Penélope Cruz Sánchez (born April 28, 1974 in Alcobendas, Spain) is a Spanish actress.
She's best known for such movies as Blow, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Bandidas, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and almost every film Pedro Almodóvar has made since 1997. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Volver and Nine (Musical), won for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
She has a nearly identical younger sister who's also an actress (and fashion model), Mónica Cruz. Penelope has been married to actor Javier Bardem since 2010, with whom she has a son and a daughter.
