Archie and Veronica fight to take Hiram down while Betty discovers the Farm's secret.

Tropes

• Brainwashed and Crazy:
  • A session with Edgar involving clicking metal balls has Betty imagining a "dark persona." Suspicious, Betty uses wax to plug up her ears and drown out the balls to realize Edgar is hypnotizing her and the others.
  • The revelation of what the Farm is causes Cheryl to finally snap out of her brainwashing and race to save Toni. However, Kevin and Fangs are still utterly loyal to stop Betty.
• Complexity Addiction: Edgar's entire plan. After using his wife to pose as his daughter to recruit high schoolers, Edgar hypnotizes people into imagining some "inner pain" via a lost love or a "dark side." He then convinces them the only way to get rid of said "pain" is a treatment which is really an operation to steal the organs. Somehow, he thinks this is better than just kidnapping them.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: Once she realizes that Hiram tricked her and she never owned the club or the diner, Veronica decides to report all the illegal goings-on at both places to the feds. Since the establishments are both owned by Hiram, he's the one who takes the fall for all the crimes committed in them.
• Kansas City Shuffle: Archie challenges Hiram to a boxing match for ownership of the club. Hiram is about to beat Archie when the cops raid the place and Archie reveals he was just the distraction so Veronica could turn her dad in to the feds.
• Oh, Crap!: Cheryl's face when Betty shows her a human heart in a box to realize what the Farm is...and then realizing Toni is about to undergo a "procedure."
• The Reveal:
  • The Farm is an organ farm that's tricking its members into giving up "their pain" so Edgar can make a fortune selling the organs. Also, the various beliefs of the group (Cheryl seeing Jason and Alice her son) are because Edgar is hypnotizing them into imagining things.
  • Alice breaks it to Betty that she has the infamous "serial killer gene."
• Wham Shot: Jughead digs up Jason's grave to find it's empty.
• Would Harm a Child: The Black Hood returns, not only to try to kill Jughead and Ethel, but also kill one of the preteen Lost boys.
