Archie and Betty reconnect. Archie throws Betty a surprise graduation party, as she has officially become an FBI agent. Archie finally manages to get Riverdale re-incorporated by offering the township a new beginning with a dedicated town council, consisting of Toni, Tabitha, Alice, and Frank Andrews. Reggie risks everything by providing blackmail on Hiram, which sees the town successfully, finally banish its tormentor.
Tropes
- Bittersweet Ending: Hiram leaves Riverdale for good and the town gets reincorporated. But Cheryl puts a curse on Archie, Betty, and Jughead, and Hiram put a bomb under Archie’s bed.
- Didn't Think This Through:
- Veronica was so focused on paying back Chad by ruining his company that she failed to consider what that would do to her own reputation in Wall Street.
- If you believe magic is real, the Blossoms cursing the Coopers to only know tragedy would affect them as well.
- Official Couple: After 5 seasons of Will They or Won't They?, Archie and Betty finally become a couple.
- Plot Hole: Betty's ancestor is named Beatrice Cooper, a continuity error as the Cooper line did not emerge from the Blossom line until the 1910s/1920s, and Betty’s ancestor helped burn Abigail at the stake in 1890.
- Put on a Bus: Hiram is point blank told to get out of town or the gang releases the video of him murdering his father's killer.
- The Reveal:
- Cheryl is horrified that the mines are packed with the skeletons of an entire generation of Riverdale workers. It turns out Cheryl's ancestor, Abigail, was literally burned at the stake by the Jones, Andrews, and Cooper leaders, who in turn were cursed Abigail that they and their descendants would always endure tragedy.
