Go To

Tzx Tzx is the name of a daydream universe (also known as paracosm) for a person who has Maldaptive Daydreaming Disorder [1] and who has a special interest in Pokemon. This is a work in progress and mostly just done for fun.

It takes place in a Pokemon Alternate Universe where Glitch Pokemon, beta Pokemon, [[Fanon Pokegods]], and similar exist within the world. The name comes from the Tumblr blog url used for the paracosm, which in turn is named after a glitch trainer which can occur with glitch Unown in Pokemon Gold and Silver [2].

Tzx Tzx doesn't have a linear story or a main character. Instead, there are several sub-stories which are grouped together loosely by year, and it's treated more like a Wide-Open Sandbox.

This paracosm provides examples of:

  • Alliterative Family: Cy, Carob, and Cider are cousins.
  • Body Horror: When it comes to humans or Pokemon that fuse with glitch Pokemon, it can frequently fall under such.
  • Cast Herd: Characters are usually grouped by the region they're usually in to make things easier to manage.
  • Civilized Animal: There are quite a few Pokemon that fit this and several that co-exist with humanity or go into Talking Animal with speaking human-tounge. There's also a few examples of Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal.
  • Colourful Theme Naming: As a nod to the original Pokemon protagonist naming convention, almost all characters are named after colors. Some are also shortenings of colors, such as Cy being a shortening of of Cyan.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Many glitch Pokemon can fall under this - most cause hallucinations of some kind, some are several feet tall, some can cause neurological damage.
  • Expy: It should be no surprise when the Maladaptive Daydreamer has ADHD and goes through hyperfixations. There are a few flavors of this:
    • If it's a pre-existing Pokemon character they may just be slightly tweaked to fit in with the Alternate Universe. Or extremely tweaked to make things interesting.
    • Just the character but placed into the the universe and given a different backstory to accommodate such.
    • The character is from a show that exists in the universe but they are fictionkin [3].
  • Fanon: The entire concept is inspired by Pokemon Fanon with some elements such as Pokegods or [[Headcanon Headcanons]] being exclusively from fanon.
  • Glitch Entity: A major part is the existence of glitch Pokemon - and the existence of humans who can become fused with them.
  • Morality Kitchen Sink: No one character is fully good or fully bad, granted there's a lot more White-and-Grey Morality.
  • Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: The glitched humans.
  • Power Trio: Whey, Cy, and Amaranth; Vitex, Ruby, Argent; Madder, Or, Claret.
  • Rotating Protagonist: Anyone can be a main character at any point depending on the story, even previously minor characters.
  • Rule of Cool: Solidly fits this being a paracosm of a person with Ma DD - same goes for Rule of Fun.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Being able to talk to and understand Pokemon is more normal in this universe. There are also examples of Talking Animal where some Pokemon can learn how to speak human-tongue.
  • Time Travel: Between Hisui and the modern day with some characters.
  • Viral Transformation: Humans or Pokemon becoming glitched can qualify as such as it typically causes very intense changes to the body. Can fit in with Artificial Hybrid and Power-Upgrading Deformation as well.

  • Facial Markings: Has tattoo stripes on his face mimicking a Growlithe.

  • Mind over Manners: Has a very strong ethical code - and being a system try to make sure everyone follows it.
  • Pro-Human Transhuman: None of Or's system is human nor are they physically fully human, but they still connect with humanity to some extent and feel more along the lines of being human-hearted.
  • Psychic Powers: Being a psychic type themselves, they have some psychic abilities. Namely Telepathy, Mind over Matter, and Dream Weaver.
  • Psychic Surgery: Self-done to try to revert the neurological damage of fusing with a psychic Pokemon, was done Journey to the Center of the Mind style with trying to recover what pieces of their system they could.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Whey has a more goofy and childish personality, but is powerful as a Glitch Entity and has the same powers as the Glitch Unown it fused with. Which includes Reality Warper.
  • Body Horror: Whey is one of the better examples of it in this paracosm - as it has multiple mismatched eyes on its face and
  • Cloudcuckoolander: As an effect of being fused with a glitch Unown, Whey has an odd manner of speaking and typically brings up things that don't make sense. Can sometimes overlap with The Cuckoolander Was Right but Whey is usually treated with respect by people who know it.
  • Identity Amnesia: Whey has no memories before the age of (presumably) 11 and no one is entirely sure where it came from.
  • Pals with Jesus: Frequently interacts with Arceus.
  • Psychic Powers: Is a psychic type, so has psychic powers. Most commonly Mind over Matter.
  • Squishy Wizard: Despite its strong psychic powers, is not very physically strong.
