughing and a black sludge leaking from their eyes and mouth, and even wearing protective E.G.O. or gas masks isn't a guarantee to keep someone safe.
  • Emotion Eater: It feeds on the self-loathing of Agents who work on it, showing them painful memories of their past in order to accomplish this.
  • Eyes Always Shut: In its caterpillar form.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: In butterfly form, it has eyes all over its wings. Its head in this form is also one big sideways eye.
  • Master of Illusion: It shows people parts of themselves they would rather not see, in order to feed on the emotions of self-hatred and doubt that result.
  • Oh, Crap!: Once the Rabbit Team begins firing onto it, all of its eyes give this look as chunks of it are blown away.
  • Sadist: Appears to be one while in its larval form. This is best shown when it starts taunting Rose with illusions of their past life, all the while smiling in glee.
  • Sadistic Choice: Its "Eclosion Counter" works this way. Doing any work with it besides Level-5 Repression Work will get it closer to breaching, but it generates more energy in return. On the other hand, doing Repression work is difficult and grants very little energy, but it at least prevents the Caterpillar from feeding. Either way, getting the Eclosion Counter to increase causes the Caterpillar to spew more smoke in the room, effectively making Repression more difficult to manage.
  • Starfish Language: Hookah Caterpillar (in caterpillar form, at least) can only communicate in "kyus".
    Hookah Caterpillar: Kyukyukyu.
  • Suddenly Speaking: In Episode 19, it suddenly talks to Rose (while taking on the form of their younger self) as it emerges from its cocoon, likely to salt the wound on Rose's guilt and shock.

The Servant of Wrath & Hermit of the Azure Forest

The Servant of Wrath

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/servant.png
Click to see her breaching form
"Friend... A being more special than any other, calling and greeting each other by name... I must treat everyone equally, with balance..."

A Magical Girl Abnormality dressed in green who appears to be around the size of a small child when calm, but is capable of transforming into a more hostile form once she breaches.

She can be "called" by an employee with her gift in order to suppress other Abnormalities, which in turn, helps keep her in a good mood. However, if the person who equipped her attempts to make friends with her (presented by the employee with the gift overusing the Abnormality's mercenary services), that person will automatically transform into the Hermit who betrayed her in her origin story and she will transform into a crazed, muscular reptilian monstrosity who will not stop at all costs trying to pulverize the Hermit.
  • Acid Attack: Capable of creating large amounts of acidic sludge from her weapon. In her monster form, acid flows from her mouth and her hand hammers.
  • Alien Blood: Her blood is bright green and acidic.
  • Berserk Button: If anyone wants to make friends with the Servant, they will become the Hermit that the Servant despises the most and she will go onto a rampage until she kills the Hermit. As far as the Servant knows, the Hermit is an "Embodiment of Evil" and must be destroyed at any cost.
  • The Berserker: In her breaching form, she goes completely feral, completely unable to distinguish friend from foe. She will attack anything that stands in her way.
  • Blindfolded Vision: Her base form wears a blindfold, but it's indicated that she can still see just fine. She's even seen to be reading books despite wearing it.
  • Blind Justice: Her design is meant to invoke this, with the grey blindfold over her eyes and her talks of justice. Averted, though, as it's implied she can still actually see in spite of it.
  • Bookworm: Is often shown reading through piles of books.
  • Carry a Big Stick: She wields a small gavel-like hammer, as part of her justice motif, that she can use to throw around waves of acid in her base form. After transforming into her monstrous form, her hands turn into large hammers with clubs emblazoned on the side.
  • Convenient Color Change: In Episode 27, it's shown that her hair and the gems in her outfit change colors when she's about to breach. She starts off as green, before going to yellow, and finally, to red.
  • Dark Magical Girl: As a Lobotomy Corporation Magical Girl, it's no surprise she ends up being this. The Servant's backstory involves her being betrayed by someone whom she considered a close friend, who used the trust this friendship afforded to destroy her home. As of the present, she strives to be an embodiment of balance and justice, but still has a latent desire for friendship. And anytime she tries to make a friend, she ends up right back in the cycle where she transforms the person she befriended into the Hermit—the very person who betrayed the Servant—-so she can play out the betrayal and its' aftermath over and over again in a dark spectacle.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: The one time the Servant is seen in her base form sans blindfold, she's shown to have three small dots on her sclera on the outside of each iris.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Her breaching form has a giant eye on her torso.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: In exchange for offering her hand in friendship towards the Hermit, the Hermit took advantage of her kindness and sent her minions to destroy all that she loved. Likely not helped by the fact that the Hermit was already an enemy within the Servant's homeworld to begin with.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Not with the Hermit, but rather with The Road Home while Catt rampaged throughout the facility.
  • For Great Justice: She values justice and balance more than anything else. It's also the reason she's so angry with herself, as her one slip-up led to the death of her world at the hands of someone she trusted.
  • Hired Guns: An Agent with her gift can 'call' her to suppress Abnormalities. Her services mustn't be overused, however.
  • Hulking Out: When someone attempts to befriend the Servant, and her internal struggle with her desires for balance and friendship become too much to bear, she transforms into a giant, muscled monster with hammer hands.
  • Magic Pants: Her breeches and cravat aren't damaged by her transformation.
  • Magical Girl: Like the other three that came before her (The Queen of Hatred, the King of Greed, the Knight of Despair), the Servant of Wrath is one of these.
  • Magical Girl Warrior: When called upon by someone with her E.G.O. gift, the Servant of Wrath will do battle with other Abnormalities as commanded, usually by dousing them with acid until they're too damaged to move anymore.
  • Ocular Gushers: In her breaching form, her ripped blindfold hangs from her eyes, resembling a cascade of tears.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Once she breaches, the Servant will only calm down if she's the one who delivers the final blows to the Hermit.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: In her regular Magical Girl form, she barely reaches up to Beozzi's knees in height, and yet she's shown to be very capable in battle.
  • Playing Card Motifs: Completing the set for the other Magical Girls, her Cravat-thingie somewhat resembles the Club suit mark, and she has Club marks on her mallet-hands in her transformed state. She also rounds out the Court Cards theme — early names for the Jack consistently identified it as a servant of some sort, such as Knave, Page, or Valet.
  • Power Floats: The Servant is capable of levitating, but only in her first form.
  • Prone to Tears: She's perpetually crying beneath that blindfold.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She's a mentally-unstable Magical Girl, and she's also revealed to have red eyes underneath her blindfold once she's suppressed.
  • Show Within a Show: The Servant is described as putting on a "play" when she breaches, endlessly reenacting the backstory between her and the Hermit and her betrayal by said Hermit. The process of suppressing her is also said to require a "stage" for this play to take place on.
  • Tears of Blood: Sheds acid tears, which eat away at her blindfold.
  • Tragic Monster: Just like the other Magical Girls, unfortunate circumstances have driven her mad. In this case, it was the betrayal of what she thought was a confidant of hers that led to her obliviously going against her ideals of fairness and justice. This overwhelmed her with shame and guilt, and she would not go to rest until she kills the entity responsible for her past sin.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Her motif. The Servant of Wrath, having been betrayed by the only person she believed was a friend, will stop at absolutely nothing until she kills the Hermit who betrayed her.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Her breaching form wears no shirt.

Hermit of the Azure Forest

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azureforesthermit.jpg
"I visit from another world. Hermit of an azure forest. I've come to meet a friend. Kindly make way for me."

A creature taking the form of a grey skinned hag that holds a wooden staff and wears a brown hood with numerous eye patterns on it. She can transform Agents into headless, wooden effigies.

The Servant of Wrath was once known as a Magical Girl named the "Magical Girl of Courage", who seeks to fight for justice and balance. Unfortunately, she made friends with this Hermit, an enemy of her homeworld, and exchanged information with her in secret. The Hermit took advantage of this to betray her and destroy her homeworld with her minions. Having been overwhelmed with guilt on what she did, the Servant gets drowned by the wrath towards herself and will not stop until she kills the Hermit.
  • Animate Dead: The Hermit can create hordes of minions to do her bidding by taking control of dead human bodies and transforming them into headless wooden dolls.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Despite being considered an enemy on the Servant's homeworld, the Servant still made friends with the Hermit and the two would secretly exchange information with each other. Though, the Hermit eventually ends up betraying the Servant, sending her minions to destroy the Servant's homeworld, leaving the Servant to fill with wrath towards herself and the Hermit.
  • Evil Old Folks: The Hermit is both very elderly and very evil, considering that she was the reason that the Servant of Wrath had ended up becoming a monster.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: The multiple eyes adorning her cloak all have multiple pupils on them.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: The Hermit's cloak has a few eyes on it, each filled with many pupils. And those pupils are capable of moving and emoting.
  • False Friend: The Servant of Wrath truly believed that the Hermit was her friend, even though her background should dictate otherwise. Her betrayal towards the Servant is what caused the latter to fill with wrath and guilt towards her actions, swearing to have revenge against the Hermit for breaking her trust.
  • Magic Staff: The Hermit carries one with her.
  • Plant Person: The Hermit herself, as well as her minions, are all made of wood.

    The Drowned Sisters

Click to see the sisters' faces
"Ahh, woe is us. We have become sinners. Please hear us, hear of our sins that we do not know we've committed, and absolve us of our grief..."

An pair of Abnormalities taking the form of two ghost girls wearing grey hanboks. Their faces are normally covered by flowers, one a rose and the other a red lotus.

The sisters are always in search of someone who will listen to their woes, and their endless ramblings are said to be so sorrowful that they take a toll on the sanity of the listener. Though, when the listener leaves the sisters' Containment Unit, they forget everything the sisters told them.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: The sisters have a bluish-gray skin color.
  • Creepy Twins: They look exactly alike, and have spoken in unison once. The only thing that differentiates the two are the flowers that cover their faces.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: The head of one of the sisters can be seen alongside White Lake and Red Queen in a single panel in Episode 22.
  • The Faceless: While the sisters have shown their faces on occasion, those faces are usually covered up by a large flower.
  • Flower Motifs: Each of the two girls has is associated with the particular flower blooming on their face, in reference to the names of the two sisters from their basis fairytale, with the rose flower being Janghwa and the red lotus being Hongryeon.
  • Hates Being Alone: The sisters need Agents to routinely visit their Containment Unit and listen to their stories in order to remain satisfied. They will continue to seek listeners even after work hours have ended, leading to the need to have Agents like Catt work overtime to manage them.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: A form of this is induced in Agents that work on them. Once the Agent leave the unit, they forget every word that the sisters told them, though the feeling of sorrow still remains.
  • Making a Splash: Seem to have limited control over water, as it's implied that they would flood the Containment Unit if they're ignored for too long.
  • Motor Mouth: The Sisters are always looking to speak with someone about the circumstances surrounding their deaths, and denying them any listeners for too long can cause them to become a danger to others.
  • Shout-Out: The Drowned Sisters are presumably based around a Korean fairy tale known as "Janghwa Hongryeon jeon" (lit. The Story of Janghwa and Hongryeon).
  • Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl: The Sisters both possess long, unkempt black hair and are dressed in what appear to be dirty funeral hanboks. However, their faces are each covered with a flower as opposed to their own hair.

    Piscine Mermaid
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/piscine_mermaid.png
Click to see her breaching form
"I am merely in love. I am merely wanting salvation. Please give love to me, a monster..."

A mermaid Abnormality that is in search of love (and a soul). Usually, the most that is seen of the Mermaid is the tail sticking up from the water, but it will surface from time to time. Seems to produce the best results from Repression Work, which consists of throwing sea salt at it.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Sports pink skin.
  • Alien Hair: Her hair is apparently made up of water. This is made more obvious when she breaches in Episode 42.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: While breaching, Piscine Mermaid grows large enough to break through department floors with ease.
  • Armless Biped: Not a biped, but she does lack arms. She does gain some fins while breaching, though.
  • The Assimilator: According to MIMI via Twitter, if one were to accept Piscine Mermaid's "love", she will "absorb" said employee via a kiss before breaching Containment.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Her tail can seen in Episode 22, alongside the legs of various other Abnormalities.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: Her bob-like "hair" appears to be made out of water.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Has irises that are shaped like pink hearts. The irises morph into broken hearts when the Mermaid is aggravated.
  • Eye Scream: While breaching, one of her eyes gets scooped out by Catt. They don't call that spoon the "Eyeball Scooper" for nothing, it seems.
  • The Faceless: Downplayed. She does show her face every so often, but she mainly prefers to keep her upper half out of view, with only her tail showing.
  • Hypno Trinket: Piscine Mermaid will offer a comb adorned with seashells to those who are managing her, as a trinket for their love. It's implied by Catt ripping it off when they stop just short of kissing her that it has a certain amount of influence over the actions and emotions of those who wear it.
  • Love Freak: The Piscine Mermaid is positively obsessed with love; it's literally the only thing she talks about. She'll take any chance to beg anyone in her unit to love her, and some of her dialogue even suggests she's willing to—and has—performed self-mutilation in the name of her obsession.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Is so obsessed with gaining the love of others that she's willing to do nearly anything to earn it. If she comes close to acquiring it but is denied at the last minute, it can drive her to fury and cause her to breach Containment.
  • Motor Mouth: Piscine Mermaid will not shut up for a second about her desire for love so long as there's someone around to listen, and will carry on endlessly unless interrupted in some way, like having salt thrown on her face as part of Repression work.
  • Non-Humans Lack Attributes: It is topless, but lacks any "features" on its chest.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: She looks to resemble a normal mermaid part-wise, but she also lacks arms and has water for hair. Additionally, Repression Work for her involves dumping mass quantities of sea salt into the water in her Containment Unit, implying that—unlike most depictions of mermaids—she is actually a freshwater creature.
  • Psycho Pink: Piscine Mermaid's upper body and heart-pupiled eyes are bright pink in color, belying her unhealthy obsession with being loved by others. Unless you're unlucky enough to have denied her the one thing she desires...
  • Prone to Tears: Just about always has tears falling from her eyes, be it while groveling for the affection of whoever's managing her or violently rampaging through the facility.
  • Salt Solution: Repression Work on Piscine Mermaid takes the form of throwing sea salt into the pool of water she's in.
  • Serial Romeo: Falls in love with everyone who enters her unit, regardless of if the person in question actually returns her feelings.
  • Shout-Out: Piscine Mermaid's desire to have a human soul and to obtain it via love brings to mind the story of The Little Mermaid. The emblem of a heart inside a crown is taken from the 1989 Disney adaptation of the same tale.
    • Her name is "Mermaid Meat" (인어고기) in Korean, which is a reference to a Japanese youkai known as the "ningyo" (人魚, lit. "human fish"), whose flesh would grant immortality to anyone that eats it.
  • Wicked Heart Symbol: She has pink hearts in place of irises and pupils, and her obsession with finding love belies the lengths she's willing to go to in order to obtain it, and subsequently a soul of her own. When breaching, the hearts in her eyes become broken hearts instead.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Piscine Mermaid's ultimate goal is to obtain a soul. Catt nearly complies in giving their own, but ultimately rejects the mermaid's efforts.

    Staining Rose
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stainingrose.PNG

An Abnormality taking the form of a single white rose. It will only work with a single employee that manages to meet the conditions to manage it. If said employee doesn't work on it for a while or if anyone else beside that employee shows up to work on it, the Abnormality will afflict employees with a contagious disease that makes them cough up rose petals until they die.

The rose will gain color once its needs are met, and it will fall silent for a long time, until the color fades and it has to be worked on once again.

In the final arc and epilogue, Taii obtains its E.G.O., "Blooming".

  • Alice Allusion: The Staining Rose is likely based around a scene in Alice in Wonderland, in which the Queen's subjects are painting the white roses in the garden red.
  • The Dreaded: Several of the Department Heads are shown to be terrified of it.
  • Foul Flower: Given what we know about it, this innocuous little flower is very deadly.
  • Hanahaki Disease: If one handles Staining Rose improperly, it makes people hack up flower petals until they die, making it somewhat similar to this trope.
  • Human Sacrifice: The rose requires an Agent who is on the level of Team Captain to "resonate" with it. And it's heavily implied that "resonating" is done via sacrificing said Agent to it, as what had happened with Rose.
  • Mystical Plague: Staining Rose's effects on employees are contagious.
  • Sizeshifter: Normally, the rose is flower-sized, but it's later shown at a larger size while killing Rose.
  • Vampiric Draining: Given how it always turns red whenever it kills people, and how Rose was shown bleeding from their face as they were being sacrificed, it's implied that its red color comes from draining its victims of their blood.

    Gone With a Simple Smile
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/simplesmilemaybe.PNG

A vaguely feline "Abnormality" taking the form of a disembodied cat's face. note  It appears to have powers involving illusions of some kind, changing the background to some sort of purple and blue dimension. In Episode 47, it briefly appears to steal Taii's E.G.O. weapon and disappears without a trace.

  • Alice Allusion: It is based off of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
  • Allegorical Character: Gone With a Simple Smile represents both the last remaining bits of Catt's humanity and Taii's subconcious desire to find and help Catt.
  • Graceful Loser: When Taii catches Gone With a Simple Smile, it hands over their E.G.O. weapon voluntarily.
  • Stealth Pun: invoked According to Word of God, this "Abnormality" represents the last vestige of Catt's humanity. And it's based off the Cheshire Cat.
  • The Trickster: It steals Taii's weapon presumably for shits and giggles.

Aberrations

Similar to subspecies of plants or animals, there exist variations of existing Abnormalities known as "Aberrations", which display subtle differences in appearance and behaviour. They're generally weaker than their original counterparts (save for a few exceptions), but they're still capable of causing trouble.
     The Penitent Girl
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/penitent_girltransparent.png
The Aberration of the Red Shoes. Similar to its original counterpart, this Aberration possesses employees with low Temperance, but instead of chopping off the feet of other people, the charmed victim chops off their own feet.
  • Agony of the Feet: Anyone possessed by the Penitent Girl will chop off their own feet. The Penitent Girl herself also appears to have her feet chopped off.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: The Penitent Girl has hair that covers her whole face.
  • Shout-Out: Like its original counterpart, the Penitent Girl is based on the story of The Red Shoes. More specifically, the protagonist of the story, Karen.
  • Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl: Her stringy hair and loose-fitting tan dress brings to mind the classic image of a ghost girl.

     Pygmalion
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2020_09_14_185034.png
The Aberration of Alriune, and the source of Daisy's E.G.O gear. Also known as "My Own Bride".

It takes the form of a headless doll with flowers and moss growing on it, and accompanying it are four floating fingers with rings on top of them. The rings are capable of shooting projectiles that deal WHITE damage.
  • Fingore: Has four large fingers floating behind it, topped with wedding rings capable of shooting bullets of WHITE damage. Suppressing it involves destroying said fingers.
  • Flower Motifs: Pygmalion's appearance evokes that of a topiary image of a woman covered in pink flowers. Its dress and choker are made of flowers, and it holds a bouquet in its hands. It also spreads flower petals wherever it goes.
  • Flowers of Femininity / Flowers of Romance: It's covered in flowers, and its form greatly resembles that of a wedding bride, complete with a flower bouquet in its hands.
  • Foul Flower: Pygmalion is heavily associated with pink flowers, which serve as a warning of the dangers it poses when it breaches.
  • Green Thumb: Like Alriune, Pygmalion has the ability to make plantlife (mainly flowers) sprout up in its vicinity.
  • Meaningful Name: Pygmalion is the name of a sculptor from Cyprus who carved an ivory statue of his ideal woman and fell in love with it. He prayed to the goddess Aphrodite for a bride that would be the "living likeness of [his] ivory girl" until the statue lady came to life.
  • Mind Rape: Pygmalion's bullets assault one's mind. When Purin gets hit by one of the bullets, they state that it felt like their mind was melting from the hallucinations that Pygmalion caused them to see.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Befitting Pygmalion's title, "My Own Bride", the Abnormality's appearance makes it look like a woman's body (sans head) wearing a very elegant pink wedding dress.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Being an Aberration of Alriune, its body is made up of pink ceramic, and its appearance and title evoke a very feminine image.

     Titania
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/titaniatransparent.png
"Is that you, Oberon? Is it you, who applied the concoction of baneful herb to my eyes?"

The Aberration of Fairy Festival, managed in a branch of Lobotomy Corporation located up north. She is always in search of her husband, "Oberon", whom she declares to be her enemy who steals her kid.

Unlike most Aberrations, who are weaker than the Abnormalities they're based on, Titania is much stronger than the ZAYIN-class Fairy Festival, being that she is an ALEPH.
  • Body Horror: On occasion, Titania's fairy scouts will fly around and make flowers bloom from the bodies of their victims. This can be prevented by another employee swatting them away with RED or WHITE damage.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her sclera are light blue in color, surrounding large pastel pink pupils.
  • The Fair Folk: The smaller fairies seem cute, but they and their queen are far more dangerous than the already dangerous Fairy Festival.
  • I Will Find You: Her end goal is to reunite with her husband/nemesis, Oberon. But according to Alex, the "Oberon" she seeks may very well be non-existent.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: The smaller fairies accompanying Titania sport two sets of arms, and they're capable of killing people by making flowers bloom from their bodies.
  • Power Floats: Titania does have wings, but they don't appear to make any movements indicating that she uses them to fly, so one can only assume she floats through some sort of power of her own.
  • Shout-Out: Titania and Oberon, respectively, are based on the queen and king of fairies featured in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Titania positively dwarfs Nobody Is/Oberon in height, since the latter has assimilated Alex as its new form before meeting her.
  • Transflormation: As demonstrated in Episode 32, Titania is capable of turning people into flowers.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Titania is constantly on the hunt for Oberon, her "husband" who is not believed by her facility's staff to actually exist. After meeting Nobody Is—who had assimilated the appearance of Alex—it takes on the identity of Oberon, thus becoming the husband she had been seeking.
  • "You!" Exclamation: Titania calmly says "It's you." once she sees Nobody Is, mistaking it for Oberon.

     Nobody Is

"...If I earned a name, will I get to receive love and hate from you? Will you remember me as that name, as someone whom you emotionally cared for?"

The Aberration of Nothing There, managed in a northern branch of Lobotomy Corporation. It normally resembles a desk mirror encased in a fleshy frame, but when left alone, it will cocoon and emerge more humanoid.

Similar to its counterpart, "Nobody Is" aims to mimic humans, but rather than mimicking humans in general, it aims to become a particular individual, one with a distinct identity and personality.

  • The Assimilator: Like it's original counterpart, Nobody Is has the ability to take on appearances of the victims it kills.
  • Bishōnen Line: Nobody Is starts out as being a non-humanoid mirror, but if left alone, it will eventually cocoon itself for a while before emerging more humanoid. Though, unlike Nothing There, Nobody Is's cocoon bears great resemblance to its humanoid form.
  • Body Horror: When Nobody Is assimilates into Alex, it looks... off. Its fingers are too long, its eyes are too big... and there's also the fact that its flesh acts as the "clothing" for its human disguise.
  • Combat Tentacles: It can produce long prehensile tentacles from its body for attacking in its humanoid form.
  • Creepy Blue Eyes: Its form as "Alex" makes their blue eyes look unsettlingly large and open, complete with massively blown out pupils.
  • Cyclops: In its pre-assimilation humanoid form, Nobody Is displays a single eye peeking out of the gap in its face.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: After "Alex" takes on its new identity as Oberon, its already unsettling large pupils become pinkish red, ringed by blue irises.
  • Humanoid Abomination: When breaching, Nobody Is gains a humanoid form. However, it is a mass of pink flesh and has holes inside its body.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Nobody Is assimilates into others out of a desire to have its own identity.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: After meeting Titania and adopting the identity of her husband Oberon, its pupils become a dark shade of reddish pink, with the pre-existing blue becoming the color of its sclerae.
  • Technically Naked Shapeshifter: While the exact mechanism of its assimilation is unclear, it's implied that it uses bits of its own flesh to mimic the appearance of clothing, judging from how fleshy its "shirt" looks when taking on Alex's identity.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: After assimilating Alex, Nobody Is takes on the approximate height of an average human. Which means that after meeting Titania and accepting the identify of Oberon, it is barely half as tall as its "wife".
  • Unholy Matrimony: After stealing the appearance of Alex, it meets with fellow ALEPH Titania, who is still searching for her "husband", Oberon. After realizing that taking on the name "Oberon" will allow it to gain its own identity, as well as obsession and hatred from Titania, it agrees to allow itself to be the "husband" she's been seeking.

     Blue-Smocked Shepherd
:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blue_smocked_shepherdtransparent.png
"Silence, eh? We aren't beings that can keep quiet forever, y'know? I know it well. Hmm~ In that case... You'd think I lie when I foretell of a wolf showing up and tearing this basement up too."

The Aberration of Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary, said to be the "master" of the Reddened Buddy. The source of Joe's E.G.O Equipment.

The Shepherd paints themself as a trusty grazier and guardian of the people, telling a mixture of truth and lies in order to convince permission to leave the Containment Unit. However, nobody knows if the Shepherd will actually act like a shepherd when they leave, or if they'll simply cause bloodshed, so when the time comes and they start acting out, the one Agent in the Shepherd's unit must suppress them on their own.
  • Ambiguous Gender: The Shepherd's gender is never stated in the comic. They're presumably based around The Boy Who Cried Wolf, but they're also an Aberration of Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary, who is female. MIMI, though, has clarified via Twitter that the Shepherd's gender is up to interpretation, so take that how you may.
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: The Blue-Smocked Shepherd tortures Reddened Buddy seemingly just for kicks.
  • Bandaged Face: The Shepherd's face is wrapped in bandages from the nose down, covering their mouth and chin.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: When Taii calls the Shepherd "the most crooked Abnormality [they've] ever seen", the Shepherd simply bows in response.
  • Consummate Liar: One of the traits that makes the Blue-Smocked Shepherd so untrustworthy. It's not strictly that the Shepherd lies all the time, but rather that there's never any way to distinguish what is the truth and what's a lie, and they lie with a fair amount of regularity. So to be on the safe side, most generally assume the Shepherd is always telling a lie.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Taii, of all people, manages to suppress the Shepherd without even their E.G.O suit being damaged.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Before their proper introduction in Episode 36, a photograph of the Shepherd was showcased alongside that of Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary's in Episode 6 to demonstrate the concept of Aberrations.
  • Eye Scream: One of the Shepherd's eyes is completely missing, a trait which is shared with Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary.
  • Hyper-Awareness: The Shepherd has displayed an awareness of the other Abnormalities that reside within their facility, as well as other information about them and times they've breached.
  • In the Hood: Similar to the Red-Hooded Mercenary, the Shepherd wears a hooded cape as a part of their ensemble (except their's is blue), which causes the upper half of their face to be covered in shadows.
  • Kick the Dog: Is fully aware that Reddened Buddy only turns savage because of being mistreated and neglected, but simply doesn't care.
  • Mirror Character: Red Riding Hooded Mercenary is vicious and dangerous, but utterly trustworthy as long as you play by her rules, and obsessed with a canine counterpart responsible for an act of spectacular cruelty against her it barely remembers. The Blue-Smocked Shepherd is absolutely unable to be trusted and is indifferent to a canine counterpart that loves them unconditionally, except as a tool to exploit and abuse.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: In an unusual variant of the trope, the Shepherd's sclera is red, while their iris is a very distinct white. Fittingly, the Shepherd is considered a very dangerous Abnormality, as both it and its counterpart Reddened Buddy are noted to have caused deaths and injuries in the past.
  • Shadowed Face, Glowing Eyes: What parts of the Shepherd's face aren't wrapped in bandages are depicted as nothing but shadows under their hood, but their eye and empty eye socket still clearly stand out from within it.
  • Sword Cane: The Shepherd's staff is shown to also act as a sword sheath in Episode 37.
  • The Boy Who Cried Wolf: The Shepherd is presumably based around this concept.

     Reddened Buddy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reddened_buddytransparent.png
Click to see its breaching form
"I shook my split tail hard until flesh fell off it. I lied flat on the floor and begged. I'm a toy to my master. A toy that makes funny noises. My heart for my master... Left only red scars."

The Aberration of the Big and Will-Be-Bad Wolf, and the source of Shasha's E.G.O Equipment. It is connected to the Blue-Smocked Shepherd.

Performing Repression Work on the Blue-Smocked Shepherd can help keep them from doing anything stupid, but this Abnormality will end up suffering continuous damage as a result, flinching and trembling from the pain. Thus, the Instinct Work performed on the Buddy consists of an Agent hugging it tightly.
The Shepherd will eventually go berserk from the continuous Repression Work, however, and the Buddy will transform into a wolf at the same time and breach Containment.
  • Body Horror: When attempting to breach, the Buddy's skin will fall off to reveal a skinned, heavily scarred hound with several pieces of its body missing. The cause seems fairly obvious.
  • Eaten Alive: When rampaging, Buddy will swallow one employee after another to play the part of the wolf.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: When in its base form - a small, cutesy thing reminiscent of a plush dog - the name "Reddened Buddy" fits its innocent appearance, even if it's a bit odd. When pushed to the breaking point by the Shepherd, not so much.
  • Gutted Like a Fish: To save the employees swallowed by the Buddy, nearby Agents will use their E.G.O Weapons to slice open its stomach, leaving the victim free to emerge from the open wound.
  • Healing Factor: So long as the its Master (i.e the Shepherd) is active, the Buddy will continue to rampage and consume as many employees as it can, even after its stomach has been sliced open.
  • Hulking Out: When a certain amount of Repression Work is performed on the Blue-Smocked Shepherd, the Reddened Buddy will undergo a transformation and breach containment.
  • Living Toys: Its base form seems to invoke the idea of a plush dog made animate, with it also calling itself a toy in Episode 37.
  • Love Martyr: All it wants is the attention and affection of the Blue-Smocked Shepherd, but the Shepherd only cares about torturing it.
  • Painful Transformation: Since transforming requires abuse from the Blue-Smocked Shepherd, the change isn't pretty.
  • Swallowed Whole: While breaching, Reddened Buddy will swallow employees one after another. Luckily, said employees can be rescued by cutting the Buddy open, though said employee will end up being covered in stomach acid when retrieved.
  • Tragic Villain: All it wants is its master's affection, even trying to be a wolf to catch their attention. Of course, the Shepherd couldn't care less about the Buddy.
    • This mirrors and contrasts its similarly tragic counterpart, which is a wolf whose desperate hunger will always, inevitably, turn it into a cruel-hearted monster, and has long ago given up anything more than a token resistance to this after countless instances of succumbing and having to deal with the hatred and misery that comes with being a fairy tale wolf. Whereas the Big and Will-Be-Bad Wolf has stopped caring, Reddened Buddy is driven to a similar state by its inability to do so. It also inverts the relationship between the two and their counterparts. Red Riding Hooded Mercenary is obsessed with the Big and Will-Be-Bad Wolf, who barely remembers the incident that caused her animosity and reacts to her only out of instinctual recognition of her threat, while Reddened Buddy is obsessed with pleasing Blue-Smocked Shepherd, who is only interested in them as a target of abuse and exploitation.
  • Wingding Eyes: Gets X-shaped eyes as it's crying from the Blue-Smocked Shepherd's abuse of it in Episode 36.

Others

     Manual A.I.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/manual.png
"Then let us begin with our work, manager. I give you a warm welcome to Lobotomy Corporation."

A holographic assistant resembling Angela from Lobotomy Corporation.
  • Affectionate Nickname: In the Manager's last will, Manual is referred to as "Angel".
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Much like Angela, Manual's purpose within Branch O-5681 is to assist the Manager in charge and to keep them safe within the room. This also means that she absolutely does not care about anyone besides said Manager, and is perfectly content with ignoring the employees' suffering in favor of keeping the Manager distanced from the more gruesome parts of the facility.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Like Angela, Manual's eyes are normally closed, though they do open every once in a while.
  • Hologram: Manual is a hologram who serves as the Manager's assistant in this branch. Whether or not this is indeed Angela, or simply someone that resembles her, is unclear.
  • Lack of Empathy: A trait which Manual shares with Angela. For instance, while watching employees be killed by Hookah Caterpillar as they desperately beg for the Manager's help, Manual says this with a malicious expression:
Manual: "Fear not. They are no more. It's just you and me in this room. Our management office is as safe as ever."
  • Meaningful Name: "Manual" acts a manual for the Manager, giving information about the ins and outs of Lobotomy Corporation.
  • The Stoic: Manual rarely shows any emotion.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: The rare times Manual's eyes are open, they're a very eerie shade of golden yellow, likely to cement their status as an inhuman A.I.

     Flower
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flowertransparent.png
"So I, Flower, am going to suggest the 'Branch-wide Temperance Improvement Campaign'!!"

A bright, upbeat clerk from the Disciplinary Department. They're a good friend to Taii.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Their skin is very pink.
  • Buffy Speak: Causing people to chop off their own feet... or decafeetation?
  • Crash-Into Hello: Meets Taii by crashing into them while carrying a stack of documents.
  • Genki Girl: One of the more cheery characters introduced in Wonderlab.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Despite presumably being an adult of working age, their pigtails combined with their chipper attitude makes them appear very youthful. Thy're shown to have longer pigtails as the head of the Bloom Office.
  • Hidden Depths: Word of God states that, despite their cheery demeanor, Flower also has a strong will and doesn't easily undergo panic, hence why they've managed to survive their workplace for so long. They also seem to be one of the few people to remain relatively unaffected by the Seed of Light once it hits.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After discovering the truth of the Staining Rose alongside Taii, Flower becomes more gloomy in subsequent episodes, smiling less often than before.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Their hair is a bright pink, and they are probably one of the nicest characters in the comic.
  • Third-Person Person: Flower sometimes refers to themself in the third person, though this doesn't happen very often.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Flower's appearance once they found the Bloom Office makes them greatly resemble Chibi-Usa.

     Alex
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alexwonderlabtransparent.png
"The blue of your eyes gleams like glass. It has become an earnest wish of mine to be an Abnormality managed by a person such as you."

The top employee of a large branch of Lobotomy Corporation located to the north of the Nest that O-5681 resides in, known by the nickname, "Al".

This employee is the guide of an educational Workshopnote  session held within said branch. Has an infatuation with Rose. Eventually ends up being assimilated into "Nobody Is" after trying to fend it off during a major containment breach.

  • Admiring the Abomination: Played with. Al makes many comments where they call various Abnormalities "beautiful" or otherwise compliment their appearance. Though they do also call them "disgusting" in the same breath.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: When first meeting Rose, Al attempts to flirt with them by expressing a wish to be an Abnormality, if only to be managed by Rose. Guess what happens to them after doing battle with Nobody Is.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Has attempted to flirt with Rose on multiple occasions, to no avail.
  • Killed Off for Real: They are assimilated into Nobody Is. It then steals Alex's identity.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Introduces themself with their full name, "Alex", but from then on, they're called only by their nickname of "Al".
  • You Shall Not Pass!: In order to take responsibility on their facility's behalf for failing to contain the Abnormalities, and as an attempted romantic gesture towards Rose, Al decides to stay behind and hold off Nobody Is to give Rose, Catt, and Taii enough time to escape before the branch collapses.

     Beozzi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cherry_8.png
"We build relationships in the process of using each other. That's what friends are for. Use them and they use you, but both enjoy that exploitation."

The former captain of the Safety Team, and one of the only employees responsible for the Servant of Wrath.

Beozzi has a poor understanding of friendship, believing that they can only make friends if they themself are useful/strong. They ended up being killed off after being transformed into the Hermit of the Azure Forest for trying to make friends with the Servant.
  • Coordinated Clothes: Beozzi's clothing is strikingly similar to the outfit worn by the Abnormality they're often seen with, the Servant of Wrath (likely due to being the Servant's associated E.G.O.), except with some slight alterations; Beozzi's chest sports a ribbon where the Servant has a cravat, they wear grey socks with their shoes while the Servant just wears slippers, the green gems studding the Servant's outfit are absent on Beozzi's, and there are two small white ribbons on each side of their waist.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Beozzi has brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Beozzi initially appears shocked as they're transformed into the Hermit by the Servant, but then transitions into an unsettlingly accepting smile as they make no move to fight what's happening.
  • Expy: Beozzi's design and connection to magical girls are apparently drawn from Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura.
  • Forced Transformation: After accidentally triggering the Servant of Wrath's transformation, Beozzi's E.G.O gift transforms them into the Hermit of the Azure Forest, for the sole purpose of allowing the Servant to relive her past betrayal. Because of the Hermit's death being required to suppress the Servant, this ultimately leads to Beozzi's death.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Beozzi started as a lower level Agent who longed to be special to deserve respect and recognition from others. Even after recieving the Servant of Wrath's gift and befriending other team captains, they continue to believe themself to be useless and further nurse their insecurities. This culminates in them having a breakdown over Beozzi ordering them on temporary leave, thinking that they were going to be replaced altogether, which leads to the Servant transforming them into the Hermit, becoming indirectly being responsible for the deaths of several lower-level Agents in the process.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Beozzi's hair is tied back in a pair of short, low-set pigtails on either side of their neck.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Their main motivation in the story and the reason behind their clinginess to the Servant of Wrath. Beozzi believes that they don't have friends because they themself are weak (and therefore "useless" to others), which fuels their desire to get stronger and become friends with Catt, whom they believe is the strongest captain of them all. Their "friendship" and emotional attachment to the Servant of Wrath is also because of this, as they believe that the Servant of Wrath is the only one in the world who depends on them. This mindset leads to them being transformed into the Hermit of the Azure Forest by the Servant, since this friendship reminded the Servant of her past.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Another part of Beozzi's hangup is that they believe that whether or not someone is able to make friends depends on how "useful" they are. And because they believe themself to be "useless", with no special qualities or talents that cause people to notice them, they aren't able to earn anyone's friendship.
  • Important Hair Accessory: Upon "befriending" the Servant of Wrath, she gives Beozzi her E.G.O gift, signifying their new bond and friendship, as well as giving them the ability to call for her aid. Ultimately, Beozzi being asked to give it up due to its high Enkephalin levels was what lead to their breakdown and subsequent transformation into the Hermit.
  • Killed Off for Real: They are transformed into the Hermit of the Azure Forest as a part of the Servant of Wrath's "play", and subsequently killed in order to properly end it.
  • Meaningful Name: The way that Beozzi's name is written in Hangul can mean "cherry", and Beozzi themself is based off of the title character Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. The name "Sakura" itself means "cherry blossom" in Japanese.
  • Nonstandard Character Design: Beozzi's feet are drawn in a way that resembles hooves.
  • Summon Magic: Beozzi is never seen fighting directly. The main way they aid in combat is calling for aid from the Servant of Wrath with their E.G.O. gift, which will summon her to appear to Beozzi's location, and returning to containment once she's finished.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Towards Catt, or so they try. Beozzi has a strong desire to befriend powerful people, as it's a sign of themself being good enough to be "useful" to them. They pester Catt a lot and try to convince them to "use" them, while simultaneously talking down the traits of the other Team Captains as reasons they're not good enough for Beozzi to desire the same friendship with. It's for this reason that they're also so heavily derisive towards Rose and Taii, seeing them as "useless" and not good enough to be Catt's friends. Not that any of it works in the end, as Catt ends up ignoring Beozzi's befriending attempts at every turn.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: At the start of Episode 27, Beozzi is shown curled up in a fetal position as they vent to the Servant of Wrath.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Beozzi sometimes attempts to aid in the cleanup after breaches by asking the Servant of Wrath to spray a mild acid on debris to melt it all away. However, this often provides less help than they believe, because then it just means someone still has to clean the leftover acid. And this is before the Servant begins to become unstable and less able to control her acid's potency.

Spoiler Characters (All Spoilers Unmarked)

     The Manager
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andthemanyshellscriedoutoneword.PNG
The head of Branch O-5681, who's tasked with overseeing the management of Abnormalities and the process of turning their Enkephalin into energy...or at least, they would be, had they not died before the beginning of the story.
  • Ambiguous Gender: The gender identity of the Manager is unclear. It doesn't really matter, considering they're dead.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: More like Contrasting Spinoff Antagonist, but they're this with A (Ayin), the Manager of the main branch of Lobotomy Corporation, X-394. Ayin was dismissive of his A.I. assistant Angela from the start and wanted nothing to do with her, while the Manager of O-5681 was positively obsessed with their "angel", Manual, to the point of suicide after discovering that Manual underwent a reset. Ayin, as the player character, had total control over the main facility and its process of managing Abnormalities, whereas the Managernote  appears to have been very hands-off with their oversight and allowed distribution to be handled by the Department Heads while they isolated themself in their office.
  • Driven to Suicide: The Manager of this branch had been infatuated with their holographic assistant, Manual, and had expressed that they didn't care for Lobotomy Corporation or any of the Wings, only for Manual. However, Manual was but a mere hologram, a hologram that could never reciprocate the Manager's feelings, evident by the fact that Manual had undergone a reset. The realization that the "angel" that the Manager so loved was gone had driven the Manager to despair, leading them to take their own life.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": They're only ever known as "Manager".
  • The Ghost: Their existence is most definitely known to the other employees, but their actual appearance is never revealed until Episode 48...where they're already long-dead by then.
  • Goodbye, Cruel World!: A suicide note can be found besides their corpse, which reveals that they did so out of despair of their "angel" (i.e Manual) having undergone a factory reset.
  • Posthumous Character: The Manager has been dead for what is apparently a very long time, given that their corpse appears to be mummified by the time Catt comes across it.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The Manager is obviously long dead by this point, but finding their corpse is ultimately the final straw for Catt, and learning that the Manager was never watching from behind their cameras is ultimately what causes Catt to distort.
  • Walking Spoiler: To discuss the existence of the Manager of O-5681 would inevitably lead to the reveal that they were Dead All Along.

     A Party Everlasting
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alison_wonderland.png
"The mind is fated to distort. The only thing I had; it got twisted.
A noble mind lasted a lifetime, plucked. What I'd lost once, lost again. And ultimately rejected all. Thus now we party. Wondrous and everlasting."

A four-legged creature accompanied by a small white rabbit-like entity. This is not an Abnormality, but a Distortion.note  More specifically, this Distortion is the end result of former Disciplinary Team Captain, Catt, having given in to guilt over allowing Rose to die because of Staining Rose, along with the despair of finding that they and their fellow Agents' suffering was ultimately meaningless.
  • Alice Allusion: To top off all of the Alice in Wonderland references within the comic, this Distortion's appearance invokes the title character, Alice. The rabbit accompanying it is also based around the White Rabbit.
    • In addition, A Party Everlasting makes references to the Hatter's eternal tea party.
  • Beyond Redemption: Though Taii does manage to save Catt briefly, it lasts a mere few moments before they return to being a Party Everlasting. Since they believe themself beyond help, and are unable to forgive themself after the events that transpired, they conclude that they're not ready to be redeemed just yet before leaving the facility's ruins.
  • Creepy Blue Eyes: Both of the irises in this Distortion's eyes are blue.
  • The Dividual: A Party Everlasting and the guide rabbit are two separate parts of a single Distortion. The rabbit in particular acts as an external organ (specifically Catt's heart, placed outside the body).
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Appeared in Episode 22 as little more than two pairs of legs.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: A brief close-up on one of its eyes reveals it has two overlapping irises and pupils.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: A Party Everlasting has hair that covers its face. We get brief glimpses of one of its eyes, but nothing more.
  • Flechette Storm: During the confrontation with Taii in Episode 52, A Party Everlasting is shown firing off the arrows above its head at the Agent.
  • Hellish Pupils: One of A Party Everlasting's pupils are slit like a snake's.
  • Literal Metaphor: Catt mentions how they had "cut out their heart" to survive in the workplace. invoked Word of God mentions that the small rabbit guide is the heart of A Party Everlasting, literally placed outside of them.
  • Modesty Shorts: A Party Everlasting wears what appears to be four-legged bloomers beneath the "skirt" portion of its body, as can be seen when preparing to attack Beebi in Episode 50.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: A Party Everlasting's appearance vaguely resembles that of a centaur, with a four-legged lower half combined with a thinner, more humanoid upper half. Though unlike a typical centaur, the lower half has human legs and the "body" resembles an upside-down teacup, while the upper body lack arms, and merely consists of a head attached to a long neck.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Since Distortions like this one were a recent phenomenon at the time of the "A Party Everlasting" arc, nobody in Branch O-5681 knows what a Distortion is, or even how to deal with one.
  • Overdrawn at the Blood Bank: It is constantly leaking an unknown pink fluid (that may or may not be some form of Alien Blood) from its neck. It gets to the point where it starts to flood the entire room up to people's knees.
  • Straw Nihilist: Has apparently taken on this mentality according to Episode 53. Having concluded that their heart would end up falling into despair no matter what, and that their suffering was ultimately meaningless, Catt chose to reject not only their own humanity, but also shut themself off entirely in favor of "partying" with the Abnormalities for eternity, seeming to have no qualms over the casualties that result.
  • Thinking Up Portals: The rabbit is able to conjure up rabbit holes that act as portals.
  • Tragic Monster: Catt, after undergoing the Despair Event Horizon that followed Rose's death and discovering the truth behind O-5681's Manager, ended up giving in to the Voice that called for them (a.k.a Carmen) and becoming this entity.
  • Walking Spoiler: You cannot speak about this Distortion without bringing up that it is the distorted form of Catt.
  • Your Size May Vary: The size of the Party Everlasting changes from time to time. Sometimes, it's shown to be only slightly larger than the average human, while other times, it becomes large enough to dwarf the other characters, such as when it tries to attack Beebi in Episode 50, or when Taii is shown to be smaller than one of its upper legs in Episode 53.
