    In General
  • Adult Hater: With the exception of Santa Claus, the Kids Next Door all have a knee-jerk distrust towards adults. How much distrust depends on the individual, but it's considered policy only to go after adults who are actively harmful to children, with operatives who do so with innocent adults being considered the extremist position.
  • Bamboo Technology: One of the KND's most notable aspects is their use of "2x4 Technology"; weapons, vehicles and other forms of tech built from household objects and rudimentary materials.
  • Benevolent Conspiracy: A lot of In-Universe historical events owes a lot to the KND's never-ending fight against tyrannical adults.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As a general rule, the KND organization fights against Adult Tyrannynote , not Adults as a whole.
  • Good Is Not Nice: The Kids Next Door is an unambiguously good organization out to fight supervillains and systematic injustices that kids face in the world. However, they are prone to solving their problems with violence. It's also KND policy to "decommission" any of their members who turn 13, wiping all memories of them being KND operatives, something that has led to a few agents going rogue and joining the other side out of resentment, something that happened with Numbuh Five's older sister. In later seasons, it's revealed that this doesn't happen to all of their agents; the more loyal and capable members like allowed to keep their memories as double-agents among the teenagers as the Teens Next Door.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Numbuh_362.jpg
Numbuh Three Sixty Two / Rachel T. McKenzie
"As Kids Next Door Soopreme Leader, I hereby order you to... go long!"

Originally the top spy in the KND, she is now its current Soopreme Leader. Due to her busy and demanding job, she's often stressed, but at heart she stands stubbornly for the rights of kids everywhere, and if the situation arises she can be fun-loving too. Has grown to form a close friendship with Nigel Uno.

  • Abdicate the Throne: "Operation I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." reveals that she stepped down as Soopreme Leader one month after the Scavenger Hunt for the Delightful Children's cake, with Numbuh 5 becoming her successor.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She tends to call Numbuh 1 "Soldier" a lot.
  • A Mother to Her Men: Cares about all the operatives under her command.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite living in a world with Bamboo Technology, giant robots, and super-powered villains, she doesn't believe that Numbuh Zero exists. Until the end of Operation: Z.E.R.O., of course.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: As shown in "Operation: I.T." and Operation: Z.E.R.O., she’s no slouch in a fight.
  • Big Good: Her "Soopreme Leader" status really means something.
  • The Chains of Commanding: What kick-starts "Operation: I.T.". Fed up with the constant pressure and having to put up with the needs of her subordinates, she decides to resign from her position.
  • Characterization Marches On: She has a distinctly Canadian accent in her debut episode, which is almost entirely absent in subsequent appearances.
  • Closet Geek: Calls Dr. Time Space and the Continuums (a sci-fi show which is popular among nerds) an awesome show in Operation: "G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D."
  • Cool Helmet: A samurai-esque Bucket Helmet is what she wears.
  • Dangerous Deserter: With Numbuh 60, the GKND consider them fugitives on the run. It is implied that a search is underway for her.
  • Dogged Nice Girl: Implied to have an unrequited crush on Numbuh 1.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Her first speaking appearance is acting as a Foil to Numbuh 86. When she was accidentally captured by the boys of Sector V who believed her to be a teen agent when she was doing undercover work, Numbuh 86 refused to give them any credit due to her misandrist tendencies and gloated about how it was entirely her own idea. Once freed from her bindings, 362 went on an angry rant against 86 for being so incompetent, saying she was ashamed they shared the same gender and proving that she acts as a level-headed leader who fights her own battles rather than shouting orders that only result in failure.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She's a blonde and one of the most rational and kindest KND members.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She's usually shown to be a competent leader, but failed to keep her younger brother Numbuh 363 in line even when the little brat was being an obnoxious jerk to other KND operatives right in front of her.
  • Iconic Sequel Character: Just like 86 as mentioned above, she was introduced in a Season 2 episode, and yet she's one of the show's most noteworthy KND operatives to not be in Sector V. Also, she's the Supreme leader of the entire KND, so that may have something to do with it.
  • Idiot Ball:
    • The non-canon episode "The Grim Adventures of the KND", for Rule of Funny has her easily deceived by Mandy and Billy's Numbuh 1 disguises no matter how obvious it is that they're impostors. Granted, practically everyone barring Numbuh 5 fell for it as well. Though to be fair, one scene has Mandy mention Rachel eventually figured out she wasn't Numbuh One off-screen, so she eventually came to her senses. Unfortunately, it was too late for her to stop Mandy.
    • Operation: Z.E.R.O. too, when the KND museum was under attack. Sector V was the closest. She ordered them to come back to the base which was also under attack but Nigel refuses till the museum was safe. Once Sector V did that as well as save the base single-handily, she chews out Nigel for disobeying orders. She does apologize later though once Grandfather is defeated, admitting if she had listened to him before, the whole mess would've never happened.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: In "Operation: I.T.", she expresses a desire to not be Soopreme Leader and live a normal life. To be fair, in her world being normal means spending all day doing whatever you want in a giant treehouse and going on exciting missions.
  • Implied Love Interest: To Numbuh 1. The amount of Ship Tease between them suggested a romantic interest between them, but it was never made explicit. That being said, it should be noted that the episode where most of the Ship Tease happened was also the episode where Lizzie, Nigel's official love interest, broke up with him.
  • Little Miss Badass: She's a young girl, the one in charge of Kids Next Door, and she was the top operative in the KND in her day. She's still no slouch, but her desk job has diminished her just slightly.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: In Operation T.R.E.A.T.Y., Chad makes it clear that she’s unaware of the existence of the Galactic Kids Next Door.
  • Meaningful Name: She's two numbers off from 360, a full circle. As in the KND revolves completely around her.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Defeats Father by eating through a wall of broccoli in "Operation: I.T.". Though to be fair, broccoli does seem to be some kind of universal kryptonite in the show.
  • Nice Girl: When she's not in the moonbase dealing with the pressures of leadership, she can actually be quite relaxed, approachable and friendly.
  • Number Two: She was second-in-command to Chad (up until his defection in "Operation: E.N.D.")
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She usually knows the right thing to do and at one point chews out Numbuh 86 for being abrasive to everyone.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Numbuh 86's red. Rachel is practical and logical in how she thinks about things while Fanny an angry Fiery Redhead. Although Rachel does have her moments of short-temperedness, too. Colour-Coded for Your Convenience as Fanny has red hair and Rachel wears a blue uniform.
  • Selective Obliviousness: For all her strengths as a leader, she does seem to succumb to this trope, mainly in regards to her brother Numbuh 363, both of whom often act as unpleasant and disrespectful and mistreat their fellow operatives. She's perfectly aware of their attitudes, but while she occassionally chews out the former for her actions, she doesn't seem to punish them anywhere near as much as she probably should.
  • She Is the King: All of her subordinates always address her as "sir." This is somewhat Truth in Television; in most military/paramilitary settings, it's usually customary address a higher up as "sir" regardless of gender.
  • Ship Tease: She is teased as being interested in Numbuh 1 in "Operation: I.T." and (more explicitly) in "Operation: G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D.".
  • Team Mom: She's barely older than Numbuh 1 and younger than Numbuh 5, but acts like a maternal figure towards the entire organization:
Numbuh 362: I don't care what level you're on, Number 105, put that video game down, and find out what Knight Brace is doing in Poughkeepsie! Would you guys mind playing Whizbee on the Whizbee deck and not on my bridge?!
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Numbuh 86's and Numbuh 3’s girly girl. Fanny is usually very loud, aggressive and confrontational, but she adopts a more fearful and verbally submissive demeanour when around her boss, clashing strongly with Rachel's stern and serious, commanding presence when they interact. Also, Rachel regularly wears a sweatshirt with a samurai-like outfit underneath while Fanny wears an orange skirt, and 86 is the one with secret girly passions like Rainbow monkey's, romances, and sleepovers.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Numbuh 362 is mainly known for being a very stern and serious, tough and logical commanding leader of the KND, behaving much like a military officer. She's also the only female operative who is usually seen wearing pants regularly and is comfortable being addressed by her fellow operatives as "sir". That being said, she shows a softer and even more vulnerable side to herself at times, often functions as the Team Mom and has been seen in skirts and other girly clothing on some occasions. Rachel was also seen wearing Rainbow Monkey slippers in Operation I.T., which suggests she has some fondness for them, albeit to a far lesser extent than Kuki or Fanny.
  • Took a Level in Badass: While she was by no means unbadass before, in Operation: I.T. she's a little out of practice in hand-to-hand combat. Then in Operation: Z.E.R.O....
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: When she attempted to retire in Operation I.T, she was clearly intending for the game to end with some other operative tagged. Father ending up in charge of the KND was clearly something she never intended and once she realizes it, she joins Numbuh 1 in stopping him.
  • Wise Beyond Her Years: Being the one in charge of the whole organization, it's expected that she's mature and intelligent for her age.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Broccoli is this like it is to everyone else in the show, but she eats her way through it and force-feeds Father some.
  • What Happened to the Mouse??: She was never physically seen again after reassigning the cake mission to Sector W (aside from being mentioned a few times.)
  • What You Are in the Dark: Shares a moment with Numbuh 1 during "CAKED FIVE". When everyone realizes that Father's latest birthday cake for the Delightful Children doubles as a space station, Numbuh 60 wants to blast it out of the sky. Numbuh 362, however, refuses as Numbuh 86 (who is not at all popular and even 362 is hinted not to like her) and Numbuh 19th Century (who should have been decommissioned a long time ago) might be on there.
  • You Have Failed Me: A non-fatal and heroic example. After Sector V fails to abscond the Delightful Children's birthday cake one too many times, she reassigns the task to her little brother Numbuh 363 (who currently has the highest mission success rate in the KND) and firmly tells Numbuh 1 he's off the case.

    Numbuh 86

Numbuh Eighty Six / Fanny Fulbright
Voiced by: Jennifer Hale

"Of all the stupid things in the stupid world of stupid people acting stupid, you boys are the stupidliest! It's like you're trying to win a stupid contest but you're too stupid to take a stupidity test!"

The former Head of Decommissioning and current Global Tactics Officer. She's a shrill girl with a particular intolerance for the male sex. But due to her behavior, she has next to no friends.

  • Alliterative Name: Fanny Fulbright.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Even though she's a boy-hater, she has a notable attraction to strong macho anti-feminine boys like Numbuh 19th Century and even admitted she had a crush on Numbuh 4 before trying to have him decommissioned with a Luminescent Blush.
  • Anti-Hero: She is the head of the Decommissioning Squad and tends to take her job rather seriously. She is also a Straw Feminist and will loudly yell at just about everyone, especially boys. However, much like Numbuh 4, she is still firmly on the hero's side and will admit when she makes a big enough screw up.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: She used to be completely boy-crazy, then something happened to her that made her hate all boys with a passion.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Numbuh Ninteenth Century, despite her hatred of boys, alternating between trading insults and privately kissing him.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Saying anything bad about girls around her is a big No-No.
    • Don't ever call her "Toots", as Numbuh 2 learned the hard way in "Operation: P.I.N.K.-E.Y.E."
    • Do not manipulate Fanny into doing your dirty work. Chad found that out the hard way when 86 immediately directed her squad at him after she found out about his little plan, and he would've been decommissioned if it hadn't been for Cree.
  • Break the Haughty: Some of her successive appearances have her dealing with the problems caused by her bad attitude, such as the fact that she has no real friends and that Numbuh 362 doesn't seem to like her very much.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Centre: Behind her violent and loud exterior lies a girl with many secret feminine interests and even a romantic side that comes out from time to time, like with Number 19th Century or even Numbuh 4.
  • Cool Helmet: A samurai-esque Bucket Helmet affair made of a colander and some padding.
  • Daddy's Girl: She has a very close relationship with her father, to the point where they're the Father/Daughter version of Sickeningly Sweethearts.
  • Daddy's Little Villain: Inverted. She's Mr. Boss's (who leads the bad guys) daughter, but while she's extremely unpleasant and feared by everyone, she's still one of the good guys' leaders.
  • Does Not Like Men: Early on, she treated boys incredibly harshly, blaming them for everything that goes wrong while giving any girl respect and accolades even if they've done nothing to deserve them. Apparently, it was because she really hates her brother. Her later characterization is more that she's a bitch to most operatives regardless of gender, though she still is slightly more antagonistic to boys.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: In a way, she's like a belligerent and intimidating military commander.
  • Easy Amnesia: In the comic story "Operation: F.O.R.G.E.T.", a mishap with the decommissioning machine turns her back to her previous, pre-KND self, making her want to hug and kiss every boy she sees. She only turns back to her old self when Numbuh 4 beans her in the head with a watermelon.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She really hates boys, but she held at least some level of respect for Maurice. "Operation: M.A.U.R.I.C.E." showed that she was genuinely saddened and even crying when she had to decommission him.
  • Fiery Redhead: She has red hair and is ill-tempered.
  • Fighting Irish: Her aggressiveness and fierce temper complement her thick Irish accent.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to her unpleasant boy-hating attitude, nobody in the KND seems to tolerate her. It's only until "Operation S.L.U.M.B.E.R." that Numbuhs 12 and 3 decide to befriend her. And even then, Numbuh 12 decides to turn traitor early.
  • Freudian Excuse: Implied in comic "Operation F.O.R.G.E.T.". After she accidentally gets decommissioned, she's shown to be a boy-loving maniac. This hints that her misandrist attitude was caused by a particular Noodle Incident.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: She loves Rainbow Monkeys as much as Numbuh 3, if not moreso, but keeps it a closely guarded secret.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She loves Rainbow Monkeys (perhaps even more than Kuki), owns a make up kit, she regularly wears a skirt, and shows a softer side sometimes. Yet, she hates boys and doesn't mind getting messy (unless it's toenail clippings).
  • Good Is Not Nice: She is extremely unpleasant and very difficult to be around, let alone work with. But she's still a KND Operative.
  • Has a Type: She has admitted to having a crush on Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 19th Century. So for all her misandry and disdain for boys, she prefers boys that hate her back.
  • Hate Sink: In-universe (in her initial appearances at least), she is basically this due to her misandristic attitude, being The Load to her own subordinates, and a bossy, loudmouthed Jerkass in general. As a result, virtually nobody in the KND tolerates her because of how unpleasant she is, barring Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 12 prior to the latter's Face–Heel Turn. Downplayed in later appearances. She's given more sympathetic and likable traits such as sometimes demonstrating remorse over decomissioning certain operatives, admitting to her faults occassionally, and getting some Character Development that makes it easier for others to be around her if not be her friends. This is still counterbalanced though by her going from a misandrist into a complete Jerkass in general, her heart of gold only showing up occassionally.
  • Hero Antagonist: Acts as one in "Operation: E.N.D.", where she decommissions Numbuhs 2 to 5 and nearly does the same to Numbuh 1. She thinks she's just doing her job, until it's revealed that she was a pawn in Chad's plan.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: She keeps it very well hidden.
  • Iconic Sequel Character: She was introduced in a Season 2 episode, and yet she's one of the show's most noteworthy KND operatives to not be in Sector V.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she generally can be jerkish, she later went from disliking boys to a just plain jerk to everyone. Before wrongfully decommissioning Numbuhs 2-5, she was pretty sadistic towards them, mockingly telling them they had no way to escape and when the process was done, they'd have no memories of the KND, their adventures, or friends. She even laughed as the process was taking place! Granted, Numbuh 86 isn't as bad as Numbuh 363, as she has shown a softer side on occasion. She also isn't entirely unreasonable; for example, after Chad's treachery was revealed, she immediately sought him out for decommissioning and apologized to Sector V after the crisis was over, even getting them recommissioned (albeit secretly, as she's normally not allowed to do that) as thanks for their aid.
  • Karma Houdini: The worst Numbuh 86 gets is being chewed out for an apt failure and her own bouts of stupidity, or personally humiliated for a comedy gag. This is in spite of the fact that some of the consequences of her actions nearly allow Chad to decommission innocent operatives without consequences, or numerous other incidents that occur from her impulsive, reckless and often-times downright stupid behavior that would get most other operatives decommissioned or at least severely punished.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In her debut episode, she spends most of her time chewing out the boys of Sector V for her own mistakes. At the end of the episode, it was a girl (her own superior) doing this to her.
  • Lawful Stupid: Her attemps to decommission Sector V in Operation E.N.D. are entirely based on what the mother computer dictates, even though she should know that the Sector V agents are nowhere close to 13 due to having known them since kindergarten.
  • Little Miss Badass: She's every bit as competent as her position suggests and, as is standard for female KND operatives, she's a girl-child who's excellent in combat.
  • The Load: Her debut episode saw her more of a hindrance to Sector V in their pursuit for the fugitive operative due to her incessant nagging and insults towards the boys.
  • Meaningful Name: '86' is a term used to indicate that something is being gotten rid of, much like how she's responsible for decommissioning agents. The name 'Fanny' means dedication, and if anything, she's super dedicated to her duties as a KND operative.
  • The Medic: A flashback to Numbuh 5's second Mission shows 86 wearing hat with a cross and checking on the injured. How she went from a medic to the head of decommissioning is not explained.
  • Morality Pet: She is Mr. Boss's daughter and his love for her and his other children is his most notable redeeming quality.
  • The Neidermeyer: Especially in her debut episode. Numbuh 86 is an incompetent, arrogant blowhard who has no respect for her subordinates, especially the male ones. Additionally, she has no tolerance for insubordination no matter how idiotic her orders are.
  • Never My Fault: Her introduction episode, in which she never takes responsibility for her own blunders that wound up hampering Sector V's efforts for the mission. Thank goodness karma kicked in when the spy she thought she captured turned out to be an undercover agent (Numbuh 362 in fact), whose mission was ruined by 86; she gets harshly chewed out for it. (For added irony, throughout most of the episode she was putting down the boys in the group for the most minor screw ups. End of the episode saw a girl doing this to her.)
  • No Indoor Voice: She yells quite often.
  • Noodle Incident: According to a canon comic, whatever made her hate boys happened after she became an operative.
  • Number Two: She's the closest thing Rachel/362 has to a second-in-command, especially after she becomes Global Tactics Officer.
  • Oireland: She has an Irish accent and red hair, both of which she shares with her brothers.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During the episode "Operation: M.A.U.R.I.C.E.", Number 86, a known boy hater who is really dedicated to her job of hunting down all KND operatives who have turned thirteen and decommissioning them, is polite and nice at Maurice's decommissioning, and then tears up. Justified, because a flashback implies that Number 86 was friends with or at least admired Maurice. Also, Maurice, unlike the other operatives she hunted down, did not betray the Kids Next Door and accepted his fate.
  • Out of Focus: With the exception of the last two specials, 86 is mostly absent from Season 6, with her only other appearance being in "Operation: W.H.I.T.E.H.O.U.S.E.", but only in a dream.
  • Pet the Dog: In episode "Operation: M.A.U.R.I.C.E.", during Maurice's decommissioning, Number 86, a known boy hater who is dedicated to her job of hunting down all KND operatives who have turned thirteen and decommissioning them, is polite and nice at Maurice's decommissioning, even crying when he is decommissioned.
  • Punny Name: She's head of decommissioning and "to eighty-six" means to eliminate/kick out or (for restaurant cooks) to take something off the menu.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: It is implied that she is in charge of decommissioning because she is already unpopular among other KND agents. However, she ends up getting promoted to Global Tactics Officer.
  • Redhead In Green: She has red hair and her usual attire is a green sweater.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Numbuh 362's blue. Fanny is a Fiery Redhead with a short fuse, while Rachel tends to be more practical and logical about things and generally keeps her cool more often. Although Rachel does have her moments of short-temperedness, too. Colour-Coded for Your Convenience as Fanny has red hair and Rachel wears a blue uniform.
  • Riddle for the Ages: What happened to her that made her hate boys, and how did she go from a medic to head of decommissioning for the KND?
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Numbuh 86 is expressly forbidden from recommissioning operatives, and Numbuh 362 would almost never allow it. Apparently, she knew the Recommissioning Module was operational and due to the grievous error of decommissioning Sector V in "Operation: E.N.D.", decided to recommission them. Doing so meant she'd be going behind Numbuh 362's back, and the latter was rather disappointed after finding this out in "Operation: Z.E.R.O.".
  • Shout-Out: She's very likely a Shout-Out to iconic James Bond-villainess Rosa Klebb/Number Three from From Russia with Love - another high-ranking red-headed man-hating operative with a grating accent and a grudge against a suave British agent.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: She puts up a rude and aggressive front, but "Operation: S.L.U.M.B.E.R." implies that she's actually sad and lonely.
  • Straw Feminist: Her initial characterization had her as incredibly misandristic as a way to make her look unsympathetic.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Fanny often complains that Sector V constantly goofs up anything she orders them to do, even picking a pizza order.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl:
    • But the girly girl to Numbuh 5's tomboy (Fanny who acts mean but has a lot of hidden girly traits and HATES boys vs Abby who doesn't like many girly things and is One of the Boys).
    • Numbuh 86 is also the girly girl to Numbuh 362's tomboy. Fanny's usual aggressive and loud spoken traits tend to get downplayed whenever she's around Rachel. Numbuh 86 generally becomes more worrysome, verbally submissive and even fearful in the supreme leader's presence. This contrasts with Rachel's stern and serious, commanding demeanour whenever the two interact. Also, Fanny wears an orange skirt while Rachel wears a sweatshirt with a blue samurai-like outfit underneath, and 86 is the one who has secret girly passions like Rainbow monkey's, romances and sleepovers.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Zig-zagged with Took a Level in Kindness. Some of her later appearances do reveal she has a soft centre behind the violent and hostile exterior, but at the same time, her hostile attitude extended from just boys to pretty much everyone besides her Soopreme Leader later on.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She is deathly afraid of toenail clippings.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: In "Operation: S.L.U.M.B.E.R.", she becomes friends with Numbuh 12 during their slumber party, but it turns out that Numbuh 12 is actually a traitor and is just using her to get the KND Code Module for the teens.
Numbuh 86: Numbuh 12... (a background appears behind her filled with broken hearts) ...why?!
  • Youthful Freckles: She's a child with freckles.

A Kids Next Door desk operative who frequently delivers mission specs to Sector V. He works on the Moon Base.

Voiced by: Matt Levin

"Numbuh 60 reporting for duty!"

The boy in charge of training new recruits at Kids Next Door Arctic Base, he cuts no slack with new recruits.

  • Dangerous Deserter: With Numbuh 362, the GKND consider them fugitives on the run. Special mention to be made that they consider Numbuh 60 to be especially dangerous.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: The kid-friendly version of R. Lee Ermey.
  • Lantern Jaw of Justice: You can see on his picture that he has quite a cleft chin for a kid who's probably around 10.
  • Large Ham: If the following quote is any indication:
    • Numbuh 60: "To the MOOOOOOOON!"
  • Meaningful Name: Patton refers to the famous World War II general. The last name is obvious. His number and first name are also references to the M60 Patton Main Battle Tank.
  • Not So Stoic: Most of the time he's very stern and stoic, but when Numbuh 4 tricks the Toiletnator into going into a cave filled with lions, he thinks it's hilarious.
  • Wise Beyond His Years: Considering how someone his age can give military training to other kids as well as how stern and mature he mostly is.

Numbuh Seventy Four Point Two Three Nine

Voiced by: Dave Wittenberg

"If you honor what your friends are fighting for, you'll make that sacrifice."

A high-ranking Kids Next Door scientist. His technology is what keeps the KND running.

  • Alien Among Us: A member of the Galactic Kids Next Door, his human form simply being some sort of disguise.
  • Ambiguously Evil: With all the subterfuge and behind the scenes manipulation, it's hard to know what he's up to. In the April fools teaser the GKND all advocate for destroying Earth, Chad advocates for saving it, whilst 74.239 simply states that it's Numbuh 1's decision.
  • Ambiguously Human: The Grand Finale of the original series reveals he works for the Galactic Kids Next Door, but it's not stated whether or not he's human. The teaser for Galactic Kids Next Door shows he's actually an alien.
  • Consummate Liar: It is hinted, he is telling Numbuh 1 half-truths and lies just to cover up the Galactic Kids Next Door's villainy and true motives.
  • Mad Scientist/The Smart Guy: Is one of the leading science officers for the Kids Next Door, and apparently was the main tech guy for the Galactic KND before being assigned to observe Earth.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Part of the "splinter cell".
  • Plant Aliens: His true form is an alien resembling a small tree.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Along with Numbuh Infinity, he is manipulating Numbuh 1 into joining the GKND and become a pawn in their plans to rid the universe of all adults.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's the only one of the Galactic KND who vouches Numbuh 1 during his trial in the April Fools trailer.
  • Teleportation: In "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S.", it's revealed he can teleport himself and others by picking his nose and shaking hands with someone after doing so if he intends to bring someone with him.
  • TV Genius: Large vocabulary, nerdy traits, a bit eccentric. He certainly qualifies as a stereotypical genius.
  • Walking Spoiler: Whilst he was a semi-important recurring character for most of the series, it's through him we learn more about the Mysterious Splinter cell. Then comes his brief appearance in the April fools trailer, and what we learn from there changes everything.

"Mr. Uno will find out what he's been chosen for in due time..."

A high-ranking KND official whose first and only appearance is in the penultimate episode, Operation T.R.E.A.T.Y. He sets up the treaty intended to stop the hostilities between the KND and the Teenagers, which turns out to be a trap by the Teenagers. Due to him having Numbuh 1 arrested along with 274, the rest of Sector V believes him to be a traitor to the KND. He is eventually revealed to have been fooled as well. He is in fact a member of the splinter cell, and liaison to the Galactic Kids Next Door.

  • Alien Among Us: Entering his name into the galactic database for the GKND ARG displays "Earth Missioned [sic] Complete", the same as Numbuh 74.239. This hints that he, too, is actually a Galactic Kids Next Door operative.
  • All There in the Manual: Patrick Warburton revealed the reasoning behind his number via a fan forum. Namely, he chose the number "Infinity" because he needs to have infinite patience to be a diplomat.
  • Ambiguously Human: Given that Numbuh 74.239 isn't human, there's a good chance he isn't as well.
  • Corrupt Politician: As the ambassador of the KND, he holds a lot of power in the organization, and isn't afraid to use his power for his own agendas. He gets Numbuh 1 thrown into the Arctic Prison with Chad just by telling Numbuh 86 that he was attacked by Numbuh 1 and Chad, threatens to throw the rest of Sector V there just for trying to talk to Numbuh 362 before the treaty, and tried extorting more ice cream out of Numbuh 48 Flavors just because he could. And while the former can be argued as necessary for his mission as a Galactic Kids Next Door agent, the latter two are just him flaunting his power cause he can.
  • Expy: His appearance, plus his connection to the Galactic KND, all bring to mind Agent J from Men in Black.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: His response to Numbuh 48 Flavor's plan to rip the ship they are currently on in two, where nearly every KND operative and teenager on the planet is?
(straightens tie) This calls for some diplomacy. (clears throat) GET 'IM! (points at 48 Flavors as 4/5ths of Sector V charges)
  • Walking Spoiler: His appearance in the show closes several important plotlines and introduces the finale. Heck, some of the trope names are spoilery by themselves.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After he and Chad reveal to Numbuh 1 that there is no Splinter Cell, the two of them vanish, Numbuh 1's narration stating neither were seen again. While Chad would eventually be revealed to be a prisoner of the GKND trying to stop Numbuh 1 from doing something to Earth, and fellow GKND operatives Numbuh 74.239 and Vine were shown to have returned to the GKND, there's no sign of Numbuh Infinity. The only clue is that, like Numbuhs 74.239 and Vine, the galactic database states his "Earth Mission" was completed, but unlike theirs, his has a "[sic]", suggesting this to be an error and his mission isn't complete yet.

"What? I don't like the dark."

A young, new operative and only female member of Sector W. She went through her KND operative training with Tommy and Lee.

  • Badass Adorable: She's so cute and endearing and capable of beating Mr. Boss once he triggers her Berserk Button.
  • Berserk Button: If she's exposed to dark places for too long, or if someone even threatens to do it to her, she will unleash a fit of rage.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Timid and kind-hearted, but if she's exposed to her fear of the dark, she goes absolutely berserk.
  • Cowardly Lion: Despite being timid and deathly afraid of the dark, she's the one who actually convinces Tommy and Lee to help stop Father from stealing the Code Module rather than escape.
  • The Cutie: She's an endearing little girl.
  • First-Name Basis: She and Lee address each other by their first names.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She's a Girly Girl who keeps her hair in pigtails.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Blonde, and was perfectly willing to lose the scavenger hunt so Sector V could.
  • Nice Girl: A sweet and innocent little girl.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Nice to Numbuh 363's Mean and Numbuh 84's Inbetween.
  • Only One Name: Only her first name is known, which is Sonia.
  • Primal Fear: She's terrified of the dark and will not go into the dark so easily.
  • Ship Tease: She and Lee/Numbuh 84 are often teased as being a couple.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She is the only female member of Sector W.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: She rightfully calls Numbuh 363 out on being more concerned about winning the scavenger hunt than being saved by Sector V.
  • When She Smiles: Doesn't smile much, but she does have her moments of happiness.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Is scared of the dark, but keep her in it for too long, though, and she'll kick your butt for it.

Numbuh Three Sixty Three/Harvey McKenzie

"Don't touch me! Don't ever touch me!"

Numbuh 362's younger brother and the leader of Sector W. Unfortunately, he is not very nice to them.

  • The Ace: His sister mentions how Sector W under his leadership has had the highest mission success rate, despite being comprised of recent KND graduates. He becomes a Broken Ace due to his abrasive nature and overreaction at being touched.
  • All for Nothing: He is made leader of Sector W by his sister and given the mission to retrieve the Delightful Children's cake in place of Sector V. His reward? Losing the scavenger hunt Numbuh 74.239 set up and getting decommissioned a month later.
  • Ascended Extra: He went from having a small role in Operation: Z.E.R.O. to having a larger one in the Grand Finale.
  • Bad Boss: He isn't very nice to the other members of his sector.
  • Berserk Button: Whenever someone touches him, he loses it.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: It goes without saying that this little kid is an obnoxious and ill-mannered asshole. Justified, since he's seven years old.
  • The Bully: He picks on the other members of Sector W when they refuse to follow his orders.
  • Cool Helmet: He wears an impressive Bucket Helmet like his older sister.
  • Dirty Coward: He was perfectly willing to leave Sector V at the mercy of Father if it meant winning the scavenger hunt and getting the Delightful Children's birthday cake.
  • Establishing Character Moment: The instant he reappears in the finale, he is shown to be a Bratty Half-Pint, though his debut in Operation: Z.E.R.O. also had him showing shades of being an unpleasant brat.
  • Foil:
    • To Numbuh 1. They're both leaders of their own sectors. Unfortunately, while Numbuh 1 is a Benevolent Boss, Numbuh 363 proves to be a Bad Boss to his only two operatives.
    • He is also this to Numbuh 86, as both are unpleasant and rude. However, while Numbuh 86 is more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Numbuh 363 lacks the heart of gold.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Despite the fact that Numbuh 363 is the leader of Sector W and, under his leadership, has had the highest mission success rate, despite being comprised of recent KND graduates, his teammates dislike him because of his rudeness and insistence on being treated with respect just for being Numbuh 362's brother. While they are content with following his lead, they are unsure about how ruthless Numbuh 363 was during the scavenger hunt and getting the Delightful Children's birthday cake, where he was willing to leave Sector V at the mercy of Father if it meant winning the scavenger hunt and getting the Delightful Children's birthday cake. The breaking point for his teammates is when Numbuh 363 celebrates his victory over Father's pipe rather than thanking Numbuh 1 for saving his life; this is the last straw for Numbuh 83 and Numbuh 84 since he nearly got his team killed over trying to get it and had to be bailed out by Sector V, Number 83 promptly calls him out over it, takes the pipe, and hands it over to Sector V to complete the hunt. It was implied that Numbuh 363 is disliked by the whole Kids Next Door organization, and he only tolerated it because his sister is the leader; a month later, when his sister was replaced by Number 5 as the leader, he was decommissioned because he freaked out whenever someone touched him.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Even though he's a KND operative, he is even more unpleasant than Numbuh 86, and is rather egotistical to boot.
  • Hates Being Touched: His number one weakness is that he really doesn't like being touched. It's for this reason that Numbuh 5 has him decommissioned before he even reaches the age of thirteen.
  • Hate Sink: Unlike most of the characters on the show, he is hated by virtually everybody in-universe (as well as out-universe) for his selfish, arrogant, disrespectful attitude towards Sector V (and possibly other KND operatives in general besides his sister) and how he treats his own sector badly. He even makes Numbuh 86 seem nice by comparison. This makes it all the more satisfying when Numbuh 83 goes off on him, Numbuh 84 stuffs his yo-yo in his mouth, and he even gets decommissioned the following month by Numbuh 5 for his aforementioned unpleasant behavior.
  • Humiliation Conga: Loses the scavenger hunt Numbuh 74.239 set up to retrieve the cake. According to adult Numbuh Five, he was also decommissioned the following month; not only because of his bad behavior, but because he freaked out whenever someone touched him.
  • Insufferable Genius: Possibly. He is an egotistical little brat, but he's the leader of the sector with the highest mission success rate in the entire Kids Next Door. However, this could mean that it's his team members who are efficient at completing missions, not him.
  • It's All About Me: His selfishness is evidenced by his tirade on how every operative will ask for his autograph. He even says he is the future of the Kids Next Door.
  • Jerkass: Badmouths Sector V right in front of his sister during his Establishing Character Moment. He later competes in the scavenger hunt not just win the cake, but seemingly also so he can beat and humiliate Sector V.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Even though he insults Sector V for their constant failures to retrieve the Delightful Children’s birthday cake, he is right about them screwing up. He even says that his sister thinks they're getting "too old" to handle the big missions.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: It is suspected the only reason someone as intolerable and selfish as Harvey lasted in the KND for so long was because he was related to Numbuh 362, who was the Supreme Leader. Some time after the events of the finale, Rachel was replaced and Numbuh 5 took over the KND, and her first act was to have him decommissioned.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Without question the meanest Kids Next Door operative, as well as one of the meanest kids, shown in the series.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After losing the scavenger hunt, he also loses his position as leader of Sector W and gets decommissioned for his bad behavior.
  • Last Episode, New Character: Made his first proper appearance in the series finale, "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S."
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Mean to Numbuh 83's Nice and Numbuh 84's Inbetween.
  • The Rival: To Numbuh 1 in his mission for the Delightful Children's cake.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: He thinks that because he is Numbuh 362's brother means he has to be treated with respect. Heck, Numbuhs 1 and 4 are restrained by their peers from attacking him because of his connections!
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: While Numbuh 362 can be stern and harsh at times, she means well and is all-in-all a good leader, and is highly respected by her peers. Numbuh 363 is NOT this, at all. Nobody can stand him, he's selfish and petty, Sector W certainly wouldn't call him a good leader, and he is not respected by his fellow operatives.
  • Skewed Priorities: A non-comedic example. After Numbuh 1 subdues Father with the B.E.A.R.H.U.G.G.A.H., he orders everyone to get out while they still can. Instead, not only does Numbuh 363 still try to take Father’s pipe, he actually sticks around just to rub his victory in Numbuh 1’s face, completely forgetting that Father is still in the room with them, could break free at any moment, and will undoubtedly kill him for trying to steal his pipe. Numbuh 1 goes out of his way to save his life and he’s still only fixated on his victory. This ends up being the last straw for his teammates, who call him out on this and his ingratitude towards Sector V before they take the pipe from him and give it to Numbuh 1.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Needless to say, having a connection to the higher command of the K.N.D means nothing if everyone in the organization hates your attitude, you put your team in unnecessary danger, and promptly keep flying off the handle just for being touched. Ultimately, he ended up decommissioned once his sister is no longer Supreme Leader and nobody could take his brattiness anymore.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Or rather leader of Sector W. Not necessarily evil, but a Jerkass who belittles others.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He decided it was a good idea for a pint-size such as himself to go after the most valuable item in the scavenger hunt. Father's pipe. All the while completely ignoring that he has no experience dealing with Father and failing to consider that he'll be painting a huge target on his back by stealing his prized possession. This was universally considered to be such a horrendous idea that Numbuh One was asked if he was going to Harvey's funeral even before he attempted the mission. Even worse, when Numbuh 1 subdues Father with the B.E.A.R.H.U.G.G.A.H. and orders everyone to get out while they still can, Numbuh 363 instead sticks around to take the pipe and rub his victory in Numbuh 1's face, completely forgetting that Father is still in the room, could break free at any moment, and will undoubtedly kill him for stealing his pipe.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: In his debut in Operation Z.E.R.O., he's among the junior operatives looking at Numbuh 1 with admiration when he makes his entrance, which contrasts his characterization in I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S., in which he becomes an insufferable prick towards Nigel (as well as the other Sector V members and his own teammates). Although, it's more likely that his character design was used to fill out the crowd, and that his Jerkass personality was developed by the writers later on.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Rather than thank Numbuh 1 for saving his life, he celebrates his victory about Father's pipe. This is the last straw for Numbuh 83 and Numbuh 84 since he nearly got his team killed over trying to get it and had to be bailed out by Sector V (who despite having replaced them for the cake mission, have experience in dealing with Father). 83 promptly calls him out over it, takes the pipe, and hands it over to Sector V to complete the hunt.
  • Youthful Freckles: He has freckles to demonstrate his immaturity.

Other Agents

Numbuh One-Love
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/numbuh1love.jpg
Voiced by: Keith Ferguson

Leader of Sector J, a team of Kids Next Door operatives based in Jamaica.

  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: In his first appearance, he comes across as just a fun-loving kid who spends all his time partying, but in "Operation I.T." not only is he one of the few operatives who isn't panicking, but the one operative who did try to tag him quickly found himself facing the business end of a S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R. And he does it without bothering to get up from his chair, remove his headphones or even face the unlucky operative.
Numbuh One-Love: Don't even try it, mon.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Eats a pie baked by Lizzie and proclaims it to be good. Keep in mind that earlier, Numbuh 2 (who is himself an Extreme Omnivore capable of stomaching and enjoying the cooking of Grandma Stuffum) was knocked unconscious after taking just one bite from the same pie.
  • Going Commando: "Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." reveals that he and the other members of Sector J don't wear underwear when he explains how they were able to successfully capture a Wedgiesaurus Rex.
  • Shout-Out: His codename is a reference to the Bob Marley song "One Love".

A skunk that Numbuhs 2 and 3 took under their wing since "Operation: C.A.M.P.". After foiling Chester's plan of making a work camp out of an actual kid's camp, he is inducted into the Kids Next Door as an honorary member. After getting critically injured by a truck when attempting to spy on Cree, Numbuh 2 upgrades him into half-skunk, half-robot R.O.B.O.-B.R.A.D.L.E.Y. in "Operation: H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L.".

  • Badass Adorable: Especially as Robo-Bradley.
  • Cyborg: Is rebuilt into one by Numbuh 2 after taking serious injuries.
  • Happily Adopted: By Numbuhs 2 and 3.
  • Honorary True Companion: After saving the KND from their first encounter with Chester, he becomes Numbuh 6.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: He's an adorable baby skunk with blue eyes.
  • Killer Rabbit: His diminutive size belies how aggressive he can be. Not as much as his parents though.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: How Numbuh 2 describes the result of his operation in "Operation: H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L."
Numbuh 2: Not just any skunk! I've transformed Numbuh 6 into a half-skunk, half-Kids Next Door operative, half-butt-kicking machine known as... R.O.B.O.B.R.A.D.L.E.Y.!
  • Pet Baby Wild Animal: Adopted out of the wild. Initially seems like a bad idea, but then he saves them all.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Comes with being a baby skunk.
  • Sixth Ranger: Technically, he is this to Sector V, even being designated Numbuh 6. However, he doesn't really appear often enough to quite fit this role.
  • Smelly Skunk: Exaggerated, since he's just a baby.
  • Team Pet: Before fully becoming a member of the team.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After receiving his robotic upgrades, naturally. His first action after waking up from his operations is to handily deliver a one-sided defeat to Cree.
  • Too Many Halves: Numbuh Two's description of him after transforming him into a cyborg is "a half skunk, half Kids Next Door operative, half butt-kicking machine".
  • We Can Rebuild Him: After being mortally wounded in "Operation: H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L.", Numbuh 2 saves his life by turning him into a cyborg.
  • You Are Number 6: Literally. A number is used as his name and it's six.

Voiced by: Kim Mai Guest

Leader of Sector L and a news anchorman for the KND Nightly News. She is Numbuh 1's cousin who appeared in Operation: COUCH and HOLIDAY.

  • Head-Turning Beauty: Noted by many to be extremely attractive. Even the Galactic KND archives list her as "hawt".
  • Kent Brockman News: Thanks to the Straight Man and Wise Guy dynamic between herself and the KNN Anchorman as stated below, the KND Nightly News is this.
  • Long-Lost Relative: She's Numbuh 1's long-lost cousin.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Lizzie initially assumed that Numbuh 1 was cheating on her with Numbuh 10 before it was revealed they were cousins.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: She and the Anchorman of the KND Nightly News. A lot of their time on the air seems to be him as the jokester with bad taste while she appears to be irritated by his gags.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: Inverted. She sports one of these when on the air but otherwise her appearance and personality make her come across as quite feminine.

Numbuh 13

Voiced by: Billy West

A member of Sector N who is extremely accident-prone, clumsy and moronic, to the point that his own sector celebrates when he's captured by the adults.

  • 13 Is Unlucky: He is Numbuh 13 for a reason.
  • Ambiguously Jewish: He talks with a Jewish accent.
  • Annoying Laugh: As befitting the rest of his personality.
  • Butt-Monkey: He’s a clumsy dimwit who can’t do anything right, and everyone hates him, to the point that Sector V and Numbuh 13’s teammates are happy when he gets kidnapped by the adults.
  • The Dreaded: To his fellow KND operatives, though this is not due to intimidation on his part as much as everyone knowing the headache that's in store coming with his presence. He has a reputation for being a useless buffoon, and all the members of Sector V (except Numbuh 3) are horrified when they see they’re stuck with him.
  • Foil: To the Toilenator. Both are yellow-wearing, imbecilic bumblers who their organizations can't stand, but they still manage to differ in several ways. Ironically, Toilenator has the more respectable qualities under his belt:
    • Toilenator is ultimately a well-meaning guy whose screw-ups are not just completely unintentional, but he is painfully aware of how much of a loser he is and is motivated by wanting to prove himself to his fellow villains, especially Mr. Boss, who he treats as a sort of father-figure. 13 by contrast screws up constantly without any self-awareness and doesn't aspire to be anything more, smugly believing himself to be the KND’s best operative and blaming his mistakes on other agents.
    • Toilenator gets several moments to show that when he buckles down and has motivation/a plan, he can go toe-to-toe with much tougher opponents (even groups of them). And as much as he's disliked, the villains often include him more often than not in meetings and team-ups and show him kindness from time to time (while mainly to get rid of 13, the trade where he debuts proves the villains would rather have Toilenator on their side than not) because he ultimately means very well. 13 is a useless detriment through and through, no one wants him around, and he has absolutely zero skill or moments that show that his incompetence and arrogance can be overcome.
    • Toilenator actually is able to succeed in what he sets out to do, such as ruining the biggest bowl of cereal the KND were setting up (its just that he beat Mr. Boss to the punch), and invading the Treehouse (mistaking the villains for Sector V in disguise because they had raided their belongings), and typically fails because he doesn't have all the details from other villains. 13 generally has all the details he needs in an attempt to make him less of a burden, but it's genuinely useless due to him being the way he is.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Being as clumsy and Lethally Stupid as he is, Numbuh 13 is considered a burden not just by his own sector, but the KND as a whole. It kind of makes you wonder why he doesn’t get decommissioned altogether.
  • Geek: He’s a klutzy kid with buckteeth, braces, a high-pitched, nasally voice, and big, round glasses.
  • Goofy Buckteeth: He has big buckteeth.
  • Hated by All: Numbuh 13 is the single most despised member of the KND that isn't an outright antagonist or a Jerkass, to the point that the whole Kids Next Door organization hates him. The villains hate him, too, to the point that they don’t even want him as a hostage.
    • In his first appearance, when Sector V was sent to trade the Toilenator for Numbuh 13 because he had important info for a mission, they were unhappy that they received him because of his reputation as an obnoxious screw-up. Numbuh 3 was willing to give Numbuh 13 the benefit of the doubt, only for him to immediately prove that all the stories about him were true. Numbuh 13 is useless on missions, being incompetent and uncoordinated, but also lacks self-awareness and can be arrogant and overconfident, causing unnecessary problems and harm to Sector V. Eventually, Numbuh 1 tries to bring him back to his team, Sector N, and it is clear that his teammates are happy he’s gone, and when they're asked to take him back, they fake being under attack, hang up, and pretend to be a Mexican restaurant when Sector V calls them again. Eventually, when Numbuh 13 accidentally gets himself recaptured by the adults, Sector V is relieved to be rid of him, and the adults are unhappy to have him back, having previously traded him for The Toiletnator, who they similarly can't stand. During the end credits, Numbuh 4 says that he didn’t help them at all and Numbuh 3 calls Numbuh 13 a "loser".
    • In the episode "Operation I.T.", Number 362 resigned as the supreme leader, so the whole Kids Next Door organization played a game of tag to find the new leader. No one wanted the position because of the great responsibilities, except for Numbuh 13; when he is tagged and happily declares himself to be the Soopreme Leader, he's immediately dogpiled by a number of operatives; despite how unpopular the position is, they were even less happy about the thought of having him as the leader, and were willing to risk becoming Soopreme Leader just so he wouldn't get the job.
    • If his interaction with the hotdog vendor in "Operation: I.T." is any indication, just about anyone unlucky enough to cross paths with him will end up being driven crazy.
    • Even the Galactic KND doesn't respect Numbuh 13, as when you type his codename into their archives, the response just reads "seriously?".
  • I Reject Your Reality / Small Name, Big Ego: Sooper Secrets and Boomerang Bloopers depicts Numbuh 13 as having a ludicrously high opinion of himself and believing himself to be the KND’s best operative, contradicting the reality of there being nothing to back that up. He brags about being the smartest, the strongest, the bravest, etc.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: Not only is he completely incompetent and uncoordinated, but he’s arrogant and sometimes blames his mistakes on his teammates.
  • Jewish and Nerdy: He’s a dorky kid with a Jewish accent.
  • The Jinx: He causes more trouble for his teammates than the villains do.
  • The Klutz: His defining character trait; a massively clumsy kid who breaks everything he touches.
  • Lethally Stupid: Well, as much as you can get away with in a children's cartoon, anyway, but he is a Walking Disaster Area and incompetent to the Nth degree, which are humongous no-nos in a spy agency.
  • The Load: He serves this role for whatever team is unfortunate enough to be working with him. When he teamed up with Sector V in his first appearance, he was completely useless and did nothing but cause problems for them.
  • Meaningful Name: His codename/number is this, as the number 13 is associated with bad luck, which he has plenty of. Downplayed in that due to his own incompetence, some of the misfortune he receives, or inflicts on others, is his own fault and not because of bad luck.
  • The Millstone: Absolutely useless on missions, and completely clueless about it.
  • Nerdy Nasalness: He has a nasally, high-pitched voice to go along with his nerdy appearance.
  • Never My Fault: Oblivious to his own screw-ups, he often blames them on someone else.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: In Operation I.T, he's the only operative who's fine with being "it" and thus the new Soopreme Leader. He's immediately dogpiled by every other operative there, since him being in charge would get the KND destroyed within minutes, and they'd rather get stuck with the job themselves.
    • The Galactic KND archives just reads "seriously?" when his name is entered. Yes, not even the Galactic Kids Next Door respects him.
  • Only One Finds It Fun: The sole operative willing to be head of the entire Kids Next Door organization. Of course, his cohorts are even less willing to allow that.
  • The Scapegoat: In the comic story, "Operation: S.M.U.G.G.L.E.", Numbuh 1 brings him along on a mission with himself, Numbuh 2, and Numbuh 4 to smuggle corndogs into America (since Mr. Fizz had made it illegal for American children to eat them) and let Numbuh 13 have one. When Mr. Fizz came to inspect their boat, his men didn’t find any, except the corndog Numbuh 13 had, so Fizz arrested him. Numbuh 1 planned from the beginning to use Numbuh 13 as a scapegoat and have him apprehended by Fizz, so his bumbling would keep Fizz too preoccupied to stop Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5, who were transporting the corndogs in a different boat (though the plan failed because Numbuh 3 ate them all).
  • Too Dumb to Live: He starts banging on the C.O.O.L.B.U.S.’ buttons while it’s in the air, causing it to crash. Thank goodness Sector V had parachutes. Later, while Numbuh 2 is flying the S.C.A.M.P.E.R., he crashes that, too, by pushing a button to find out what it does, even though Numbuh 2 told him not to. He’s also not even smart enough to tie his shoes, judging by his shoelaces, which are always untied.

    Numbuh 19th Century
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screen_shot_2021_11_16_at_50139_pm.png

Numbuh Nineteenth Century

A Kids Next Door operative from the 19th century who was frozen because of an ice cream explosion while trying to steal the recipe for the Annoyingly Cute Triplets Who Lived Upon the Hill's birthday cake. He gets thawed out in modern times, but ends up having to be decommissioned because he's technically not a child anymore.

  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: He is insulted when his shoulder-length hair and beribboned sailor suit cause Father to mistake him for a girl.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Having been frozen since the 19th century, he's clearly having trouble adjusting to the modern world. Typing his name in the secret password screen of the Rainbow Monkeys website even triggers the message that he "needs to get with the times".
  • Human Popsicle: He was frozen in ice cream until he thawed out in the present day.
  • Old-School Chivalry: He tells Numbuh 86 that in his time he was renowned for his gentlemanly behavior toward girls and was "quite the dandy" operative.
  • Opposites Attract: Ends up falling for Numbuh 86, who Does Not Like Men.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: As expected from a person who lived during the 19th century, he has outdated views on girls and he doesn't take well to learning that they are allowed in the Kids Next Door. Granted, it's mainly because he's concerned about them getting hurt.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: At one point angers Numbuh 86 by ordering her to make him food.

How he first appears in A.R.C.T.I.C

His true appearance

Numbuh 30C

An operative from Sector H, who masquerades as an arctic expert despite actually being from Hawaii. The first non-Sector V operative to appear in the series.

  • Everyone Has Standards: When most of Sector V gets hit by the "nude torpedo" because of him, which happens to blow their clothes off, even he is awkwardly embarrassed at realizing what he just did.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Inverted, despite returning to Hawaii after his first appearance, he still wears his thick fuzzy boots, which would be sweltering in Hawaii.
  • Foreshadowing: His debut episode drops a lot of hints about his real personality before The Reveal.
    • As mentioned via Meaningful Name, the C in his name stands for celsius. As he points out during his Motive Rant, that would more accurately be roughly 80 degrees fahrenheit.*
Numbuh 30C: Oh come on! Even my name should have given it away! Numbuh 30 C! 30 celsius, duh! That is like, 80 degrees fahrenheit or something you dopes!
      Numbuh 5: Aw, metric stinks.
    • When giving directions to Numbuh 2, he tells him to "maintain course" and they should reach their destination within a few hours. When Numbuh 2 realizes they rushed right past the lab however less than a minute later, 30C gaslights him by saying Numbuh 2 put in the wrong coordinates.
    • When asked what it's like in the Arctic, he gives some incorrect information, saying he wrestles polar bears over territory, sleeps on glaciers to keep warm, and eats fish blubber. Polar bears aren't territorial, sleeping on a glacier doesn't increase body heat, and fish can't have blubber since they aren't mammals.
    • When he asks Numbuh 4 for a soda, he specifically says a mango flavored one. Mangoes aren't found in the arctic, but Mango Trees do grow in more tropical locations such as Hawaii.
    • When Numbuh 1 calls him to fire the Nude Torpedos, he initially ignores him until Numbuh 4 goes to answer, quickly placing the blame on him, and then knocks Numbuh 4 aside when he tries to fire the torpedos, aiming them himself, making sure to just miss the Professor and hit Sector V instead, then lies to Numbuh 4 claiming he got him.
    • When he fires the torpedos, he mutters "Aloha baby" to himself. Aloha is a traditional Hawaiian word, hinting at the fact he's actually from Hawaii's Sector H.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: He wears a pair of goggles over his eyes at all times, the one time his eyes actually being seen being when Numbuh 4 pulled them off his face and let them snap back. While they initially gave the impression of snow goggles to fit with his disguise, once he reveals his true nature it becomes clear they're more akin to scuba goggles.
  • Meaningful Name: The C in his name stands for celsius, cluing people outside the U.S in that he's not who he says he is.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: His interference leads to another Mad Scientist succeeding in his scheme.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Due to a mixup, he was operating under the idea that Sector V was out to sabotage Professor XXX-L's perfect snow cone project, when they were actually trying to defeat a completely different mad scientist working from the north pole (his scheme was to speed up global warming so there wouldn't be any more snow days for kids).
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only shows up for a single episode and never again for the rest of the series beyond The Cameo. But he's the first non-Sector V Operative of the Kids Next Door to appear in the entire series, setting the stage for Sector V going from "the" K.N.D. to being only one of many sectors of it.
  • Surfer Dude: His true personality once he returned to Sector H, being rather laid back and addressing others as "dude".

The following character's existence was revealed in the GKND teaser video. Spoilers are unmarked.

    Numbuh Vine (MASSIVE SPOILERS!)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/latest_7.jpg
Numbuh Vine/Numbuh C55H72O5N4Mg/Elizabeth "Lizzie" Devine

A botanical alien, and an operative of the Galactic Kids Next Door organization. She's first seen contacting Numbuhs 3 and 4 in the GKND teaser video to warn them about an impending threat to Earth.

...And then her human disguise accidentally activates, revealing that Numbuh Vine is the true form of Lizzie Devine. Thus, everything you thought you knew about Lizzie is flipped completely on its head.

  • Aliens Among Us: Throughout the whole series, Lizzie was an alien masquerading as a human. This was hinted at in the Galactic Kids Next Door ARG Database, where entering Lizzie's name returns the message "Earth Mission Complete," the same as Numbuh 74.239 and Numbuh Infinity, both of whom are confirmed liaisons to/members of the Galactic Kids Next Door, and the former of whom is a Plant Alien. The teaser video confirmed it when Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 witness Numbuh Vine's Lizzie disguise being activated by mistake.
  • Badass Normal: Provides a subversion for Lizzie. She's both a high-level operative and an alien when she appeared to just be a normal human in the original series.
  • Becoming the Mask: One possible way to interpret her leaking the GKND's intentions to Numbuhs 3 and 4 depending on whether you think she was entirely unaware of the possibility of Earth's destruction in the first place, she's grown to like humans or if she was always more considerate than her fellow GKND operatives. It's also possible she fell in love with Nigel for real.
  • Canon Character All Along: She and Lizzie are the same person.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: She's not happy upon finding out Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 posted the video ahead of schedule.
Numbuh Vine: IDIOTS! You weren't supposed to post the video until AFTER THE COUNTDOWN ENDS!!
  • Everyone Has Standards: Although Numbuh Vine is and always has been an undercover Galactic Kids Next Door operative their plans for Earth are apparently so terrifying she immediately tells Numbuhs 3 and 4 to get absolutely everyone off Earth before they arrive. Shortly afterwards lasers can be seen shooting at her before the transmission cuts off.
  • Foreshadowing: Her real identity is foreshadowed throughout the series:
    • There's multiple times late in the series demonstrating that she seems to be more savvy than a civilian would normally be about some of these things.
    • Lizzie's negative counterpart Eizzil worked with the DNK. As it turns out Lizzie had actually been a KND operative the whole time (just not one from Earth).
    • Perhaps one of the more blatant is her having 2x4 technology readily available for her school locker robot of the L.O.C.K.A.H.S.O.C.K.A.H. in "Operation: L.U.N.C.H.". Only Kids Next Door technology and things affiliated with it like Robo-Bradley get such designations.
  • Interspecies Romance: Her relationship with Nigel retroactively qualifies as being between individuals of different species since Nigel is human and she's actually a plant alien.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Possibly provides a subversion for Lizzie. With the revelation of Lizzie's true nature as a GKND operative, it's likely that her romance with Nigel was all a test to confirm his absolute loyalty to the KND and that she "broke up" with him because she had successfully determined that he does prioritize the KND above all else.
  • Lethal Chef: Provides a justification for Lizzie. Since she's an extraterrestrial botanical life form who would nourish herself in a completely different way she'd naturally be terrible at preparing human food.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Provides another justification for Lizzie. Since GKND operatives are the best operatives from their respective planets she was always a badass in disguise.
  • The Load: Provides an extreme subversion for Lizzie. Since she was a GKND operative the whole time any appearance of uselessness was faked.
  • Meaningful Name: She's a plant and her disguise name is Lizzie Devine. Even deeper, "Numbuh Vine" is just a nickname for ease of calling - her actual designation Numbuh C55H72O5N4Mg is comprised of the chemical formula for chlorophyll. This means "Devine" is actually a "kidified" pronunciation of "The Vine", very similar to the KND's convention of codenames being "Numbuhs" instead of "Numbers".
  • The Mole: She leaked the Galactic Kids Next Door's plans to Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 for the sake of Earth's safety.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: It's extremely likely that everything she did as Lizzie was some kind of act — indeed, her position as the girlfriend of a galactic operative candidate may have been a way of determining where Nigel's loyalties lied. Her surname is a massive hint of this — Devine is already a semi-common given name in reality and when typically used as an indicative name it hints at a character with celestial leanings, megalomania, or astronomical ego. No one would even think of its true pun and meaning if they didn't already know her secret.
  • Plant Aliens: She resembles a potted plant turned upside-down and her full numbuh is the chemical formula for chlorophyll.
  • Punny Name: Lizzie Devine? More like Lizzie The Vine.
  • Samus Is a Girl: She turns out to be Lizzie Devine, who's of course a girl.
  • Stealth Pun: She was a plant in both the espionage sense and literal sense.
  • Token Good Teammate: The Galactic Kids Next Door teasers heavily imply the titular organization as the collective Arc Villain. She risked her stems leaking their Evil Plan to Sector V.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's basically impossible to say anything at all about Numbuh Vine without revealing something. Her being the true identity of Lizzie is the big one though as it will completely change how you look at the character.
