A agent of Grand Cleric Victoire, one of the chief opponents of the Inquisition.
Orlais
Duke Cyril de Montfort
The son of Duke Prosper de Montfort. After his father's death, he inherits his title and position on the Council of Heralds.
- Ascended Extra: After playing a minor role in both Dragon Age II and Inquisition, Cyril becomes more important in the Trespasser DLC as Orlais' representative to the Exalted Council.
- Fantastic Racism: Tallis fails at seducing him in Mark of the Assassin due to his disinterest in Elves.

Fereldan Nobility
Bann Ceorlic
- Voiced by: Simon Templeman
Bann of the Southern Bannorn.
- Fantastic Racism: Refers to Arl Leonas Bryland as a "half-blood" due to his Orlesian ancestry.
- Overlord Jr.: His father, also named Ceorlic, was one of the Banns who betrayed Moira Theirin to King Meghren and was later executed by King Maric. Ceorlic clearly followed his father's steps in being a slimy asshole.
- Undying Loyalty: To Loghain. He is the only member of the Landsmeet who will always vote for Loghain no matter what the Warden does. While he claims it is because he believes Loghain's account of the Battle of Ostagar, rumor is that he supports him because his lands border Loghian and Ceorlic fears his wrath.
Oswyn
- Voiced by: Ezra Godden
Son of Bann Sighard. He learned the truth of the events at Ostagar from a friend in Loghain's army, but was subsequently captured by Rendon Howe's men.
Bann Perrin
- Voiced by:
Habren Bryland
- Voiced by: Alix Wilton Regan
Daughter of Arl Leonas Bryland, she can be found in the Denerim market doing her best to annoy everyone.
Demons
Sloth
A particularly powerful Sloth demon named Sloth who is unleashed upon Kinloch Hold when Uldred makes his bid for power.
- Affably Evil: A trait many Sloth demons share, although there is a large element of manipulation tied to this.
- Creepy Monotone: He speaks in a slow, ponderous tone which is typical of Sloth demons.
- Manipulative Bastard:Sloth: I made you happy and safe. I gave you peace. I did my best for you. And you say you want to leave? Can't you think about someone other than yourself? I'm hurt. So very, very hurt.
Gaxkang the Unbound
One of the Forbidden Ones, Gaxkang has possessed a mage and is hiding in Denerim. The Warden hunts him down and destroys him after finding records of his wrath scattered around Fereldan.
- Apocalyptic Log: The Warden is led to Gaxkang by finding notes left by his previous victims or meeting others who had tried hunting him and were left less than sane.
- Humanoid Abomination: His initial form appears to be a mage he has possessed.
- One-Winged Angel: When confronted by the Warden, Gaxkang transforms from a normal looking man to switching between being a Revenant or a Arcane Horror.
- Superboss: He is only fought if the player completes the "Unbound" questline. Notably he is considered one of the toughest fights in the game, as his fight takes place in a tiny, cramped house where your party has no room to maneuver, and he can effortlessly wipe out your whole party with his deadly area spells.
Kitty
- Voiced by:
A Desire demon that has taken the form of a cat. Imprisoned in a mages laboratory underneath the village of Honleath, Kitty seeks a way to break free of her prison.
- Creepy Monotone: If the Warden lets her possess Amalia, she begins to speak this way even though she spoke normally before.
Chantry
Grand Cleric Elemena
- Voiced by: Carolyn Seymour
The Grand Cleric of Fereldan.
- Minor Major Character: Although she is the most powerful member of the Chantry in Fereldan and wields a great deal of influence, she only appears in the game twice in a minor capacity.
Mother Boann
- Voiced by: Erica Luttrell
Sister Theohild
A elderly Sister of the Denerim Chantry who recites some interesting verses from the Chant of Light.
- Malaproper: Constantly does this to the Chant, much to Mother Perpetua's consternation.Sister Theohild: The Veal holds no uncertainty for her, and she will know no fear of death, for the Maker shall be her bacon and her shield, her foundation and her-
Mother Perpetua: There is no veal in the Chant! You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

Ser Otto
A nearly blind Templar who is investigating demonic activity around the Denerim Alienage orphanage.
- Character Death: Unfortunately, he dies no matter what during "Something Wicked": either the Warden fails to protect him or the demons kill him at the end when he attempts to drive them out.
- Eye Scream: He was almost completely blinded by a Maleficar who blasted him and several other Templars with fire. Ser Otto considers himself lucky, since some of the other Templars died, while he was left with some scars that healed and damaged eyesight.
- Handicapped Badass: Despite being nearly blind, he is still capable of fighting alongside the Warden and their party in the orphanage.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: If he makes it to the end of the orphanage, the demon responsible for the hauntings responds to Ser Otto's attempt to drive him out by sending a pitchfork into his back.
- Nice Guy: Despite his past experiences with a Maleficar, Ser Otto is one of the friendliest Templars encountered in the franchise. He laments his inability to gain the trust of the City Elves, and comments that he wishes there was more he could do to help the general situation in the Alienage outside of ending the demonic activity.

Murdock
Revered Mother Hannah
Owen
Kaitlyn
- Rags to Riches: If you retrieve her grandfather's sword from her younger brother and pay her a large amount of silver for it, she will move to Denerim and use the money to open a foundry, which makes her wealthy and respected. In fact, this might even be a form of Rags to Royalty, as the epilogue reveals that she meets Bann Teagan by chance at court and marries him a few months afterwards.
Bella
- Rags to Riches: She can either be given a large amount of silver, with which she will open a brewery in Denerim, or you can make her the owner of the tavern.

- Lady-In-Waiting: For Queen Anora.
- Undying Loyalty: To Anora.

Devera
A elf rogue from Tevinter who serves Magister Caladrius.
- The Dragon: To Magister Caladrius.

Vigil's Keep
Captain Garevel
Captain of the Guard of Vigil's Keep and advisor to the Warden-Commander.
- The Captain: Of the Vigil's Keep guards.
- Rank Up: A codex entry in The Golems of Amgarrek reveals that he becomes Seneschal of Vigil's Keep after the events of Awakening.
Voldrik Glavonak
Dworkin Glavonak
- Mad Bomber: He is introduced luring a bunch of Darkspawn to one of his hidden explosives and laughing in glee as they go down in flames. During the "Bombs Away!" side quest you can provide him the raw materials he'll need to create new bombs. His brother certainly thinks he's nuts and mentions that Dworkin has lost at least three or four apprentices due to the risks of Voldrik experimenting with explosive materials. If you ignore him and tell Dworkin to go nuts with the material, the bombs he makes will have the same effect as the Mage Inferno spell.
Amaranthine
Constable Aidan
The head of the Amaranthine city guard.
Templars
Rylock
A zealous Templar who believes that Anders is guilty of murdering his Templar guards when the Darkspawn attacked Vigil's Keep.
- Arch-Enemy: To Anders.
- Jerkass Has a Point: While she may be an utter asshole, Rylock is correct in pointing out that Anders is a potentially dangerous apostate whose Templar escort died under unknown circumstances. Given what Anders goes on to do during the events of Dragon Age II, her assessment of Anders seems to have been correct.
- Knight Templar: Pun aside, she is absolutely convinced Anders is a dangerous apostate who must either be brought back to the Circle to face justice or simply outright killed.
- Too Dumb to Live: She is determined to bring Anders in to face justice for the deaths of the Templars who were guarding him during the darkspawn attack on the Vigil. While she claims that Chantry law supersedes the Crown in matters regarding mages, she's conveniently forgotten that part where the Crown merely accepted that they cannot deny a Grey Warden who has invoked the Right of Conscription - and, as seen with Alistair's conscription in the first game, neither can the Chantry. The Chantry certainly does not allow her to foolishly attempt to murder the Warden for refusing to hand Anders over, either. Particularly egregious since if they're imported from Origins, the Warden may actually be the chancellor, the king's mistress, or the sovereign's wedded consort, not to mention beloved by the people as the Hero of Ferelden. What did she expect to happen if she won?

Fereldan Nobility
Bann Esmerelle
Bann of the city of Amaranthine. She was a supporter of Arl Rendon Howe, but was too powerful to be displaced after the Fereldan Civil War.
- The Conspiracy: She is the leader of a group of nobles in Amaranthine who despise the Warden-Commander for various reasons and plot to remove them from power.
- Driven to Suicide: If the Dark Wolf is hired to take care of the noble conspiracy against the Grey Wardens, Esmerelle is mentioned in the epilogue to have hanged herself.
- The Rival: To Lord Eddelbrek, who controls most of Amarathine's farmland.
Lady Liza Packton
Lord Eddelbrek
Lord Guy
A noble of Amaranthine who despises Orlesians.
- Fantastic Racism: He hates Orlesians due to his father dying during the rebellion that drove them from Fereldan. This is why he joins the noble conspiracy against the Orlesian Warden-Commander.
