Other

  • Codec
    • Mei-Ling:Snake, did you already heard that "There is a skeleton in every house"?
    • Snake: Is that another chinese proverb? Does it involve this cocky looking white haired guy?
    • Mei-Ling: Although Dante may act cocky and tough, he lost a lot. His brother tried to open the hell gates to gain more power, and Dante saw himself having to defeat him to seal them again.
    • Snake: A conflict between two brothers, why does this sound familiar?
    • Mei-Ling: Maybe someday, he will have his soul filled with light.
    • Snake: Hmmm...

  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: Whoa, this guy is stylish!
    • Palutena: This is Dante, a powerful demon-hybrid demon hunter that defeated the demon lord Mundus.
    • Pit: Does that mean he's a good guy? Fighting the underworld force would be a lot easier with a tough guy like that.
    • Viridi: Maybe he would be tougher if he threw away his humanity like his brother. Now he just eats pizzas and ice cream.
    • Palutena: I can't blame him, pizza is really good. Maybe I should cook next time...
    • Pit: Uhhh, b-better just concentrate on the battle!

Well, I did it. It was cool making research, but making codecs and Palutena's guidance was the most fun.

Since Revenge got a major power overhaul a good amount of time ago on TTS, I might as well make a new sheet for him to get back in the groove.

     Revenge Dives In... Again?

Not actual gameplay footage.

The Smash symbol appears as normal, before spinning, becoming the symbol of Yin and Yang.

"Man, our representation is so outdated!"

A figure drops in, clad in what seems like a jacket-slacks-polo number.

"Let's update it."

Light shines on the figure, revealing it to be... Revenge? Again?

REVENGE DIVES IN... AGAIN?

  • Franchise: Tropers: The Series
  • English Voice Actor: Finn Wolfhard may do the trick this time.
  • Palettes:
    • Default: Revenge now has a shorter haircut, more resembling a traditional Marine haircut, however still a dark brown. He now sports a green jacket, blue polo, black loafers, and dark blue jeans to accentuate the outfit.
    • Alt 1: Brown hair, red jacket, blue shirt, medium blue jeans and white shoes.
    • Alt 2: Blueish gray hair, white jacket, teal shirt, light blue jeans and black shoes.
    • Alt 3: Light purple hair, Black jacket, dark green polo, black jeans and black shoes.
    • EXILE 1 (Alt 4): A new costume, Revenge now has a dark brown aviator jacket, a black shirt with the TV Tropes logo on the breast, tattered blue jeans, dark brown sneakers, and a slight 5 O'Clock Shadow.
    • EXILE 2 (Alt 5): Gray hair, dark brown jacket, golden shirt with the JJBA logo on the breast, and brown pants. Shoes remain constant.
    • EXILE 3 (Alt 6): Cream white hair, red jacket, black shirt with KOF logo on the breast, red pants, and black shoes.
    • EXILE 4 (Alt 7): Off-white hair, black jacket, dark blue shirt with the KH logo on the breast, gray jeans, and golden shoes.

  • Stats: Another FG-Style fighter, with medium weight, a fast fall, and heavy emphasis on normals for combos as opposed to specials. Has a walljump.
  • Entrance: Steps out of a time portal, swirling with light and dark.
  • Idle Animation: Scratches his head, reclining on his back foot.
  • Victory Poses:
    • Spawns a pseudo-flame swirling with light and dark, his back facing the camera. He then grasps it in his hand, extinguishing it.
      • "Try again after training."
    • Shoots the screen with two bolts, one light one dark, with a finger gun motion. The shots crack the screen upon impact, but the results are fine.
      • "I'm a Troper, and don't you forget it!"

Moveset

  • Jab: A gut punch, followed by a hard right hook laced with the active energy. Low knockback, medium damage.
  • Dash: A simple shoulder charge, this time followed by a roll for extra distance.
  • Tilts
    • F-Tilt: A two-hit kick, going up, then hitting down and up again. The first up animation is used as bait of sorts.
    • U-Tilt: A fast elbow upwards.
    • D-Tilt: A stomp on the shins, easily cancelled into more complex moves. Has high hitstun.
  • Grabs/Throws
    • Grab: Grabs opponents with the left hand, by the chest area as if he's grabbing by the shirt.
    • Pummel: Gut punches with the right hand.
    • F-Throw: A tornado throw with a single spin; Used as a combo throw.
    • B-Throw: Simply places the opponent behind him, locking them in hitstun.
    • U-Throw: Gut punches, but fully extends into an uppercut, knocking them up and back.
    • D-Throw: Slams them on the ground K. Rool-style, but used more as an upwards combo throw due to a lack of grounding.
  • Aerials
    • Nair: Revenge holds both of his hands out, firing a close-range blast of the active energy.
    • Fair: Does an overhead swing, complete with meteor sweet spot.
    • Bair: A hard backhand laced with the active energy; Turns Revenge around afterward.
    • Uair: An upward blast of the active energy, slightly shifting Revenge's momentum downward.
    • Dair: A slicing kick, moving Revenge fast to the ground.
  • Smash Attacks:
    • Side Smash: A step-into-straight slugger of a punch, laced with the active energy.
    • Up Smash: An upward pulse of the active energy, made larger the longer it's charged.
    • Down Smash: An outward pulse of the active energy in either direction.
  • Special Moves:
    • Neutral Special: Energy Burst: Fires an energy projectile based on the active energy; Dark deals Damage Over Time while Light has higher knockback for less damage. Can be charged to be larger and go farther.
    • Side Special: Super Slam/Glimmering Slice:
      • In Dark, the Side Special is Super Slam; Revenge dashes towards an opponent to grab them; If successful, he slams them into the ground hard enough to ground them. If in air, possible Ganonciding is possible.
      • In Light, the Side Special is Glimmering Slice, A slower command move. If Revenge comes into contact with an opponent while doing his slow walk forward, he'll appear on the other side of them, multiple slashes connecting before the opponent flies away.
    • Up Special: Dark Claw/Warp Drive:
      • In Dark, the Up Special is Dark Claw; Revenge moves a small distance upward before doing a large slash with two dark claws; On the ground, the initial jump has a carry hitbox, knocking the opponent into the slash.
      • In Light, the Up Special is Warp Drive; Revenge zips past opponents in an aimable direction, getting to the top and going into Special Fall.
    • Down Special: Duality Switch: Revenge stops all momentum and switches Modes; Revenge naturally starts with Dark. He can keep his movement if you hold Down Special a bit longer, at the cost of 5%.
    • Final Smash: Duality Spark: Excelsior: Revenge charges a large ball of energy in his hands, mixing light and dark; He then fires a large beam of energy for a short time.
  • Taunts:
    • Up Taunt: Revenge "slices" his neck with his thumb.
    • Side Taunt: Revenge does a "Come on" motion with his left hand.
      • "Let's go some more."
    • Down Taunt: Revenge stomps on the ground and beats his chest once.
      • "Stay down!"

Other

  • Codec
    • Snake: "This Revenge guy again... What's new with him this time?"
    • Otacon: "Are we sure this is the same guy? Revenge looks completely different!"
    • Snake: "He said it first, not me. Now, what's our intel?"
    • Otacon: "Well, Revenge is now equipped with the Duality Module, which allows him to swap properties on certain moves."
    • Snake: "So, he's a lot more versatile."
    • Otacon: "He has a lot more to deal with than your average fighter. Be careful, Snake!"
    • Snake: "Crafty kid..."
  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: "Revenge, how come your mom lets you have two character slots?"
    • Viridi: "As if you have any place to talk, Mr. Dark Pit!"
    • Pit: "Hey, Dark Pit is a completely separate person to me!"
    • Palutena: "However, unlike Dark Pit, this new Revenge has a completely new set of abilities."
    • Pit: "Stupid self-insert..."
    • Palutena: "This version of Revenge has control over light and darkness, to the point of changing his specials on a whim! Watch out Pit, as he has a much larger breadth of abilities than most opponents you come across."
    • Pit: "Don't worry, I got this! Can't be worse than last time, right?"
    • Pit: "Right?"

Now one for one of my ITT characters. :D

    Alice creeps into battle!
  • Franchise: ITT: We Are Monsters Attending School
  • English Voice Actor: Catherine O'Hara
  • Palettes: Dark gray with red eyes (default), red with yellow eyes, blue with pink eyes, green with yellow eyes, orange with with red eyes, light gray with green eyes, white with red eyes.
  • Stats: Alice is a Fragile Speedster. Very fast and lightweight.
  • Entrance: Alice crawls out from underneath a bed, which then disappears.
  • Idle Animation: Alice stands in a menacing pose, letting her tentacles slowly move around.
  • Victory Poses:
    • Alice is wearing a graduation gown and cap, and happily holds up her certificate from the monster school.
    • Alice hugs a little plush monster.

Moveset

  • Jab: Alice smacks with her four tentacles. First she does one swipe with one tentacle, then one with another tentacle, then starts a barrage of punches with all four.
  • Dash: Alice lunges forward.
  • Tilts
    • F-Tilt: Alice swipes with one tentacle, stretching it further than normal.
    • U-Tilt: Alice stretches her whole body up taller.
    • D-Tilt: Alice kicks, stretching her "leg" (both of which are hidden by her long fur) further than normal.
  • Grabs/Throws
    • Grab: Alice grabs the opponent with all four tentacles.
    • Pummel: Alice slaps the opponent with two tentacles on one side.
    • F-Throw: Alice kicks the opponent forward with one foot.
    • B-Throw: Alice leans into a backwards arc like a Slinky, slamming the opponent into the ground behind her.
    • U-Throw: Alice tosses the opponent up and bites them.
    • D-Throw: Alice hugs the opponent a little too tightly before dropping them.
  • Aerials
    • Nair: Alice turns so that her head is pointing towards the screen, then quickly spins with her four tentacles spread out.
    • Fair: Alice jabs forward with two tentacles on one side.
    • Bair: Alice leans her head backwards (like this) and bites.
    • Uair: Alice bounces up a little while briefly contorting her body into a crescent shape.
    • Dair: Alice jabs with all four tentacles so they make an X shape.
  • Smash Attacks:
    • Side Smash: Alice squishes down and tilts forward, then attacks by stretching out quickly for a headbutt.
    • Up Smash: Alice flails her tentacles around wildly.
    • Down Smash: Alice does kind of a split, squashing down so her legs reach further.
  • Special Moves:
    • Neutral Special: Eerie Music Box: Alice pulls out a music box. Hold B to make it play an Ominous Music Box Tune. While playing the music box produces music notes that float forward at random angles. It's like Mr. Game and Watch's neutral special, but the projectiles go straight instead of falling.
    • Side Special: Corkscrew Twist: Alice leans forward, stretching her body into a long corkscrew shape. Her head and tentacles cause damage and carry opponents along with them. Using this move in midair will have Alice fall much more slowly, and she can grab ledges if she reaches one.
    • Up Special: Mattress Bounce: An old mattress appears below Alice. A large spring tears through the top, bouncing Alice up. Alice does not cause contact damage while bouncing, but the mattress falls down and can damage anyone it hits. The mattress disappears when it hits the ground or after hitting someone once.
    • Down Special: Sneak Attack: Alice flattens her body all the way down. You can move around left and right slowly, but you can't jump. Press B again to have Alice jump up and attack. This move can be very powerful if you attack when an opponent is right on top of Alice.
    • Final Smash: Your Worst Nightmare: Alice disappears, and the stage goes dark. She then appears in the background, enormous and all black, except for her teeth and her red eyes. She then lunges forward and chomps on the stage, causing massive damage to all opponents. Then she and the stage go back to normal.
  • Taunts:
    • Alice does a quiet Evil Laugh.
    • Alice crouches down, and it gets shadowy around her, so only her eyes and teeth are visible.
    • Alice lies down and goes to sleep for a few seconds.

Other

  • Codec
    • Snake: Mei Ling, what is this? Some sort of living dust ball?
    • Mei Ling: That's Alice, a student at Count Cardalu's school for monsters.
    • Snake: A student? So she's... a child? I've fought with children before, but this is new...
    • Mei Ling: A bogeyman child, to be exact.
    • Snake: So, what does she do? I don't suppose she has psychic powers too?
    • Mei Ling: Not quite. What she does have is a highly elastic body. She uses it to change the shape of her body, perfect for sneaking around or reaching things far away.
    • Snake: She's not the only master of stealth here, you know.
    • Mei Ling: Hey, good point. Maybe we should ask about recruiting her.
  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: Is this another Underworld creature?
    • Viridi: Actually, this is a different monster altogether. Her name is Alice, and she's a bogeyman from the island of Graveholm, don'tcha know?
    • Pit: Graveholm? Where's that?
    • Palutena: Never mind that, Pit. Alice is fast, and she can be quite sneaky, so you need to stay focused.
    • Pit: Sneaky? But she's so cute and fluffy! I almost want to pet her.
    • Palutena: When you're not fighting, you can. But Alice can be quite formidable in battle. She has a few tricks up her sleeve.
    • Viridi: Not to mention those teeth!
    • Palutena: Be quick, and beware, and you should be fine.

Thanks! :D

Another character from the Monsters thread. I might hold off on ITT characters for a while after this. I'm already also working on one for a video game character.

    Teddy swoops in!
  • Franchise: ITT: We Are Monsters Attending School
  • English Voice Actor: CG5?
  • Palettes: Purple with orange bowtie and black hat (default), red with green bowtie and black hat, blue with yellow bowtie and black hat, yellow with black bowtie and hat, black with red bowtie and white hat
  • Stats: Teddy is a Fragile Speedster, very lightweight. He's also great in the air, with four jumps.
  • Entrance: Teddy swoops down onto the stage.
  • Idle Animation: Teddy jumps up and flaps his wings.
  • Victory Poses:
    • Teddy is shown wearing a graduation cap and gown, and holding a diploma from the school.
    • Teddy hugs a plushie of Bluethorn's armadillo knight.

Moveset

  • Jab: One jab with each of his hands, then one with his tail.
  • Dash: Teddy starts flying and does a barrel roll.
  • Tilts
    • F-Tilt: Teddy slashes with his claws.
    • U-Tilt: Teddy does an uppercut.
    • D-Tilt: Teddy quickly turns around and does a sharp jab with his tail.
  • Grabs/Throws
    • Grab: Teddy grabs the opponent with one hand.
    • Pummel: Teddy pokes the opponent with his tail.
    • F-Throw: Teddy pushes the opponent forward with his other hand.
    • B-Throw: Teddy twists backwards and slams the opponent into the ground.
    • U-Throw: Teddy spins around before throwing the opponent upwards.
    • D-Throw: Teddy spins around before piledriving the opponent into the ground.
  • Aerials
    • Nair: Teddy faces the camera and jabs left and right with his wings.
    • Fair: Teddy swipes forward twice with his claws.
    • Bair: Teddy does two jabs with his tail, one diagonally up and one diagonally down.
    • Uair: Teddy flutters quickly, propelling him up a little more.
    • Dair: Teddy jabs down with his tail.
  • Smash Attacks:
    • Side Smash: Teddy bites forward.
    • Up Smash: Teddy spins around in the air.
    • Down Smash: Teddy flies up into the air, then stabs the ground hard with his tail.
  • Special Moves:
    • Neutral Special: Shadow Flame: Teddy shoots a purple fireball (like the purple fire in Ganondorf's attacks in some games) from his mouth. Can be charged up.
    • Side Special: Trick Dash: Teddy shoots a small purple fireball in the direction he's currently facing, before suddenly dashing quickly, causing contact damage. During the charging, the play must quickly choose which direction Teddy will go (including diagonally), or else he'll just go straight forward.
    • Up Special: Upwards Spiral: Teddy flies upwards in a spiral that creates kind of a cone shape. He can cause contact damage during this.
    • Down Special: Cutting Grin: Teddy's body fades away except for his Cheshire Cat Grin. The grin splits into four smaller grin shapes that fly outward in an X shape before coming back together, like Marx's cutter attack.
    • Final Smash: The Swarm: Teddy summons a swarm of demons like him. They fly up from the bottom of the stage. At first there's only a few, which opponents can dodge, but more and more start coming until there's a giant wave that will cause massive damage to all opponents.
  • Taunts:

Other

  • Codec
    • Snake: Otacon, there's a strange bat thing here.
    • Otacon: Snake, this is Teddy. He's a student at Count Cardalu's monster school.
    • Snake: Teddy? That doesn't sound so scary.
    • Otacon: Perhaps, but watch out. Teddy is a demon with claws, teeth, and much more.
    • Snake: I'll stay on guard. Although... "Teddy." Heh heh.
    • Otacon: Don't make fun of him, Snake. He's just a kid.
    • Snake: Sorry. I'll watch out for the claws and teeth, and... whatever else.
  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: This looks like a creature from the Underworld. But I've never seen it before.
    • Palutena Actually, this is Teddy. He's a monster from the island of Graveholm, just like Alice.
    • Pit: Another monster kid? Hey, he has wings like me!
    • Palutena: Indeed. Teddy is very quick and versatile in the air. Fortunately, you are matched with him quite well. Just watch out for his dark flame attacks.
    • Viridi: Forget the fighting, I want to see them race. I bet the monster kid is faster!
    • Pit: We'll see about that!

    • Fair: Double paw swipe forwards.
    • Bair: Single paw swipe backwards.
    • Uair: Pon/Con holds a Mini Pon/Con up to attack.
    • Dair: Pon/Con spins their tail.
  • Smash Attacks:
    • Side Smash: Pon/Con does a little pounce.
    • Up Smash: Some Mini Pons/Cons stack on top of each other in front of Pon/Con (like Isabelle's Up Smash).
    • Down Smash: Pon/Con spins around, kicking some dirt up.
  • Special Moves:
    • Neutral Special: Pon/Con Bomb: A spiked bomb drops from a few feet above (let's say about twice Mario's height) and explodes when it hits something. Hold the special button, and a down arrow appears in front of Pon/Con. Move it left or right to aim the bomb. If you're using Pon, the bomb will explode into fire. If you use Con, it will explode into ice, briefly freezing anyone who touches the explosion.
    • Side Special: Mini Pon/Con Dash: Their signature move in the games. Pon/Con does a running dash forward, with three Mini Pons/Cons trailing behind them. You can turn and jump mid-dash. The dash stops if you hit a wall, get hit by a strong enough attack, or when you lose momentum. You can charge this attack to make it faster and more powerful.
    • Up Special: Sneaky Switch: Pon/Con throws down a smoke bomb, enveloping them in smoke for a few seconds. When the smoke clears, the player character switches to Con/Pon. If you use it in the air, the smoke cloud moves up, so you can use this as a recovery move. The smoke does not cause contact damage, but you are invincible while it's there. If you use this with a clone active (see down special), Pon and Con switch positions so you can still play as the other one.
    • Down Special: Dual Defenders: Whichever one of the two you're not playing as appears behind the player character as a clone of sorts. You control the clone at the same time as the PC, but the clone's horizontal movement is inverted (PC moves right, clone moves left, and vice versa.) You can combine their attacks (particularly the side special) for devastating effect, or, with clever manipulation, move the clone to a different position to attack two areas at once. However, the clone only has 20% health. There's no delay before you can make a new clone after one dies, but the clone always spawns right behind you, so if you had it in a different position, you will have to start over.
    • Final Smash: Raccoon Dog Ricochet: Pon and Con run into each other and start ricocheting off the sides of the screen at high speed, hitting all opponents and racking up massive damage in just a few seconds. They then hit each other in midair, causing them to fall back onto the stage. Whichever one you weren't playing as goes back behind the one you were playing as.
  • Taunts:
    • Pon/Con "roars" like at the start of their battle in Star Allies.
    • Pon/Con laughs silently.
    • A Mini Pon/Con appears and high-fives Pon/Con.

Other

  • Codec
    • Snake: I'm being confronted by a fox and... a raccoon?
    • Mei Ling: Close. These are Pon and Con. Pon is actually a tanuki, or Japanese raccoon dog.
    • Snake: What's with all these sentient animals? First a hedgehog, then a shih tzu, and now this.
    • Mei Ling: It is kind of funny when you remember that we're used to dealing with people with animal names.
    • Snake: Maybe my job would be more fun if I got to fight things like these all the time.
  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: These animals are so cute! Can I pet them?
    • Palutena: I'm afraid not, Pit. These are Pon and Con, and they can be quite dangerous. They have fought Kirby once in Dream Land and once at the fortress of Jambastion.
    • Viridi: That's weird. I thought they were from Animal Crossing.
    • Pit: So they can fight, huh? How can I beat them?
    • Palutena: Take note of which one is active. While their stats are mostly average, Pon has enhanced strength, and Con has enhanced speed.
    • Viridi: And if they both come out at once, watch out! You're in fur a tough one!
    • Pit: (groan)

Very nice! Everything is very well made, especially the special moves, which sound really interesting. Great job with the Codec and Palutena's Guidance, too!

A great Mascot Mook.

[up]Thank you! smile

To be honest, out of all the movesets I've done in this thread, this is the one that I really want to see in Smash the most. I think Pon and Con would be very unique and fun fighters, especially with the "clone" mechanic. They are very minor characters, but nobody was expecting Piranha Plant either, so minor characters from major franchises aren't impossible.

No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.

And now, here's a less serious one I've been meaning to do for a long time. XD

Presenting... a Smash Bros moveset for a character who appears for less than 2 minutes in a trippy animated short!

Singing Lizard is in the house!
(I will call him SL for short. He has no official name that I know of.)

  • Franchise: Face Like a Frog
  • English Voice Actor: Danny Elfman
  • Palettes: Yellow suit and purple skin, red suit and green skin, blue suit and orange skin, green suit and pink skin, black suit and purple skin, white suit and red skin.
  • Stats: SL is a Mighty Glacier. He grooves around slowly, but has some killer moves.
  • Entrance: SL slithers in from above in a snakelike form, then the body turns into his normal body.
  • Idle Animation: SL taps his foot.
  • Victory Poses:
    • "Uh-uh!"
    • SL conducts an offscreen band.

Moveset

  • Jab: Does a one-two punch, then a third punch where his arm stretches out.
  • Dash: He gets on his knees and slides to a stop.
  • Tilts
    • F-Tilt: SL turns and slaps with his tail.
    • U-Tilt: SL lays down and kicks up with one leg.
    • D-Tilt: SL moonwalks.
  • Grabs/Throws
    • Grab: SL grabs the opponent by the shoulder with one hand.
    • Pummel: SL's head turns into a fist to hit the opponent.
    • F-Throw: SL sits down and kicks the opponent with both legs.
    • B-Throw: SL spins the opponent as if the two were dancing before throwing them back.
    • U-Throw: SL turns into a giant version of his head that eats the opponent, then spits them upwards.
    • D-Throw:
  • Aerials
    • Nair: SL somersaults midair.
    • Fair: SL does a "talk to the hand" motion.
    • Bair: SL makes a whip-like motion with his tail.
    • Uair: SL raises the roof.
    • Dair: SL kicks downward twice.
  • Smash Attacks:
    • Side Smash: SL steps forward menacingly while causing lots of contact damage with each step.
    • Up Smash: SL holds up that orange bird thing that bites his finger off in the short.
    • Down Smash: SL spins, Cab Calloway style.
  • Special Moves:
    • Neutral Special: Losing His Marbles: SL turns into a little door that shoots out three balls with colorful faces, one at a time. The balls roll forward until they hit a wall or an opponent.
    • Side Special: Scorching Slink: SL's body lights on fire, and he gets on all fours and crawls forward slowly for a few steps.
    • Up Special: Elevator Filled With Ducks: An open elevator appears by SL. Either he just gets on, or, if you charge this move, some ducks get in the elevator first, then SL gets in. Then the elevator goes up quickly before eventually stopping and letting SL out. The more ducks (the more you charge), the more contact damage this move can cause.
    • Down Special: Cockroaches Dance: SL puts down a cockroach, which starts dancing. The cockroach attacks any opponent that gets too close. It disappears after 10 seconds, and you can only have two at a time.
    • Final Smash: Don't Go Into the Basement: You must be close to an opponent to use this. There's a short cinematic as SL sings the end of his song (https://youtu.be/E4unyZNh84M?t=215 3:35-3:46), except the opponent takes the place of Max (the blue frog), and at the end, SL slams the door so that it hits the opponent. Cut back to the battlefield, where opponent takes massive damage.
  • Taunts:
    • SL literally spits fire.
    • SL sits on an igloo, which melts.
    • SL slicks back his "hair" (scales).

Other

  • Codec
    • Snake: Colonel, there's a lizard here in a snazzy suit.
    • Colonel: We have no name on record for him, Snake, but we call him "Singing Lizard."
    • Snake: I'm surprised I haven't met anyone with that name before.
    • Colonel: Perhaps that's for the best, Snake. This guy's crazier than Psycho Mantis.
    • Snake: Looks like I'd better keep my guard up.
    • Colonel: Of course. And whatever you do, don't go into the basement.
    • Snake: What? ...Colonel? Colonel, you there? ...Ah, great.
  • Palutena's Guidance
    • Pit: Lady Palutena, who is this guy?
    • Palutena: That's the Singing Lizard. He's a mysterious character from a rather bizarre animated short.
    • Pit: Animated? Oh boy, I love cartoons!
    • Viridi:: What about that one you were in?
    • Pit: Oh no, not that one! I do NOT say "-icus" all the time!
    • Palutena: Guys? Aren't you forgetting something?
    • Pit: Oh, yeah. How do I beat this guy?
    • Palutena: The Singing Lizard is strong, but slow. Take note of this, and strike quickly! Good luck, Pit.

  • Pit: ...You sure he's really a hero?
  • Palutena: Anyway, you'll want to watch out for his gun's beams.
  • Viridi: Yeah! Let's fight questionable "heroes" every day!

    Travis Touches Down!

Travis Touchdown

Franchise: No More Heroes

Attributes

Attributes:
  • Speed
  • Weight:
  • Frame data notes: Slower frame data on sword attacks than most sword characters.
  • Among the most damaging throws and pummels.
  • Mid/heavyweight.

Special properties

  • Beam katanas have battery life, drained by sword attacks, especially charging up attacks, or by blocking projectiles with Neutral Special. Battery on his active katana can be refilled by the "charging motion" by holding Down Special, or by successfully countering melee attacks with Neutral Special. Since he can alternate swords, one sword doesn't run out of battery, and there's another way to charge, he doesn't have to do the motion often, or possibly even ever.
  • Throws and side special do increased damage on dizzy opponents. In order to promote dizzying opponents, certain moves that don't use his swords deal higher shield damage than other moves. Most moves of that sort are forward and back attacks.

Move list:

Neutral

  • Jab 1,2,3: Not sure at the moment. Each Beam Katana has its own jab combos, and I don't know if I want to adapt that.
  • Dash Attack: Lunge Stab (TSA)
  • Wake up: Spinning handstand kick. Deals high shield damage.
  • Ledge: Overhead punch. Deals high shield damage.

Throws: For his grab, he holds his opponent in the collar-and-elbow position.

Tilts

Smashes: Charging smashes drains battery life. If battery is about to run out, Travis is forced to do the move, then it runs out.

Aerials

  • Neutral: His horizontal forward slice from the opening to NMH 1 and first trailer for NMH 3.
  • Forward: Death Kick (NMH 3) - a forwards dropkick followed by a backflip off of them. His strongest knockback aerial.
  • Back: Double leg backwards dropkick. Deals high shield damage. Weaker than the forward aerial.
  • Up: Upwards slice.
  • Down: Downward stab - A Stall then Fall. (TSA strong aerial)

Specials

  • Neutral: Dark Step/Perfect Dodge - A counter with very strict timing that does no damage, but puts him behind the opponent, very briefly dizzies them if they're grounded, and recharges his active Beam Katana.
    • If you hold down the button, you can deflect projectiles, but it drains a lot of battery.
  • Forward/Back: Shining Chip (TSA) - An invisible long range grab that reaches the length of a Final Destination platform, and quickly pulls the opponent in. It can be dodged but not blocked or countered, but the opponent has a very brief moment to mash out of it. It can be followed up with one of the following:
    • Smash the stick in the same direction to fling the grabbed enemy away for low damage but high knockback.
    • Smash the stick in the opposite direction (away from the enemy, towards you) to bring them to you, for a special throw/attack follow up, performed by smashing the stick a third time. These throws do more damage than Travis' standard throws:
      • No input: Clothesline
      • When grounded:
        • Forward: Huracanrana - Launches at a downwards, very low to the ground angle, causing the opponent to bounce off the ground if they hit it before leaving the stage.
        • Back: Tiger Suplex - Travis' strongest move.
        • Up: DDT (listed as "Butt Thump" - Doesn't launch the opponent far, instead being used to keep them close and rack up damage to extend combos.
        • Down: Powerbomb, capable of a sacrificial KO.
      • Midair:
  • Up: Cranberry Chocolate Sundae (NMH 2) - Travis turns into a tiger for a vertical lunge, which can also be angled to lunge more forwards instead.
  • Down: Sword Change: switches between Travis' Beam Katanas. Each maintains their own battery life. Hold Down+B to charge the active Beam Katana.
    • Blood Berry: Most average sword, and the default he starts with. Battery recharges the fastest.
    • Camellia Mk. III: Lowest shield damage and knockback. Does not need to be recharged.
    • Peony: Longest range and most knockback. Battery drains fastest.
    • Rose Nasty (Dual swords): Sword attacks deal less damage, but have significantly faster speed and less endlag. Battery drains the slowest. Battery recharges the slowest.

Final Smash: Anarchy in the Galaxy
Travis boards his bike, the Schpeltiger, and charges forward approximately the length of Ganondorf's charge. Anyone hit gets caught in a cinematic cutscene where he rides his bike into his giant robot Glastonbury (1:57 - 2:05 in this video), then gets caught in the blast of its guitar cannon (4:28 - 4:36).
Alternatively, Travis' Full Armor Mode from NMH 3.

Character Details

Series icon: The Santa Destroy rose star

Stage: Motel "No More Heroes". Has a usable second level and staircase. Low walls on the sides where the fence is. The Omega version is either the stage on top of F.U.'s spaceship, or on an elevated platform above the "Garden of Madness".

Taunts:

  • Up: Holds his sword over his shoulder and gives the "Come on!" gesture with his other hand, saying either "Come and get some!" or "Gettin yer jollies?"
  • Side: Quick cuts of his idle poses from before the Dr. Shake fight (NMH 2)
  • Down: takes a call from Sylvia, who tells him "Trust your force!" or "Head for the Garden of Madness!".

Death scream: his usual death scream, but there's a small chance for him to shout "MY SPLEEN!"

Victory screen:

  • With his pants already on and zipped up, he flushes a toilet behind him and turns around sheepishly.
  • Unrolls a Bizarre Jelly 5 poster and sighs "Mo~eee!"
  • Plays with cat-Jeane

Arcade mode "UAA Rankings": all Stamina battles, but several have a Turns Red special ability

  1. Cloud (Helter Skelter and Skelter Helter - NMH 2 first boss)
    • Special Ability: Has two stocks, to reference both brothers
  2. Ganondorf (Death Metal - NMH 1 first boss)
    • Special Ability: Two more Ganondorfs appear, but at 25 HP
  3. Mega Man on Shadow Moses Island (NMH 1 Destroyman boss fight, and NMH 2 Shinobu vs. Neo Destroyman fight)
    • Special Ability: A second Mega Man appears, at full health
    • In the Spirit battle version, Sheik in her black outfit, wielding the Killing Edge (representing Shinobu) appears and helps you when the second Destroyman appears
  4. Peach, baseball hats spawn on high (Bad Girl - a boss from NMH 1, and the Stuffed into the Fridge daughter of TSA's deuteragonist)
    • Notably, while she would start with a baseball bat, and almost always have one equipped, if she doesn't have one, her vegetables will only be Stitch Face.
    • Special Ability: Blue or Black outfit Terry (representing Bad Dad from TSA), also wielding a baseball bat, jumps in to help her out.
  5. Male Corrin (NMH 3's big bad, F.U.)
    • Special Ability: I'll know when the game is out...
  6. Wii Fit Trainer and Travis (Jeane - Wii Fit Trainer's red costume; Henry - Travis' Henry outfit)
    • These three (twin brothers and their half-sister) on screen at once is a major missed moment that would be cool to finally get.
  • Boss: Crazy Hand (representing the Death Glove)

Costumes

  1. Standard attire
  2. Bad Dad colors - Blue jacket, dirty shirt
  3. Shinobu/Dr. Naomi/Nathan Copeland colors - Black outfit and yellow shirt and accents
  4. Green Techno/rave outfit
  5. Purple Jacket (TSA)
  6. Jeane colors - No jacket, white clothes with red accents
  7. Bad Girl/Bizarre Jelly 5 outfit - Pink jacket, Bizarre Jelly shirt, white pants and pink accents
  8. Henry Cooldown outfit - Longer coat and waistcoat ("Right natty vest"), grey colors

    Tails flies high!

Miles "Tails" Prower

Home Game/Series: Sonic the Hedgehog

Series Icon: Sonic's head

Role in home game(s): "Tails" is the de facto player 2 of the Sonic franchise, debuting in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and is Sonic's best friend, partner in the fight against Doctor Eggman, and effectively his little brother figure. Pretty much anything that Sonic needs help with, Tails can do, from super intelligence, piloting, mechanics, self-powered flight and swimming, etc. Tails is also one of the fastest playable characters, usually second only to Sonic and Shadow in ground speed.

Gameplay Details

Attributes:

Fighter Abilities:

  • None

Move list:

Basic Attacks

  • Jab 1/2/3: IQ 200 Attack, IQ 400 Attack, IQ 300 Attack, in that order.
  • Dash Attack: Tails Cyclone - capable of meteor smashing.
  • Trip Recovery Attack: Smacks with his wrench while getting up.
  • Floor (Wake Up) Attack: Swipes his tails around him while getting up.
  • Ledge Attack: Spin dash.

Throws

  • Grab: Holds both opponent's arms with his own arms.
  • Pummel: a smack with his trusty Wrench, held in one of his tails.
  • Forward: Thunder Shoot, flies above his opponent and throws them forward at a low angle. Potentially a horizontal kill throw.
  • Back: The back throw from Sonic the Fighters (a back body drop)
  • Up: A vertical Human Hammer-Throw. Low damage, but heavy vertical knockback, potentially a vertical kill throw.
  • Down: Spin dashes on top of his opponent. Same as Sonic's Down throw.

Tilts

Smashes

Aerials

  • Neutral: Typhoon, a spinning tail attack.
  • Forward: A short, straight punch with the Magic Hand.
  • Back: Window Jump - Tails spins his tails behind him to hit, as they propel him forwards a slight distance (compare Corrin's Back Air).
  • Up: Spin Jump - Moves up slightly, and can go either forwards or backwards, and deals heavy knockback. Combos from Spin Dash quickly, similar to how Sonic's Neutral Air does.
  • Down: Tails Dunk - A Meteor Smash, that sends opponents at a down-forward angle.

Specials

  • Neutral: Lock-On Missile - While holding, the move locks on to anyone who is in a horizontal line in front of him. He can jump, move, and turn around while holding the button to target more opponents. When he lets go of the button, each targeted opponent is chased by a fast, single, weak homing shot.
  • Forward/Back: Dummy Ring, a projectile bomb similar to the Links' that takes a low arc, but can be angled while it's held. It explodes on contact with anything other than Tails or the ground. Tails can pick it up and throw it again. Only one can be out at a time.
  • Up: Propeller Flying, each press gains height equivalent to half a jump, with a hitbox on his tails. Multi-hitting with vertical knockback, to carry the opponent upwards as Tails ascends.
    • This actually makes it function identically to how it does in the Sonic games.
    • Just like in the Sonic games, Tails will get tired after using the move several (8) times, at which point, he will descend slowly in freefall. If he hasn't reached this limit, but you don't keep inputting the move, he won't gain height, but he also won't be put into freefall.
    • Hold Up to prolong hang time.
  • Down: Spin Dash - Same as Sonic's current Side Special.

Final Smash: Tornado 2

  • Pilots the Tornado 2 through the Egg Fleet, as his opponents hang on for dear life to its wings. The Egg Fleet attempts to shoot him down, but he does a barrel roll, transforming the wings into their X formation, and the Egg Fleet's weapons only hit the opponents as they are shaken off of the wings.

Kirby Copy Ability: Lock-On Missile

  • "Hat" design: Tails' ears, tails, and 3 strands of forehead fur "hair".
  • Copy Ability: Same as Tails'.

Character Details

Stage Entrance: Jumps out of his plane as it flies in.

Taunts:

  • Up: Back Rotor - Flies up with his tails underneath him.
  • Side: Jumps up and down waving his arms.
  • Down: Looks at a reading on the Miles Electric, then smacks it a couple times.

  1. Win Pose 1: Flies across in one of his planes, waving at the camera
  2. Win Pose 2: Backflips, then does a flying double thumbs up
  3. Win Pose 3: Tinkers with Omochao (or his Remote Robot) with his hands, while typing on his computer console, using a toothpick in his tail.
  • Victory Fanfare: Standard Sonic series fanfare.
  • Defeat reaction: Happily claps for the winner.

Classic Mode: "Believe In Myself"

  • Description: The theme is stepping out of the hero's shadow. Going from disposable sidekicks, to partners, to heroes who have gone out on their own, And then finally, surpassing the hero. On each stage except the final boss, lightning bolts drop down.
  1. Olimar
  2. Rosalina & Luma
  3. Ice Climbers
  4. Diddy Kong w/ Donkey Kong
  5. Luigi w/ Mario
  6. Sonic. Sonic's Final Smash meter charges over time.
  • Boss: Doctor Eggman (new unplayable boss)

  2. Brown fur (referencing his colors in 90s books and TV shows)
  3. Grey shoes and bracelets to match the corresponding Chaos Emerald
  4. Purple shoes and bracelets to match the corresponding Chaos Emerald
  5. Blue shoes and bracelets to match the corresponding Chaos Emerald
  6. Cyan shoes and bracelets to match the corresponding Chaos Emerald
  7. Green shoes and bracelets to match the corresponding Chaos Emerald

  • Layout Description: The below stage, except the tunnel is automated.
  • Special Features: Occasionally Mega Mack floods the lower route of the stage, and the top route of the split becomes the only option. Anyone caught in the Mega Mack when it floods is KO'd unless they can escape to the top route in a couple of seconds.

    Shantae makes a move!!

Shantae

Home Game/Series: Shantae

Series Icon: A magic lamp

Role in home game(s): The heroine of her series, Shantae is a half-human (on her father's side), half-genie (on her mother's side) fighter who is the Guardian Genie of her hometown, Scuttle Town. Her heritage grants her a variety of powers, including the ability to use her hair as a weapon, the ability to transform into various other forms (mostly based on animals), and certain other magical abilities. She uses these powers to protect her home from pirates, including her nemesis Risky Boots, and from the various evil Barons that attack.

In Smash, Shantae would need to grind for damage, mainly using the Pike Ball. Other magic spells are used for situational or ranged attacks. Shantae would lack a lot of kill options in her default form, but reliable kill options would include the Obliterate Dance or Storm Puff.

Gameplay Details

Attributes:

  • Weight:
  • Speed
  • Movement Abilities:
    • Can slowly crawl in her default form.
    • Transformation specials change her movement abilities, see her special moves for more.

Fighter Abilities:

  • "Magic Meter" - Neutral special has a special gauge, visible by her stock/percent indicator.
    • Each variety of magic connected to the gauge deplete it by a certain amount or rate. If it's empty, she can't use those moves at all until she dances again to refill it.
    • Hold Neutral Special when grounded without selecting a specific magic to dance to refill the meter, at a rate of 10% per second.
  • "Dance Through the Danger" - Dancing to transform (for Smashes and Specials) has super armor properties, but her transformed forms (for specials) suffer more knockback. Transforming for her Specials is very fast. She dances for her Smash attack charge animations.

Move list:

Basic Attacks - Attacks using the Fighter's Gear from the first game.

  • Jab: Hair Whip, can be spammed, but not infinite, and opponents can move away from it.
  • Dash Attack: Elbow Charge
  • Trip Recovery Attack: Backflip kick
  • Floor (Wake Up) Attack: Backflip kick
  • Ledge Attack: Sliding kick
  • Dodge: Dash Newt - transforms to a smaller form to dodge, and has a long dodge distance.

Throws - Spider Form

  • Grab: Transforms into Spider Form and grabs the opponent with her arms.
    • Being hit, completing a throw, or releasing a throw, puts her back in her normal form.
  • Pummel: Strikes opponent with her front legs.
  • Forward: A point blank Spider Venom projectile blasts the opponent away.
  • Back: Webs the opponent and flings them backwards.
  • Up: Webs the opponent and flings them upwards.
  • Down: Walks on the opponent quickly, and then jumps and stomps on them.

Tilts - Attacks using the Fighter's Gear from the first game.

Smashes - Elephant Form

  • Forward: Elephant Charge - Rushes forward a short distance, knocking opponents away.
  • Up: Elephant Trumpet - Does a blast from her trunk, blasting opponents upwards. Weak, but has a windbox or high knockback. An original move created for Smash.
  • Down: Elephant Stomp - Jumps, then stomps downwards. Covers below and both sides. Can bury anyone directly under her.

Aerials - Attacks using the Fighter's Gear from the first game.

  • Neutral: Hair Twirl
  • Forward: Hair Whip
  • Back: A backwards Hip Attack (does not come from her first game)
  • Up: Backflip Kick
  • Down: Drill Kick

Specials

  • Neutral: Half-Genie Magic
    • Selecting the move pulls up some options that can be accessed by moving the stick before releasing B.
      • Hold Neutral Special while on a stage to dance to refill her meter at 5% per second.
      • Press and release: Mirror - Uses 10% of the meter. A reflector.
      • Up: Storm Puff - Uses 20% of the meter per use. A storm cloud that fires short lightning bolts diagonally down-left, downwards, down-right, and downwards again. Hair whip attacks can move the Puff until it starts firing bolts. Lasts 6 seconds from the first bolt. Hard to hit with, but deals high knockback.
      • "Forward": Spitfire - Uses 15% of the meter. Three small fireballs fired simultaneously, that fire straight forwards, and diagonally up and diagonally down at 30 degree angles.
      • "Back": Pike Ball - Uses 5% of the meter per second. Two pike balls circle around her, emitting a constant hitbox, and low, non-flinching damage. Transforming, dodging, or using Neutral Special again while Pike Ball is out ends it.
      • Down: Obliterate Dance - Uses 50% of the meter. Shantae dances briefly as explosions blast around her, wrecking everything nearby, and dealing high knockback.
  • Up: Harpy Form
    • This form doesn't have a set number of jumps, but instead, while she is midair, she can jump indefinitely. In this form, she is much floatier, but is a bit slippery to control, and can't grab ledges.
    • Shielding or dodging ends the transformation and puts Shantae into helpless. Exiting the transformation also has super armor, but Shantae can't reenter it until she touches the ground again.
    • A Attack: Harpy Talon - A short range scratch that is a kill move at high percents.
    • B Attack: Harpy Feather - A weak forwards projectile. Can be shot repeatedly.
  • Forward/Back: Monkey Form-Monkey Bullet - A single burst attack in a chosen direction similar to when fighting against her in the Pirate Queen's Quest DLC in Half-Genie Hero.
    • If she hits a wall or the stage, she can wall cling, wall jump, or rebound off of floors.
    • If she doesn't hit anything, the move immediately puts Shantae into helpless if in midair.
  • Down: Mouse Form

Final Smash: Mermaid Bubble

Kirby Copy Ability: Magic

  • "Hat" design: Shantae's hair.
  • Copy Ability: Complete copy of Shantae's neutral special, however, instead of doing Shantae's dance to refill the Magic Meter, Kirby does his own classic dance.

Character Details

Stage Entrance: Performs a Warp Dance.

Taunts:

  • Up: Casts a small flame from her finger and says "Ret-2-Go!"
  • Side: Transforms into the Crab Form, which has a small but very strong claw hitbox, that hits on both sides.
  • Down: Transforms into the Blobfish Form, and jumps up and down.

  1. Win Pose 1: Does her standard one hand up "All Clear!" pose.
  2. Win Pose 2: Does a celebratory dance.

I didn't expect I'd make Yoshimitsu up until I actually did it. I figure he's one of the best Namco fighting reps possible, since he reflects both Tekken and Soul Calibur. I'm torn on if he should have Tekken's Rage/Rage Drive mechanic, or Soul Calibur's Soul Charge mechanic. I'm leaning to the former, with his Rage Drive replacing his forward smash, but this may change depending on how Tekken 8 goes.

Yoshimitsu Transcends Souls, Swords, and Smash!

Yoshimitsu

Franchise: Tekken and Soulcalibur

Gameplay Data

Attributes:

Movement Abilities:

  • Up Special doesn't put him into helpless and isn't limited by range. However, it lasts based on how much energy he has (kind of like R.O.B.'s fuel or other fighters getting tired), and he has to recharge on the ground.

Special properties:

  • Stances and certain other moves can chain into each other with specific commands. What a command does is labeled with "=", while the chain is labeled with a ">".
  • Unlike Kazuya, he does not always face the opponent in one-on-ones. However, he does have a special Back Tilt and Back Smash that can be used when his back is facing an enemy.

Move list:

Neutral

Throws

Tilts

Smashes

Aerials

Specials - all stances can be cancelled back to standing with Up+A

Final Smash: Critical Edge "Ghost Thief Funeral"

  • If Ghost Thief Funeral hits, it steals a little health from any enemy caught in it.

Kirby Hat: Yoshimitsu's flag and sword

  • Copy ability: Johari Thistle and Sword Poke Windmill are the only attack options. The dodges can be used, however.

Character Details

Stage: Manji Clan Hideout (Sacred Mt. Fuji - Lava Bed, from Soul Calibur 3)

Taunts: Combine some of his more eccentric poses with basically any of his quotes.

  • Side Taunt: Soul Charge/Counter Hit - charges up to deal more damage on the next hit he lands.

Costumes

  1. Soul Calibur 6 Player 1 (multicolor)
  2. Soul Calibur 5 Player 1 (red)
  3. Soul Calibur 3 Player 1 (green)
  4. Soul Calibur 2 Player 1 (purple)
  5. Tekken 7 Player 1 (multicolor, "blue")
  6. Tekken Tag 2 Player 1 (multicolor)
  7. Tekken 3 Player 1 (grey)
  8. Tekken 1 Player 1 (white)

EDIT: Years after having made this post, I'm torn on if he should have Tekken's Rage/Rage Drive mechanic, or Soul Calibur's Soul Charge mechanic. I'm leaning to the former, with his Rage Drive replacing his forward smash, but this may change depending on how Tekken 8 goes.

     Tabuu-la Rasa

Nice! And I'm surprised you didn't go with the obvious Morrigan or Felicia. But I suppose she was in MVC 3. (When's Q-Bee ever gonna get a return? Or Jon Talbain?)

Any particular reason why no talisman on the Kirby hat?

The reason I didn't go with either of those characters is because I felt like Hsien-Ko would have a fun moveset, and is still iconic enough to represent the franchise. (I mean, if Arms can have Min Min as a main fighter...) Also, I just like her design. It's cute.

Also, the reason Kirby's hat doesn't have a talisman is because the talisman is literally Mei-Ling.
