Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

How to Write an Example has the "Cutting the Crap" folder as a deterrent against bloated entries, in case you were wondering.
Edited by AnoBakaDesu "They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom PainReverting a rewrite isn't an edit war. But if they'd add the rewrite back (without improving it and without a good reason, contacting you or discussing it) it would become an edit war.
^ Alright, thanks for the clarification.
Nevertheless, two or more tropers going back-and-forth with adding-removing-revising/readding-re-removing ad infinitum can get tiresome. It's within the rules, but still annoying to those observing the page. Might I suggest working it out via PMs or in ATT?
Edited by RoundRobin - Fly, robin, fly! - ...I'm trying!^ I've already sent RNGSOMEONE numerous notifiers for Walkthrough Mode, Word Cruft and complaining before, but unfortunately, they don't seem to be heading them, so it doesn't look like they're interested in discussion. If I see them do those again, I'll report to the mods next time.

I'm asking this because, while I know what Edit Wars are how they're triggered, I'm confused as to when the criteria is met for one.
Does it count when a prior example becomes rewritten but then gets reverted only to get re-reverted again? Or does the threshold get met when the prior example that was already added is the first step (1), then the rewrite (2) and revert (3) count as additional steps? Like, I'm really confused.
For example, on YMMV.Genshin Impact (courtesy link here), I had to revert RNGSOMEONE's rewrite of a Demonic Spiders example because the rewrite was too bloated and complainy, but I'm worried that I may have inadvertently triggered an Edit War. If I did, I deeply apologize. It's just I'm confused of the exact criteria for one.
