• Here's the interesting atrocity that puts him in Moral Event Horizon: he killed Lelouch's mother Marianne purely out of petty jealousy and hid it from his father Charles. It finally gets his own twin brother, who was NOT an angel himself, to finally kill him after he has lost the battle with Lelouch. If you're making Emperor Charles look good, you're definately really bad.

• Breather Boss: Most bosses except the final one, Vergil, are this. Certain regular enemies pose a bigger challenge than the bosses.
• Cutscene Incompetence: When fighting Lilith and her child, Dante can do little damage by shooting or impaling her. In a following cutscene Vergil kills her in two shots using a common weapon.
• Game-Breaker: Using Devil Trigger and Demon Evade, Sucubbus can be defeated in 3 hits. Using Demon Evade, Devil Trigger and Overdrive results in the most anticlimatic boss fights. Even Mundus can be defeated in 11 hits.
• Moral Dissonance: Was killing Mundus' child and woman right in the end? Dante is never angry at Vergil for his actions and even uses it to goad Mundus.
  • Phineas is supposed to be a good natured demon, but he is the one who suggests killing Mundus' child.
• Moral Event Horizon: Half of the stuff Vergil does: Not caring about Kat's safety, shooting Lilith and her child when she was completely defenseless, his plans after Mundus' death and his "revenge" in the DLC chapter.
• Dante also gets really close to the line when he mocks Mundus for his child's death. He does it to keep him away from the Hell's Gate, but some players just sympathize with Mundus.
• Narm: Some of the game's jokes are hard to laugh at, such as Kat talking about squirrel's semen
  • While Sparda's fate is supposed to horrify players, nobody can get over the fact that he was nearly naked in his only shot and that he came across as a sadomasochist.
  • Thanks to the Memetic Mutation, Dante and Succubus' trashtalk approaches Narm Charm territory.
  • The voice acting becomes laughable due the lack of emphasis when characters insult each other. Dante's voice acting is often hard to understand, which resulted in comparisons with a participant from Gordon Ramsay's show.
  • When Mundus unleashes his rage against Dante, he simply pushes him with his hands. It almost looks like he is trying to hug him.
  • In the DLC, Vergil's screams of pain during gameplay can be hilarious.

• Alexia from Ranma ½ / Sailor Moon Crossover fic The Return uses Mind Rape as a recruitment tool, turning unwilling humans into her compliant, loving daughter Succubi, and then gleefully abuses, discards, and uses them as Cannon Fodder; after all, it doesn't matter if they die - she can always make more. Of the villains so far, she might not have been the biggest, but certainly the scariest due to her ability and willingness to strike at our heroes' sense of identity and security. She also caused the most pain and suffering and was considered appalling even by the standards of other demons.
• The Puella Magi Madoka Magica fic Magica Madoka Veneficus Puella has TorBey. This time, as KyuBey's lackey, he forgoes all that which KyuBey at least attempted, from the fact that he doesn't bother to grant any wishes, to the fact that his purpose is to destroy the human population of Earth, he is more than qualified for a spot on this fine list of horrible villains.
• Yet another My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfic example — Nightmare, the Big Bad of Night of the Shy. Being an Eldritch Abomination, she should be Above Good and Evil. However, the sheer amount of enjoyment she gets out of her actions (which are usually Kick the Dog at best and which tend to be done purely For the Evulz) puts her straight into this territory. Within the first five chapters of the story: not only did she possess Princess Luna (turning her into Nightmare Moon) and create Discord (making her responsible for everything he did as well), she's also implied to be behind several of the monster attacks on Ponyville in canon and is the reason Celestia and Luna are the last two alicorns. And all that's before the story even starts; in the story itself, she kidnaps the Mane Cast's pets as bait for Fluttershy, who she then takes as her new host body (trapping the poor filly in her own mind), before brainwashing and transforming the aforementioned pets into monsters as part of her army. When she realizes that Zecora followed Fluttershy and witnessed the possession, she has her minions hunt her down to stop her from telling anyone — and after she's captured Zecora, she tortures her before releasing her to hunted again for fun. She then launches an attack on Ponyville that claims the lives of Princess Celestia, Ditzy Doo, Rainbow Dash, and Princess Luna, with her personally killing the latter two. And after the rest of the Mane Cast have been forced to flee, Nightmare proceeds to eat most of Ponyville, before locking the survivors in a cage made from the bones of her victims and leaving them to die as she sets the town on fire...except Sweetie Bell, who Nightmare takes prisoner to use as a hostage/bargaining chip against Rarity and the others.

On My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, in the final sentence of the main text, "However, there is a game based on the series, My Little Pony." should read "However, there is a game based on the series: My Little Pony." (that is, exactly the same, but with the last comma changed to a colon.) Said the way it currently is, it could mean that "My Little Pony" should be read as the name of the series on which the game is based rather than the name of the game itself. A minor point, but locked articles should have clear grammar too.
