Shuriken School is a Spanish/French cartoon, produced by Xilam (being one of its famous cartoons besides Space Goofs and Oggy and the Cockroaches) and Zinkia Entertainment (responsible for Pocoyo), and aired in the US in 2006 on Nickelodeon. It's about kids who attend a school to learn how to be ninjas. The show primarily follows the antics of Eizan Kaburagi, Jimmy B. and Okuni Dohan. If you hardly heard of it, that's no surprise. Nick pulled the show six episodes in. It was broadcast by Jetix in Europe and on YTV in Canada. Near the end of its run, the show received a movie titled Shuriken School: The Ninja's Secret or The Ninja's Secret: A Shuriken School Adventure which aired on Disney Channel Asia on December 21, 2007 and was released on DVD in the US on April 15, 2014.

This show provides examples of:

  • Power Trio: The main trifecta that Eizan forms with Okuni and Jimmy.
  • Rival Dojos: Katana school vs Shuriken school.
  • Sailor Fuku: Ami always wears one, though no one else ever does.
  • Shout-Out: Plenty.
    • The show's entire premise. We have a trio of best friends attending a ninja school and getting up to daily misadventures. Said school is headed by an elderly principal and consists of a crew of quirky teachers, their school uniform is of a primary color which contrasts with the secondary color of their rivals, and they even have a Funny Animal among the cast. Now where have we heard that before...?
    • The head of Katana school looks like Heihachi from the Tekken series.
    • Ami has the hairstyle and personality of Minako Aino, while she shares the first name of Ami Mizuno in Sailor Moon.
    • In "Pop Star for a Day", Eizan and Okuni — after their makeover — resemble Naruto and Sarada respectively.note
  • Two Girls to a Team: Ami and Okuni are the only two female students at Shuriken, and conveniently conform to the Tomboy and Girly Girl dichotomy.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Okuni is not too pleased with Eizan and Jimmy's "help" when she is being attacked by a dragon in "The Master of Darkness". Everytime they throw something at the dragon, it almost hits her. She even yells "Stop helping me!"
