The cast of Season 2note
Disventure Camp, originally called Adventure Camp, is a web animated TV show based off Total Drama. It is created by Odd Nation Cartoons, and so far there have been two seasons (both of which have fully aired). In each season, 14 contestants battle it out for a chance to win the grand prize. Secrets, alliances, romances, and shock shall be spread throughout the characters in the episodes.

The first season is hosted by Derek and Trevor, a duo act who don't seem to get along incredibly well. They're joined by the Bus of Losers driver Jensen, a burly and grumpy Scottish man. But all may not be as it appears down in Camp Tipiskaw...

In the second season, hosting duties are taken over by Kristal, the daughter of a certain television personality who has something she wants to prove to him and herself. Driving the Bus of Losers this time is Marcus, who has a wooden puppet called Nina that he always carries with him.

The third season was officially announced on November 21st, 2023, as Disventure Camp All Stars. 18 competitors from the first two seasons will return in a 21-episode competition. Kristal continues to host, with Oliver, Marcus, and Nina still around to help, as well as some new faces joining her crew. It was later announced to debut on January 18th, 2024.

"What tropes will be featured next? Find out now on, Disventure Camp!":

    open/close all folders
    In General
  • Animation Bump: While the animation was never bad per se, the first episode of Season 2 features notably choppier animation with some stiff movement. Episode 2 onward would make the animation look more natural, though still slower than usual Total Drama fair. By the time Season 1 gets remastered, the animation is more fluid and complex, looking almost similar to Total Drama's trademark style. The same goes for All Stars, in which the animation and character designs looks almost exactly like that of Total Drama with more fluidity.
  • Back for the Finale: Much like on most seasons of Total Drama as well as on a lot of reality shows in general, the eliminated contestants return in the finale to root for and support the finalists during the final challenge.
  • Black-and-Grey Morality: Some of the contestants can be real nasty pieces of work, ranging from manipulative chessmasters to just all around jerks who treat everyone like crap. And yet, every other camper sooner or later becomes willing to backstab or sabotage each other in order to remain in the game.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: At the end of each episode of Season 2 and the remastered version of Season 1, characters (usually whoever was eliminated in that episode) thank Patreons for their support.
  • Darker and Edgier: Despite still being comedic, the series has more adult moments than other shows and can slip into PG-13 material at times.
  • Dramedy: While the series has no shortage of funny moments, the main focus is primarily on the many relationships, platonic or romantic, between the campers, and the tension between them as the game goes on and more people start dropping out.
  • Dwindling Party: Much like its inspiration show due to Player Elimination. Other episode-specific examples include a challenge to stay awake the longest and a Slasher Movie episode.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • In the beta version of the first season, the votes weren't revealed to the contestants and each contestant who wasn't eliminated was given a marshmallow. Afterwards, each vote was read out and none of the contestants received marshmallows.
    • Season 2 features the contestants living in cabins, eating in a mess hall, having showers, and having luxuries and personal items like phones and gaming consoles which comes off a bit strange when compared to the seasons produced after it such as Season 1 and All-Stars, which features the more Survivor style format of camp life.
    • In Season 2 Episode 1, the Pilot of the series, the episodes are animated and recorded with the Spanish audio track in mind. Episode 2 onwards as well as Season 1 and All-Stars would instead be animated and recorded with the English audio track in mind instead.
  • Grey-and-Gray Morality: The majority of campers are either perfectly decent people or at least neutral in the morality scale, but everyone is willing to betray or sabotage one another in order to advance in the game.
  • Impossible Hourglass Figure: Per the art style of its inspiration show, most of the girls have such figures. The only ones who aren't shaped in a conventionally flawless hourglass way are Fiore (owing to being a six-year-old child), Grett, Karol, Maggy, Miriam and Rosa Maria.
  • Mr. Fanservice:
    • Tom. Between the original and current version of the first season, his design got a huge overhaul in terms of physique, becoming a lot brawnier. This is even referenced in-universe with some very brief moments between him and Jake.
    • Alec. Fans have welcomed him as a male example of the Hot Librarian very quickly.
    • James. He, along with Jake from the beta version of the previous season, are the only guys to show full-body nudity on the show. It's even used as a thumbnail for Episode 5. He also wears quite tight swimming trunks as his swimsuit, which is even featured on a thumbnail for Episode 7.
    • To a slightly lesser extent than James, Hunter. He's also quite attractive and he appears shirtless more than any other guy on the show, doing so in Episode 3 when entering the bathroom (which is also used as a thumbnail for the sneak peek of this episode), during one of his dares in Episode 5, as well as while wearing a swimsuit in two episodes, with Episode 7 featuring him wearing his swimsuit on a thumbnail.
  • Ms. Fanservice:
    • Ashley, the strong and kind-hearted cowgirl retains this role from the beta version.
    • Kristal, a leggy hostess of the show with the most voluptuous body of the girls with slim physique, which is even more visible than usual when she wears a bikini.
    • Riya, quite good-looking Bollywood actress who's shown wearing a bikini more often than any other girl on the show.
    • Ally, more so than any other girl of the season or even the prior one. Examples include:
      • She's shown in her Playboy Bunny costume in two episodes, once via a picture from the time she streamed wearing this outfit, and the other time as a part of her dare during the challenge. There's also official art of a full-body version of Ally in this costume.
      • Much like other members of the initial final eight + Kristal, Ally is wearing a swimsuit in two episodes. She's also one of the girls to wear a bikini.
      • In Episode 8, her Shower Scene starts with a Sexy Silhouette. She then becomes one of three girls in the show to be seen topless on-screen, and the only one to do so while fully naked in a shower. She spends the rest of the challenge wearing an improvised Modesty Towel with a bathroom stall curtain.
      • Further bonus points for her wearing a bunny costume being featured on a thumbnail for Episode 4, her Sexy Silhouette being on one for the trailer for Episode 8, and a shot of her being topless on-screen being used for one of Episode 8 proper.
      • Word of God even says one of the writers tried to get a scene of her and Hunter going into the showers together, but the others vetoed it for being way too much.
    • Emily, a Proud Beauty who spots Lascivious Beauty Mark, wears heavy make-up, and much like Kristal exposes her cleavage and midriff.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: While rare, moments where the campers are removed from the game due to outside factors do happen, like Ashley being too dazed by tranquilizer darts in Adventure Camp or Yul needing to be evacuated because of food poisoning in Season 2.
  • Player Elimination: At the end of most episodes, the campers will be taken to the center of the camp to perform an elimination ceremony, where one of them will be sent home by either not getting a marshmallow (beta) or getting the most votes (Seasons 1 and 2).
  • Recurring Element: Ellie and Fiore are always eliminated back-to-back. In Adventure Camp, both are the finalists. In the remastered version of Season 1, Ellie ranks third place while Fiore is the runner-up of the season. In All-Stars, Fiore is eliminated in Episode 7 while Ellie is in Episode 8.
  • Sadistic Game Show: While not as much as Total Drama (the show the series is based on), the characters participate in a game show with some painful and/or humiliating challenges.
  • Shout-Out: Has its own page.
  • Schrödinger's Canon: The show was initially set in the same universe as Total Drama, taking place several years after the pre-reboot era ended. However, Season 1 has been remastered, at least partly so as to get rid of any ties to its inspiration show to prevent lawsuits and allow Disventure Camp to be its own original story. However, since Season 2 hasn't been remastered, Kristal now becomes vaguely related to Chris McLean, with there also being a chance that her father is now someone else who just happens to have a similar background and the same last name as him. Nonetheless, Aiden's It's Been Done complain about Awake-A-Thon challenge continues to only make sense if the show still shares the universe with Total Drama and takes place after it.
  • Trailers Always Spoil:
    • Season 1:
      • Trailer for Episode 8 spoiled the merge starting in this episode, showing scenes of contestants clearly moving to a new cabin and everyone having their own individual color scheme during the challenge as opposed to their team's purple or teal one used throughout the season.
      • Trailer for Episode 13 spoiled Gabby being Ellie's helper in the finale, Grett being Fiore's, and Tom being Miriam's.
    • Season 2:
      • Sneak Peek for Episode 3 spoils that Tess suffers from depression.
      • Trailer for Episode 5 spoiled the challenge involving dares along with James and Yul scheming together. The shot with vomit on the ground at the campfire also spoils that the plan to poison someone will succeed, except it doesn't reveal who'd fall victim to it.
      • While the trailer for Episode 6 doesn't make it too obvious, some fans figured out that this episode will be a non-elimination one because of the shot with everyone cheering and a few scenes of them being relaxed in a hot tub.
      • Trailer for Episode 7 spoiled Ally and Tess being in danger of elimination via the shot where they exchange glances with each other during the elimination ceremony.
      • Trailer for Episode 8 spoiled horror-themed challenge akin to "Hook, Line, and Screamer", Ally being captured in a classic horror Shower Scene, Aiden being captured as well, and the trio of Lake, Riya, and Rosa Maria clearly being the final three survivors. On a subverted note, a shot where Rosa Maria is angry by the bus stop might mislead some fans to believe she'd be eliminated.
      • Trailer for Episode 9 spoiled Oliver finally coming back.
      • Trailer for Episode 11 spoiled that the boys will find out Riya's new true nature and team up against her, only for her to use the immunity totem she had stolen from Rosa Maria.
      • While not a trailer, the thumbnail for Episode 13 shows Riya in a bikini, clearly competing in the underweater part of the challenge. With Kristal explaining in Episode 12 that there are only 2 motorboats before this part of the challenge because one person is going to be eliminated halfway through, it spoils her surviving this point
  • Wham Episode: Has its own page.
  • What Could Have Been: In-universe example, but in Episode 4 of Season 2 it's revealed that Aiden could have been a contestant in the first season, as he auditioned for it, but was rejected for being considered uninteresting.
  • Voted Off the Island: How Player Elimination works, based on its inspiration shows.

    Season 1
  • Angry Fist-Shake: After stealing her flashlight and causing her fall to the ground (though the latter seemed accidental), Miriam angrily raises a clenched fist at Alec and shakes it at him. She does the same to Jenson when he steals her prize money in the finale.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Grett, Fiore, and Alec join forces once they're the final three members of the Purple Team, with the latter two having worked together pretty much as of the first episode.
  • Big "NO!":
    • Upon learning that she has been voted out, Gabby exclaims an extended "No!" in horror.
    • Fiore exclaims "No!" in horror when Miriam hits her kart in the finale, causing her to fall behind.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Out of anger, Fiore commands Ashley to shut up in the finale after she insults her.
  • Big "WHAT?!":
    • When he learns he would have to go bald if he were to face his fear in a challenge, Alec says "What!?" in shock.
    • Gabby exclaims "What!?" when she finally starts to catch on that Grett was using her to win immunity herself.
  • Big "YES!": Out of happiness, Fiore exclaims "Yes!" when her team wins in Episode 7. Considering this was after her team lost for several episodes straight and this means she isn't at risk of being eliminated that episode, you can see why.
  • Book Ends: In the remastered version, Purple Team wins the first challenge after Fiore's trick of replacing her team's flag with a false one she had created. In the finale, Tom uses a similar trick, switching the flags of the finalists' go-karts after witnessing Grett tampering with one of them.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Not only breaking the beta version's and Season 2's trends, but also the trends of its inspiration show, Total Drama. The remastered version is the first time ever that the final three is entirely down to one gender.
  • Cliffhanger: Excluding post-credits scenes of characters thanking Patreons, episodes of the remastered version of Season 1 typically end on a cliffhanger rather than the hosts signing off the episode.
  • Color Motif: The teams' colors are more often used for their corresponding teammates in this season. On their promotional images, the teammates have their names written with either teal or purple outlines. In Episode 1, the teams are given teal and purple paintball guns respectively. In Episode 2, they have to catch a flag of the corresponding color. In Episode 4, contestants are given swimsuits in their team's color.
  • Crush Blush:
    • Several instances have Jake blush due to his crush on Tom, though it happens contrariwise when he compliments Tom's eyes.
    • Ellie blushes when Gabby (who she's in love with) kisses her on the cheek in Episode 6.
  • Decided by One Vote: With Purple Team being down to its final three teammates in Episode 6, and thus Ellie and Fiore voting for each other, the result of their side of the mock elimination ceremony is decided by Alec's vote.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Due to season 2 airing before season 1, Oliver's frequent cameos as the intern demonstrating the challenges is this to those who watch the seasons in chronological order as opposed to airing order.
  • Eat That: Episode 5 features a gross food eating portion of the contest, similar to Total Drama's tradition of having one gross food eating episode per season.
  • Evil Laugh: A couple times, Fiore lets out evil laughter when in the mood. After she gets Dan's glasses broken via causing him to fall, for instance, she loudly laughs out of cruelty. She also later laughs out of satisfaction and arrogance when talking to Alec about how the other contestants fell for their trap in Episode 8.
  • Engineered Public Confession: Derek's twist in Episode 8 is an interesting example of this. He reveals to the contestants everyone's votes and their confessionals. Technically, this applies to everyone, but especially Fiore, whose true colors are revealed to everyone who didn't already know since she gloated during her confessional. She's noticeably horrified when Derek reveals the twist, and furious afterwards.
  • Eye Scream: In the finale, Gabby threatens to inflict this on Grett as she threatens to gouge her eyes out with a key if she were to try to sabotage her girlfriend Ellie again.
  • Facepalm: Due to being frustrated with her teammates during a challenge, Gabby facepalms.
  • Fist Pump: With both of her palms facing inwards, Fiore gleefully raises both of her fists above her when her team completes a challenge and when it's declared that her team won. Given this means she isn't at risk of being eliminated that episode and this was the first time her team won in several episodes, it makes sense. In Episode 12, she does the same thing with both of her fists when she manages to win part of a challenge with Miriam. When she earns a guaranteed spot in the finale, she raises one clenched fist in victory above her head.
  • Flagpole Challenge: One of the challenges in Episode 12 involves two greased flagpoles with each pair of remaining contestants being told to get the flag at the top.
  • Flaw Exploitation: It's implied Fiore has no issue with taking advantage of others' flaws as she suggests her team should exploit the opposing team's weaknesses.
  • Flipping the Bird: When she's eliminated for good, Grett shows her contempt for the remaining contestants by flipping them all off.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • In Episode 5, When Jake asked Miriam if she's going to call anyone, she tells Jake she has nobody to call. We later find out in the episode that She's a Sole Survivor of her family because she lost her husband and son.
    • Ashley tells Alec and Ellie that they're going to regret keeping Fiore over her and Lill. Sure enough, Fiore (and Alec) uses Ellie as The Scapegoat for her strategy in Episode 10, causing a rift between her and Jake. She then betrays Alec in the penultimate episode.
    • Five-Second Foreshadowing: In the trailer of Episode 9, when Tom takes his mask off, we only see the back of his face. Blink and you'll miss it, but the back of Tom's face shows one little scar. The real episode shows us that Tom has many scars on his face.
  • Framing Device: The epilogue of the remaster reveals that Kristal was watching footage of the first season with Oliver, and now that she has seen the original season she can start picking contestants for the All-Stars season.
  • Gasp!: After seeing something horrifying in Episode 8, Gabby gasps in shock.
  • Hand Behind Head: In the season finale, Oliver puts a hand behind his head out of embarrassment.
  • Height Insult: In the finale, Grett rudely calls Fiore (who's short) a "shorty".
  • History Repeats:
    • The twist of both teams voting out one of their members only for both of them to switch teams and the episode thus being rendered as a non-elimination round was used twice, in Episode 1 and 6 (revealed by the start of Episode 7).
    • While the elimination order has been changed from its original beta version, there are a couple parts that are repeated in both versions of Season 1:
      • Will is eliminated in Episode 2 as the first boot of his team.
      • Tom ranks 6th place in both versions.
      • Ellie and Fiore make it to the finale in both versions, with the only difference being that they're accompanied by Miriam in the remake.
      • Furthermore, counting Ellie's ending of Adventure Camp, Fiore was the runner-up of both versions.
  • Humiliation Conga: When her scheme to win immunity is close to succeeding, Grett's ally Gabby snaps at her for mistreating her and gives her "The Reason You Suck" Speech. She also betrays her and thoroughly thwarts her scheme via pushing her into the lake while she wins immunity for herself. Despite Grett being confident she wouldn't be eliminated, her alliance member Miriam betrays her as she votes her off with Dan and Gabby (who she tried to threaten to vote for Dan). When she learns she's been voted off, she also gets mocked by Miriam. Granted, she later learns she wasn't actually eliminated and is just switching teams, but these clearly aren't her proudest moments. Later, she also gets betrayed by Fiore with Alec following suit, with her getting voted off for real.
  • Ironic Nursery Tune: The trailer for episode 11 has the nursery rhyme "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" playing, while the contestants are competing in a life-threatening challenge and when Oliver is being chased by a giant scorpion.
  • It's Personal: When voting off Gabby with her alliance, Grett states her vote is "personal" because Gabby "double-crossed" her (although Gabby did so because she treated her like shit).
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Only one episode after getting Gabby voted off and gloating to her about it, Grett gets voted off herself after being betrayed by her alliance (most notably Fiore).
  • Malicious Slander: While strategizing with her alliance, Fiore considers spreading untruths about Gabby and Ellie to get them eliminated.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • After her go-kart crashes into a tree in the finale, Fiore claims she feels as if she was hit by a bus - a reference to her Laser-Guided Karma from her ending of the beta version.
    • Tom briefly jokes that he failed to retrieve Miriam's prize money from Jensen, which is a reference to how Jensen successfully ran away with either winner's money in the beta version.
  • Oh, Crap!: Tom is horrified in Episode 10 after realizing that Fiore and Alec tricked him into using his immunity totem to save Jake when they were actually voting for Tom instead.
  • "Oh, Crap!" Smile: When none of the contestants even try to help Trevor and Derek when the cops arrive to arrest the duo, the former smiles nervously, knowing he's screwed.
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": Out of frustration, Fiore exclaims "No!" several times in a row in the finale due to her kart (which she was supposed to ride to the finish line) not working properly.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • After being fed up with Grett's mistreatment of her, Gabby insults Grett several times. She calls her out for being ungrateful, implies she's lazy, and states that she doesn't have to feel bad for her because she experiences parental issues. She then tells Grett that everyone has problems, but she can't treat people like shit.
    • In Episode 11, Jake rants about Ellie, telling her to not get him started on what about her irritates him the most and suggests she's "a bad person". He blames her for his breakup with Tom, saying he won't talk to him again due to her. He also rudely tells her she doesn't know what it's like to be cheated on like he was. However, Ellie later gets fed up with him and insults Jake a bunch in return. She tells him he can "eat shit and die", mocks him for being upset over being cheated on, and tells him to grow up. She tells him he isn't a victim like he says he is and is actually a mere "sponge for drama". She then states he feeds off the littlest setbacks and acts like the world is against him. She says Tom[[notewho broke up with him in Episode 10 likely saw these aspects too and tells him he doesn't have the right to shame her, stating she possesses "some sense to not be a dick" as she didn't try to shame him when he eliminated her girlfriend Gabby. She even says that maybe his ex-boyfriend wouldn't have cheated on him if he wasn't "so annoying". Lampshaded by Trevor in Episode 12]].
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Episode 11 has giant, dangerous scorpions with some red in their eyes. They also seem to have no issue attacking the contestants.
  • Sleep Cute: Along with being a couple, Jake and Tom innocently sleep together in Episode 10.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Jake's grandmother. She is only mentioned and in Episode 5, she passes away. This caused Miriam's Heel–Face Turn the rest of the season.
  • Sore Loser: Just about every eliminated contestant this season is this aside from Will, who doesn't say anything on his way out, and Drew, who is a more Graceful Loser.
  • Sound-Effect Bleep: During a confessional, Fiore angrily calls Miriam (who she hates) something vulgar, but a "bleep" sound censors whatever she said.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Subverted. Episode 11's trailer has "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" playing, both the trailer plus the episode show Oliver briefly being chased by what resembles a huge spider at a glance, and the characters seem to find it creepy. However, it's later shown to be a scorpion, which isn't the same as a spider (though they're both arachnids).
  • Stealth Sequel: The finale reveals that the season was actually the tape of "unreleased footage" that Kristal found at the end of Season 2, and she and Oliver have been watching said footage in order to help Kristal decide who to pick for All Stars.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Double-subverted. Several times Grett brags about how she's going to win the season in a couple episodes. Later, she seemingly gets voted off roughly halfway in the game. While she later learns that she was only switching teams, she gets booted off for real only a couple of episodes later.
    • In Episode 6, Ellie tells Gabby she doesn't need to give her her totem (which renders all votes against the contestant invalid if used before the elimination ceremony) because she was confident that Alec would easily vote off Fiore. Not only was it hard for Alec to decide who to vote off, Ellie seemingly gets eliminated instead. Granted, she later learns she was just switching teams.
    • Fiore suggests she'll be a millionaire due to winning the prize money in Episode 12. Not only does she seem confident she'll win in the finale, she mockingly refers to Miriam as a "loser". She ends up losing to her.
    • Ellie reveals she believes she can defeat both Miriam and Fiore in the finale. She ends up losing to both of them.
  • Throwing the Fight:
    • As part of their scheme to have their alliance member Grett win immunity, Alec and Fiore intentionally lose Episode 8's challenge.
    • Episode 12 has Ellie deliberately lose challenges while working with Alec so Miriam and Fiore would win as part of a plan to get Alec eliminated.
  • Trying Not to Cry: During her Humiliation Conga, Fiore seems to be trying not to shed tears when Miriam receives the prize money for defeating her in the final challenge.
  • Vehicular Sabotage: In both the beta and the remake, Grett splits off from her current team in order to sabotage one of the carts the finalists have to drive for the final stretch. What happens after varies heavily depending on the version: either Ellie picks the sabotaged cart by accident and either gets a lucky boost from Percussive Maintenance in her ending, or loses outright in Fiore's ending in the beta, or Tom switches the flags of the carts so Fiore picks up the busted cart in the remake.
  • We Need a Distraction:
    • During a plan, Ashley has Lill distract the other teammates via giving them strawberries while she sneaks into one of her team's tents and takes Fiore's notebook.
    • In Episode 9, Fiore distracts Tom, Miriam, and Jake by lying her allies Alec and Grett got attacked by zombies and she hasn't eaten in days. It's also revealed to be part of a scheme so Alec and Grett could steal from their tent.
  • "What Do They Fear?" Episode: The challenge of Episode 3 is based on the cast's phobias, similarly to Phobia Factor from Total Drama.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness:
    • Due to her no longer being useful to them, Alec and Fiore vote off Grett in Episode 9, who was previously in an alliance with them. Granted, it also seemed to be because their alliance was exposed due to Derek.
    • In Episode 12, part of why Fiore chose Ellie instead of her ally Alec to go to the finale is because the latter is longer useful to her.
  • Your Little Dismissive Diminutive:
    • To mock Tom and show contempt for Jake, Fiore (who's arrogant) refers to the latter as "your little dumb boyfriend" when tricking Tom in Episode 10.
    • Miriam calls Fiore (who she clearly dislikes) a "little rascal" in the finale.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: The setting of the VR world in Episode 9 features zombies (who appeared to have caused an apocalypse) who can infect humans, which they seem to feed on, via biting them.

    Season 2
  • Abusive Parents: Lake is described as having them. Her family makes her study every minute she gets, she has to eat little or rarely at all, and they arranged for her to marry a guy she does not know.
  • Acrofatic: Oliver is on the pudgy side, but he's the first contestant to make it to Kristal, showing that he's rather fast.
  • Artistic License: While the show has even more faithful portrayal to Survivor regarding how immunity idol is supposed to be used than Total Drama, as its owner has to reveal their intention to use it before the votes are read which risks wasting it; immunity idols on Survivor have a deadline of when they can be used, with it usually being until the final 5. Here, Riya is able to use it in the final 4.
  • Asshole Victim: Given how much of an asshole he is to everyone and how he planned to have James poison Aiden, it's hard to feel any sympathy for Yul when James poisons him instead.
  • Betty and Veronica: Hunter (Archie) has Ship Tease with Lovable Nerd and Gamer Chick Ally (Betty) and aloof aloner Tess (Veronica). Ally wins but Tess remains good friends with the other two.
  • The Big Bad Shuffle: While Yul is the initial antagonist, being a Jerkass bully that antagonizes the others, he ends up leaving in Episode 5 after his plan to poison Aiden backfires and he ends up getting poisoned instead. While Episodes 6 and 7 have No Antagonist, Karol becomes the new antagonist in Episode 8 after rejoining the game, being The Corrupter to Riya and Aiden, while trying to take down Aiden and James, she ends up medically evacuated by breaking her leg just one episode after rejoining. Afterwards, in Episode 10, Riya ends up pulling a Face–Heel Turn when she backstabs Rosa by stealing James's phone and puts it along with her perfume in her bag in the challenge, while stealing her totem, getting her eliminated and becoming the main antagonist for the rest of the season.
  • The Big Girl: Maggy is taller than every character in the season and is bigger as well. Maggy isolates herself because of this.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Nina, Marcus' puppet. She has a lot of rude comments to say to everyone and enjoys being a sadist.
  • Breather Episode: Episode 6. Not only does it end up being a non-elimination episode, but all duos end up at least slightly bonding with each other if not heavily strengthening their bonds, and everyone happily joins celebrating in a hot tub, giving a drama-less impression of everyone being friends before the events to come.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Yul gets eliminated halfway through the season, leaving a much more strategic James and a vengeful Karol to take as the antagonist of the second half.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Since the first episode of Season 2 was first uploaded in Spanish, the lip movements were animated to match the language, causing a notable Lip Lock when the episode received an English dub. Episode 2 onwards would have the animation match the English dub instead.
  • Everyone Has Standards: James doesn't want to harm the contestants just to win, even refusing to poison Aiden unlike Yul.
  • Evil Laugh: Due to thinking he could eliminate Riya or Connor, Yul laughs out of cruelty.
  • Final Girl: Lake in the horror-themed challenge, though she does not survive this, losing the challenge to the "killer" and being eliminated in the same episode.
  • Flipping the Bird: After Kai is eliminated, he flips off Yul to show him disapproval.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Hunter and Tess are working with Yul, but it's clear that they can't stand him because of how superior and snotty he acts. Hunter occasionally gives him a Death Glare and Tess smiles if he's humiliated. Once Yul is booted, Hunter admits that they only put up with him because his unlikability gave them a good cover from the others when it was time to send someone home.
  • Gamer Chick: Ally. She packed enough consoles for herself in order to play games and even has backups.
  • Gasp!:
    • After realizing how tall Maggy is in the first episode, Oliver gasps out of fear.
    • After learning that Connor has decided to leave the camp of his own terms, Riya gasps in shock.
  • Gold Tooth of Wealth: Connor has a single gold tooth. He's a wealthy businessman who can afford to buy the hotel where the eliminated contestants stay in so that he doesn't have to stay there after his elimination.
  • The Heart: Rosa Maria acts as one in her friend group with Lake, Maggy, and Riya.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Riya fears being lonely in the game, so her connecting with Connor and Rosa Maria makes her feel like she can relate to them. Unfortunately, her paranoia over Rosa apparently hiding the fact that she found the idol at first causes her to flip and send home Lake in a betrayal to their alliance.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While grumpy and surly, Karol was right about telling Connor to act like his own age as that'll make him more accepted by everyone.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Rosa Maria towards her friends, especially Lake.
  • Lighter and Softer: While being Darker and Edgier than Total Drama tone and storywise, the gameshow itself is much less of a sadist show, with contestants being put in less danger and overall treated better than on Total Drama.
  • Love Triangle: Hunter bonds well with Ally and Tess, and both of them like him back. Connor informs him of this fact, but he tells them not to discuss it til after the competition. Eventually, it seems to fade away to a mere friendship between the three.
  • Morality Pet: Karol doesn't like anyone, but animals warm her up. She nurtures them whenever they're injured, and was happy to leave with an animal by her side.
  • My Greatest Failure: Rosa Maria wants to be tender and compassionate towards adult Riya since she didn't get to say goodbye to Maggy because of the team swap and had gotten into an argument with Lake about her family traditions.
  • Precision F-Strike: Kai blows off these towards Yul during episode 3 and at his own elimination.
    • James blows one in Episode 11 after being exposed by Riya for using his relationship with Aiden to gain followers.
  • Pushover Parents: Averted. Marcus disciplines Nina if she starts to get out of control.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Ally during the dares challenge.
  • Sanity Slippage: Kristal knows about how sadistic her father became, so she has her intern let her know when to be rational towards the campers. However, she starts to ignore her plan and becomes sadistic and ratings-hungry like her father. This comes to a head when Oliver gives her a "The Reason You Suck" Speech and quits, and the next episodes give her a big dose of humble pie when she’s forced to see how hard an intern's job really is under her employ.
  • Series Continuity Error: Ally's tattoo is only visible as of Episode 6. It's clearly missing when she's in her Playboy Bunny costume in Episode 4 and 5, which Word of God even admitted to being an honest oversight.
  • Ship Sinking: After initial Ship Tease, Connor x Riya sinks in the first part of the finale, with Connor refusing to continue supporting her during the challenge after realizing her Face–Heel Turn, and with her claiming she doesn't need him in turn.
  • So Proud of You: Unlike the canon version of this show, where everyone is mostly against each other, this series has everyone be happy of their successes and how they've changed.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: In Episode 2, Krystal gives Karol and Ally glasses of orange juice. After they drink it, she reveals put powerful sleeping pills in the drinks.
  • Team Mom: Rosa Maria is 19, but has a toddler-aged daughter. She also acts motherly and comforting to her friends.
  • Tempting Fate: In the first challenge, Ally gets ahead of Karol and teasingly tells her she'll see her in the finish line. She soon crashes into some bushes, causing Karol to take the lead.
  • Token Adult: Connor, Karol, and Riya are the only contestants who aren't around the age of teenagers.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: The final 3; Aiden, James, and Riya.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Actually averted:
    • Oliver gets to stay as an intern, which allows him to continue appearing for the rest of the season (sans several episodes when he ran away), further developing his struggles and relationship with the host, Kristal.
    • Karol, who otherwise would've been the most underutilized character of the season, got to return after her elimination, even becoming a temporary antagonist. While she's quickly eliminated afterwards, her return still allows her personality to be more fleshed out and gives her more plot relevance.
    • Both Kai and Maggy were eliminated fairly early, but got to showcase their personality just enough and even had a romantic plot with each other. They also stayed in the forest, allowing them to have cameo appearances in future episodes.
    • While Connor didn't last too long in the competition, he managed to establish his personality, get some Character Development appreciating his age, and developed a closer bond with Riya.
    • Yul, the last pre-merge boot and the only pre-merge boot who didn't get to return in any way after his elimination, also got to establish his personality and left quite an impact as the first antagonist. And everyone eliminated after him lasted long enough to avert this trope, with almost all of them feeling like main characters of the season.

    All-Stars
  • Ascended Meme: Grett describes Yul as her "spicy abed boyfriend," which is a reference to possibly the most memetic Patreon username - Tam loves Yul and his spicy abs. Emily also mockingly refers to his spicy abs in Episode 8.
  • Baby Talk: Despite being a young adult, Aiden teasingly tells Emily and his boyfriend James "My hubby is vewy sowwy" in regards to the latter originally feigning a relationship with him for publicity.
  • Better the Devil You Know: At Cyan Team's first elimination ceremony, Ellie reveals to Tom how Lake was trying to convince them to vote for him. Tom is faced with voting for either Ellie, who he doesn't like, or Lake, who he doesn't know but is trying to eliminate him. He ends up voting out Lake because she was actively gunning for him, but knows that Ellie only helped him to benefit her own game.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Per Alec's idea, all of the competing past antagonists (including Ellie) form an alliance to make it to the final 6 in spite of being Hated by All.
  • Big "WHAT?!":
    • After learning she's not allowed to bring electronic devices or her luggage and has to jump out of a plane, Riya exclaims "What!?" in surprise.
    • When he learns he has to jump out a the private jet he and the other contestants were on, Aiden exclaims "What!?" out of shock. Given his fear of heights, it fits.
    • In surprise, Yul shouts "What!?" after learning the cabins were burned down.
    • Out of surprise, James yells "What!?" when it's announced that he's the first eliminated contestant.
    • After discovering a vote was left against him in the fourth episode, Yul exclaims "What!?" due to being surprised and angry.
  • Big "WHY?!": While unhappy, Yul shouts "Why!?" upon learning the cabins were burnt down.
  • Big "YES!":
    • Out of joy, Gabby exclaims a long "Yay!" while jumping out of Kristal's private jet with a parachute. It fits, given how energetic she often is.
    • Fiore exclaims "Yes!" out of happiness after her team wins the second challenge because she would likely be eliminated if they lost due to being Hated by All.
    • Ellie happily says "Yes!" when she wins for her team in the fourth episode.
  • Blackmail: After learning Alec created an alliancenote , Miriam threatens him she'll tell everybody else about it unless they agree they won't vote off her or Jake (whom she's good friends with). However, this causes her to get eliminated.
  • Blackmail Backfire: After learning he started an alliance with several other contestants, Miriam attempts to blackmail Alec that she'll tell everyone about it unless he agrees to not make them vote off her or Jake. However, Alec intentionally lost the challenge so he could get her eliminated. While Miriam spilled the beans, it didn't save her.
  • Blunt "No": In the first episode, Miriam gives Ellie a blunt and harsh-sounding "No" when the latter asks her and the other contestants if anyone is going to greet her.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Excluding Adventure Camp, the previous two seasons had 14 contestants and 13 episodes each. This season will have 18 contestants and 21 episodes instead. Also unlike previous seasons (Adventure Camp excluded) that had Gender-Equal Ensemble, All-Stars features 10 women and 8 men competing. It's also the only season of the series to have 3 smaller teams as opposed to 2. Keeping up with the theme of 3s of the third season, the prize money is also 3 million dollars, which has never been the case both for Disventure Camp and its inspiration show.
  • By the Hair: Due to his jerkassery frustrating her, Riya grabs some of Yul's hair while threatening him.
  • The Cameo: Both Rosa Maria and Will appear in the premiere episode, seeing off Lake and Ashley respectively.
  • Captivity Harmonica: While in prison, Trevor played a harmonica seemingly to pass time.
  • Cassandra Truth: Originally, several of Ellie's teammates don't seem to believe her when she tells them Miriam is misleading them, although it's made clear to the audience that it's true. They discover the truth soon, though.
  • Condescending Compassion: After throwing sand in Ellie's eyes to sabotage her during a challenge, Riya condescendingly (and clearly insincerely) apologizes to her.
  • Content Warnings: In a post announcing Grett competing in the season, the crew included a warning that her plot will touch the delicate subject of weight loss.
  • Costume Evolution: Many of the competitors have design updates compared to their first appearance such as new hairstyles and/or outfits. Notably, these mostly apply to the Season 1 cast, as the characters from Season 2 either have designs mostly similar to before with only minor changes (Lake, Connor, etc) or no changes at all (Hunter, Aiden, etc), with only a few of them getting more noticeable changes (Ally, Riya, Tess).
  • Didn't See That Coming: During his plan in the fourth episode, Alec gets many contestants to join up with him and he convinces them to join an alliance with him. However, Miriam ended up overhearing it and she tries to blackmail him over it, which he didn't anticipate.
  • Dope Slap: A joke in the third episode involves Trevor smacking the back of Derek's head with an open hand out of frustration after he foolishly suggested sharks and eels should be released for the challenge (which they would have to test out since they're the interns).
  • DreamWorks Face: Riya and Tess's poster has her pull off this expression.
  • Facepalm: Due to being irritated by Derek not wanting to become an intern, Trevor facepalms.
  • Feet-First Introduction: Played with when Riya, a Ms. Fanservice, is introduced feet-first. However, while this is the first time she's seen in that season, it's not her first appearance in the series overall.
  • Fist Pump: When her team wins the second challenge, Fiore triumphantly raises a clenched and inward-facing fist near her shoulder.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: In Episode 6, a couple members of Yellow Team notice the faulty lights throughout their performance. Sure enough, as soon as their song ends, one of the lights falls on Yul's foot.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Grett is shown in a yellow bikini in the opening intro whereas Aiden and James wear cyan and magenta swimming trunks in the scene where they get informed about the upcoming All-Stars season. This all foreshadows their placement on their respective teams. One may also include Yul, although his example is more subtle due to only having yellow as a part of his fire design on his swimsuit.
    • James and Lake are the first contestants to appear in the intro and they also appear together. They're the first two boots of the season.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Ellie is not well liked by most of her fellow Season 1 competitors (with the exception of Gabby and Ashley) due to how she bad-mouthed them in interviews after the season. Jake, Tom, and Miriam are especially upset at her over it, and even Gabby thinks she may have gone a bit too far.
  • Gasp!:
    • In the first episode, when Hunter tells Ally he forgot to bring a Nitendo Switch, she lets out a small gasp in horror.
    • When Riya reveals her only mistake was picking Connor as a helper in the finale of last season, the man who asked her that gasps in shock. He even says "Gasp" too.
    • In surprise, Riya gasps when she learns the prize money has been tripled.
  • Girly Run: A nun is seen running after Fiore with her arms in front of her.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: In the English dub, Lake (who's German) says "Adios"note  while saying bye to Sophia and Rosa. This seemed to be because Sophia and Rosa Maria are Latinas.
  • Groin Attack: In the first episode, Rosa Maria tells Lake to kick Yul (who she can't stand) in the balls for her.
  • Hand Behind Head:
    • Out of embarrassment, Tom puts a hand behind his head when Miriam calls him out on the fact he should've at least called her and Jake to see how they're doing.
    • Connor puts a hand behind his head due to being upset and seemingly embarrassed by Riya insulting him in public.
    • Marcus puts his hand behind his head in embarrassment in the third episode.
    • Connor puts a hand at the back of his head in a confessional (which seemed to be due to embarrassment) when confessing he feels Alec "comes off a bit mysterious at times".
    • While trying to convince Fiore to join his alliance with Ally, Hunter puts a hand behind his head while insincerely apologizing to the former.
    • Played with. Alec puts a hand behind his head when apologizing to his team after doing poorly challenge. He also does the same thing when apologizes to them when he loses. However, that seemed to be done so he could pretend he was embarrassed as he was actually Throwing the Fight, befitting of someone sneaky like him.
  • A Handful for an Eye: To temporarily blind Ellie and to sabotage her, Riya throws some sand in her eyes. Connor even lampshades it.
  • Happy Ending Override: To the Love Triangle subplot in Season 2; back at the finale, Hunter, Ally, and Tess decided that they were all better as friends and ended the season on good terms. Come All-Stars, not only did Hunter pick one of the girls, Ally, after all, but it lead to backlash from Ally's fanbase, with the two being shown to bicker and be on shaky ground. As for Tess, she split off from the trio in order to go to art school, with All-Stars being the first time she sees them since Season 2 a year prior.
  • Haughty "Hmph": Out of contempt for Aiden, Riya (who's arrogant) makes a proud-sounding "Hmph" while intentionally bumping into him.
  • Irony:
    • The winner of the previous season, James, is eliminated in the very first episode.
    • The three highest-ranking Season 1 contestants - Miriam, Fiore, and Ellie - are the first three Season 1 contestants eliminated, exactly in that order to boot.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When Aiden mentions in Episode 6 that he loves theatre and that he tried to get into an acting career before, Tess asks him how did she not know that, which leads Aiden to point out that they only spoke about two times during season 2.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: During a challenge, Grett intentionally takes Ally's glasses and throws them away from her to sabotage her. She soon gets tripped by Tom, which causes her to lose the challenge.
  • Legion of Doom: As part of a scheme, Alec has all the villainous contestants (i.e. himself, Yul, Grett, Fiore, and Ellie) form an alliance to take down the other contestants.
  • Mirthless Laughter: Due to being nervous, Ally chuckles when trying to start a conversation with Fiore to get her to join her alliance with Hunter.
  • Mistaken for Gay: After both Grett and Yul reveal they're dating, Jake and Riya suggest they mistook the latter for being gay.
  • Musical Episode: Episode 6 features each of the teams having to perform a song. Cyan performs an upbeat acoustic song, Magenta performs a pop rock song, and Yellow performs a rock song.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: When saying she wants to avenge her former alliance members, Ashley admits she doesn't care about Nick, but still includes him.
Ashley: This is the perfect change to get revenge on Fiore! For Will, Lill, and even Nick, who I don't care about, but I'll stick him in there, too.
  • No, You: While fighting over a bag in a challenge, Ally tells Grett "No you!" after she told her to let go of the bag.
  • Oh, Crap!: In the third episode, Derek is horrified when he realizes he and Trevor have to test out a challenge involving sharks and eels.
  • Put on a Bus: Dan, Drew, Kai, Karol, Lill, Maggy, Nick, Rosa Maria, and Will do not return to compete this season. In Rosa Maria's case, she has declined the invitation so that she wouldn't leave her daughter again. Both she and Will appear in the premiere episode, though.
  • Red Herring:
    • The first episode makes a couple of mentions of Miriam's health not being as good as it once was, and one of Ellie's interviews says that if she saw her in danger again, she'd Let her "go into the light", which implied that Miriam's elimination would be because of a medical evacuation, and maybe that Ellie could have something to do with it. While episode 4 has Miriam eliminated, Ellie has nothing to do with it, and Miriam's eliminated by a regular Voted Off the Island method rather than because of health complications.
    • Ally and Hunter bicker a lot, doing so in both the opening theme and throughout all of the episodes they competed in together. However, as opposed to what it might lead to believe, they don't break up and remain fairly understanding of each other.
  • Revenge:
    • Ashley considers taking revenge on Fiore for wronging her in the previous season by eliminating her in return. However, she ends up voting off James instead.
    • Jake seems to view eliminating James as him getting even with Aiden for (at least his mind) replacing him as Tom's Love Interest.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: In the first episode Kristal bribes a nun to convince her not to talk about taking Fiore away from the church to participate. And she also sent Emily to bail Derek and Trevor out of prison in exchange for working as interns for the season.
Gabby: Does money solve everything these days?
  • Skewed Priorities: Rather than completely focus on winning a challenge, Jake asks Aiden about Tom and if he's mentioned him. While doing so, he even stops digging (which was part of the challenge).
  • Stopped Numbering Sequels: This is technically Season 3 of Disventure Camp, but has the title of "All-Stars" instead.
  • Suddenly Shouting: In the second episode, Emily tells Derek and Trevor that the challenge (which they were helping with) was beginning and that Kristal (their boss) needs them "on the double". While she didn't shout when she said either of those things, she follows it up by suddenly shouting at them to move.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
    • In spite of being True Companions, getting Ship Tease or outright being in a relationship, quite a lot of contestants who were close haven't seen each other much between the seasons (Tom and Jake, Connor and Riya, Ally & Hunter and Tess). This is not that different from reality where maintaining relationships formed on a reality show is not that easy since most people would likely live far away from each other, leaving getting in touch online as the most possible form of staying in touch.
    • While the method of coping depends on a person, Alec dealing with his fallen marriage through Drowning His Sorrows is not that unrealistic.
    • Ally and Hunter are revealed to have received a lot of hate after officially announcing their relationship on one of their streams. It is not too uncommon for female streamers and their partners to get hate in real life for doing so, which is why many female streamers (and celebrities in general) prefer to keep their love life a secret.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • In the first episode, Rosa Maria told Lake to be careful who she trusts this time while saying goodbye to her. In the third episode, Lake agrees to join an all girls alliance on Cyan Team with Ellie, Gabby, and Tess, but when she and Ellie couldn't agree on who to vote for at their first elimination Ellie betrays her and throws her under the bus to Tom and Aiden by painting her as the mastermind of the girls alliance and trying to get Tom eliminated, resulting in Lake's elimination.
    • After making a safe landing after jumping out of a plane with a parachute, Fiore is relived and says it "wasn't so bad". Then, Ashley (who was landing the same way) lands on her.
    • James teasingly suggests to Lake and Aiden that they'll be eliminated before him. He ends up being eliminated first, though Lake did get eliminated next.
    • In the first episode, Miriam says she's ready to win the season, only to get eliminated in the fourth episode.
  • This Cannot Be!: In the second episode, James says he can't believe enough of his teammates sided with Jake when it's announced he's eliminated.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Played for Laughs. When she learns who her other teammates are, Fiore gives the camera an annoyed look. She then has a confessional she says she's "screwed" in an irritated tone, though it's clear she accepted it.
  • Throwing the Fight: As part of a plan, Alec intentionally throws the challenge in the fourth episode to make his team lose to get Miriam (who's on the same team as him) eliminated.
  • Time Skip: The season officially takes place 2 years after Season 1 and a year after Season 2, meaning all seasons take place annually.
  • Understatement: In the first episode, Kristal views Ally telling Hunter they're going to be late as an understatement as they arrived late to board a private jet.
  • The Unreveal: In Episode 6, it's never revealed which team actually won the challenge, because the Yellow Team automatically lost when they accidentally set the stage on fire.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: As a nod to 'Survivor, during the pre-merge phase of the season, contestants compete in their swimsuits with colors matching their respective teams' logos, even when challenges don't involve swimming.
  • Wild Teen Party: Played for Drama. As revealed in the fourth episode, Ashley threw a party at her family's farm when she was a teenager when her parents were away. However, garbage that was left out from the party caught on fire which spread and caused serious damage, even killing some animals (including the horses she grew up with). She also feels greatly guilty over this.
  • Would Rather Suffer: Due to being frustrated, Derek suggests he'd rather be back in prison than work as an intern.
  • Writing Lines: In attempt to punish Fiore, a nun forces her to write "I must not shoot tranquilizers at the nuns" multiple times on a chalkboard.
