Unhinged is really freaking intense, but in a fun way.
It's been 3000 years…I watched Pan's Labyrinth for the first time today and it's definitely something I need to watch again. For now, though, all I have to say is: fuck Captain Vidal.
You and me both on that last sentence. His actor did a great job at making a massive Hate Sink
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Two movies for the price of one here!
Wonder Woman 1984 - The only other films I've seen this year that was at a cinema and it was defiantly worth seeing. Not as good as the original but defiantly worth seeing.
Rogue One - Christmas present, one of the best Star Wars films that Disney made after buying the series. I'm one with the force, the force is with me.
Tim And Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. I found this DVD at a dollar store - I'm not a major fan of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! but I enjoy it on occasion. As such, I laughed a few times here but I'm not sure their style of comedy is really cut out for a whole movie with an actual plot. I don't know that I'd watch again on my own but if house parties are ever a thing that humans can safely participate in again it'd be fun to throw it on late into one.
Side note: I found an interview where they said they originally intended for the premise to be Tim and Eric taking over a whole town, not a mall, but the budget didn't allow for the former. It's not meant to be a plot that has a lot of logic to it anyway but certain elements make way more sense for a town than a mall - like why they'd have to personally kill a wolf that's been roving the mall for years instead of just calling animal control, let alone how there's a violent shootout in the mall during the climax without the police being involved, though according to the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue Tim and Eric were jailed for murder. I suppose there could have been some Hand Wave about how, like, the mall exists exactly on the border between two states (or the US and Canada) and is therefore not under anyone's jurisdiction.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Wonder Woman 1984 on Monday, and The Sum of All Fears last night.
Psycho Ape. Silly, heavily self-aware and 4th wall breaking parody of slasher films and "monkey movies". The plot heavily takes a backseat to Rule of Funny, but think Halloween meets King Kong. Not sure if I'd watch more than once but I laughed at some of the more absurd gags and things that clearly are Throw It In! moments, like newscasters breaking character to discuss the proper past tense of "shit" or pausing the action for two characters we've never seen before having an impassioned debate about where Ratatouille should be ranked in the Pixar canon (before inevitably getting killed by the titular ape of course).
All Dogs Go To Heaven. First time seeing this since I was a kid. Still pretty enjoyable, and one of those movies based around the idea that kids can handle some creepy/intense moments as long as it comes to a happy ending. Also this is the Trope Namer of Big-Lipped Alligator Moment but as the page itself pointed out it's not a true example- that alligator comes back near the end and actually helps out the protagonists in a plot-relevant way.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Outlaw King. They say it's the better version of Film/Braveheart and after watching it, how can I not love it? The battle scenes look amazing in my opinion, even down to the end of the film. I quite like the actors who played Robert the Bruce and Prince Edward, and the same can be said to the rest of the cast. I wished they've toned down the swearing and sex scenes a little, but that's my nickpick.
Crazy stupid in battle. Crazy cupid on a nice date.Osmosis Jones. It was actually... decent? Disregarding the live action scenes with Bill Murray. I hated those. Which sucks because I like Murray as an actor
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterTucker & Dale vs. Evil. I liked it more than I expected. :)
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Zodiac. Still one of the best and most suspenseful crime movies I've ever seen and probably the best film David Fincher has ever made.
“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollAs a Catholic, I really love and appreciate this well-made film about a recent historical period in my faith.
War for the Planet of the Apes. Never thought I'd see myself watching any of them but it was movie night at the dorm so hey. Wasn't expecting that much Grey-and-Gray Morality but it makes sense in retrospect. I still haven't seen any of the previous two in the continuity and although the whole trilogy was available, those among us who had watched them either said they weren't as interesting or had less action or something like that so we opted for the last one. An interesting watch it was, that's for sure.
The Road to El Dorado. I ended up seeking this out because of all the memes - I vaguely remembered the name and maybe seeing trailers or ads but never saw it before yesterday. I can see how it would have flopped at the time, but it's actually pretty entertaining, with some cool animation. For some reason I had it saved on Hulu in both English and Spanish- knowing me I may have even done it on purpose because I've had a hypothetical idea in my head to go watch English language animation dubbed in the language the characters might actually be speaking in were it not for Translation Convention (like, say, tracking down a French version of Ratatouille)
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Cast Away. It's still as good as I remember. :) And still as sad as I remember when he lost Wilson. :(
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Bedazzled (1967). It was good fun. :)

Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 1-Saw this first time and oddly it's the Harry Potter I've not seen that and Part 2 that I'll get around to watching soon. Anyways it was good for the most part but I feel it gets boring for quite awhile cuz the trio are just looking for horcruxes and escaping from the death eaters, and camping out in the tent and at the same time makes the pacing off because there's alot going in the first act but again it slows down in the middle to a tedious degree and then picks up at the end. I don't think I wouldn't want to see it in the cinema when it came out not because I would've been bored senseless by it but it's more or less a film that should've cut the middle man and maybe trim a bit out of the film to maybe flow a bit better.
Regardless it was quite good if a bit long winded.

The Death of Stalin. God, this movie was hilarious. Really fits my dark sense of humor.
“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollRaising Arizona. For me, it really picked up in the second half.
Hey.A Whisker Away. A high school girl turns into a cat to get closer to her crush. This was alright. The main character is apparently a Base-Breaking Character due to some borderline stalker-ish behavior, continuing to pursue someone who turned her down already, and literal cat-fishing note and I do think her development could have been handled better. Some really nice animation and I liked the surreal, fanciful quality of the "cat land" the movie eventually takes us to.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Django Unchained. A wonderful gore fest from our foot loving saviour Quentin Tarantino. It might be his goriest film, barring Kill Bill. Just what I want, really.
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Goodfellas. First time I've seen it all the way through and man is it good. Really shows how Martin Scorsese is one of the best and most influential directors ever.
“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollSonic the Hedgehog (2020). this was pretty fun. I took another look at the original, pre-redesign trailer and I'm really glad they changed Sonic's look to be more cartoony and in-line with his appearance in the games: a lot of the movie's appeal naturally relies on Sonic being a cute, lovable character, and the original design just... wasn't. Maybe would have made that one guy thinking Sonic's a cryptid funnier though? Oh yeah, and I was working at a Halloween store around the time they announced they were redesigning Sonic - costumes based on the original look hit the shelves anyway; I don't think we sold any, but it was enough of a meme that maybe someone out there bought one as an "ironic" costume.

Showed my friends Tokyo Godfathers last night and just had a generally great time. It's my favorite Christmas movie and it'll probably stay that way for a long time.
