For FanPreferredCouple.Live Action TV (Community tree)

  • Despite Troy and Abed having canon love interests in the form of Britta and Rachel respectively, most fans ship the two together instead, due to the massive amounts of Ho Yay between them and their great chemistry, with Troy/Abed having the most fics for the show on AO3 and still being popular years after the show ended.

Any corrections?

YMMV.Batman Mystery Of The Batwoman:

  • Misblamed: Because of Bruce Timm's alleged shipping of Bruce/Barbara, he gets a lot of blame for the infamous scene where Barbara flirts with Bruce over the phone. However, he had no involvement with the film.

  • In Christopher Titus's Norman Rockwell is Bleeding show, he talks about going to a party in high school where a bonfire was lit. One of the things thrown into the fire was a telephone pole. He doesn't know where or how they got one, but he considers it "high on the drunk theft scale."

Ranma ½ : Female Ranma.

Ranma's girlish alter ego, which he temporarily becomes in 49 episodes as a result of amnesia caused by a head injury.

  • Affectionate Nickname: When referring to Akane, she uses the suffix -chan, calling her "Akane-chan" (which the original Ranma never did).
  • Afraid of Blood: When Akane accidentally cuts her finger while slicing vegetables, she is greatly put off by the sight of it and timidly holds out a band-aid to her.
  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: The way she came to be.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Despite her kindness, she was able to hit Genma when he attacked her, thinking she was faking it, and slapped Happosai when she thought he was trying to hurt Akane (though she was just as quick to apologize to them for it).
  • Canon Foreigner: Never appears in the manga.
  • Chaste Heroine: She's not romantically attracted to anyone.
  • The Cutie: Turned out to be very sweet and good natured.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: She has pretty good cooking skills, and she even helped Kasumi with dinner preparations.
  • Foil: To true Ranma. He is loves Akane, but hides it and is often rude to her. This "Ranma" is always nice and friendly to Akane, but has no romantic love for her.
  • Genki Girl: When she's not scared of something, she's very playful and cheery.
  • Girly Bruiser: She still has fighting skills and strength, though she uses them spontaneously.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: She is naive and gentle girl with bright blue eyes.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Was only willing to show her breasts to Happosai because he asked her to.
  • Jekyll & Hyde: Zigzagged. Ranma's male personality is rude, while she is sunny and innocente.
  • Nice Girl: Very friendly girl who likes lending a hand to those in need.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Girly girl to tomboy Akane (much to the latter's displeasure).
  • Women Are Wiser: Compared to her male counterpart, she is more cautious and sensitive to other people.

@ Good-Guy Bar

  • The Victors Project:
    • The Tav is a District 7 saloon which starts out having Bad Guy Bar elements as Eamon Sullivan, Abel Gavin, and their ilk of homophobic crooked gamblers and would-be murderers often hang out in The Lumberjack and the Tree-Elf. However, it also has its fair share of consistently decent patrons. By the Mockingjay Rebellion, at which point Abel and Eamon have been gone for decades, the bar is just a place where rebels or kids needing to blow off some steam gather and becomes a major rebel stronghold during the revolution.
    • The District 2 rebels in the village of Redfern often plot, mingle, and mourn inside an old pub. In Arrow, dozens of people hide in its cellar to escape a massacre of the villagers.

@ The Three Musketeers (1973)

@ Dredd

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • The Judged, a group of gangbangers who feuded with Ma-Ma in her Back Story and have Judge mask tattoos, are only in one short flashback scene. Many fans think they had good supporting character potential and wish they'd been prominent Mooks or had an Enemy Mine alliance with the Judges.
    • Judges Volt and Guthrie are a pair of impressive figures in the comic but are Demoted to Extra in this film and fail to accomplish anything useful during their brief attempt to be The Cavalry.

@ Batman (1966)

@ Batman (1966)

Camp or not, the show has many surprisingly popular minor characters.

  • Mad Artist trapmaker Ekdal from "Zelda the Great" has a big fanbase for his ingenuity and role as being Eviler than Thou to the guest villain.
  • Penguin's pirate henchman Octopus, Riddler goon Whitey (for his attempt to impersonate Batman), Mr. Freeze's original henchman trio (due to his Affably Evil interactions with them), Catwoman's surprisingly competent Big Guy, Little Guy original henchman duo Felix and Leo, and Joker goons Latch and Bolt all have good fanbases for having a bit more personality and/or fighting skills than the average Mook.

Something I want to add to The Simpsons Futurama Crossover Crisis...

  • Hindenburg Incendiary Principle: In the first miniseries, after Homer spits out the anti-gravity gum keeping their car in the air when said gum loses its flavor, the car falls through the sky... only to safely land on top of the Duff blimp. Bender says their good luck calls for a "celebratory smoke", and despite Leela warning him not to, Bender lights his cigar, and the blimp predictably bursts into flame (revealing a rigid metal framework similar to a zeppelin), causing the car to resume falling. Fortunately, Professor Frink and Farnsworth come to the rescue on a flying motorcycle.

Trolls Band Together

  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Zig-Zagged. Clay had yellow hair during his younger years, but it turn into a lime green color as he got older, but has a heart of gold, as he cares for his brothers greatly despite disagreeing with his oldest sibling and his friends. Also, despite making a coupe of selfish choices, Clay would always put others, especially his friends and family, first before himself, do the right thing and own up to his mistakes, as he took responsibility of apologizing to Branch on behalf of himself and their brothers for leaving him and missing out of seeing him grow up.
  • Smile of Approval:
    • John Dory and Branch approve Bruce's marriage to Brandy. Also, towards the end of the film, Branch and John Dory smile in approval of Floyd's newly form friendship with Veneer.
    • Bruce happily approves in letting John Dory persuade Tiny Diamond in pressing the hustle button in Rhonda.

^ I moved the stuff about Branch and John Dory approving of Floyd's friendship with Veneer to its own bullet point at, though the first two are the same characters who approve of Bruce's marriage to Brandy, this is a separate example. However, both the first and third examples listed are Partial-Context Examples because though they mention approval, they do not mention smiling

Persona 3

  • After defeating the Arcana High Priestess, Akihiko notices that Ikutsuki has been breathing heavily and realizes that he must have pedaled his way from his residence, situated beyond the city limits, to the dormitory due to the Dark Hour rendering electronic devices, including cars, inoperable. Ikutsuki then laments about how sore he'll be the next day. From then on, Ikutsuki will always be at the dormitory on the night of a Full Moon Operation.
  • After introducing Aigis to the group, Ikutsuki informs that the mansion has a karaoke machine and volunteers to sing. Based on the group's silent response, it's pretty clear that Ikutsuki's singing skills are far from impressive.

Persona 3 Reload

  • It turns out SEES actually do have to endure Ikutusuki's singing during their trip to Yakushima. Akihiko also reveals that Junpei actually joined the chairman and his singing was equally terrible.
  • Speaking with the student by the blackboard on November will reveal that he was once almost arrested for trespassing at a middle school because he wanted to see the girls who are going to graduate.

Persona 3: The Movie

Mythology Gag:

  • In ranked 6 of her Social Link, Fuuka recounts an incident at the bookstore where a row of books fell on her while she was trying to grab one. When Fuuka is shown in the opening of Spring of Birth, the incident is depicted, fortunately without the added complication of a classmate accusing her of theft.

Persona 3: Later Members

Fuuka Yamagishi

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed in the spinoff. In "P3", Fuuka is open to receiving feedback from the Protagonist and Shinjiro in order to improve on her cooking skills. However, in "Q", she reacts defensively and reprimands them (the P3 Hero in the manga, Shinjiro in the game) when they unintentionally criticize her cooking. Later on, she joins the Investigation Team girls in giving Mitsuru the cold shoulder after she suggests utilizing their cooking as a weapon.
  • Flanderization: Fuuka's cooking gets progressively worse in the spinoff games. In P3, Shinjiro explains that Fuuka's weakness lies in her tendency to stray from the recipe without understanding the basics, leading to panic when she realizes her error. Despite her cooking being dreadful (to the extent that even a stray cat rejects it), the final outcome at least doesn't turn out to be Mystery Food X. However, in Q, her cooking is said to be as bad as the Investigation Team girls (excluding Naoto).

YMMV.Batman The Killing Joke:

  • Misblamed: Because Bruce Timm held a fondness for Bruce/Barbara (as previous works in the DCAU had hinted at them dating or having dated), he gets the majority of the blame from fans for the Bruce/Barbara subplot, including the scene of them having sex. While Timm is not blameless, since he (and the rest of the staff) did go along with it, the Bruce/Barbara subplot was originally Brian Azzarello's idea, not Timm's.

Dune: Spice Wars

  • Attack Drone (bold is add on from original text): Each faction except the Fremen has one, these cost energy to maintain instead of manpower. House Vernius, as the technological faction, has three combat drones.

  • Fat Bastard: True to the books, Baron Harkonnen is the fattest of the leaders and is the most ruthless and sadistic faction of them all.

  • Warrior Princess: Wensicia, Ilesa, and Chani are both the hero units for Corrino, Ecaz, and the Fremen, and the daughter of their leaders Shaddam, Armanda, and Liet, respectively.
