openProblematic user report
While going through Darth Wiki, I discovered this page here: FanficRecs.Unpublished Works
There, I found that the page was made a few days ago by a troper named Velvet Sparrow 777. Checking their edit history, I discovered that they've basically been advertising themselves as an upcoming fanfic author and making a whole bunch of pages for their work. While there is a link (which probably means it's published), none of the pages actually list any tropes. These are their only edits on the wiki, all done in less than a month.

This applies to SoYouWantTo.Build Your Own Fictional World.
Also SoYouWantTo.Write An Alternate Continuity as well.
I'm intending on adding a section on making it Like Reality, Unless Noted, but don't want to get into an Edit War (not that SeeTheIndex. So You Want To pages get edit wars... unless I'm wrong); would anyone like to help?
Edited by Merseyuser1open The Hunchback of Notre Dame Western Animation
So, I discovered that in the subpages for The Hunchback of Notre Dame (i.e. Characters. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame), the Gypsies were renamed to the Roma, despite the film referring to them by the former term.
As such I have a question: should we refer to them as the Roma or Gypsies?
open A bit Concerned about a page image.
It seems a few days ago, a troper by the name of Maddoxsort added a page image to Sequential Boss. The image appears to originate from a Eureka Seven Fan Webcomic titled Eureka Seven: Paradox Makers. Now, from what I understand there's no rule against them putting this image there (from what I'm aware, it's generally considered better to take the image to Image Pickin', but as long as there was no previous image it should be fine). However, there are a few things about the image that concern me, and so I thought I'd start a discussion here.
1. Not trying to be rude to the artist of the comic, but the art of the comic isn't particularly good, making it rather hard to tell what's actually going on and how it relates to the Sequential Boss trope.
2. The Sequential Boss trope appears to be Video Game examples only, so I'm not sure the Webcomic's example even fits the criteria for the trope.
3. This admittedly relates more to the comic as a whole than just the image, but it appears that, ever since Eureka Seven: Paradox Makers page was created in September 2019, Maddoxsort is the only person to have ever edited it, which I find somewhat concerning.
Anyway, as I already stated, I find this somewhat concerning and feel it should be discussed.
Edited by lpk675openIs the second paragraph too opinionated? Videogame
Is the latter-ish half of the second paragraph of MapleStory kind of rambly and audience reaction-y?
I know there are a lot of fetch quests but they seem highly irrelevant on the main description.
openQuotes on main and the quotes page
Can the page quote also be put on the quotes page (like with Invisible Jerkass)? Or would that be redundant?
Edited by MrMediaGuy2openEditing with an agenda?
The user DD44Handgun appears to be troping with some sort of agenda. On February 15th, they edited the YMMV page on The Critic to remove any mention of political correctness with the description "One-sided obvious Flame Bait in Values Dissonance, assuming all criticism of political correctness is white supremacist/internet trolling. Values Resonance is also vague". While the language in the deleted entries might be too casual, I fail to see how one-sided either is, as its simply describing why jokes about political correctness may not have aged well due to how some far-right leaning individuals tend to latch onto the term. The Values Resonance thing also didn't seem so vague to me.
I also noticed DD44 removed an entry on Values Dissonance about Bioshock Infinite while leaving a discussion thread about it on December 30th 2020. While he removed it for being too early (something in his defense), he left this in the description:
"B.) The blase attitude of "Antifa good, right wing bad" is pretty poorly written and portrays a group that has been convicted of numerous crimes, including violent ones.
I think it's written very poorly and ham-fistedly, and probably needs a round of edits."
Again, unsure how it was ham-fisted or poorly-written, since it was simply describing how something didn't age well. The claim that Antifa has been convicted for numerous crimes is also rather vague - I'm not from the US, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but I haven't much evidence to suggest they've committed any crimes. The claim that they're a group is also false, as is the claim they've committed violent crimes, which I couldn't find anything on.
I just found their edits a bit suspicious, so I thought I'd point them out here.

openAnother Biased Edit? Web Original
The Web Original entry on The Mary Sue originally noted that the website came to prominence during the GamerGate controversy, which is an accurate assessment, as the website was well known for its extensive coverage of that controversy. Today, while preparing to edit the entry (it's rather long and needs paring down), I found that Good Gamer 14 edited the entry to say that the site came to prominence during something called "the New '10s Culture War in the gaming and geek communities". Leaving aside the obvious spin inferred by talking about a "culture war", it's an imprecise statement; the "culture war" spanned multiple years and multiple flashpoints, and TMS was not at the forefront of all of those events. Can I just revert the edit?
Edited by StrixObscuroopenEdit War in YMMV.GranblueFantasy
hifo added a Moral Event Horizon example to Granblue Fantasy's YMMV page, Kevjro 7 removed it on account of Examples Are Not Arguable, then hifo readded the same example but removed the mention of "it could be argued" in the example.
Edited by Nouctopen Rudeness
I'm concerned that the troper Nepworks is being rather rude to people. They're being pretty confrontational and mean on this TLP draft; while a lot of tropers including myself have concerns about the draft, they're being the most aggressive about it. They're also being rather mocking on this TF query.

open Moral Event Horizon Crowner: Ad 3
The Trope Repair shop has agreed to the following criteria for Moral Event Horizon.
- Must be willfully crossed by those with moral agency.
- The deed marks a change in the portrayal of the character.
- The deed is outstandingly evil by the standards of the story.
- Those crossing the MEH need to retain presence / agency in the story long enough for the MEH to affect their portrayal.
- Only applies to individuals not groups (unless small enough to judge each member individually) as groups lack individual moral agency and its individuals can vary in it.
- The deed must be played seriously and not comedically.
- Must be intentional by the narrative and only applies to intentional villains (if they weren't clearly intended as clear-cut villains before crossing they are afterward).
- Needs to be part of a work with a continuity (i.e no Negative Continuity)
Because of this new, strict criteria, there is now a crowner for determining if MEH should become objective, meaning it will be able to be listed on the work's main page instead of the YMMV page.
The crowner will be called soon, so if you want to have a say in Moral Event Horizon staying YMMV or not, you still have a chance to vote and should do so now. Do not reply to this post and take any discussion to the TRS thread.
Edited by Kevjro7open Need an explanation as to what is wrong with my entry.
I just got a PM saying one of my edits on Readings Are Off the Scale was in error. They didn't say what the problem was and I need clarification. I don't know if the issue is in my grammar, capitalization or punctuation. I do know my spelling is correct and my quote is taken directly off the game where I used the example (if someone is going to pm me BE SPECIFIC, otherwise all you're doing is confusing me. Tell me the exact problem with the example so I can fix it)

I'm asking this because, while I know what Edit Wars are how they're triggered, I'm confused as to when the criteria is met for one.
Does it count when a prior example becomes rewritten but then gets reverted only to get re-reverted again? Or does the threshold get met when the prior example that was already added is the first step (1), then the rewrite (2) and revert (3) count as additional steps? Like, I'm really confused.
For example, on YMMV.Genshin Impact (courtesy link here), I had to revert RNGSOMEONE's rewrite of a Demonic Spiders example because the rewrite was too bloated and complainy, but I'm worried that I may have inadvertently triggered an Edit War. If I did, I deeply apologize. It's just I'm confused of the exact criteria for one.
