    Dr. Rockzo

Leonard Rockstein aka Dr. Rockzo, The Rock & Roll Clown (he does cocaine)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rockzo.jpg
Rockzo on the left, Rockstein on the right
Voiced by: Tommy Blacha (speaking), Brendon Small (singing)

Rockzo: I DO COCAI—
Crozier: Yes, I know.

A cocaine-addicted reprobate who dresses like a clown and is a frequent annoyance to Dethklok (minus Toki). In his prime, he was the famous frontman of a clown-themed, glam-rock band called Zazz Blammymatazz.

  • Addled Addict: His drug addiction has absolutely ruined his life, as well as any attempts to return to stardom. If Nathan is to be believed, previous attempts to reunite Zazz Blammymatazz have ended in failure largely due to Rockzo ingesting drugs, usually cocaine. While he tried to get sober and succeeded in "Cleanzo", he ends up relapsing in "Snakes N' Barrels II" because he kept hallucinating his Dr. Rockzo persona.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Subverted. His childhood photo in "Cleanzo" reveals that he was white, so it's likely that his skin might've darkened from years of drug use, face paint, or possible tanning.
  • Amusing Injuries:
    • His nose falls off at the very end of "Cleanzo", likely due to his extensive history of snorting cocaine, but by "Snakes N' Barrels II" it's reattached again with no explanation.
    • According to Nathan, Rockzo stole money from a drug cartel and got shot in the groin when he refused to give the money back, so now he "pees out of the side of his dick". It's treated as one of Rockzo's many misadventures and is never mentioned again.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In "The Doomstar Requiem", he comes to the aid of the Nathan, Pickles, Murderface, and Skwisgaar to get past a bunch of junkies so they can reach Toki.
  • Broken Ace: During the 1980s, before Dethklok existed, he led one of the most popular bands in the world, Zazz Blammymatazz. However, his drug habits and a romantic encounter with an underage girl led to the band's untimely breakup. When they try to reunite, he can still sing to the point where it makes Nathan, who is considered the best singer in the world, think Rockzo is "f!@#ing amazing" despite 20 years of drugs and not performing. But his drug habits (and more importantly Dethklok unintentionally ruining his concert) destroy any chance of him ever returning to any form of mainstream popularity.
  • Butt-Monkey: He's often the target of humiliation and suffering due to his own actions as well as Dethklok's.
  • Cassandra Truth: Though it doesn't help that it was mostly he was jealous of Toki hanging out with Magnus.
  • Character Catchphrase: "I'm Dr. Rockzo, The Rock and Roll Clown, and I do c-c-cocaine!", "C-c-c-yeah baby!", and "Uh oh!", the last one in the same tone as David Lee Roth.
  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: One reason he couldn't stay clean.
  • Demoted to Extra: He has one musical number in "Army of the Doomstar", but otherwise, he has no significant role in the plot.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: In "The Church of the Black Klok" He is absolutely right about Magnus Hammersmith.
  • Easily Forgiven: By Toki, over and over again. Even after supposedly having cut himself off from the clown for good.
    • This was addressed in his first appearance, then retconned in season three: Toki has a natural affinity for clowns, even having serial killer John Wayne Gacy perform as Pogo the Clown, prior to the reveal that he was Norwegian and his parents look like they came straight out of a Middle Ages Bergman film. They later retconned him being similar to a talking clown doll that Toki kept with him when his father locked him in a pit as punishment as a child.
  • Ephebophile: Which explains his attraction to 14-year-old Dory and, twenty years later, her daughter (who's about the same age as Dory was during their affair).
  • Freudian Excuse: Revealed in the comic books. While he was a child living in an orphanage, he found a record of Mashed Potato Johnson's music. While it got young Leonard interested in music, apparently the blues music enhanced by Johnson's Deal with the Devil was so depressing that he was almost Driven to Suicide. He overcame his childhood depression by turning to cocaine, and the rest is history.
  • The Friend No One Likes: Toki is the only member of Dethklok who likes him. Everyone else makes it clear that they despise him. Even Offdensen will have him tortured and beaten more than necessary.
  • Genius Ditz: In his Day in the Limelight, it's shown that he really is an impressively talented singer and musician, despite years of no practice and cocaine abuse. Other than that, he's... kind of a mess.
  • Good Costume Switch: He sports a white version of his outfit in "The Doomstar Requiem" when he saves Dethklok from junkies.
  • Groin Attack: According to Nathan, one of Rockzo's Zazz Blammymatazz reunion concerts got cancelled because he stole money from a drug cartel to buy cocaine. When the leader of said cartel demanded the money back, Rockzo refused and he was shot in the groin for his troubles.
  • Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Sort of. He's still got a wicked mane, but the top of his dome is totally bald. He covers it with a hat.
  • Interrupted Suicide: In "Dethzazz".
  • I Was Quite a Looker: During Zazz Blammymatazz's heyday, Rockzo looked alright, but after he was kicked out of the band over a misunderstanding (and cocaine), he started letting himself go.
  • Karma Houdini: In "Dethmas". Then later episodes reveal that he's gone to jail and been on the receiving end of Prison Rape.
  • Large Ham: Often loves to shout that HE DOES COCAINE!
  • Loose Lips: Rockzo is constantly declaring his drug habit to the world even when he should really be keeping his mouth shut, at one point blurting it out while a cop was standing three feet in front of him. He also wrote a song bragging about his sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl with explicit lyrics. Predictably, the police caught onto him.
  • The Mole: Briefly acted as an agent for the Tribunal in "Dethclown".
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Of David Lee Roth. Rockzo even uses an imitation of his vocal style, hitting almost every note a quarter-tone flat. His old band, Zazz Blazzymatazz, appears to be based on Van Halen.
  • The Production Curse: In-universe, part of the reason for his current dire straits is that Zazz Blammymatazz has had four different attempts at a reunion concert, and all of them ended up being cancelled by the first night. That said, only one of those times wasn't directly Rockzo's fault.
  • Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll: Especially drugs!
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: His shrill speaking voice and his David Lee Roth-esque singing voice are night and day from each other.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: His Dr. Rockzo persona, which is the personality he is adopting most of the time anyway.
  • The Unfettered: He's done everything to get high.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: What the band and Charles believe he is to Toki, considering their hateful and sometimes hostile treatment to him when Toki's not looking and asking Toki why he still hangs out with him. Considering that his second appearance is him and Toki in a drunken driving spree while shooting guns, it's justified in their eyes.
  • Verbal Tic: Has a habit of stuttering a hard C sound before words, even if they don't begin with that sound (such as "I need your c-c-c-help!"). Likely due to his infatuation with c-c-cocaine.
  • Villainous Harlequin: He's the rock and roll clown, and he works for the Tribunal as a mole, seduced a fourteen-year-old girl, and constantly harasses Dethklok.

    Snakes N' Barrels

Snakes N' Barrels

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snb_0.jpg
Left to right: bass guitarist Antonio "Tony" Demarco Thunderbottom, rhythm guitarist Snizzy "Snazz" Bullets, drummer Sammy "Candynose" Twinskins
Voiced by: Michael Amott (Tony), Steve Smyth (Bullets), and Warrel Dane (Sammy)

A glam rock act formerly fronted by Pickles. When he left for Dethklok, the rest of the band hit the skids. They suddenly got a rise in popularity again after a Snakes N' Barrels documentary aired (no doubt thanks to Pickles' popularity) and even started a reunion tour with Pickles. Unfortunately, after they ingested the Tribunal's drug, "Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake", they were rendered blank slates, except for Pickles thanks to a lifetime of drugs and alcohol.

  • The '80s: They were very popular around this decade, and their outfits before Pickles left were patterned off the decade's fashion.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: The guys were okay-looking in their hey-day, but after Pickles left, they really started letting themselves go. They surprisingly became quite handsome again after they were rehabilitated and had Rikki Kixx be their new frontman.
  • Lesser Star: The remaining band members after Pickles left. While Pickles became a world-famed death metal musician and a multi-billionaire, the rest of his old band fell into poverty and sobriety. In fact, the only reason the band even had a sudden rise in popularity again was because of a documentary about them mentioned how Pickles was one of them before he became the drummer for Dethklok.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: As a whole, they're a parody of glam and hair metal bands like Guns N' Roses. Like Guns N' Roses, Snakes N' Barrels was hugely popular in the 80s, but later became associated with heavy drug abuse and scandals, with the classic lineup being replaced by new members. Individually, members Thunderbottom, Candynose, and Bullets are based off Slash, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett, and Joe Perry respectively.
  • No One Could Survive That!: After taking some very heavy drugs, the audience wondered if they overdosed.
  • Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll: Before they got clean. They immediately relapsed due to the Tribunal's mind control drug.

    Dethklok Minute Host

Dethklok Minute Host

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dmh_before.jpg
Click here to see him after his disfigurement
Voiced by: Tommy Blacha, Brendon Small (DSR)

TV host of "The Dethklok Minute", a gossip program that reports on Dethklok's celebrity activities.

  • Facial Horror: Relatively downplayed considering how brutal his initial injuries were. That said, his later appearances show what appears to be a trail of drool on his mouth so clearly some of his facial organs aren't as functional any more.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: His looks and voice appear to be based on Billy Bush, former anchor of the celebrity gossip program Access Hollywood.
  • No One Could Survive That!: At the end of "P.R. Pickles", a fragment of a meteor strikes his studio and he's horrifically burnt in the ensuing explosion with his most of his skin seemingly melting off. He continues to show up later with fairly minor facial injuries and still as enthusiastic as ever.
  • Perpetual Smiler: It's possible his injuries may be preventing him from doing other facial expressions but it's not like he ever stopped smiling even before that.

    Eric Jomfru

Eric Jomfru

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ericj.png
Voiced by: Tommy Blacha

The other half of the Jomfru brothers that tried to blackmail Dethklok for money. Unlike Edgar, he doesn't survive screwing with Dethklok.

  • Big Brother Instinct: During a flashback in "The Doomstar Requiem", when they got in a car crash after attending a Dethklok concert and Edgar's legs were paralyzed underneath the overturned car, Eric managed to lift the car and carry Edgar to safety moments before the car exploded.
  • Evil Genius: Subverted. After revealing his well thought-out plans to Dethklok, he was killed shortly afterward.
  • Fat and Skinny: He was the skinny to Edgar's fat.
  • Killed Off for Real: Sniped mercilessly by one of Dethklok's minions for threatening the band.
  • Meaningful Name: His last name; see Edgar's entry for more details.
  • Nerd Glasses: Wore a pair of these before his death.
  • No One Could Survive That!: He Didn't Get Better.
  • Smug Snake: Arrogantly thought he and his brother could get away with blackmailing Dethklok, even mocking their threats of physical violence.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Did he and his brother really expect Dethklok to sit there while they tried to blackmail them?
  • Your Head A-Splode: Via a high-powered sniper round. The remains of his face was later used as mask worn by the Teenager.

    Roy Cornickelson

Roy Cornickelson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/royc.jpg
Voiced by: Mark Hamill

Head of Crystal Mountain Records and Dethklok's boss.

  • The Dreaded: A more benevolent version. Even normally unflappable Charles (who handled possible Dethklok-induced nuclear Armageddon with poise) is nervous when Roy isn't happy.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Confronts Salacia solely to give Dethklok a chance to get away safely.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: In comparison to his Jerkass son Damien (see below).
  • Human Shield: His corpse was used as this by Offdensen in self-defense against the Metal Masked Assassin.
  • It Has Been an Honor: His last speech to Dethklok, just before they play their final concert.
  • Killed Off for Real: By Salacia.
  • Plot-Induced Illness: Falls terminally ill in "Renovationklok", allowing his asshole son to take charge of the company and try to and financially screw over Dethklok while they're at their most financially vulnerable. He apparently makes a full recovery as he seems perfectly fine in later episodes.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: And Dethklok as well as Offdensen consider it his best quality.
  • The Team Benefactor: Revealed in a flashback in the season 3 premiere to be the head of Dethklok's Record Company, Crystal Mountain Records meaning he's been Dethklok's primary source of funding for the entire past 2 seasons. When he falls terminally ill, his asshole son refuses to provide any more funding to Dethklok until they sign his new contract that would ruin their careers.

    Ishnifus Meaddle

Ishnifus Meaddle

Voiced by: Werner Herzog, Brendon Small (DSR)
"Is that old guy supposed to be Santa Claus or some shit? Are we getting presents? What is happening here?!"
Murderface

The leading priest of the Church of the Black Klok.

  • Ancient Tradition: He's the leader of one that's been preparing to help Dethklok for thousands of years.
  • Big Good: Leads the Church that's been preparing for the coming of Dethklok for thousands of years. The church's first confirmed action in the series is reviving fellow Big Good, Offdensen after he died witnessing Salacia's power. Offdensen also implies that the church has indirectly saved Dethklok's lives a number of times.
    • When Offdensen leaves in "The Doomstar Requiem", he's the one that leads Dethklok and offers guidance in finding Toki. After he dies protecting Dethklok, Offdensen ends up taking his role as the high priest of the Church of the Black Klok.
  • Defiant to the End: As he faces down the Masked Assassin, he boldly states he doesn't fear him.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Is quoted on the back of the Season 3 DVD box, which also mentions the Church of the Black Klok:
In any other event, bloodshed, whoredom, and miscreantology could have been avoided… With others than but our beast-daughters Dethklok. Theirs and their bastard children's legacy insures infinite tortured blackness... None shall birth no more... Let the Metalocalypse take us.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Distracts the Revengencers to buy Dethklok more time to rescue Toki in The Doomstar Requiem.
  • High Priest: Of the Church of the Black Klok.
  • Off with His Head!: Courtesy of the Metal Masked Assassin.
  • The Prophecy: He was the one who revealed it to Offdensen, and the one who quotes from it in the opening moments of several Season 4 episodes.

    The Whale Prophet
Voiced by: Samantha Eggar (Season 4), Juliet Mills (AOTD)

A mysterious blue humpback whale Nathan starts communicating with in his dreams.

  • Back for the Finale: After Dethklok manages to push back Salacia towards the ocean, she confirms her godhood by swallowing Salacia and killing him.
  • Big Good: It's implied she is this for the entire show. She advises Nathan to destroy Dethklok's then-latest album which prevents the Tribunal from using the potential album profits to fund the Falconback Project, and true to her name, she gives vague prophecies that serve as Foreshadowing for later events. She turns out to be part of the Church of the Black Klok's prophecy as a drawing of her is included on a cave wall alongside Dethklok. In Army of the Doomstar, she influences Nathan's character growth with the question "Will you be the fist or the hand?" and she shows up to kill Salacia after he's pushed to the sea by Dethklok, further implying that she might be a goddess of sorts.
  • The Chooser of the One: Only Nathan was chosen by her to carry out her will, and much of his actions in season 4 onward were driven by this.
  • Gentle Giant: She's a huge blue humpback whale, and she's a benevolent character who guides Nathan (and therefore Dethklok) in saving the world from the Tribunal, especially Salacia.
  • Psychic Powers: She can use Telepathy to talk to others and, as indicated by her name, she has genuine precognitive abilities which she uses to relay several prophecies to Nathan.
  • Sapient Cetaceans: She's a blue humpback whale who, from season 4 onwards, communicates with Nathan through telepathic dreaming and serves as a mentor figure for him.
  • Spanner in the Works: The psychic guidance she gives Nathan from Season 4 onwards is what allowed Dethklok and their allies to set back the Tribunal's plans for world domination. She also kills Salacia herself during the climax of Army of the Doomstar, personally showing up to bite the Humanoid Abomination in half and drag his corpse to the deepest depths of the sea.
  • Telepathy: Being a whale, this is likely how she primarily communicates with Nathan, as much of her interactions with him take place in his dreams and Mare Veridates trip.

One-Off Characters (in order of appearance)

Season 1

    Mustakrakish

Mustakrakish

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mustakrakish.jpg
Voiced by: James Hetfield

A Finnish lake troll summoned by Dethklok by accident, after performing an ancient folk song that awakens it from its sleep.

  • All Trolls Are Different: is several stories tall with red skin, gangly limbs, claws, and fangs. It appears to hate (or enjoy destroying) modern technology, or at least high-tension electrical lines, and its only weaknesses seem to be lullabies (which put it to sleep in the bottom of a lake) and sharp objects lodged in its throat. And it's summoned with The Power of Rock. Do note that the Scandinavian members of Dethklok recognize it.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever
  • Killed Off for Real: He is killed when he accidentally swallows Murderface's spiky Dethphone, causing him to disembowel himself trying to remove it from his throat.

    Fatty Ding-Dongs

Fatty Ding-Dongs

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fatkid.jpg
Voiced by(?): Jack Black (DSR)

A foster kid adopted by Dethklok under the mistaken assumption that it could be counted as a tax credit.

  • Fat Bastard: Downplayed. He's just ill-behaved and wild, and Dethklok's treatment of him doesn't help at all.
  • Fat Comic Relief: In case Dethklok's name for him didn't tip you off. He behaves more like a wild pig than a guy who's over 14 years old and he's introduced chewing on a brick wall.
  • Foster Kid: In and out of foster homes for 14 years.
  • Hilariously Abusive Childhood: In the few weeks he's been with Dethklok, he's been neutered, tasered, and leashed to a pole on Mordhaus' front lawn. And that's just what they've shown.
  • Lethally Stupid: Messes around with a huge laser light device during Dethklok's charity concert with the London Philharmonic. The powerful laser beams ends up bisecting the entirety of said Philharmonic.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Last seen getting mauled by a bunch of cats on Krangor Island. According to Brendon Small, he's still living with the cats but may have contracted feline AIDS.
    • Possibly confirmed in "The Doomstar Requiem" though the credits only refer to him as a "Fat Fan", and it may just be a similar character design.
  • Parental Abandonment: At the end of his debut episode "Fatklok", Dethklok decides that they can't handle being his parents anymore after he accidentally activates a deadly laser beam during an important charity concert and killing the London Philharmonic. Rather than return him to a foster home, they leave him on Krangor Island... which they just filled of wild, feral cats.
  • Short Teens, Tall Adults: At least 14 years old and more than a head shorter than all of the adult characters around him.
  • The Speechless: Only capable of screaming and grunting like a pig in "Fatklok".
  • Suddenly Voiced: May have gained a singing voice in "The Doomstar Requiem" during the song "The Fans Are Chatting" though within context he's only posting a message on the internet about the rumors regarding Toki being missing (and it may just be a similar character design).

    Mashed Potato Johnson

Mashed Potato Johnson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mashed_potato_johnson.jpg
Voiced by: Brendon Small

An old Mississippi blues man, who comes to teach Dethklok the power of the blues.

  • Cool Old Guy:
    • In the comics, he fights the ghost of a serial killer on a large train that Dethklok is performing on. While he gets some good hits in, the ghost is in a younger body, and overpowers him. Then Johnson summons the Blues Devil, and has the spirit taken down to hell, freeing his own soul.
    • In his first appearance, he manages to breach the gates of Mordhaus by himself without a scratch on him.
    • While Dethklok is playing "Murdertrain a Comin'" on the first Dethalbum's bonus disc, Johnson pops in and does some blues guitar soloing, and is even able to get Skwisgaar to slow his guitar down to match the tempo and melody - considering that Skwisgaar and Toki needed cinderblocks tied to their arms to slow down in "Bluesklok", this shows how well he's been able to teach them. He exits the song with a deep "Dethklok rules!"
  • Deal with the Devil: Rumored to have done this according to the Tribunal and further elaborated upon in the comics. The deal helped him write blues music that let him enjoy success for most of his life. Then he realized that it was his music people loved, not him. His music would live on with people listening to and performing his songs but he himself would be forgotten to time.
  • Magical Negro: With the power of the Blues, he can do some amazing things. And he was more than happy to teach Dethklok about it.
  • Old Master: To Dethklok.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Possibly a Stage Name.
  • Token Minority: Is a black Southerner, which contrasts the Caucasian Dethklok band.
  • Uncertain Doom: In the comics, taking place sometime prior to "Doublebookedklok", he's last seen inside Dethklok's gigantic "Dethtrain" heading off a cliff at breakneck speeds into shark-infested waters with the Blues Devil sarcastically wishing him luck getting off.

    Rebecca Nightrod

Rebecca Nightrod

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rebecca_1.jpg
Voiced by: Laura Silverman

A raving bitch who becomes Nathan's brief girlfriend.

  • Beauty Is Bad: A beautiful celebrity tennis player who is an utter bitch and treated Nathan like shit during their time together.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted; after falling down several flights of stairs, she's in the hospital with a coma, her face heavily disfigured and missing some teeth.
  • Dude, She's Like in a Coma: But that doesn't stop her from (somehow) breaking up with Nathan and getting a new boyfriend.
  • Expy: Possibly of Linda from Home Movies, another show by Brendon Small. Both are rich, attractive blonde women who have incredibly crappy relationships with their significant others. They also share the same voice actress.
  • Girl of the Week: And how!
  • I'm Okay!: Utters this after falling down the first flight of stairs. Then she keeps going and going until she falls into a coma.
  • Jerkass: She was such a controlling and demanding bitch that Nathan was utterly terrified of her and even admits that dating her was "the most brutal thing ever!" When she landed in a coma, Nathan proclaims her as the "ultimate girlfriend" since she won't control him now.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Calls Nathan "Tonto" near the end of the episode. Then she falls down a very long stairway as if the gods punished her for it. You almost feel sorry for her, until you realize she put Nathan through all kinds of crap.
  • Perpetual Frowner: She's always seen scowling.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: In-universe as 'Natebecca' or 'Rebasplosion' with Nathan.
  • Rich Bitch: Plenty of money, plenty of rudeness.
  • Staircase Tumble: How she ends up in a coma. And it was pretty long, too!

    James Grishnack

James Grishnack

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grishnack.jpg
Voiced by: Tommy Blacha

Slimy head of Behemoth Productions and producer of Dethklok's film, "Blood Ocean".

  • Asshole Victim: He gets set on fire and evidently hospitalized. Given that his actions in the episode included trying to force out Blood Ocean against Dethklok's wishes, and physically abusing his underling (who is evidently his daughter), it's very hard to feel bad about it.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Aside from his cruelty, he openly tells Dethklok that he bought off as many critics as possible.
  • Fat Bastard: Practically spherical in build, and a horrible person.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: His "shit sandwich" speech, though disgusting and placing him in opposition to Dethklok, does have a core of truth to it: Blood Ocean was a huge production, and everyone involved stands to suffer as a result of it, himself as much as anyone. The film's disastrous state is almost entirely Dethklok's fault, and trying to Polish the Turd is really the only option left if they want to see any return on it. The only thing that really makes this a problem for Dethklok is that they have a revenue stream independent of moviemaking; he doesn't.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: ...Unfortunately. Grishnack is based on Hollywood producer and notorious rapist (but we repeat ourselves) Harvey Weinstein. His name also comes from a stage name used by Varg Vikernes, though they don't have much in common apart from being deeply unpleasant.
  • Polish the Turd: He claims that as part of his attempt to see some kind of return on his investment in "a 500-million-dollar shit sandwich", he's already had all the reviews for it written.

Season 2

    Alfred Belmer

Alfred Belmer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alfred_18.jpg
Voiced by: Malcolm McDowell

A cannibalistic baby-murderer set to be publicly executed by Dethklok.

  • Eats Babies: He's known for eating children, especially babies and toddlers. He's about to eat a baby at the end of "Dethecution", though it thankfully ends before it gets any further.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: He murders babies to eat them. He previously provided the page image.
  • Karma Houdini: He escapes the execution after Dethklok bungles the show, allowing himself and several other death row escapees to flee in the carnage.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He killed 274 babies and toddlers, especially so he could eat them.

    Dethklok's Doubles

Dethklok's Doubles

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doubles.jpg
Voiced by: ICS Vortex (Nathan's double)

A group of body doubles for Dethklok, whom they quickly grow attached to during the episode "Dethdoubles". Unaware that they're secretly spies for the Tribunal.

  • Badass Crew: When the time comes for them to take action, they quickly eliminate a whole squad of armed Klokateers as they try to steal Dethklok's business contracts.
  • Body Double: What their whole purpose is.
  • Body Horror: While trying to steal business contracts during a concert on a volcano, the volcano erupts gruesomely burning them beyond recognition with most of them losing limbs in the process. Toki's double in particular is outright reduced to a head and torso.
  • Consummate Professional: Dethklok spends a lot of time hanging out and having fun with them but they never drop their quiet, stoic demeanor the entire time. When reporting back to General Crozier, Nathan's double seems somewhat annoyed that the "palling around" is interfering with their ability to gain any substantial information.
  • I Just Shot Marvin in the Face: After being horribly mutilated by the above and unable to act as doubles any further, the band tries to fire them gently. However, Murderface accidentally drops his sawn-off shotgun during the process resulting in a lot of blood splattering.
  • The Mole: They're spies for the Tribunal.

    Liz Bane

Liz Bane

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/liz_661.jpg
Voiced by: Laraine Newman

Head of the Exodus P.R. Firm, she becomes Pickles' new P.R. Person and has a shady history of starting dangerous cults.

  • Cold Ham: Even at her most expressive she doesn't drop her icy, calm demeanor.
  • Cult: She was a former religious radical credited with starting dozens of them in the 70s. Her new P.R. firm is just a cover for her latest and most ambitious one yet.
  • Evil Plan: The Tribunal suspects that with her new Exodus P.R. firm working with Pickles, she's planning something beyond mere public relations. Turns out she's turning Pickles into the most popular celebrity in the world in order to amass millions of followers for her latest cult. Her new "clients" then have all their possessions stolen as she has them tortured and brainwashed into subservience. As a favor for her, Pickles would convince the rest of Dethklok to perform a concert scheduled on the night in which Nile's Comet is nearest to Earth. Select followers would then drink poisoned grape juice before attending said concert. With Dethklok performing atop a special elevated platform on their newly built comet observatory, the comet would collide with the platform killing them all. The plan ended up failing because the comet ended up colliding with Dethklok's new "giant space publicity tablet", splitting into multiple pieces with one of which impacting her car as she was driving away from the observatory.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Speaks in a deeper, colder intonation than most of the other female characters on the show.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Seemed to be polite and supportive of Pickles when she was actually planning to have him and the rest of Dethklok killed. This act starts to falter when she gets impatient with Pickles right before Dethklok performs a concert for her clients.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Her last and biggest cult massacred hundreds of French citizens in a crowded Parisian cafe using ceremonial daggers. Somehow she was cleared of all charges before starting her new P.R. firm. When she tries to take advantage of Dethklok for her latest cult, she ended up getting killed by a comet fragment.
  • Killed Off for Real: Killed by a fragment of Nile's Comet when it hits her car, exploding instantly. Doesn't stop her from reappearing as a background character in the audience in "Dethsiduals" during Get Thee Hence's performance, though it could just be a reused asset.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: One of the final steps of her plan was for Dethklok to be killed by Nile's Comet. Guess how she ends up dying.
  • Lack of Empathy: Just as apathetic to the death of the game show contestant at the beginning of "P.R. Pickles" as the members of Dethklok if not more so. She also doesn't bat an eye as she poisons her most loyal followers at Dethklok's comet observatory concert before trying to escape with all their stolen belongings.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Liz Bane. Her previous aliases could also count. While Liz Blackfin isn't too bad, Liz Deatheyes is rather unsubtle.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Being a former cult leader, she may have some experience with this. She got Pickles to make more public appearances in order to make him the most popular celebrity in the world and turn her P.R. firm into the world's largest while also amassing millions of new clients. She also managed to get him to convince the rest of Dethklok to perform a specifically scheduled concert for her clients as a favor as part of her Evil Plan as detailed above.
  • Near-Villain Victory: She might have actually come the closest to successfully killing off every member of Dethklok at once. Not even Charles seemed to be aware of what she was really up to. The only reason her plan failed was because of the completely unforeseen and coincidental intervention of Dethklok's publicity tablet they'd sent orbiting around Earth. That said, it's hinted that Mr. Salacia had something to do with the tablet being there since his voice can be heard whispering and his face is imposed on the screen faintly as the comet hits said tablet so it's debatable whether or not her plan had any chance of actually succeeding.
  • Obviously Evil: Villainous Cheekbones, Evil Eyebrows and Cold Gray Eyes combined with most of her dialogue making it clear she has her own agenda. Not to mention most of her scenes have ominous music playing at some point.
  • The Stoic: Calm and composed for the entirety of her single episode appearance in "P.R. Pickles", she doesn't emote much until she gets impatient before Dethklok's concert in said episode and even then...

Yaneemango Indians

Click here to see Chief Otoe (with Nathan's grandmother)
Voiced by: ICS Vortex and Silenoz

A tribe of cannibals from the Amazon from where Nathan is descended from.

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Despite Otoe being the leader of a cannibal tribe, Nathan's grandmother lusted after him and later willingly became his wife, stating in her diary they were "powerful" together.
  • Badass Native: The Yaneemango Indians are able to fight and kill Crozier's men despite wielding primitive weapons, matching the soldiers with sheer fanaticism and savagery. Chief Otoe, Nathan's maternal grandfather, is also this by virtue of being their leader when he was alive, and Nathan got his brutality from him.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: The Yaneemango Indians are a tribe of cannibals. Nathan's grandmother discovered this when, after becoming Otoe's wife, she finds a pocket watch belonging to her original husband, Walter, in her soup.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Otoe is a very minor character, but he inadvertently saves the world from the Tribunal when he happens upon Nathan's grandmother and takes her in as his wife, leading to Nathan's birth.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Otoe is basically what his grandson Nathan would look like if he was part of the tribe (minus the light skin and long hair). To a lesser extent, this also applies to his daughter and Nathan's mother, Rose Explosion, who has his face and nose.

    Kip Slaughter

Kip Slaughter

Voiced by: ???

Governor of Florida, Nathan's home state. He gets slaughtered by Dethklok fans after insulting Nathan, prompting Nathan to succeed him as governor.

  • Decapitation Presentation: His head is chopped off by an angry mob on live TV, and he has the word "dildo" written on his forehead.
  • Meaningful Name: His last name is slaughter and well, that's his fate when he insults Dethklok right in front of their fanbase.
  • Off with His Head!: How he dies.
  • Patricide: Even his own daughter participated in his killing.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He carelessly insulted Nathan Explosion, not knowing how rabid the Dethklok fanbase is. It's no surprise that the Dethklok fandom murders him on TV.

Voiced by: Marty Friedman

Head of Gojira's Driving School, of which Skwisgaar and Toki are forced to attend after getting in trouble with the law via a high-speed chase.

  • Asian Rudeness: He's an Asian driving instructor and he has a very caustic way of teaching. To the point that when overseeing Toki driving, Skwisgaar (who was at the backseat) tells him to leave Toki alone.

    Melmord Fjordslorn

Melmord Fjordslorn

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melmord_8.jpg
Voiced by: Brian Posehn

A sleazy second manager hired by Dethklok to be their pal.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Male example; he acted nice and lenient to Dethklok so he can gain power and influence over them, and steal their vast fortune for himself. Offdensen put an end to it permanently.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Subverted. He was hired by Dethklok because they think Offdensen was financially ripping them off, but he was planning to to gain power of attorney over the band so he can steal their fortune for himself. He never gets that far because Offdensen kills him in a fencing duel.
  • Disney Villain Death: Falls off the roof of Mordhaus at the end of his duel with Offdensen though if you look closely he gets run through when he rushes Offdensen right before falling. If that didn't kill him, the train certainly did.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He intentionally portrayed himself as a laid-back, fun-loving manager so Dethklok can trust him enough to handle their massive wealth, which he intended to have for himself. Offdensen caught on and killed him in a sword fight.
  • Killed Off for Real: He is killed when Offdensen defeats him and forces him off a high ledge, and he falls onto a railway where he is run over by a train.
  • Manipulative Bastard: His relaxed personality is a front to get to Dethklok's vast finances.
  • Sucksessor: Until... Offdensen kills him in a sword fight.
  • Sword Fight: Engages Offdensen with one with both wielding rapiers decorating some trophy hallway in Mordhaus. They're both pretty evenly matched before he rushes forward getting impaled on Offdensen's rapier in the process.

Voiced by: Mike Patton

A rehab center spokesperson who weasels his way into being Snakes N' Barrels' new lead singer.

  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: Every time he wants to do drugs or alcohol, he's harshly reminded that he can't due to current health and legal problems.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Of Nikki Sixx from Mötley Crüe. He also looks a lot like Mick Jagger.
  • Evil Plan: He used to be really into alcohol and drugs until he was forced to stop because of his liver problems. He grew so embittered by this that he sought to deprive everyone of the pleasures he once enjoyed.
  • Freudian Excuse: He used to heavily abuse drugs and alcohol until his health deteriorated too far for him to indulge anymore and it got him in trouble with the law, so he wants to deprive the world of the things he used to enjoy, just to watch them suffer as much as he did.
  • Straight Edge Evil: His entire sober agenda is driven by the rage of being forced to be sober himself.
  • Sucksessor: For Pickles in Snakes N' Barrels.
  • Taking You with Me: Downplayed. He was deprived of alcohol and drugs due to health and legal problems, so he thought it was a good idea to make everyone suffer as well.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: He secretly wants the world to be deprived of drugs because his health has deteriorated too far for him to indulge and because it got him in trouble with the law. He has twisted this around into creating an abstinence group and has gained tons of adoration for it.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: He brutally chokes his assistant to death after he reveals his Evil Plan to him, just to be sure he won't tell anyone.

Season 3

    Damien Cornickelson

Damien Cornickelson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/damienc.jpg
Voiced by: Steve Vai

Jerkass son of Roy who takes over Crystal Mountain Records when his father falls ill.

  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: A far cry from his benevolent father, Roy.
  • Drunk with Power: Once he controls Dethklok by being their label, oh boy...
  • Evil Is Petty: Part of Damien's vendetta towards Dethklok is that Nathan punched him. To be fair, though, he shouldn't have provoked Nathan in the first place.
  • Inadequate Inheritor: He's really nothing like his father and he knows it. He just doesn't care since he just wants the company for himself.
  • Jerkass: Insults Nathan the first time they meet, and years later, withheld the money Dethklok made off their records in "Renovationklok".
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Damien is a smug Jerkass who quickly earned Nathan's wrath twice.
    • In his younger days, Damien makes fun of Nathan and condescendingly asks him what kind of music his band plays. Nathan's response is to punch him in the face.
    • Damien's attempt to get back at Nathan for the above slight involved encroaching on Dethklok financially until Nathan gets desperate enough to sign a contract under him, which would legally make him free to do whatever he wanted to the frontman. However, Charles' revival from the dead and timely return ruins Damien's plans, and Nathan punches Damien in retaliation for everything he and his band went through.
  • Smug Snake: As he slowly tries to encroach on Dethklok financially, he indulges in filling his office with increasingly lavish furniture. His smugness quickly turns to rage when Charles makes his return before he gets knocked out by another punch from Nathan.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Is not seen or mentioned again after his debut episode, even in episodes where his father/Crystal Mountain Records play a significant part.

    Really Cool Cat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cat_11.jpg

A cat Toki saves (and later adopts) from one of Dethklok's concerts.

  • Black Comedy Pet Death: He dies at the end of the episode from drinking alcohol Toki gave him during Dethklok's bender, but only Toki is affected while the rest of Dethklok are completely indifferent. It is shortly followed by a very trippy musical number, and the massive sarcophagus he was laid to rest in falls over and crushes the Sphinx statue in Egypt.
  • Kill the Cutie: He's an adorable little cat, but since this is Metalocalypse, and he's close to Toki, of course he dies at the end of the episode.

    The Dentist

The Dentist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dentist.jpg
Voiced by: Brendon Small

A suicidal dentist whom Nathan sees as part of Dethklok’s medical checkup.

  • Ate His Gun: At the end of "Dethhealth", he blows his brains out with a shotgun in front of Nathan.
  • Depraved Dentist: Played with. Nathan initially fears that his dentist will try to kill him, but he gets over it, and instead manages to befriend him, realizing that he actually does need a friend. He still kills himself after the credits roll when out hunting with Nathan later, after commenting on how he appreciates their friendship.
  • Driven to Suicide: He blows his brains out with a shotgun in front of Nathan, leaving the poor guy splattered with his blood and looking understandably horrified.
  • Goodbye, Cruel World!: Implied when he orders his nurse to cancel his appointments and take a very long note.
  • No Name Given: He's only called "The Dentist" to emphasize that he's only a minor characer.

    Týr

Týr

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyr_2.jpg
Voiced by: Brendon Small

A kind-hearted lumberjack who marries Serveta and becomes Skwisgaar's stepfather.

  • Abusive Parents: Averted. Týr is actually a pretty nice guy. Too bad he married a massive slut.
  • Good Parents: Stepfather in his case, as Skwisgaar's biological father is completely out of his life. While he and Skwisgaar got off on the wrong foot, Týr eventually wins him over with his kind and considerate personality, treating the guitarist like his own son. Unfortunately, Týr walks in on Serveta having a threesome with two other men and flees in horror, convincing Skwisgaar that he's the son of a god and his only place in the world is with Dethklok.
  • Nice Guy: He's more than happy to take Skwisgaar under his wing and treat him like his own son. But of course, Serveta just had to cheat on him.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: During his time as Serveta's husband, Týr is openly affectionate with her and much of his early family outings with Skwisgaar involved him making out with Serveta. This aggravated Skwisgaar's preexisting daddy issues until he snaps during an argument and pushes Týr into a glass coffee table. Unfortunately, this doesn't last as Serveta cheats on him by having a threesome with two other men; Týr walks in on her and flees, unable to handle his wife's infidelity and true character.

Voiced by: Brann Dailor (Shirtless member), Brent Hinds (Tank top member), Troy Sanders (DJ member), and Ace Frehley (Member with Number 7 shirt)

A Nu Metal band recruited by Murderface and Toki after getting kicked out of Dethklok to form their own record label.

  • Addled Addict: Their drug of choice is heroin, which leaves them in a near-permanent torpor while in Murderface's care. Murderface is shocked at them for not bothering to get famous before forming a crippling drug habit.
  • All Take and No Give: This defines their relationship with Murderface: they demand a massive million-dollar advance (which they blow through rather quickly) and treat him like a live-in maid, but spend the entire month so strung out on heroin that he has to basically record their entire album without their help. After all that, they still demand all songwriting residuals, due to the contract being filled out by Toki in Norwegian.
  • Asshole Victim: They get brutally murdered by a crowd of Dethklok fans simply for having the temerity to open for them. Of course, they deserved every minute of it.
  • Disco Dan: As Nathan grumpily points out, their general schtick and style was at least six years out of date by the time their starring episode was made.
  • Jerkass: They spend basically the entire episode being as nasty as possible to Murderface.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Though mostly parodying Nu Metal as a whole, they seem closest to Papa Roach, with their main song sounding an awful lot like "Last Resort."
  • Small Name, Big Ego: In general, they seem to believe they're huge stars that deserve to hobnob with Dethklok, despite them being an unsigned band operating in a dying (at the time) genre. They have all the dickishness and egotism of Dethklok, without the talent to back it up.
  • Unexplained Recovery: They make a brief cameo in "Writersklok", despite their initial appearance having ended in them getting at the very least mutilated.

Click here to see her as an adult
Voiced by: Laraine Newman

Dr. Rockzo's underage lover from the 1980s, and the catalyst for Zazz Blammymatazz's breakup.

  • '80s Hair: Sported a feathered bob back in the day and still has it in the present, though it's brown instead of dirty blonde.
  • Age-Gap Romance: An illegal variation with Rockzo; she was 14 at the time while he was either in his 20s or 30s.
  • Amicable Exes: One-sided on her part.
  • Erotic Eating: When she was fourteen, she was always seen sucking on a lollipop suggestively.
  • Fan Disservice: Everything about her. From her age to her braces, she is meant to be a gross caricature of the "baby" groupies that were common back in the 70s-80s rock era.
  • Fille Fatale: A very promiscuous fourteen-year-old, who seduces Rockzo, which ended up being his major downfall.
  • Formerly Fit: Her current appearance is an overweight middle-aged woman. Rockzo loses attraction to her on the spot.
  • Ironic Name: She was a sexually active teenage girl who has Clean as part of her name, clearing making a reference to female virginity, especially among young girls. The correlation is even more obvious with her daughter Chastity.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: Rockzo certainly thought so.
  • The Muse: To Rockzo, inspiring him to write "Dory McClean (She's Only Fourteen)"
  • Pink Is Erotic / Pink Means Feminine: Pink shirt, pink sneakers, pink nails, pink blush and lipstick.
  • Pubescent Braces: To a squicky effect.
  • Short Teens, Tall Adults: At 14 years old, Dory barely reached up to Rockzo's (an adult) shoulders.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Similar to the Offdensen example, her last name has been spelled with either two Cs (McClean) or one (Mclean).
  • Suddenly Voiced: At the very end of "Dethzazz" when she reappears as an adult.
  • The Voiceless: Only in the flashbacks.
  • You Are Fat:
Dory: I'm married to a lawyer.
    Rockzo: You're fat.

A crazed superfan whom Nathan dates, much to the objections of his bandmates.

  • Anguished Declaration of Love: Her last words involve this.
  • Loony Fan: She loves Nathan Explosion so much that she murders any man who even looks like him.
  • Loving a Shadow: At Klokikon, she has an orgy where several Nathan Explosion cosplayers line up to get oral sex by her.
  • If I Can't Have You…: Tries to commit murder-suicide with Nathan when he tries to break up with her.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Nathan and Trindle spend most of their time making out with each other.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Is attracted only to Nathan Explosion and men that look like him, even willing to cheat on the real Nathan with lookalikes if it means getting more of him.
  • Yandere

Voiced by: Jon Hamm

A dictator from a Middle Eastern country where Abigail sends Dethklok on "vacation" to help cure their writer’s block.

  • Asshole Victim: No tears are shed when his harem overthrows him and kills him.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Not only does he not recognize Dethklok but thought that they were all women despite having masculine voices and facial hair. Not that this stops him from making them suck his dick if they displeased him.
  • Gag Penis: He has a cartoonishly massive package.

    Ludwig

Ludwig

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ludwig_2.jpg
Voiced by: Kim Thayil

A bully from Rock-a-Rooni Fantasy Camp who targets Toki.

  • The Bully: He constantly picks on Toki, including forcefeeding him cake, knowing damn well he's diabetic. Not to mention smashing Toki's Mordhaus snow globe to really hurt him. Unfortunately he picked a very wrong time to smash it.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: After Nathan catches up to him and asks him about "which hand does he fret with", we hear only the sounds of his blood-curdling screams and Nathan using the broken snowglobe as an Improvised Weapon. We later see the aftermath in Nathan's room, where his severed hand is kept inside a jar.
  • Oh, Crap!: Once the rest of the band arrive to see him bullying Toki, he visibly gulps as Nathan stares at the smashed snowglobe.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: At least seems to be an adult yet acts like a highschool bully.
