Bringing up this example from Jason Aarons Avengers:
- Awesome Art: Ed McGuiness' pencils have been consistently praised as a highlight.
Aaand... That link works for me. Maybe double-check, or are you having locality/IP block issues?
Fixed the % % for Career Opportunities on Films of 1990–1994, since I had finally gotten around to watching it and was able to add some tropes for the page.

Is it against the rules if you put in a commented-out example first before expanding in it and uncommenting it out? I discovered one troper doing that and I want to know if it's alright or not.
Read the letter Cricket!Adding commented-out examples is not allowed. If you want to keep notes for later or something like that, do it somewhere else.
Noted. Should I notify the other troper too?
Read the letter Cricket! This example lacks context, from Trivia.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters:
- Ashcan Copy: The NES version can be considered as this, since there were less copies than both the SNES and Genesis versions.
Then there's this use of Alternate Continuity and Broad Strokes which doesn't explain how it's so, and I'm not familiar with the source material, on Anime.Zoids Chaotic Century:
- Alternate Continuity: Chaotic Century is an adaptation of the Battle Story featured on the original Zoids model kits, but it is not a 1:1 adaptation, and it takes several liberties with Battle Story's canon.
If it's an Alternate Continuity, shouldn't explain how it's different from the main canon?
I just cleaned up The Zack Files. If anyone wants to look through and make sure I got them all, feel free.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBringing up this example from Kung Fu (2021):
- Special Effects Failure: The fire in the monastery in the opening episode is not very realistic.
Very little context.
back lol- Reptilian Conspiracy: Reptoids. Based Beneath the Earth. This arc isn't finished yet.
NOTE: still listed under The Reptilians, but I'd like a little context before converting...
Do the following examples from Jupiter's Legacy look like they have enough context?:
- Disappeared Dad:
- Skyfox to Hutch. He was absent for most of Hutch's life, even when not in prison.
- Walter it turns out also has a daughter, Raikou, he never knew about from a one-time tryst.
- Mind over Matter: The Utopian's direct family has telekinetic powers.
- Patricide: Brandon kills his father to take over America.
- Time Skip: The plot skips forward nine years after Walter and Brandon's coup.
- You Have Out Lived Your Usefulness: When it becomes clear that Brandon is spiraling out of his control, Walter makes plans to eliminate him.
All of them are good, except Mind over Matter which seems like borderline ZCE.
On the subject of which... holy hell Terraformars is a ZCE nightmare, the character profile is a mess to read through. Help anyone?
Do the following examples from Jupiter's Circle look like they have enough context?:
- Heel–Face Turn: Jack Hobbs becomes the Utopian's friend and uses his power to help the world.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Deconstructed as the Flare sees April as such, but when the Flare becomes severely injured she leaves him as she says she is too young to take care of him.
- So Beautiful, It's a Curse: No man can be with Lady Liberty, they always think it feels wrong.
- Super-Intelligence:
- Jack Hobb is phenomenally intelligent, yet is apparently technically human.
- George and Walter are also noted to be hyper-intelligent as well, though Walter's is mostly an Informed Attribute.
Manic Pixie Dream Girl is the only one that gives me pause (ironic, as it’s the most wordy).
Resident Evil Musicals is saturated with ZCE's.

- Magic Mirror: Please don't tell me you need this one explained to you.
- Mirror Monster: Or this one.
- Mirror Scare: Or this one. (It's even obligatory here because of the premise.)
I reckon a neurocortex died from that.

Whoo boy, try playing a Drinking Game with Saramandaia: a shot for a ZCE on the list.
It's a Long List. I counted maybe 5 with context (barely)...
I'll remove the YMMV examples from the work page.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportDo the following examples from Chaos Walking look like they have enough context?:
- Deceased Parents Are the Best: Todd wasn't particularly fond of Cillian when he was still alive, but after he dies he misses him like hell.
- Do You Think I Can't Feel: Viola in The Knife of Never Letting Go gets a moment like this. It's the precursor to some really great character development between her and Todd and helps highlight just how deep their bond of trust grows to be.
- Funetik Aksent: The books are told in the first person point of view. Chapters with Todd's viewpoint reflect his drawl (and possibly his illiteracy).
- Hope Is Scary: The characters can't help but be wary of hope.
"Hope may be the thing that pulls you forward, may be the thing that keeps you going, but that it's dangerous, that it's painful and risky, that it's making a dare in the world and when has the world ever let us win a dare?"
Requesting a bit of assistance with Manga.Nagasarete Airantou. I got the character sheet but the main work page just has so many ZCEs to get in one go.
Negative, I tried looking and it leads me to a 404 error page.
Edit: For f... sake, page topper again? Seriously? Alright, I'll repost the link here
